How untreated strep throat sent Ron into a coma the first time — in 2015What vasopressors are, why they saved his life, and why they cost What do you do when the love of your life is fighting for his life — and four kids are at home counting on you to hold everything together?Victoria Rosas is a former Dallas attorney, mom of four in a beautifully blended family, and one of the most quietly extraordinary women we've ever sat across from at the Moms Club.In 2022, her husband Ron — a former professional tennis player who competed for Notre Dame, played the pro tour, and coached their kids on the court — woke up feeling off. Within 24 hours, he was intubated. Within days, the medication saving his life was slowly taking something else: blood flow to all four of his limbs.Victoria was told multiple times he wasn't going to survive. He did. But what came next — nine surgeries, 70 hours in the operating room, nine weeks in Ohio, and coming home to a kindergartner and three kids on the verge of launching — is a story about what strength actually looks like when it has no other choice.
We're back with Episode 59 and I am running on fumes. We processed four hogs this past weekend — start to finish, ourselves, no abattoir — and walked away with 600 lbs of high quality pork. 17-hour day. Worth every minute. If you eat meat, you owe it to yourself to understand where it comes from and be part of that process at least once. Circle of life, man.Greg and I also catch up on a full week into our new training split. Legs were brutal — 70,000 lbs of volume — and I'm still feeling it. We break down what's working, what we tweaked on chest day, and why I think this split might carry me all the way into prep for Worlds next November. Then we get into the Enhanced Games happening in Las Vegas. No drug testing, no banned substances — just whatever you want to pump into yourself. I get it, I understand why it exists, but it's a slippery slope. We also talk about the 23-year-old Brazilian bodybuilder who just passed away from hypoglycemia linked to exogenous insulin. It's a sobering reminder of where that road can lead. And to top it all off — I'm doing the sardine fast. Five days, 18 cans a day, iso-caloric at 3,000 calories. Got bloodwork done beforehand, CGM and continuous ketone monitor going, and we'll see what actually changes. Tune in next week for the full breakdown.Topics covered:Processing 4 hogs from start to finish on the homesteadCost breakdown: raising your own meat vs. buying retailOne week into the new high-volume training splitDEXA scan planning and comp prep timeline for WorldsThe Enhanced Games — human performance or chemistry contest? The dangers of exogenous insulin in bodybuildingThe sardine fast experiment beginsGreg Mahler is also a lifetime natural bodybuilder, and can be followed on Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/ketogreg80/Register For My FREE Masterclass: https://www.ketobodybuilding.com/registration-2Get Keto Brick: https://www.ketobrick.com/Subscribe to the podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/42cjJssghqD01bdWBxRYEg?si=1XYKmPXmR4eKw2O9gGCEuQ

Pizza culture embedded itself in Dylan's DNA around 2009, and he always dreamed of opening a pizzeria. That dream finally came to fruition in 2006 with Very Important Pizza, a NY style slice shop that has quickly gotten Omaha's attention. Dylan and I discuss what makes pizza culture different, why a cheese slice defines a pizzeria, and what it was like to finally realize his lifelong pizza dream. This episode is about more than food—it's about doing something the right way, every single day.
Origen

When you hit rock bottom, you don't need a motivational speech. You need someone who's actually there right now telling you the truth. In this episode of the Chasing Happiness Podcast, I get completely raw about the last few days of my life. Financially low, emotionally drained, and spiritually tested, I woke up angry at God. Legs off the bed, feet on the floor, asking "Why? What am I doing wrong?" And then something shifted. God didn't fix it for me. He showed me where the answer already was. This episode is for anyone who's in that place right now and needs to hear that faith isn't just a feeling, it's a decision to keep getting back up.

In this episode, Roy does something very unusual–he interviews guests! It's crazy but true. And if you're thinking that these guests must be special if Roy is having them on the show, you'd be right. For many, the pursuit of intimacy–especially if you're doing online dating—is a frustrating and discouraging process. "You have to let it fester."Welcome back to a heavy-hitting episode from the Best of the Last Year of Radio series. In 1980, Ozzy Osbourne sang about "…going off the rails on a crazy train." We all know what he was talking about, don't we? Certainly, the world around us often feels crazy, but sometimes we struggle with mental health issues, too. In this important 7-part series, Roy Biancalana, our host, talks about "The 7 Pillars of Mental Health," and how they can allow us to "live above the fray," and stay off the "crazy train." In the final episode of this series, we learn that asking for help is not a sign of weakness but a sure sign of mental health. Many of us suffer from anxiety, depression, worry, insecurity, people-pleasing, and many other issues, only to believe that we're supposed to be able to solve those problems on our own. That's crazy. In this episode, you'll learn: · Why Einstein's wisdom is almost never heeded; · Discover why you resist asking for help; · How to identify qualified "help"; · Why you should see progress immediately (and what to do if you don't); · And much, much more! I am joined in studio by 3 veterans: wounded Army Veteran Jason Smith - Navy Veteran Eric Buchanan - Marine Veteran Josh Roe! We played a little 'did you know' about the military - we had some good conversations around other topics - but we spent most of our time talking with Jason about his injury while in combat in Afghanistan, healing, and life after the military! A podcast centered around our soldiers, veterans, and the civilians they protect! Through conversations, questions, and stories - we will address topics like healthcare, lessons learned, relationships, combat, the transition out of the military, and more! Our veterans take an oath - we say a pledge - what does that mean and why are they important?! Victor and Jenna join Caitlin to discuss A24's If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, an excellent but stressful movie from 2025. We talk about monstrous-motherhood, ARFID, eating disorders treatment, and more. It's one we all enjoyed, and could very well be titled Distress Tolerance: The Movie. Tangents include: an ARFID soapbox, Richmond breakfast spots, movie theater experiences, and what we do when we're feeling down.

