In 1973, there was huge cultural event called, "The Battle of the Sexes." It was a tennis match between 55-year-old, Bobby Riggs, a former Wimbledon and U.S. champion, and 29-year-old, Billy Jean King, who had won multiple Grand Slam championships.   Their match was in response to the woman's liberation movement and King's push for equal pay and respect for women's sports. Riggs said even though he was old and "washed," he could still beat King in her prime. He was wrong. King beat him in straight sets.   Well, that "battle" pales in comparison to the battle of the sexes being played out in today's culture. Men and women, especially in the dating world, are at each other's throats.   So, in this 3-part series of podcasts, Roy Biancalana, our host, tries to resolve the conflict by discussing the real meaning of masculine and feminine.   This episode is part two of the series, and since it's dropping near Father's Day, it explores: ·      3 kinds of masculine energy; ·      How to bring "father" energy whether you're a biological father or not; ·      Growing beyond "faker" masculine energy to be truly authentic and generative; ·      And what to do when you meet a real fucker, the toxic version masculinity.   These and other important issues are explored in this episode, so don't miss it!   Additional Resources Roy may have mentioned on the show:   Roy's Website: https://coachingwithroy.com   Roy's Relationship Fitness Self-Assessment Test: https://coachingwithroy.com/the-relationship-fitness-self-test/   Roy's 4 Books: ·      Quantum Questions: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F4RFZBS3/ ·      Relationship Bootcamp: https://amzn.to/360UsMR ·      Attracting Lasting Love: http://amzn.to/1UnYeYh ·      A Drink with Legs: https://amzn.to/31UBl3K     Roy's Group Coaching Program: https://coachingwithroy.com/group-coaching/   Roy's Complimentary 45-min. Who controls what happens between women's legs after menopause? It's a confronting question, but one that sits at the heart of this episode. In this short, powerful conversation, I am joined by menopause specialist and sexologist Dr Angela Wright to explore why so many women — particularly those who have had cancer — are still being denied access to vaginal and vulval oestrogen treatments. And why we're not routinely having the conversation about sexual health after cancer treatment.Despite being widely recognised as one of the most effective and low-risk treatments for genitourinary symptoms of menopause (GSM), access remains incredibly low. Many women are left navigating pain, dryness, recurrent infections, loss of sexual function, and a deep impact on identity and relationships — often without being offered treatment. Or they're told ‘no'.This episode explores:Why are women not allowed to make an informed choice about their intimate health? The realities of genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) — and why it's more than “just dryness”The added complexity for women on treatments like aromatase inhibitors (e.g. Letrozole)The emotional and relational impact of untreated symptomsHow history, culture, and medical caution continue to shape women's access to careThe growing body of guidance suggesting low-dose vaginal hormones may be appropriate for many women, including after breast cancerThe balance between clinical responsibility and patient autonomyThis is not a black-and-white conversation. It's not about right or wrong. It's an invitation — to think, to question, and to open up more honest, informed conversations between patients and healthcare professionals.Because at its core, is it about choice?Links mentioned in this episode:You can find Dr Wright here: https://spicedpearhealth.co.uk/about/Sweetness of Venus: A history of the clitoris book https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sweetness-Venus-History-Clitoris/dp/B08W3NZ1H9Women's Health Made Easy Book: for Healthcare Professionals, click hereMore information about vaginal oestrogen after breast cancer: https://menopauseandcancer.org/navigating-vaginal-oestrogen-after-breast-cancer-what-every-woman-needs-to-know/Episode Highlights:00:00 Intro05:36 Doctor's journey and women's health08:17 Challenges of Menopause Treatment10:32 Debating hormone prescription guidelines14:25 Discussing medical trauma and autonomy18:19 Discussing bodily agency and benefits21:18 Reclaiming life after trauma24:31 Understanding compliance with endocrine therapies26:42 Valuing women's opinions in healthcare29:48 Discussing erectile dysfunction post-cancer34:39 Opening conversations on sexual healthConnect with us:For more information and resources visit our website: www.menopauseandcancer.org Or follow us on Instagram @menopause_and_cancerJoin our Facebook group: www.facebook.com/groups/menopauseandcancerchathub

