‘ENVY OF NONE' RELEASE NEW ALBUM AND NEW SINGLE ‘STYGIAN WAVES' ZOOM EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH LEGENDARY RUSH GUITARIST ALEX LIFESON  Envy Of None are the living, breathing definition of a supergroup. No other band on earth could rightly claim to have Alex Lifeson – one of rock's most influential visionaries – heading up guitar duties, with Andy Curran of Coney Hatch and Soho 69 overseeing bass/programming as well as producer extraordinaire Alfio Annibalini on keyboards. However, the star in this band could very well be its youngest member – American singer-songwriter Maiah Wynne – whose wonderfully emotive vocals are able to spin the music in new exciting directions that thrill to the core. Envy Of None are back with their much anticipated second album, Stygian Wavz,  released on Kscope  March 14th. Chester Thompson Talks New Music and New Supergroup 'Cosmic Cathedral'

PROG SUPERGROUP COSMIC CATHEDRAL RELEASING DEBUT ALBUM FEATURING NEAL MORSE…CHESTER THOMPSON…PHIL KAEGGY…BYRON HOUSE… ZOOM SPECIAL EDITION WITH EX GENESIS DRUMMER CHESTER THOMPSON ON INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS   Hello everyone and we are back for another edition of Interviewing the Legends… I'm your host Ray Shasho. How do you make an album that is different to what is usually expected of you? One answer is to work with musicians who also have decades of experience and worldwide recognition, plant a few seeds, then stand back and see what happens. For the Cosmic Cathedral project and their debut album ‘Deep Water', this is exactly what Neal Morse did, joining up with Chester Thompson, Phil Keaggy & Byron House. As Keaggy comments: “It was an honor to be invited and included in the making of the Deep Water project with Neal, Chester and Byron.” Much of the album was created from jam sessions where Morse's long-time audio partner Jerry Guidroz put the best parts together, then Morse and the band developed them into songs and epics. “Much of the album, and certainly “Time To Fly”, came directly from the jam sessions, where we were spontaneously creating in the room. Even a lot of the lyrics just came out of our mouths! It was amazing!” What resulted from all this was a more groove-orientated feel, which Morse calls a “prog meets yacht rock meets The Beatles” kind of album, with an unmistakable jazz fusion influence: “These guys are real groovers: even if they're playing proggy stuff, it has more of a Steely Dan feel to it, but when Phil and I start singing it sounds like The Beatles! In Deep Water, the ‘New Revelation' section is based on a jam that turned into something that could have been on a Sting album! So, there's a lot of variety here.” And Chester Thompson says, “I am super excited for people to hear this album. There was great communication between all the players. One of my favorite projects I've ever been a part of!” And coming from someone who's played with Genesis and Frank Zappa, that's quite a statement! The album will be available as a Limited CD Digipak, Gatefold 2LP & as Digital Album. Hello everyone and we are back for another edition of Interviewing the Legends… I'm your host Ray Shasho. UK Progressive Rock group Solstice announce 8th studio album, Clann due on April 4th, 2025. New single "Firefly" out now! Voted Best Band in Prog magazine's latest annual Reader's Poll. BIO: Voted Best Band in Prog magazine's latest annual Reader's Poll, and arriving on an exuberant wave of positivity created by previous albums Sia (2020) and Light Up (2022), both widely acclaimed within the prog community and beyond, Clann completes the most recent phase of Solstice's 40-plus year career. As band founder, composer, and guitarist (winner of Prog magazine's most recent Best Guitarist Prog Award) Andy Glass explains, “[Sia] made me realize the potential and by the time we were working on Light Up the whole band had raised its game. I believed then that a trilogy of albums was what it would take to create our best work and track that journey. Clann is the final album in the Sia Trilogy and it's everything I'd hoped it would be. Let's hope the universe likes it too.” Clann manages to cover a great deal of musical ground in its nearly 40-minute running time. Solstice will be supporting the release of Clann with a strings of live dates including festival appearances in the UK, Europe and north America. In the 1980s, as one half of the brilliant pop duo Double, Kurt Maloo coauthored and sang the most enduring hit Switzerland has ever produced: “The Captain of Her Heart.” “The Captain Of Her Heart” remains a firm favorite and is still part of Maloo's live repertoire. Internationally the most successful Swiss song of all time and regularly makes it into the jazz and pop download charts throughout the world. The song captures the moment when a woman realizes she can no longer wait for the man who has won her heart, but must move on to a new life, “as the day comes up.” This melancholic optimism is central to both Maloo's poetry and his music.  “Off The Record” is Kurt Maloo's latest project a collection of songs released on an EP starting with volume 1 released in 2023 and volume 2 released this year. Reviving his 1966 Fender Strat and singing in Spanish (for the first time) on one of the songs, might not be what you were used to hear on his previous albums. ART ROCK/POST PROG GROUP ‘DAYS BETWEEN STATIONS' RELEASING NEW ALBUM ‘PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINES' ZOOM EXCLUSIVE WITH OSCAR FUENTES BILLS & SEPAND SAMZADEH MUSIC VIDEO “SEEDS” OUT NOW!   Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. Days Between Stations are releasing their fourth album, “Perpetual Motion Machines (Music For A Film),” on November 29.  Recently released is the music video “Seeds.” The music video for “Seeds” features artist Jean-Paul Bourdier BOO DWA at work, altering landscapes, coloring bodies, marking up film frames, playing with manufactured items to see how they influence visuals.   “Perpetual Motion Machines (Music For Film)” is the result of DBS founding members keyboardist Oscar Fuentes Bills and guitarist Sepand Samzadeh working on the music for a documentary film about Jean-Paul Bourdier, himself, in the mid-2010s. As the music reached completion, the group was offered the opportunity to release their music as a “proper” album. Sepand says, “Jean Paul's artwork was our muse, and we scored the music to pictures and to existing films.” Pink Floyd backup vocalist Durga McBroom sings on “Being,” which will be released as a video. The album is dedicated to the memory of "Big" Bill Kaylor who engineered early sessions of “Perpetual Motion Machines” and worked on the group's second album, “In Extremis.”  The band has a history of music in films-dating back to “Radio Song” (from the debut album) licensed in the independent film “Young, Single & Angry” in 2006 and then in 2023 in “Paul & Trisha: The Art of Fluidity,” now featured on Apple Movies. NEAL MORSE & THE RESONANCE ANNOUNCE NEW RELEASE ‘NO HILL FOR A CLIMBER' AND LAUNCH FIRST SINGLE “ALL THE RAGE' EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL EVENT ON INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS WITH RAY SHASHO! Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. Neal Morse is an American singer, musician and composer based in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1992, he formed the progressive rock band Spock's Beard with his brother Alan, he joined Dream Theater's co-founder and then drummer Mike Portnoy, formed the super-group Transatlantic. In 2002, Neal Morse became a born-again Christian, left Spock's Beard and began a Christian rock solo career, releasing many progressive rocks concept albums about his new religious faith, He continued to play with Transatlantic and formed three new bands with Portnoy, Yellow Matter Custard, Flying Colors and The Neal Morse Band. One of his most recent projects included two critically acclaimed solo releases with D'Virgilio, Morse & Jennings. Throughout his long career, Neal Morse has often been a musical collaborator, usually with some of the greatest prog musicians across the world. This time, Morse has brought that collaborative spirit closer to home. The new album by Neal Morse & The Resonance – entitled ‘No Hill for A Climber' will be released  November 8th, 2024, and the title is taken from a resonant line in Barbara Kingsolver's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Demon Copperhead. PLEASE WELCOME AMERICAN SINGER,SONGWRITER,MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST NEAL MORSE TO INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS … PREORDER NO HILL FOR A CLIMBER BY NEAL MORSE AND THE RESONANCE OFFICALLY REALEASED NOVEMBER 8TH Pre-order now here: https://nealmorse.lnk.to/NoHillForAClimber To coincide with the announcement, the track ‘All The Rage' has been launched with a brand new video. Watch it now here: https://youtu.be/BSXjvdHqADk?si=F_0g0Inzs48UoJvy “Awesome album! I can safely say this will be a fave of the year for me!” – Mike Portnoy Faithful to any Neal Morse prog album, ‘No Hill For A Climber' features two epics (the 28 minute ‘No Hill For A Climber' and ‘Eternity In Your Eyes', which clocks in at 22 minutes) as well as three shorter songs: ‘Ever Interceding', ‘All The Rage' and ‘Thief'. The latter, Morse admits, is his current favorite: “It's so different… it's in all these different