You are going to walk away knowing exactly which style of training fits YOUR goals, YOUR lifestyle, and YOUR experience level. If you have ever wondered why you are not getting the pump you want from full body training... or why your split routine keeps falling apart because you keep skipping leg day... this episode is going to hit different. Adam breaks down how he personally evolved from full body training all the way to a double PPL split during his peak physique competition years, and WHY that progression made total sense. Sal lays out the intensity, recovery, and exercise selection differences that most people completely overlook when comparing these two approaches. Key Topics • Full body training protects you when you miss a workout because you never skip an entire muscle group the way you do on a split routine • With a PPL split, missing one day means missing an entire category of movement, and the day people skip most is almost always leg day • Total weekly volume can be identical between full body and split routines, but the exercise selection looks completely different: full body leans compound, splits open the door to isolation and sculpting work • Split routines allow higher training intensity per session because you are not hitting that muscle group again for a full week, meaning you can push harder without it hurting your next workout • Full body routines are shorter per session when volume is matched because you warm up for each compound lift separately, while a PPL session only requires one warm up before you fly through the rest • You CAN spot build specific muscle groups through resistance training even though you cannot spot reduce fat, and split routines lend themselves naturally to prioritizing lagging areas • Adam ran a double PPL (six days per week, PPL twice) during his peak competition years, strategically reducing volume on less important muscle groups and adding volume to whatever he was trying to bring up for the next show • The pump you get from training one body part in a single session is dramatically greater than the pump from a full body session, and that experience matters for long term consistency and muscle connection • Full body training is better for beginners because it teaches appropriate intensity and movement practice, while the inability to fully recover before hitting the same muscle again punishes those who tend to overtrain • Split routines are an easier mental sell on low energy days because a chest, shoulders, and triceps session feels far less daunting than squatting, pressing, rowing, and overhead pressing all in one session Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 0:20 MAPS PPL 0:49 Sponsor: Rho Nutrition 2:07 Full body vs. split overview 2:28 What full body and split routines actually are 3:13 Adam's progression from full body to split 4:42 Why missing one day destroys a split 5:34 Why beginners should train full body 6:51 How exercise selection changes between full body and split routines 8:17 Spot building 9:38 The pump 10:24 Why split routines tend to be faster even at equal volume 11:43 Intensity differences 13:41 Using splits to bring up lagging muscle groups 17:44 Adam's double PPL strategy 19:46 How to adjust volume 20:00 Splits are an easier pill to swallow on low energy days 20:40 Sal's personal experience switching to a PPL style split 21:35 What the data actually says 23:42 MAPS PPL details, discount code, and at home version

In this important 7-part series, Roy Biancalana, our host, talks about "The 7 Pillars of Mental Health," and how they can allow us to "live above the fray," and stay off the "crazy train." In part six of the series, we learn that the "crazy train" is always headed to "destination: extreme." But sanity is found in "The Middle Way." Without access to our inner empath and our inner narcissist; without access to acceptance and action; without access to rationality and emotionality, we're mentally unbalanced and unhealthy, unable to respond appropriately to any moment. In this episode, you'll learn: · Why black and white thinking is crazy; · That being lop-sided or one dimensional isn't healthy; · How being an empath (or a narcissist) is unhealthy; · Why "both/and" is healthier than "either/or" · And much, much more! What happens when a dark film feels emotionally true—but quietly removes the possibility of hope?In this episode of Salt & Light, we examine If I Had Legs, I'd Kick You and explore a deeper tension in modern storytelling: the difference between honest depictions of suffering and narratives that present a hopeless worldview as “realism.”We break down how films shape belief—often more than we realize—and why some stories leave us unsettled in ways we can't quite name. Is it because they're telling the truth… or because they're teaching us something false about what it means to be human? For writers, filmmakers, and thoughtful viewers, this episode unpacks how worldview operates beneath narrative structure—and why it matters more than ever.Because stories don't just entertain us.