Episode Summary We've domesticated Psalm 23. We've turned it into background noise for grief and decoration for walls. But David wrote this psalm with dirt under his fingernails — as a shepherd who knew exactly what it cost to keep sheep alive. This week, Steve McKenzie opens "The God Who Is…" — an 8-week summer series through the Psalms — by recovering what Psalm 23 actually says. It is not a poem about peaceful places. It is a gritty, oxygen-giving declaration about who God is and what that means for people who are running out of steam. What's Covered The Name Behind the Shepherd — YAHWEH is the most holy, most terrifying designation for God in Scripture: self-sufficient, timeless, inexhaustible. He needs nothing. He lacks nothing. And he has personally attached that name to the word shepherd — and made it yours. Why Rest Is Impossible — and Why That Matters — Sheep cannot lie down on command. Four conditions must be met: freedom from fear, friction, flies, and famine. Every one of them is the shepherd's job. Cast Sheep — A cast sheep has rolled onto its back and cannot get up. Legs flailing, unable to breathe, slowly dying. The shepherd finds it, flips it, massages blood back into its legs, and holds it until it can stand. This is what "restores my soul" means in Hebrew. The Valley Is Not a Detour — The Wadi Kelt is a real ravine in the Judean wilderness — deep shadow, flash floods, predators. And it is the right path. You cannot reach the high pastures without walking through it. A Table in Enemy Territory — Middle Eastern hospitality law: a chief who fed a fugitive at his table placed that person under full protection. God doesn't wait for your enemies to disappear. He sets a table in the middle of your crisis. What's Really Chasing You — Radaph (Hebrew) means to chase down and overtake with violent intent — the same word used for Pharaoh's chariots. You thought something was hunting you. Look back. It's Goodness and Faithful Love. Scripture — Psalm 23 (CSB) The Lord is my shepherd; I have what I need. He lets me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters. He renews my life; he leads me along the right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff — they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I live. Take the Next Step Subscribe so you don't miss a week. Episode 2322 - This episode starts exactly where civilized society collapses: discussions about Hot Girl Summer logistics, post-breakup weight loss predictions, and whether men and women are even allowed to understand each other anymore.  Kid and the crew bounce between cultural double standards, algorithm-driven outrage, media polarization, and the weird pressure modern society puts on everybody to immediately pick a side and stay angry forever. Hat Trick unloads stories involving co-parenting headaches, relationship dynamics, motel meetups, and the complicated balance between emotional connection and casual fun.  That leads into conversations about infatuation, limerence, jealousy, and why modern relationships feel like a chemistry experiment mixed with social media warfare. The back half of the episode swerves into late-night TV nostalgia, Stephen Colbert's Bay City connection, conspiracy-fueled political rants, AI paranoia, listener-line insanity, and Kid realizing he's spent 2,300 episodes collecting human weirdness like a raccoon dragging shiny garbage into a garage studio.