sections, and I'm really happy with the way each part has come out. It's pretty crazy. There's even a really cool King Crimson-style instrumental bit in the middle that Chris Riley originally came up with at the Radiant School a couple of years ago.” For all of these reasons, Morse believes that the whole album is unique, but notes that “if I was going to compare its structure to an album I've done in the past, it might be along the lines of ‘Bridge Across Forever' or Spock's Beard's ‘V'; it's not that it sounds at all like those albums, it's just structurally similar. It has voices and playing styles and soundscapes that many people will have never heard before! Everyone you work with changes you a little bit, so even sound a little different on this one, but I hope that everyone will love it!”   FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT NEAL MORSE & RADIANT RECORDS VISIT https://nealmorse.com/ Official website https://nealmorse.com/morsefest-2024-2025/ Morsefest official website https://www.facebook.com/nealmorse/ Facebook https://x.com/nealmorse Twitter https://www.instagram.com/neal_morse_official Instagram https://www.youtube.com/user/NealMorseMusic/featured YouTube   TOUR DATES Moresefest November 8, 2024 - November 9, 2024 White House, TN Morsefest 2024 USA @ New Life Fellowship November 15, 2024 - November 16, 2024 Zoetermeer, The Netherlands Morsefest 2024 EU @ De Boerderij January 17, 2025 - January 18, 2025 Brentwood, London, UK Morsefest 2025 UK @ Trinity Church   NEAL MORSE Discography With Spock's Beard Main article: Spock's Beard § Discography The Light (1995) Beware of Darkness (1996) The Kindness of Strangers (1998) Day for Night (1999) V (2000) Snow (2002) Singer-songwriter albums Neal Morse (1999) It's Not Too Late (2002) Songs from the Highway (2007) Songs from November (2014) Life & Times (2018) Late Bloomer (2024) Neal Morse & The Resonance No Hill for a Climber (2024)   Prog albums Testimony (2003) One (2004) ? REVERED AMERICAN GUITARIST/SINGER/SONGWRITER/JOHN WESLEY ON TOUR WITH ALT ROCK BAND VERTICAL HORIZON: EXCLUSIVE ON INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS WITH RAY SHASHO! Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. John Wesley has built a long and varied career as a songwriter, “sideman” guitarist, and recording artist. His music has been called lyrically sensitive and musically dynamic. His songwriting style incorporates emotionally charged vocals that evoke the honesty and intimacy of Roger Waters and Patty Griffin coupled with a melodic yet intricate guitar style reminiscent of David Gilmour, Alex Lifeson, Jeff Beck, and Warren Haynes. Wesley's guitar-driven acoustic and electric songs represent the cultivation of many inspirations — alternative, progressive, art, and classic rock genres intertwined with poignant lyrics drawn from the poetry of the common man. What really appeals to Wesley's fans worldwide is a spark of sincerity and sensitivity so oft absent in today's mainstream music In 2021, Wesley began touring as a guitarist and backing vocalist for alternative rock band from D.C. DUTCH PROG ROCK GROUP DILEMMA RELEASE NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO “THUNDER” FROM FORTHCOMING THIRD ALBUM ‘THE PURPOSE PARADOX': ZOOM EXCLUSIVE WITH DRUMMER COLLIN LEIJENAAR ON INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS LIVE FROM THE NETHERLANDS.   Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. BIO: At the end of this summer, on September 20, modern progressive rock band DILEMMA presents its third full length album, ‘The Purpose Paradox'. This concept album, spanning over 60 minutes, will be released on CD, double LP and via all streaming platforms, and distributed internationally by Butler Records, a division of V2 Records. It features 9 brand new tracks ranging in length from 4 to nearly 16 minutes. The sound showcases a broader side of DILEMMA — louder, faster, more technical, more progressive. With new frontman Jermain van der Bogt (Wudstik), the vocals have become rawer and more varied. Almost six years after the previous record ‘Random Acts of Liberation' the band sounds reborn. Like its predecessor, ‘The Purpose Paradox' was produced by drummer Collin Leijenaar, who, together with the famed music wizard Rich Mouser (The Mouse House, LA), was also responsible for the mix and mastering. Thanks to their unmatched ears, the result is an audio experience that DILEMMA has worked on with great pride over the past years. Collin made a name in the progressive rock scene by becoming the drummer, bandleader and tour manager in the European live band of Neal Morse (Transatlantic/Flying Colors) where he subbed for Mike Portnoy (Transatlantic/Flying Colors/ex-Dream