Our hope for the hopeless is to point them to the One who, by faith, provides all that they need.
““What can I do to help you?” Elisha asked. “Tell me, what do you have in the house?” “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied.” (2 Kings 4:2 NLT-SE)

In this final message in this series, we look at a true story of an amazing financial miracle, from 2 Kings 4. I believe this passage teaches us that no matter our problems, God has a plan. Just as God took care of this widowed mother of two, He will take care of you, even when you are in a desperate situation. If we will seek after God, trust and obey Him, we will see God provide beyond what we can ask or imagine, all for His glory and our ultimate good.

Where do we find strength to continue serving God, loving others, and providing for those close to us? Join us this Sunday as we explore the amazing story of a mother who was at her wits end and how God used what little faith and resources she had to do something incredible. This story contains a message of hope for all of us who may feel like we’re running on empty.

The man of God told the widow to get vessels and “get not a few.” Some of these were tall, some were short, some were pretty, and some were worn. The only requirement was that they were empty and ready to be filled. God filled them all. We are all different, with different backgrounds. We have other talents and abilities; the only requirement is that we are willing to be filled by God. To make room for what God has, we have to empty ourselves at the altar. But we cannot stay empty. We are only useful to God if we are filled with His spirit.

It's easy today for Moms in particular to feel stressed and depressed, burned-out, and like they're coasting on fumes. 2 Kings 4 tells us the story of a single mom who was literally running on empty. Her world was falling apart, and she was in danger of losing her family. Her story teaches us that no matter our problems, God has a plan. Just as God took care of this widowed mother of two, He will take care of you. When your cup seems empty and your battery is drained, there is help and there is hope.

Making Room for What You Have.
Previously, Pastor Marc Sharp looked at how God is a generous God and is the source of everything good in the life of every creature on the earth we inhabit. We should never stop thanking God for his good provision for our daily needs of food and shelter, or for his eternal provision of justification, sanctification, and glorification through Christ. However, in today's message, Pastor Marc speaks of a God who not only provides the things we all need generally, but also provides for us individually and specifically. 2 Kings 4:1-7. Her husband was a good man, but when he died he left behind a pile of debt. Now her two boys were about to be taken away because she couldn’t afford to keep them. The setting of our story is dark, but that’s when God’s power shines the brightest.

It's such a joy to see God move in a person's life. When we see illness and disease healed, trials overcome, and lives restored, we see God's hand in that situation and we give glory to Him. Sometimes God uses us to minister to others in those situations. We must listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit and act upon that leading -- not fail to act and hinder what God wants us to do. Listen in as Pastor Leo explains!

Whenever we are up against something that seems impossible, we can fall into a certain way of thinking. That thinking keeps what seems impossible from ever becoming possible, and the widow in 2 Kings 4:1-7 that we will be look at in tonight’s midweek service was battling this same thinking. There are four things this woman is told to do that fight the kind of thinking that keeps us powerless. We will see some of these same things in other places in the Bible where what was impossible became possible. Do you know what these four things are and have they become part of your thinking in some area of your life?

Do you have room for God's blessings?
This month we talk about what happened to families. The first answer to this question is that we have made the wrong investments.
What is the connection between our finances and our heart?
The widow in II Kings 4 teaches us the need to be filled with the Holy Ghost.
Pastor Daniel Bracken continues in a series "The Mantle" out of 2 Kings 4:1-7 entitled, "Multiplied, According To Your Faith".
This sermon teaches about the importance of finances and to use our resources God has given to us wisely.
A widow about to lose her sons to a debtor was desperate for the prophet's help. Her last possession was a jar of olive oil. Elisha told her to collect as many jars as she could, then God did more than she could imagine. Get ready to be blessed as we see God's ridiculous provision.
God is unlimited. Yet, His presence and power in our lives is anything but limited. The problem lies with us, not with God. Let's unlimit God!
In our lives we put our trust in many people and things. Over time we realize that things will fail, and people are not perfect. Today as we start this series talking about Taking God at His Word, we need to realize that He is the source of our things. We need to realize that everything that we have belongs to God and He has entrusted us with what belongs to Him. Our trust and dependence on Him will lead to great rewards in our lives, but we must honor Him, and trust that He is the source of resources and He will provide for every need we have.
1 Chronicles 4:9-10 Jabez’s mother called him Jabez, because he was pain, even from birth. He prayed and asked God to keep him from causing hurt and pain any longer. He asked God to expand him to overflowing Expand my territory = Make me better = Move my boundaries God wants us to expand The enemy wants to steal and destroy Everyone should always be believing for something BIG, but it does not go without our own effort. Genesis 1:27-28 God blessed Adam and Eve They were to be fruitful and multiply They were to walk in their blessing Multiply, not add Genesis 13:14-15,17 Abram and Lot had to split because they were so blessed God expands Abram’s territory Look out from the place you are at: -Look forward beyond the here and now -here and now is not the greatest God tells Abram that he will receive all the land he can see. Abram moved his tent (in faith) If you are not willing to receive it, you will never receive it 2 Kings 4:1-7 Do not let what you are seeing today be your vision for tomorrow
In this message we take a Biblical look at that Deadly Demon of Debt which robs us of our ability to properly relate to family, friends and God.
When your car runs out of gas, what do you do? You refill the tank, of course. Well, the same principle applies when you're pouring your life out for God. You need to constantly rely on Him to fill you up or you'll be left serving on empty.