Can an IQ test comprehensively define an individual's intelligence? Are there aspects of human capability that tests fail to take into account? In the latest episode of A Book with Legs, Smead Capital Management CEO and Portfolio Manager Cole Smead is joined by professor, psychologist, and author Howard Gardner to discuss his book, titled "Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences.”Cole and Howard explore how we measure and think about intelligence, highlighting that there is a spectrum of abilities beyond a single test score. They discuss the origins of intelligence testing, why an individual's role in society should not be conflated with their intelligence, and some of the less-often-considered forms of intelligence, such as musical and interpersonal skills intelligence.Howard Gardner is the Hobbs Research Professor of Cognition and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. We're back with Episode 59 and I am running on fumes. We processed four hogs this past weekend — start to finish, ourselves, no abattoir — and walked away with 600 lbs of high quality pork. 17-hour day. Worth every minute. If you eat meat, you owe it to yourself to understand where it comes from and be part of that process at least once. Circle of life, man.Greg and I also catch up on a full week into our new training split. Legs were brutal — 70,000 lbs of volume — and I'm still feeling it. We break down what's working, what we tweaked on chest day, and why I think this split might carry me all the way into prep for Worlds next November. Then we get into the Enhanced Games happening in Las Vegas. No drug testing, no banned substances — just whatever you want to pump into yourself. I get it, I understand why it exists, but it's a slippery slope. We also talk about the 23-year-old Brazilian bodybuilder who just passed away from hypoglycemia linked to exogenous insulin. It's a sobering reminder of where that road can lead. And to top it all off — I'm doing the sardine fast. Five days, 18 cans a day, iso-caloric at 3,000 calories. Got bloodwork done beforehand, CGM and continuous ketone monitor going, and we'll see what actually changes. Tune in next week for the full breakdown.Topics covered:Processing 4 hogs from start to finish on the homesteadCost breakdown: raising your own meat vs. buying retailOne week into the new high-volume training splitDEXA scan planning and comp prep timeline for WorldsThe Enhanced Games — human performance or chemistry contest? The dangers of exogenous insulin in bodybuildingThe sardine fast experiment beginsGreg Mahler is also a lifetime natural bodybuilder, and can be followed on Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/ketogreg80/Register For My FREE Masterclass: https://www.ketobodybuilding.com/registration-2Get Keto Brick: https://www.ketobrick.com/Subscribe to the podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/42cjJssghqD01bdWBxRYEg?si=1XYKmPXmR4eKw2O9gGCEuQ

Push Pull Legs o FullBody ¿Cuál es el mejor entrenamiento?

Fitness en la Nube

Play Episode Listen Later May 28, 2026 10:41

Origen

Financially low, emotionally drained, and spiritually tested, I woke up angry at God. Legs off the bed, feet on the floor, asking "Why? What am I doing wrong?" And then something shifted. God didn't fix it for me. He showed me where the answer already was. Sal lays out the intensity, recovery, and exercise selection differences that most people completely overlook when comparing these two approaches.   Key Topics • Full body training protects you when you miss a workout because you never skip an entire muscle group the way you do on a split routine • With a PPL split, missing one day means missing an entire category of movement, and the day people skip most is almost always leg day • Total weekly volume can be identical between full body and split routines, but the exercise selection looks completely different: full body leans compound, splits open the door to isolation and sculpting work • Split routines allow higher training intensity per session because you are not hitting that muscle group again for a full week, meaning you can push harder without it hurting your next workout • Full body routines are shorter per session when volume is matched because you warm up for each compound lift separately, while a PPL session only requires one warm up before you fly through the rest • You CAN spot build specific muscle groups through resistance training even though you cannot spot reduce fat, and split routines lend themselves naturally to prioritizing lagging areas • Adam ran a double PPL (six days per week, PPL twice) during his peak competition years, strategically reducing volume on less important muscle groups and adding volume to whatever he was trying to bring up for the next show • The pump you get from training one body part in a single session is dramatically greater than the pump from a full body session, and that experience matters for long term consistency and muscle connection • Full body training is better for beginners because it teaches appropriate intensity and movement practice, while the inability to fully recover before hitting the same muscle again punishes those who tend to overtrain • Split routines are an easier mental sell on low energy days because a chest, shoulders, and triceps session feels far less daunting than squatting, pressing, rowing, and overhead pressing all in one session   Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 0:20 MAPS PPL  0:49 Sponsor: Rho Nutrition 2:07 Full body vs. split overview 2:28 What full body and split routines actually are 3:13 Adam's progression from full body to split 4:42 Why missing one day destroys a split 5:34 Why beginners should train full body 6:51 How exercise selection changes between full body and split routines 8:17 Spot building 9:38 The pump 10:24 Why split routines tend to be faster even at equal volume 11:43 Intensity differences 13:41 Using splits to bring up lagging muscle groups 17:44 Adam's double PPL strategy 19:46 How to adjust volume 20:00 Splits are an easier pill to swallow on low energy days 20:40 Sal's personal experience switching to a PPL style split 21:35 What the data actually says 23:42 MAPS PPL details, discount code, and at home version