Theater). But he is not only a musician but also a successful entrepreneur. His main company is Novae (NO VEE) Popschool, a modern music school which is operating in The Netherlands. To date his music school has grown into an organization with over 500+ students and a team of 35 teachers, staff members and volunteers and has several locations across cities in The Netherlands. BRUCE KULICK 'THE LOST INTERVIEWS' with RAY SHASHO EPISODE 17 INTERVIEWED JUNE 22ND 2015 Got to Get Back is the latest release by KKB, a 1974 power trio that featured lead guitarist Bruce Kulick, singer/bassist Mike Katz, and drummer Guy Bois. It's a hard driving/progressive rock sound reminiscent to the styles of Cream, YES, and King Crimson. The band may have even become legendary if it hadn't been for their lack of professional guidance. The title track …“Got to Get Back” is a brand new song. Kulick says … “I thought the way we could celebrate it the best after 40 years was actually to record a new song with the same guys, I gave Mike a riff that I thought was similar to the kind of progressive /metal trio style we did back in 1974 and he ran with it and turned into a terrific song.” Got to Get Back by KKB is a timeless gem performed by three first-rate musicians. (5) Stars! BRUCE KULICK was a veteran guitarist for “The Hottest Band In The World” … KISS! It was during the unmasking period for the legendary rockers who officially appeared in public without makeup in an appearance on MTV in 1983. Kulick would join KISS as their fourth lead guitarist in less than three years and holds title to the longest continuous tenure of anyone other than Simmons and Stanley (September 1984 to August 1996). Although Kulick never wore the band's iconic makeup, he says …“It keeps my era a little bit more unique and sacred in a sense and I'm there to waive the flag for it.” Bruce Kulick played on (5) KISS studio albums … Asylum, Crazy Nights, Hot in the Shade, Revenge, Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions. Kulick also appeared on Alive III and KISS Unplugged. The song "I Walk Alone" from Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions is the only KISS track to feature Kulick as lead vocalist. To date, Kulick is featured on more than (20) KISS releases. The ‘Farewell Tour' featured original KISS members Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. Frehley left the group after the tour but Kulick was not asked to return as their lead guitarist; instead Tommy Thayer became the new spaceman for KISS. Kulick did however continue to work with the band by contributing on several albums. In 1997, Kulick formed ‘Union' with lead vocalist/guitarist John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, Ratt), drummer Brent Fitz (Slash, Vince Neil), and bassist James Hunting (David Lee Roth, Eddie Money). ‘Union' released (2) studio albums, two singles: "Old Man Wise" and "October Morning Wind," and a live album. Since 2001, Bruce Kulick has been the lead guitarist for Grand Funk Railroad. The original band was a power trio that featured current band members Don Brewer and Mel Schacher. I had the great please of chatting with Bruce Kulick recently about his latest release Got to Get Back with his first band KKB … Becoming a longtime guitarist with KISS … Playing with Grand Funk Railroad … Touring … Tommy Thayer … A new solo album? … The shock of being shot …My infamous ‘Field of Dreams' question … and much-much more! Here's my interview with the monstrous guitar player for KKB, Meatloaf, Blackjack w/Michael Bolton, KISS, Union, and Grand Funk Railroad … BRUCE KULICK.     Support us on PayPal!

Pat Simmons was introduced to future Doobie Brothers bandmates Tom Johnston and John Hartman by Moby Grape's Skip Spence in 1969 forming the foundation to what would eventually be one of the most esteemed classic rock bands in history.  Pat is usually identified as the Doobie Brother with the longest hair. His heartfelt vocal styles are significant to the band's success. He's an important musician with eclectic musical styles and tastes. Some of his many compositions with the band include the classic “Black Water” (which became their first number one hit) “South City Midnight Lady,” “Dependin' On You,” “Dangerous,” “Echoes Of Love” and “Clear as the Driven Snow.” His on-stage presence is both surreal and overwhelming during his solo of “Jesus Is Just Alright.” Here's my interview with singer, songwriter, guitar virtuoso, and founding member of The Doobie Brothers … Patrick Simmons Doobie Brothers official website http://www.doobiebros.com/ Patrick Simmons musical credits on allmusic.com http://www.allmusic.com/artist/patrick-simmons-p20546/credits     Support us on PayPal!

