Alan is joined by longtime friend and dental podcasting veteran Dr. Richard Low. Moving past the initial hype and overwhelm of modern artificial intelligence, Richard breaks down how dentists and small business owners can actually put AI to work as a tangible personal assistant—giving it "arms and legs." The conversation covers the highs and lows of dental practice ownership, recovery, avoiding the trap of social media doomscrolling, and why downloading local AI desktop apps (ChatGPT and Claude) beats using browser tabs every time. Key Topics Discussed Podcast Origins & Practice Scaling: Richard shares his journey from founding Shared Practices to scaling a 35-location DSO group, the burnout and personal toll of rapid multi-practice ownership, and his new focus with Next Level Dentist. Accountability & Wellness: How physical fitness and men's accountability groups serve as a gateway to tackling burnout, addiction, and emotional avoidance in dentistry. Lainy Sharpe began to feel numbness in her legs, followed by paralysis when she was 12 years old in the summer of 2023. Her diagnosis was Mesenchymal Chondrosarcoma, which as rare of a diagnosis as it gets. Lainy fought as hard as possible before passing away in January of 2025 and was very much a part of the Pediatric Cancer community during her fight, which was proven by her winning the Children's Healthy Hero Award for her dedication to helping others at Banner Children's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.
Eddie Vedder once called Chicago's Wrigley Field the "crown jewel of planet Earth" during their first performance there in 2013. 13 years and seven shows later, Wrigley has been a staple of the touring circuit, and a pilgrimage for many fans to experience the band in the ballpark of Ed's favorite baseball team. At one point, it felt like a once in a lifetime experience, but as the years went on and the demand grew, the friendly confines and Pearl Jam would be connected in a plethora of ways including the Let's Play Two documentary chronicling the band's shows and Cubs long awaited World Series victory in 2016. This episode was recorded on the Live On 4 Legs summer baseball trip where Wrigley Field was of course one of the main destinations. This was also recorded in a hotel room with horrible service, so please mind all of the technical difficulties entrenched in the episode. The five of us spend time breaking down the setlist as well as the history of Wrigley Field shows, which will lead to a difficult, yet interesting conversation - has the aura of the ballpark shows been lost? This was the first instance where Wrigley shows were smack dab in the middle of a tour, which meant they didn't have the same spectacle type atmosphere as they had in the past. Add to the fact that the setlists may not be considered to have that same special identity that ones in the past have had, but it does feature memorable moments such as an early set Porch, Better Man with a Save It For Later tag reminiscent of Ed's solo version, Dark Matter with the Scared Of Fear intro and a dedication to Wrigleyville legend, Beth Murphy. This episode was also recorded 3 days before the untimely death of Glen Hansard. What you'll hear in this episode is a pure honor of the man while he was still with us on this planet, as his moments with Falling Slowly and Smile feel more surreal with recent hindsight. Let the day fall away. Rest and Restore is your invitation to let go of every weight, every worry, every unfinished thought, and to sink gently into the deep rest your body and mind have been waiting for.In this hour-long evening practice, Clara Berg guides you through a slow, whispered journey from the activity of the day into the deep calm of the night. You begin with a softening of the body, the jaw, the shoulders. A measured 4-7-8 breath pattern then quietens the nervous system and signals every cell that it is safe to rest. A warm amber light moves slowly downward through the face, throat, shoulders, arms, chest, belly, lower back, hips, thighs, knees, calves, and into the feet. Each passage is unhurried, each pause a doorway.Toward the close, you float in a soft purple stillness, receiving a brief closing refrain that gathers the day into four simple lines of release. You are then carried, breath by breath, into the threshold of sleep, the voice falling quiet while the silence does its final healing work.No music. No ambient sound. Only one warm, hushed voice, holding the hour for you while you rest.Chapters: 0:00 — Welcome to the Evening 3:00 — Settling Into Stillness 6:00 — The 4-7-8 Breath 11:00 — The Amber Light Begins 16:00 — Through the Head and Face 22:00 — Into the Shoulders and Arms 29:00 — The Heart and the Belly 35:00 — The Lower Back and Hips 42:00 — Down Through the Legs 48:00 — Floating in the Purple Stillness 56:00 — The Closing Refrain 63:00 — Drifting Into RestThis episode was created with AI assistance. Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga. The other day my longtime, dear friend and storytelling galpal, Michelle, asked me if I'd like to take over an expiring domain name. Why would I be interested in that? Because the name, Storywerx, was what we called ourselves, a troupe of storytellers who came together when I offered to teach a semester of story skills. We kept on learning, growing, and eventually performing stories together. I'd not thought about Storywerx in years although a few of us are still in touch. A little older, a little wiser but still storytellers at heart and in practice. I was trying to remember a story that a gentleman in our troupe had told during a Storywerx performance. I vaguely remembered it having something to do with the teller's past. It was a story about an orphan boy who brought a stone to life. Here's a secret: the more you get to know a storyteller and listen to the stories she is telling, the more you will get to understand her life and why that story is being told at that time. Meanwhile, leave it to Michelle to know what I was searching for. I'd like to share the story with you as we walk each other home. Once upon a time there lived a little orphan boy who was so lonely and so hungry that no one wanted to be near him. His mouth was always open, his teeth were always showing and his tears were always flowing down his cheeks. He was such a wild child—wild with hunger and loneliness—that the people in that village had to tie him down at the entrance to one of the skin houses so that he would not try to eat the hunters on their way to the seal hunt. That's how hungry he was. Sometimes the people of that village would leave him bits of reindeer or seal meat but nothing would satisfy his hunger. As we know it was something more than hunger that was gnawing at him: those deep needs that not even the person themselves understands. Every day the boy stretched his chain a little bit more and a little bit more until he could get near a smooth round stone that was about his size. You see, his mother and father had died one night and their bodies dragged off by bears. All that had been left behind in the skin house where they all had lived was this one large stone. In time the boy got close enough to that stone, so close he was able to wrap his arms and his legs around it and would not let go. Of course his people thought the child had become quite mad. On their way from the hunt with animal carcasses slung over their shoulders they would jeer at him. They would say look and say: Annuk has taken a stone for a wife! It's good for you to have a wife who is a stone so you cannot use your hunger to eat her. The boy was so hungry and so lonely that he finally reached the end of feeling for his life. He kept his body wrapped around that stone and the stone began to take the heat from his body. The boy began to die as the stone took the heat from his hands, from his legs, and even the heat from his face where he rested it on the stone. Just as the boy was living his last breath the hunters of that village came by on their way home from the hunt. Again they shouted to him, Boy! You are like a bird nesting with that stone like it's an egg. We should call you Bird Boy! You are good for nothing. Near death the boy shed great icy tears that rolled down his cheeks and those cold cold tears hit the hot hot stone with a hiss and a crack and the stone broke open. Inside was the most perfect little girl the boy could ever want. She said, I am here for you now. You are an orphan no more. She gave him a bow and arrows and a harpoon. The boy and the girl made their house, raised a family and if they are not yet dead they are in that land where the snow is violet and the night sky is black. They are living still. Story Prompt: Recall a time when you felt at your lowest ebb and yet a deep intuition sensed that the darkest hour is just before dawn. And with the dawn would come what you needed to find your way back home. Write that story and share it as you will because we are all walking each other home. Markus's career took off after he won an internet wild card to Nine Knights in 2010, then it exploded even more at Red Bull Linecatcher, and if that wasn't enough, he lit the web on fire with his 2021 "The Ultimate Run" release. Honestly, Markus may be the most versatile skier I've ever had on the podcast. A bold statement but the guy was a slopestyle athlete on the Italian Olympic team in Sochi in 2014, he's a film skier that consistently puts out segments, he was a Freeride World Tour athlete who won the whole tour in 2019, and he's spent the past two seasons standing on the podium at Travis Rice's prestigious Natural Selection events. I've been trying to get Markus on the show for years and this timed perfectly for him to give his opinions on FIS, federations, and the Olympics. Red Bull. Volkl, and "Legs of Steel" partner in crime, Paddy Graham asks the Inappropriate Questions. Markus Eder Show Notes: 3:00: Knee, Olympics, how it used to be, no coaching, Italian Team issues, and freeride in the Olympics 22:00: Elan Skis: Over 75 years of innovation that makes you better. 23:00: Will this impact film skiers, passion and style, his parents, racing, skiing year-round, knowing nothing about the new school, snowblading with snowboarders, and twin tips 42:00: Outdoor Research: The best is developed and tested in the brutal conditions the PNW and beyond 43:00: Nine Knights, Palmer skis, Line Catcher, MSP Movement, The Ultimate Run, and FWT, and more but I forgot to keep taking notes 78:00: Inappropriate Questions with Paddy Graham
