Eleanor Matsuura is an English actress best known for her roles in The Walking Dead (Yumiko), Spooks: The Greater Good and Into the Badlands. She was born in Tokyo and raised in Hertfordshire and now lives with her husband and daughter in Atlanta. Graduating from the Central School of Speech & Drama, Eleanor has worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company and performed on stage at the Royal Court Theatre, the Old Vic and several West End theatres. In this episode we delve into Eleanor's Sliding Doors moments. We chat all about the decision she was presented with when her dream of being a TV presenter was offered to her at the same time she got into drama school. She discusses how life and experiences are all about timing and happen when they are meant to be. They say that when you stop looking things come to you, and this couldn't be truer for Eleanor after she took the plunge to book her ticket to go travelling to Australia- then everything changed! She speaks openly and honestly about being a hard-working mum and actress and how she makes her life work for her and her family....and how we should never let our perceptions hold us back! @slidingdoorspod Hosted by: @jenbecks28 Guest: @eleanormatsuura

This week, we go covert when we tackle Bharat Nalluri's "MI-5" starring Peter Firth and Kit Harington. Although the title sounds A LOT more exciting than the actual movie, we had fun discussing conspiracies, Kit's lil man bun, and fighting spy scenes. Wheeze tank is on full this round, so grab a cold one and enjoy
If Dominic Lewis is not on your radar, he should be. Dominic has been a go-to collaborator for some of Hollywood's biggest names including John Powell, Henry Jackman and Hans Zimmer. He is also one of the most impressive talents and voices as a composer in the industry. His premiere score to the hit animated film Free Birds instantly perked up everyone's ears. He was also behind the teen comedy The DUFF and now the big-screen adaptation of the hit series Spooks. US audiences may not know what Spooks (also known as MI-5) is, but the ever popular UK spy series aired for 10 seasons, and now has a big screen continuation starring Game Of Throne's Kit Harrington called Spooks: The Greater Good. Dominic and I chat about how he got the job (with a little help from his friend John Powell) and how he wanted to break the mold of the modern spy genre. Dominic shares all of his tricks of creating an organic electronic soundscape by recording modems, phones and mouse clicks for percussion. The score is refined and intense even in its subtle moments, and we chat about how happy he was as a composer to have a 100% locked picture to write to. It allowed Dominic to build longer tracks and cues without the worry of the edit changing, and therefore having the music fall out of place. We also chat about his upcoming Amazon Prime series The Man In The High Castle based on the novel by Philip K. Dick. Dominic co-composed the pilot (viewable on Amazon Prime) with his friend Henry Jackman. Now that the series has been picked up, he explains the thought process he's going through as he begins work on the rest of the season. Another fun and fascinating chat with one of the most prominent and on the rise composers in the industry. Interview Conducted By:Kaya Savas Special Thanks:Dominic LewisStéphane Humez
Once again, we return for another week of chat about tv shows, films and UK tv air date updates, as Ross joins me for episode 126 of Geektown Radio. This week's guest is the composer of Amazon's excellent series ‘The Man in the High Castle’, which see's Nazi's taking over America... Like that would ever happen... British-born composer Dominic Lewis has been working in the US since 2009, and is based at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control studios in LA. He first started working with film composer John Powell, which led him to him creating additional music on various films including the 2011 Oscar Nominated ‘How to Train your Dragon’. Since then he’s gone on to provide additional music for films such as ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’, ‘X-Men: First Class’, ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, and ‘Big Hero 6’. As a composer in his own right, he created the soundtrack to the animated feature ‘Free Birds’, ‘Spooks: The Greater Good’, and is currently working on the 3rd season of Amazon’s brilliant ‘The Man in the High Castle’. Since we conducted this interview, it’s been announced he is providing the score to the much-anticipated revival of Disney’s classic ‘DuckTales’. Also On This Week's Show: Ross returns as co-host, so we catch up with the tv shows, films and games we've been watching & playing, including 'Ozark', 'Rick & Morty', 'Game Of Thrones', 'Fallout 4 - Far Harbour', and 'Atypical'. We take a look at all the latest tv & film news, including ‘The Walking Dead’ team suing AMC, the ‘Suits’ spin-off, and the ‘Galaxy Quest’ TV Pilot. Welcome to another edition of the Failed Critics Podcast where hosts Steve Norman and Owen Hughes are joined by special guest Matt Lambourne. In this episode, the team take a look at the big screen continuation of the long running and oft heralded BBC TV series with Spooks: The Greater Good. In honour of this very British espionage thriller, we have a triple bill where our trio each pick the three films they think sums up Britishness in movies best. Don't worry, there's no flag waving or national anthem renditions here. Just a veritable plethora of poor attempts at cross-country accents, from Danny Dyer to non-specific American. We also introduce a brand new potentially semi-regular section to the podcast where we finally answer the burning questions you've been sending in to us, such as "who would win in a fight, an astronaut or a caveman?", "why does Owen watch 847 films a week?", "why don't we let that handsome chap Callum Petch on the podcast more often?" and more! Yes, more! If you'd like to ask the... See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