Legendary musician Guy Pratt, known for working with the likes of Pink Floyd played the bass guitar on seven of the eight tracks on Pure Reason Revolution's new album. The band tells fans to expect more ambitious bass lines in Coming Up To Consciousness than they've heard in any previous Pure Reason Revolution albums. The band was equally thrilled to work with multiple members of prog icon The Pineapple Thief; the record was mixed by Bruce Soord and mastered by Steve Kitch.  Jon Courtney comments: “Spawned from the bereavement after my dog was put down, a numb & dry creative spell ensued, but after a meeting with my writer friend Craig Walker (Archive/Power of Dreams) & sharing how the last months had been, he urged me to get this experience down in lyrics & music. Tom Johnston 'Doobie Brothers Legend' on 'The Lost Interviews with Ray Shasho'

TOM JOHNSTON THE DOOBIE BROTHERS ‘THE LOST INTERVIEWS' with RAY SHASHO EPISODE 15 INTERVIEWED FEBRUARY 17TH 2013   The Doobie Brothers are one of those bands that we've depended on, year after year, and expect to see performing invariably at outdoor music festivals, pavilions, arenas, casinos and bike week events across the nation. The group has been exhilarating audiences for decades yet appear timeless onstage. One of the principal reasons for the longevity and success of the Doobie Brothers has a lot to do with an unmitigated affection shared between the band and its audience. It's been an amazing love affair that has persevered for over forty-two years. When the Doobie Brothers finally call it quits … rock ‘n' roll will probably call it quits too.  Tom Johnston is the voice, lyricist and guitarist on numerous classic hit recordings by the Doobie Brothers. Inspired by listening to R&B music on the radio, California native Johnston started his first band at 14, eventually broadening his musical horizons by singing with soul and blues groups. After moving to San Jose to finish college, Tom met Skip Spence, original drummer for the Jefferson Airplane. Spence introduced Johnston to drummer John Hartman. Spence was also a founding member of Moby Grape which had a major influence on the Doobie Brothers. Tom Johnston, John Hartman and bassist Greg Murphy formed the power trio “Pud.” When “Pud” unraveled, the evolution of the Doobie Brothers began to take shape. While living in a home dubbed as their “musical headquarters,” guitarist Patrick Simmons and bassist Dave Shogren joined the group. The band quickly generated a huge following in California. In 1971, the Doobie Brothers launched their self- titled debut album, The Doobie Brothers on the Warner Brothers label with legendary producers Ted Templeman and Lenny Waronker. The first track on the album, “Nobody” penned by Tom Johnston, would later resurface in 2010 on their latest release, World Gone Crazy. Their second studio album Toulouse Street (named for a street in the French Quarter of New Orleans) introduced new bassist Tiran Porter and second drummer Michael Hossack (Navy Veteran). The album spawned the Tom Johnston penned classic hits, “Listen to the Music” (#11 Top 100 Billboard Hit -1972), “Rockin' Down the Highway” and “Jesus Is Just Alright,” (#35 Billboard Top 100 Hit -1973) written by Arthur Reynolds (1965) and performed by The Byrds (1969). In 1973, the Doobie Brothers released, The Captain and Me spotlighting some of the bands most memorable classic rock tunes penned by Tom Johnston … “Long Train Runnin'”(#8 Billboard Hot 100 Hit) and perhaps the bands anthem song, “China Grove” (#15 Billboard Hot 100 Hit). The Captain and Me also featured a guest performance by future Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan guitarist Jeff “Skunk” Baxter. The Doobie Brothers fourth studio album, What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits released in 1974 spawned the Tom Johnston penned songs, “Another Park, Another Sunday” (#32 Billboard Hot 100 Hit) and “Eyes of Silver” (#52 Billboard Hot 100 Hit). The album also featured Pat Simmons penned tribute to “The Big Easy,” “Black Water” (#1 Billboard Hot 100 Hit -1975). Stampede released in 1975 was the final album before Michael McDonald took over lead vocalist duties from an ailing Tom Johnston. The album featured the cover version, “Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me A Little While)” (#11 Billboard Hot 100 Hit -1975) written by the Motown team of Holland-Dozier-Holland. Subsequent albums …Takin' It to the Streets (1976), Livin' on the Fault Line (1977), Minute by Minute (1978) and One Step Closer (1980) featured a successful second incarnation of the band, which primarily consisted of Michael McDonald(vocals, keyboards) Patrick Simmons (guitars/vocals) Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (guitars, steel guitars), Tiran Porter(bass, vocals), John Hartman (drums) and Keith Knudsen (drums). *Tom Johnston played and sang “Turn It Loose” and “Wheels of Fortune” on the album Takin' It to the Streets. John McFee was added to the Doobie Brothers lineup in 1979 replacing Jeff “Skunk” Baxter and was featured on One Step Closer. After a successful run, the band's signature sound and direction became disillusioned. While working on his solo project, Tom Johnston rejoined the band for a Farewell Tour, and then the Doobie Brothers would call it quits as a band for the next five years. The reformation of the Doobie Brothers was contrived when the band's alumni were asked by drummer Keith Knudsen to perform at a concert to benefit veterans' causes. The band discovered that tickets were in great demand and soon embarked on a twelve-city tour.   