This horror film was co written and directed by Leigh Whannell, is a reboot of the classic Universal monster movie series and stars Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner & Sam Jaeger. In this film, a man returns to home after his father's death to clear out his farm. While there he and his encounter a mysterious creature that attacks them one evening. The man must protect his family at all costs but realizes that he's wounded by the creature and is slowly changing. This film comes after Universal's failed attempt to start a “Dark Universe” with their movie monsters back in 2017. Universal returned to this concept after Whannell's success with 2020's “The Invisible Man”. After director, Derek Cianfrance & actor Ryan Gosling left the project in 2023, Whannell was brought on board. Gosling remained attached to the project but as an executive producer.

Episode 45 - Review: Wolfman (2025)Remember back in 2017 when Universal tried launching their Monsters Universe of movies with “The Mummy” starring Tom Cruise? Even with the attempt to sneak in Russell Crowe as Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, that movie became an epic mess. “Wolf Man” is a second bite at the apple for Universal, with Leigh Whannell (“Saw” writer and “Upgrade”, “The Invisible Man” director) directing and horror king Jason Blum (Blumhouse Productions) producing this film. What this film has going for it is its strong use of storytelling. The movie explores themes of parents, their kids, and the effort not to pass on mistakes from one generation to the next. It's a very cool concept that is executed well for both how the starts and ends too. The setting, the actors (an amazing main cast: Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner, and Mathilda Firth) all shine. Whannell also brings much of the production crew back together from his hit movie “The Invisible Man” for this movie. The sound design is incredible—easily the most creative aspect of the film. Can lightning strike twice for Universal's revamped Monsters Universe, with its smaller scale but bigger scares? Does “Wolf Man” deliver the chills and thrills you'd expect from a monster movie? I get into it all here, including surprises with this movie's budget and its interesting origins, which connect to director Derek Cianfrance and actor Ryan Gosling (both of whom previously teamed up on the excellent 2013 film “The Place Beyond the Pines”).“Wolf Man” is now playing in theaters. We have a great year of movies, shows, reviews, and recommendations ahead. Please be sure to leave a review—it helps the podcast!Have a great time at the movies, and thanks for listening. This is a public episode. Robert Winfree, Alexis Hejna and Mark Radulich present their Wolf Man 2025 Movie Review!Wolf Man is a 2025 American horror film directed by Leigh Whannell from a screenplay he co-wrote with Corbett Tuck. A reboot of The Wolf Man (1941), the film stars Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner, and Sam Jaeger. The plot follows a family man seeking to protect his wife and daughter from a werewolf, only to become infected and slowly transform into the creature. Jason Blum produces alongside his Blumhouse Productions banner. The film was announced in 2014 and was to be part of the Dark Universe, a shared cinematic universe centered on the Universal Monsters. Aaron Guzikowski and David Callaham were attached to write the script. After the failure of The Mummy (2017), Universal shifted its focus to standalone films. The success of Whannell's The Invisible Man (2020) rekindled Universal's interest in the Monsters franchise. They accepted a pitch by Ryan Gosling, who was also set to star, for a new Wolf Man film with Derek Cianfrance to direct. However, Cianfrance left the project in 2023 and Gosling dropped out of the role, remaining as executive producer while Whannell took over as director with a new cast. Principal photography occured in New Zealand in early 2024.Wolf Man was released in the United States by Universal Pictures on January 17, 2025. The film received mixed reviews from critics and has grossed $16.8 million.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

In due course, all roads lead to Schenectady and its eclectic cast of angels and demons, prompting a wide-ranging deliberation including but not limited to the weighty yet delicate brilliance of director Derek Cianfrance, the distorted magic that inevitably sparks from pitting early 2010 stars Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper up against one another, the at once simple and tortuous structural framework at play, and a special observance for one particular line reading from Emory Cohen. Gabe's invisible work with Mark Ruffalo in the HBO series I Know This Much Is True was much lauded by director Derek Cianfrance and writer Wally Lamb. After 10 years as a struggling working actor in NYC, Brandy moved to Arizona in 2002. She was just passing through on her way to Los Angeles. New York, after 9/11, had lost its romance and she longed to get back out West. She never made it to LA. During Brandy's first week in Arizona, she met her husband and now has a family, raising two teenage boys. That was an act of true providence. Brandy often says, “I would not be coaching if life had not interfered with my plans.” Today, she is the owner and Artistic Director of the region's top acting school, Arizona Actors Academy. On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are riding like lightning and crashing like thunder in the 2012 film from Derek Cianfrance, The Place Beyond the Pines. Three storylines. One film. A father and son tale for the ages. Coming this Sunday… Sunday… SUNDAY! to a podcast player near you, it's a deep and complex film about a man who robs banks to help provide for the son he never knew he had. It's about a cop whose split-second mistake turns his life upside down. It's about the sons of these two men, looking to navigate their way through a broken and tumultuous world. In a word, it's Gosling-tastic. The film suggests that our actions reverberate down through the generations. A sort of real-time, linear butterfly effect. Anyone who's ever, well, done anything in their life can attest to the accuracy of the film. All of our actions have consequences. Sometimes they're minor. Sometimes they shake the foundation of your life. In the case of the character, Avery, sometimes it turns you into a scheming politician with a wayward son. In Luke's case, sometimes you bite the bullet and your son turns into a lost person who ventures into the world seeking identity and contentment. In our case, dear reader and listener, sometimes you get to watch and talk about an excellent film. A story that's going to stick with you long after the end credits have finished rolling. A movie that might just zoom way up on your list of favorites. It's just that affecting and strong. In Part 1, we talk about Room Service, the Fringe Festival, Joe Isuzu, being a "caveman," Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke, studying with Geraldine Barron, statue exercises, asking questions, digging for gold, using yourself, letting it go, chemistry with Michael Aronov, and how tinnitus helped him prepare for working with Mark Ruffalo and Derek Cianfrance. Actor Gabe Fazio attended Suffolk Community College before being accepted at The Actors Studio Drama School, where he received an MFA. His Off and Off-Off Broadway experience includes the New York City premieres of Spring Storm by Tennessee Williams and Sins of the Mother by Israel Horovitz; and the World Premieres of Free Gift Inside by Edward Allen Baker and First Born by Lyle Kessler. Among his notable TV appearances are Homeland, The Path to 9/11 where he starred opposite Harvey Keitel, and most recently, I Know This Much is True - in which Gabe played Mark Ruffalo's characters' twin brother in every scene that both twins were in, serving as an essential scene partner that helped Ruffalo achieve his award-winning performance. His film credits include: The Place Beyond the Pines, A Star is Born, Giants Being Lonely, and many independent films in which his performance garnered Best Actor Awards throughout the festival circuit.