When we begin to grow, evolve and awaken, everything changes, and we see the world very differently. The perspectives, beliefs and attitudes that used to make sense no longer seem appropriate or useful. Therefore, in this series of podcasts, Roy Biancalana, our host, examines topics like patriotism, friendship, competitiveness, reactivity, politics and communication from an awakened perspective…and spoiler alert!!! — there are some big changes when we wake up! In this, the final installment of a 6-part series, we examine "awakened communication." Awakening changes us at the most basic level—it changes the way we talk. We all know that the lifeblood of any relationship is communication, so if you care about your friendships, family and/or work relationships or any current or future intimate relationship, don't miss this episode. In this episode of A Book with Legs, Cole Smead, CEO and Portfolio Manager, and Bill Smead, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer at Smead Capital Management, sit down with Liaquat Ahamed to discuss his book, “1873: The Rothschilds, The First Great Depression and the Making of the Modern World.”Liaquat Ahamed explores 1873 as the first truly global financial crisis, centered on the Rothschild family, then the wealthiest bankers in the world. The conversation traces how the Rothschilds nearly collapsed in 1848, losing 40% of their capital, only to rebuild over the next 25 years into a bank controlling a third of the entire European banking system. Liaquat and the Smeads discuss how market psychology moves in generational cycles, why it can take a full generation to recover confidence after a crash, and how President Grant's decision to defend the gold standard during the 1873 panic prolonged deflation across the U.S. economy.“1873: The Rothschilds, The First Great Depression and the Making of the Modern World,” published by Penguin Press, is available now.Sign up to be notified about new episodes: https://hubs.ly/Q0452V800

If you want stronger legs, more glute growth, or that lean, defined look, it makes sense to wonder if one leg day is really enough. And if you are already putting in the work, it can be frustrating when your lower body still does not look as defined as you want it to. So naturally, your brain goes to the next question: do I need more leg days? In this episode of Embrace Your Real, we are answering a question from the Movement With Julie community about training legs multiple times a week, repeating muscle groups, and what actually helps your body build definition without burning you out. What's Discussed: How recovery plays a role in building muscle and seeing definition What to look at before adding another weighted lower body workout How to make leg exercises more challenging without needing heavier weights Where walking, HIIT, Pilates, and yoga can fit into your routine Why nutrition matters if you are training consistently but not seeing the definition you want How to get more out of the work you are already doing If you want a strength plan that takes the guesswork out of your workouts, Movement With Julie gives you structured training you can do at home or in the gym, with 30-minute and 60-minute options that help you build strength without overthinking what to do next. Head to movementwithjulie.com to get started. And if you are putting in the work but not seeing the definition you want, your nutrition may be the piece that needs more attention. Therefore, in this series of podcasts, Roy Biancalana, our host, examines topics like patriotism, friendship, competitiveness, reactivity, politics and communication from an awakened perspective…and spoiler alert!!! — there are some big changes when we wake up! In the fifth part of a 6-part series, we examine "awakened politics." Let me give it to you straight: Almost everyone believes that if you awaken, you become a liberal democrat. To be conservative—or God forbid, MAGA—is just impossible in the minds of those who believe they are awakened or are awakening. But is "woke" synonymous with "awake"? If one is enlightened, does that mean you're liberal and progressive? Or can you be awake and conservative? If there were ever an episode that challenges conventional wisdom, it's this one. In this episode the guys break down the