In 1989, Cycles, the tenth studio recording by the Doobie Brothers, now on Capitol Records, witnessed the return of Tom Johnston and drummer Michael Hossack to the studio as a band. Tom Johnston's distinctive vocals returned, and the band re-established their musical roots. Subsequent releases … Brotherhood (1991), Sibling Rivalry (2000) and World Gone Crazy (2010). World Gone Crazy was the Doobie Brothers highest charting album since 1989 receiving rave reviews and featuring the longtime core lineup of Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons. The Doobie Brothers band functions like a well-oiled machine, touring consistently year after year and enchanting music enthusiasts worldwide. The current lineup of Tom Johnston (vocals/guitar), Pat Simmons (vocals/guitars), John McFee (guitar/strings/vocals), John Cowan (bass), Guy Allison (keyboards/vocals), Marc Russo (saxophones), Ed Toth (drums) and Tony Pia (drums)… represent a musical legacy that defines the quintessence of rock ‘n' roll and a band that we've always depended on throughout the years. The Doobie Brothers have sold more than 40-million albums worldwide. …So why aren't they in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?   Tom Johnston and the Doobie Brothers will be performing live as part of the Bands, Brew & BBQ concert series at Busch Gardens in Tampa on Sunday, February 24th. THE GEORGIA THUNDERBOLTS TRIUMPH WITH ‘RISE ABOVE IT ALL' INCREDIBLE NEW ROCK ALBUM: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH LEAD SINGER TJ LYLE! Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. The Georgia Thunderbolts have announced their highly anticipated sophomore album, 'Rise Above It All,' set for release on August 23rd via Mascot Records. Featuring the quintet's signature blend of Southern rock, blues, and heartfelt Americana, the 13-track album showcases the band's ability to navigate a vast array of musical terrains, while also capturing the profound emotional and artistic growth fostered by their years on the road. The road to being hailed as the new torchbearers of Southern rock hasn't been as glamorous as you might imagine for The Georgia Thunderbolts. It wasn't many years ago that the guys busked at gas stations, fumbled through covers, and drove four hours to Alabama to play to a bartender and a three-legged dog sitting on a barstool. The most transformative experience for the band has been the month back in 2022, The Georgia Thunderbolts spent touring Europe with Black Stone Cherry. None of them had been across the pond before, and it was the longest they had been away from home. All the growth and maturation over the past two and half years can be heard on ‘Rise Above It All.' The 13-song collection is a flag-planting album, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter as The Georgia Thunderbolts continue to rise and resonate with audiences worldwide. Chris contributed significantly to Jones's world tours and recordings throughout the 60s. Slade was a founding member of Manfred Mann's Earth Band in January 1971. He was to spend seven years with the band, recording eight albums and achieving three UK Top Ten singles in the process: 'Joybringer' (No. 9, October 1973), ‘Blinded By The Light' (No. 6, September 1976 & a multimillion selling #1 in the USA) and ‘Davy's On The Road Again' (No.6, June 1978). Chris became the drummer of AC/DC over the course of the next five years, playing on their acclaimed 'Razors Edge' Album, and giving a killer performance on their concert DVD “Live from Donington.” After his stint with AC/DC, Chris joined the prog-rock band Asia, Chris recorded with them on their 2000-2004 studio recordings, 'Aura' and 'Silent Nation' , and put forth his trademark energy-filled live performances on all the subsequent tours that ensued over the next five years. Between 2005 and 2010, Slade played drums for German guitarist Michael Schenker before forming THE CHRIS SLADE TIMELINE in 2012, and at that time marking 50 years as a professional rock drummer. THE CHRIS SLADE TIMELINE has announced their new album "Timescape" which will be released worldwide on July 19th on BraveWords Records. "Timescape" contains completely original new tracks and some of Chris Slade's favorite covers. Feat: Chris Slade, Bun Davis, Stevie Gee, James Cornford, Michael J Clark • THE CHRIS SLADE TIMELINE was formed in 2012 with handpicked musicians to celebrate my then 50-year career as a professional rock drummer since starting with Tom Jones at 16 years of age, taking in Manfred Mann, The Firm with Jimmy Page and AC/DC along the way. • We, as The Chris Slade Timeline band have toured UK and Europe extensively playing hits of this lengthy career. After being asked many times if we were going to produce any new original songs of our own, I finally decided to put pen to paper and do something about it, so with the help of my band mates I present TIMESCAPE, our debut album. This album includes a playlist of 9 original songs and a selection of hits from the many artists I have been privileged to perform with over the last 60 years. I hope you enjoy it!   “Side one which consists mostly of original material is an eclectic and innovative mix of awe-inspiring hard and heavy progressive rock melodies, the album plays out much like a discerning Rock Opera. Timescape is a gratifying and artistic musical concept. Side two features an incredible selection of exceptional covers spotlighting many of the band's Chris has been a member of over his illustrious 60-year career. Ross Valory Former Journey Bassist Releases Transcendent Debut Solo Album!

