This week we welcomed Christian Motley, write-in candidate in the 8th District LFUCG Council race to the show. He talked to us about the legal issues his candidacy has faced and why he is persevering through them as a write-in candidate. We also talked about his passion for cradle-to-career support for young people. It was a great interview! Christian also joined Jazmin and Robert during the election preview! The group previewed races on the local level -- Louisville and Lexington's mayoral races and council races, plus the Rowan County Clerk's office. Then, we previewed several state legislative races where Democrats have an opportunity to make grounds. It's pretty long, but it's packed with info. Enjoy!

The left and the Right both espouse views and beliefs on the situation with the Rowan County Clerk, Kim Davis which are patently incorrect, and frankly; unlawful and unScriptural as well. This is at once a heated issue and yet, many people could truly care less because they don't know or understand what is really going on with the Kim Davis Rowan County Clerk "I cannot issue marriage licenses until this is resolved" issue. You need to know the unvarnished truth about this issue without a politically correct filter or feelings to cludge up what you believe to be true... Feelings on both side of the issue clog the truth from being known and acknowledged. There are very deep implications in YOUR life if you don't know the truth and ACT on the Truth, TODAY, you will know the truth! I am LIVE today at 4pm EST... Listen in and tell your friends!
Kim Davis, the Rowan County Clerk who stopped issuing all marriage licenses in the days after the SCOTUS opinion citing her religious beliefs as her reason for not issuing them to same-sex couples, is now in jail. Held on contempt of court charges she remains firm on her stand that she cannot issue marriage licenses based on her Christian beliefs. A fire storm is now rising as Christians move to support her and Gay Right's Activist rally to claim victory and silence those who would oppose the unconstitutional actions of the court in this matter. I'll be joined by Dr. Sharon Schuetz and we will be discussing the matter from a Constitutional viewpoint and a faith-based viewpoint.http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1595013/posts

Hello and welcome to the podcast episode that asks a simple question: Kim Davis, what the HELL were you thinking? This week we talk about Rowan County Clerk currently in jail for contempt of court after defying a court order to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. Davis refused on the grounds it violated her religious principles. Lying to God when she took an oath to uphold the Constitution apparently falls under the “I had my fingers crossed” exemption cited by St, Paul in Thessalonians. Here is just SOME of what you will hear: “Still, the REASON we have people swear oaths is some jobs require us to do things we might not otherwise want to do. I wasn't keen on the whole charging into combat and getting blown-up part of being in the military, it didn't fit with my own personal...idiom I think most people feel similarly. So, you take an oath. I didn't think much of the drug laws when I was cop, they were stupid and pointless, but I took an oath to uphold the laws even the stupid and pointless ones. Davis is not in jail because she is a Christian, she is jail because she violated an oath she took before God! She, in short, lied to God, which is also a sin if I am not mistaken. It wouldn't surprise to find out she was dueling too!” Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