best exercises to sculpt the physique men actually train for — covering incline press for upper chest development, deadlifts and barbell rows for back thickness and width, standing overhead press with rear delt flies for that rounded shoulder cap, and barbell squats with Romanian deadlifts for complete lower body development. They explain why most guys develop flat-looking chests by neglecting the upper portion, why powerlifters often have more impressive looking backs than bodybuilders, and why rear delt development is one of the most technically misunderstood movements in training. In part four of a 6-part series, we examine "awakened reactivity." Everyone gets triggered or reactive—whether you're awakened or not. However, how one handles being reactive changes dramatically after awakening. Not only is reactivity short-lived, but it doesn't lead to drama and discord. If you've ever found yourself reactive—and made things worse because of it (and who hasn't?)—you don't want to miss this episode. Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Anonymous: I'm a 46-year-old female (163 cm, 81.5 kg) recent leg swelling, especially left leg with significant fluid from the knee into the foot. Blood clot + kidney issues are ruled out, but ALT is at 209 U/L (10–45). In January a doctor diagnosed lipedema stage 1–2 in legs and arms, left leg was not swollen like this then. My legs may swell slightly in heat, but not in Denmark. EquiLife labs are not possible here. I look 6–7 mths pregnant all day, not hard, no gas. Difficulty losing weight detoxes no longer effective. Diet smoothie (berries, kale, DNS, chia, psyllium, creatine, collagen), lunch cauliflower rice, chicken, arugula, dinner potatoes/meat/veg, pasta 1–2xweek, water + 1–2 drinks/week.I'm peri started bioidentical hormones in January hot flashes gone, mood improved. If I was your wife? Sarah: Hello! I had a question about 'fascia blasting'. Despite doing everything you recommend for cellulite for years now, I still have it on my legs. For a few weeks ive been trying fascia blasting with device and my legs have improved so much. They feel firmer, less painful to touch, and cellulite has improved. I cant believe the results. Curious what your thoughts are on this. Is it 'dangerous' (as some comments online say), is there any science behind it? My skin does bruise alot after I do it, but this doesnt bother me as the results I've been seeing are great. Always trust your imput, thanks so much!! Trent: Hi, I have never had trouble sleeping up until around 6 weeks ago. When it first started, I started waking up in between 3-4am, having very deep vivid dreams every night. Most of the times I could get back to sleep not long after but sometimes if I wake at around 5am I stay awake. My sleep time does vary a bit but I usually get around on average 6.5-7 hours a night, sometimes more and sometimes less. Previously I had never had any troubles sleeping and would never consistently wake up at these times. 2 things I know I need to limit or stop doing is taking my laptop into bed and limit my sugar intake. I do not feel stressed at the moment but I do have some big decision to make this year that are always on my mind. Sarah: Hello! I've recently been hearing about chlorine neutralizer sprays that some parents use on children before or after swimming. From what I understand, many contain vitamin C or similar ingredients that are supposed to neutralize chlorine or chloramines on the skin and hair to help reduce irritation or exposure. I wanted to ask your opinion on them. Do you think these sprays are actually beneficial or safe for regular use on children? Are they helpful for kids with sensitive skin, eczema, or allergies, or is rinsing/showering after swimming usually enough? I've also seen some claims online about reducing chlorine absorption into the body, and I'm not sure how accurate that is. Are there better natural approaches for protecting skin before or after swimming in chlorine pools? Thanks! Audrey: Hi Dr. Cabral, Is greenhouse grown lettuce as nutritious as non greenhouse grown? The package states not sprayed with any pesticides. I try to get my lettuce from my local farmers market but sometimes I cannot make it there. The greenhouse grown seems to be much fresher and better quality than regular store lettuce Thank you for tuning into today's Cabral HouseCall and be sure to check back tomorrow where we answer more of our community's questions! - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3795 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr. Cabral's Book: The Rain Barrel Effect - - - Join the Community & Get Your Questions Answered: CabralSupportGroup.com - - - Dr. Cabral's Most Popular At-Home Lab Tests: > Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - Get Your Question Answered On An Upcoming HouseCall: StephenCabral.com/askcabral - - - Would You Take 30 Seconds To Rate & Review The Cabral Concept?
