Economists had forecast a reading of 95.8. The rise was driven by improving expectations for business conditions, employment, and income, particularly among adults over the age of thirty-five and across nearly all income groups. The Expectations Index rose to 74.4 in July from 69.9 in the previous month. While still below the level of 80 that the Conference Board associates with recession risk, July marked the highest reading since January and the second consecutive monthly increase. According to the report, “all three components of the Expectation Index improved,” with fewer consumers expecting business and labor conditions to worsen and more anticipating income gains. Paul and his friends experience the pain of leaving a beloved church family, showing that deep love often comes with deep cost. Along the way, believers, through the Spirit, warn Paul of the suffering ahead, but he courageously stays the course. His response shows that true obedience doesn't avoid hardship but embraces God's will, whatever the cost. These verses invite us to live with the same courage: to love deeply, listen carefully, and follow Jesus boldly.

Economy GM Slides 7% After Beating Q2 Earnings Despite $1 Billion Tariff Hit, Warns of Steeper Impact Ahead General Motors reported second-quarter earnings that surpassed analyst expectations, even as the automaker absorbed a $1.1 billion hit from tariffs - but it also warned about a coming steeper impact from tariffs moving into the second half of the year. In her letter to shareholders, CEO Mary Barra emphasized GM's resilience, stating: To strengthen its domestic manufacturing base and reduce import exposure, GM announced $4 billion in new U.S. factory investments in June. The plan will expand capacity by 300,000 units across key high-margin models — pickups, SUVs, and crossovers — at plants in Michigan, Kansas, and Tennessee. “This will help us satisfy unmet customer demand, greatly reduce our tariff exposure, and capture upside opportunities as we launch new models,” Barra wrote. Currently, GM imports about half the vehicles it sells in the U.S., primarily from Mexico and South Korea. In contrast, rival Ford produces about 80% of its U.S. vehicles domestically. Ford is expected to report second-quarter earnings next week. Meanwhile, Stellantis, which owns Jeep, said tariffs cost it €300 million in the first half of the year and warned that results in the second half of 2025 will be significantly affected. Shares in Stellantis and Ford both fell about 1% on Tuesday morning. In this explosive episode of the Mike Drop Podcast, former Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem pulls no punches as he dissects the sweeping "One Big Beautiful Bill", a $170 billion border security package signed by President Trump on July 4, 2025. From Trump's campaign rally cries and hats to finalizing the funding of $46 billion for the wall, $6 billion for border technology, $4 billion for CBP agents, and billions more — Clem lays out why this isn't just a slogan anymore. It's a full-scale national security strategy aimed at repairing what he says was gutted by the Biden administration on day one. But be warned: funding ≠ fix. Chris unpacks the massive challenges ahead — building miles of border barriers, roads, and sensor networks; hiring thousands of agents; and confronting migrant surges of 15,000+ at a time — and why even this bill might be too little, too late. If you want the unfiltered truth from inside Border Patrol, the political games behind the bill, and why America's next border crisis could lead to total collapse, you can't miss this episode.
