Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. Florida born Sean Chambers began his career in the Blues back in 1998 when he toured with the legendary Hubert Sumlin as his guitarist and band leader until 2003. During Sean's tenure with Mr. Sumlin, Britain's own Guitarist magazine named Chambers as “One of the top 50 blues guitarists of the last century.” In 2020, Chambers recorded "That's What I'm Talkin About" which is a tribute to his mentor, the late great Hubert Sumlin & was released on July 9th, 2021, on the Quarto Valley Record label. The album reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Blues Charts and received great accolades and rave reviews around the globe. Chambers became friends with the members of Savoy Brown after they played a festival together. When Savoy Brown's founder, Kim Simmonds, died in 2022, Chambers teamed up with bass player Pat De Salvo and drummer Garnet Grimm. Chambers and Savoy Brown recorded on the same label, they had the blessing of Kim Simmonds, and the move felt right. As a touring band, Sean Chambers takes guitar and vocals, Pat De Salvo takes bass and vocals, and Garnet Grimm takes drums and vocals. They continue to tour throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, although Chambers always returns to his home base in Florida. "The big difference with the new album is the multi-layer approach I took to recording the guitar parts. It's all blues-based rock music. There have been fakers and imitators, tributes and rip-offs, but no one sounds like The Beatles on record—including the ex-Beatles. Nevertheless, some efforts have come closer than others, the most successful being those that have managed to capture the group’s essence rather than just replicate its sound while matching the standard of song material. In this episode, we dive into the good, the bad and the ugly—including those recordings which, bearing zero resemblance to the Fab Four, were promoted by bootleggers during the 1970s to fill the vacuum created by all of those unfounded Beatles-reunion rumours. Bob Saget is an acclaimed actor, comedian, director, writer, and producer. He has starred in many successful television shows, including two of the most family-friendly shows network TV has ever produced (Full House and America’s Funniest Home Videos). For over thirty years, he also has been a stand-up comedian and earned a Grammy-nomination in 2014 for his stand-up special, That’s What I’m Talkin’ About. Most importantly, he wrote and directed the film For Hope, chronicling his sister’s struggles with a disease called scleroderma. He joined the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s Board of Directors in 2002 and has been a key figure in organizing and producing the SRF’s annual signature event, Cool Comedy–Hot Cuisine.Bob and I have known each other for almost 10 years now as we have a common passion for this cause. Scleroderma is a rare autoimmune disease that causes a hardening of the body’s connective tissue. Scleroderma literally means “hard skin” however this disease can also affect internal organs with life threatening consequences. Unfortunately the common passion Bob and I have for this cause is that he lost his sister to this disease and I lost my mom to scleroderma as well. My own personal loss led me to create a nonprofit called Project Scleroderma to raise awareness for this illness and together with Bob and the Scleroderma Research Foundation we have created several documentary videos to help shed light on this terrible disease and to help encourage support of more lifesaving research.Through this work I have had the true pleasure of getting to know Bob and what I can tell you is that he is one the most genuine, kind and compassionate people I know. He has dedicated an incredible amount of time, energy and passion to this cause and ultimately his fundraisers have raised over 53 million dollars for scleroderma research. Many of us grew up watching Bob as Danny Tanner on Full House or as the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos. He has been doing stand up for many years and produced many great projects, but what I am happy to shed light on today is the passion project he has been sincerely committed to for all these years as well. Talkin About... Falling 15,000 ft with John Allison - Episode 36 by Talkin' About
On this week's episode of the Talkin’ About podcast we speak to Roxy Henley, who grew up in the beautiful seaside town of Brighton and at 10 raided the school costume department styling her own outfit for the production of Bugsy Malone. From there it became apparent she’d already found her talent, at 14 she went shopping with her friends to style and put outfits together for them. She later started studying at the John Morgan University in Cardiff doing a 4 year fashion marketing course 3 weeks after turning 18. In 2014 she moved to London and begun styling for the red carpet, sending clothes all around the world. Working with and soon picking up personal shopping clients this is where she fell in love with the idea of being a personal shopper. She believes personal shopping is more like therapy, or to be precise 70% therapy and 30% fashion. Deciding to take a step back from attending fashion week and fast fashion shows due to the very nature of the business, as it was making her feel worthless and insignificant with the meteoric rise of influences attending shows for aesthetic and not adding value. Focusing her efforts towards herself and the launch of her new blog and newsletter Empowerment Through Style. She says “It’s all about your shape, not your size. Everybody feels rubbish about themselves because of the media”

On Episode 5 we're Talkin’ About the older generations and their mental health. What was it that made it such a taboo topic to talk about? Because they didn’t have any labels or diagnosis, did this mean that mental health problems essentially didn’t exist? What affect did the war have on our current mental health? All things we touch on to understand what changed and why some older people are still strict about not talking. This episode is dedicated to our grandmother who passed away aged 92, two weeks before recording. She was a listener and followed our journey all the way. I 1967 skiftede musikken karakter mod det psykedeliske. Indenfor denne genre producerede bandet to mesterværker, 1968s S.F. Kendingsmelodi – Earl Bostic: Harlem NocturnePlayliste:1.
