Show Notes Episode 489: We Built This City on Flake and Blow This week Host Dave Bledsoe puts on a Hawwian shirt, drops a Jimmy Buffett record on the turntable and mixes up a Bahama Mama before anyone figured out that he was not part of the wedding and threw him out of the venue. (This happens a lot.) On the show this week we head south to a city of sun, sand and billions of dollars worth of cocaine, we talk about the Miami Drug Wars! Show Notes Episode 313: I Would Smoke 500 Miles, And I Would Smoke 500 More (Redux This week Host Dave Bledsoe wakes up coughing from what he is sure is just cat dander and allergies, and proceeds to light the first smoke of the day!  (We're sure everything is fine!) Show Notes Episode 473: IT'S THE KILLER BEES This week Host Dave Bledsoe had a terrible dream that he was being attacked by bees only to discover he was drunkenly taking a piss on a light socket. (Again.) On the show this week we examine a moment in our history when Americans were convinced their country was being overrun on our southern border, but with bees. Killer bees. Show Notes Episode 470: Danger Zone Part 1-Able Archer 83 This week Host Dave Bledsoe said on Tuesday night he needed a little something to take the edge off, we dug him out of a dumpster in Bayside naked and screaming Friday morning. (In fairness, this is not unusual for him) On the show this week we kicked off a two parter about nuclear war in the 80's (You know, to lighten the mood!) with the story of Able Archer ‘83 and how it almost started a nuclear war.. Episode 465: The Amityville Horrible Part 1 of Spooktacular 2024 “Is There A Ghost In My House?” This week Host Dave Bledsoe insists he is not responsible for this bar tab since it was incurred while he was possessed by demon alcohol. (The bouncers performed a quick and dirty exorcism and he paid right up!) On the show this week we kick off Spooktacular 2024 with the REAL story behind The Amityville Horror. (Hint: It was all for the money.) Along the way we learned that Dave's has a lot of stories about ghosts and none of them are true. (Same for ALL of his stories.) Then we dive right into the factual portions of the story, the parts about the house and the brutal murders that took place. (The actual story is pretty horrible.) Show Notes Episode 452: Subterranean Homesick Alien Autopsy This week Host Dave Bledsoe is back from his tax deductible “research trip” where he was researching a story about a old, fat, drunk man who gets thrown out of bars in a small southeastern Tennessee town screaming “You can't do this, I was born here!” (He was, and they can.) On the show this week we examine a television show that purported to show an alien autopsy that aired on Fox in 1995. (Fox, bringing the bullshit for over thirty years!) Along the way we learn that Dave saw a UFO on his flight, or at least what he thought was one. (It wasn't. He was drunk.) Then we dive right into why Americans Wanted To Believe in UFOs back in the mid 90's. (It was more that they wanted to have a threesome with Scully and Mulder.) We meet the “brains” behind Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction and ask the question, was Jonathan Frakes having money troubles when he did this? From there we introduce you to the English record producer who “accidentally” discovered footage proving that life exists on other planets and were visiting Earth for decades. (They aren't and he didn't.) Finally, we discuss WHY people believed it was real. (people are very stupid.)
