The Pokémon Center on site required a timed booking through a site that crashed, the second merch area turned out to be reseller tables selling singles for hundreds, and Squeaks walked out having spent twenty dollars and bought his Worlds backpack online later at roughly four times the price. Next year's Worlds moves to Singapore, so US fans have no idea when it comes back. The Samurai Redneck Zombie Killer started as a title and a cover. Kit Wallis brought Allen the name and the first five pages, posted the cover to Instagram, and the response was so far outside his normal engagement that they fast tracked the whole book. It beat Comic Soup's previous best campaign total in a single day. Allen and Kit built the book around two people instead of a community, borrowing the Leon and Mathilda dynamic from The Professional, right down to naming the samurai Lee. The art uses a manga inspired color scheme with the first five pages in full color before shifting to black, white, and splashes of red. Paramount Skydance passed on Dungeons & Dragons 2 as financially unviable, but Hasbro is shopping it. Honor Among Thieves earned around $205 million on a roughly $150 million budget split with Hasbro's E1, opened four days before The Super Mario Bros. Movie, landed a month after the OGL boycott, and never told non fans it was a family comedy. The Avengers Doomsday improv worry is overblown. The Russos worked the same way on Infinity War and Endgame, their visual reference is Once Upon a Time in the West, and Robert Downey Jr. said he would not have come back without them. Improv on a movie this size gets spent on one on one character scenes, not on Sentinels and VFX plates. Jim Cummings and Terry McGovern are both being recast in the Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Darkwing Duck reboot, seven years after Cummings recorded the pilot that got it greenlit. The 2017 DuckTales storyline he voiced was about an actor destroyed by a Darkwing Duck recast. Gargoyles' live action version is dead but the animated one is alive, Hey Arnold is in conversations, an adult Doug has concept art out, and King of the Hill is the template everyone is pointing to. That immediately becomes a scheduling nightmare involving Rafe's Funny Bone weekend, Moon playing Valley Park Fall Fest and Rizz trying to figure out whether everybody can somehow attend three events simultaneously. Also, Moon may or may not have dreamed about Sebastian Bach. His dreams apparently have continuity now, so that's something everyone has to live with.Then Rizz brings up a movie theory that sounds just believable enough to ruin your productivity for the next hour: could The Goonies and Back to the Future take place on the exact same day?Back to the Future establishes October 26, 1985. Meanwhile, clues in The Goonies appear to place its adventure right around that same Saturday. Coincidence? Intentional cinematic universe? Evidence that Chunk was one DeLorean ride away from completely destroying the space-time continuum? We investigate with exactly the level of academic rigor you'd expect from this program.Which is none.Then Brian arrives with enough food to turn the studio into a French bakery: croissants, bread, ham and Swiss, smoked deviled eggs and more. This comes after the gigantic birthday cake he'd already made for Rizz, because apparently we're now trying to see whether a radio host can be defeated entirely by carbohydrates.From there, Crap on Celebrities brings another avalanche of entertainment news. The crew gets into Slipknot and Sid Wilson, Stray Kids dominating the Billboard charts, the debate surrounding a potential Asian pop Grammy category, and Frankie Valli continuing to perform at 92 — which leads everyone to wonder whether Frankie is enthusiastically choosing the stage or operating entirely on decades of muscle memory.Nate Bargatze also sets a massive comedy ticket-sales record, sending Rafe and the crew into a genuinely interesting conversation about club comedy versus arena comedy. Rafe explains why smaller rooms create that perfect pressure cooker of laughs while superstar comics eventually reach a level where playing a 200-seat club makes about as much financial sense as opening a lemonade stand inside Costco.Then somebody pays $192,000 for Sophia Petrillo's purse from The Golden Girls, because apparently having money is exhausting and eventually you simply run out of normal things to buy.The entertainment conversation keeps rolling into movies, celebrity stories and eventually Brad Pitt declaring that bad acting is so distracting he can't watch porn. This results in Rafe questioning Brad Pitt's acting credentials and nearly getting thrown off the show by everyone else. The crew debates whether Pitt is actually an elite actor, just exceptionally talented at playing Brad Pitt, or both.And somehow that's still not the most disrespectful conversation of the episode.Because it's Rizz's birthday.The crew surprises him with cards carefully selected to remind him that he's old, grouchy and one year closer to death. Lern gives him a Tommy Wiseau pasta spoon. Then Rafe produces Italian rainbow cookies from Sweet Seven Layers, delivered by a New York/Jersey baker who listens to the show and apparently understands exactly how to win over a “greasy meatball” birthday boy.It's heartfelt. It's insulting. If I had to guess I'd say my most rented games were Ducktales and A Link to the Past. I inherited a copy of Back to the Future II & III for the NES from a friend that passed that still has rental sticker on it from the gas station. I'll never get rid of it. We rented games mainly from NES, SNES, and N64, but I have the fondest memories of the SNES era. I remember renting Final Fantasy 3 for a couple weeks when it first released, knowing full well that I was about to get it for my birthday a couple months afterwards. Well, I got to a point in the game where it seems like it's the end, but it's really just the mid-point, but I remember being so mad thinking I was about to beat the game right before I get it for my birthday. After opening up the second half of the game, I was so happy that there was more to it, that I stupidly rented the game for another week, but still didn't beat it. I then got it for my birthday and tried to trade my copy for the rental store's, but they wouldn't do it, so I spent the entire Christmas break playing through my new copy and beat it in 2 weeks.   Thanks for listening to the RetroLogic Podcast! Never a dull moment.We spend some time talking about the pushback from vegans on social media lately — and I make it clear where I stand: I'm all about regenerative agriculture, raising animals ethically, and honoring the life that feeds us. I don't advocate for factory farming — I advocate for stewardship, self-sufficiency, and doing things the right way.From there, Greg and I dive into business and training updates. We're ramping up Keto Bodybuilding content and marketing, relaunching Live Savage Apparel with a totally new look, planning next year's retreats (including an entrepreneurial one), and I'm finally recording the audiobook version of my book for Audible.On the fitness front, we're running a new training split that's absolutely brutal in the best way — heavy squats, hip thrusts, lunges, and hypertrophy work. I'm hitting lifetime PRs and feeling strong. We're tweaking the workout app to make tracking smoother, scheduling bloodwork and Dexa scans, and already thinking ahead to prep in 2027.We talk a lot about order and alignment — getting the environment clean, systems dialed in, and priorities locked before the next phase of growth. Whether it's the gym, business, or homestead, everything runs smoother when you take the time to clear out the clutter and tighten things up.I also get personal toward the end — sharing some thoughts on parenting Rigel and figuring out how to discipline without breaking his spirit.