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho.  Ross Valory always had pieces of music tucked away that he had written, although songwriting contributions to Journey slipped away after the first three “experimental” albums. As an original member of the multi-platinum juggernaut of “Don't Stop Believin'” fame, bassist Valory concentrated on shaping the rhythm section and contributing his baritone vocals to the background blend. In 1995, VALORY began sorting through his files and polishing up some of his old notes. In between Journey tour dates, he pulled together a tight-knit group of collaborators and slowly began to finish what he started. After a lifetime in music, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer etched his first solo album, All of the Above, released in April this year. The nine tracks on the album represent the full maturity of Valory's musical gifts, cutting a broad swath through the instrumental territory the music travels. He plays keyboards, guitar, and, of course, many basses in a display of cultivated virtuosity across a palette far broader than could be found in his work with Journey. He is stepping out from behind his bass and, for the first time in his more than half-century as a professional musician, representing his vision and his compositions. Valory, who spent most of his life as a member of Journey, has no regrets. He counts his blessings at having spent an amazing career with a remarkable group of musicians who succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. Valory brings a lifetime in music to his solo excursions. All of the Above, a true labor of love, represents a culmination of his experience, at the same time as it points to the future. “Whatever came into my ears and brain came out in various ways,” he said. “I have been revisiting material that has been piling up over the years off and on and carrying it forward.” Please welcome rock and roll hall of famer… bass guitarist, singer, songwriter most recognized for playing with the legendary Journey …ROSS VALORY to Interviewing the Legends …   PURCHASE THE MOST RECENT RELEASE BY ROSS VALORY Entitled ALL OF THE ABOVE Available at amazon music “ROSS VALORY'S NEW SOLO ALBUM ENTITLED ‘ALL OF THE ABOVE' IS TRANSCENDENT AND RIVETING! Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. KAIPA was the leading Scandinavian progressive band in the 70's and recorded five albums during the years 1975 - 1982. Their albums contained mostly instrumental music, drawing its influences from classic progressive rock bands (CAMEL, YES, GENESIS...), and classical music (BACH). Taking basic inspiration from Swedish folk music they performed an elaborate symphonic aiming at the expression of emotions and feelings in an aesthetic of formal beauty and melodic perfection. Initially the project of keyboardist Hans Lundin and bassist Tomas Eriksson, the band soon grew to include drummer Ingemar Bergman and singer/guitarist Roine Stolt, the latter of whom would eventually go on to form the Flower Kings. Twenty years passed before Lundin and Stolt re-formed a new edition of Kaipa, producing their sixth album, 2002's Notes from the Past. While the group's first five albums were sung entirely in Swedish, Notes from the Past was notable for launching their English-language phase, which continued each subsequent release. Although Stolt again departed, leaving Lundin to captain the band through its next decade, which produced a prolific four LPs. Kaipa has remained a staple of the Inside Out Music label. And now in 2024 Kaipa are back! In the summer of 1964 Hans Lundin's musical career started when he became a member of his first band as organist and singer. He says that the following years were "the best education I could ever get". Nine years later in 1973 he formed the group KAIPA. Now 60 years into his career he and his current bandmates Per Nilsson, Jonas Reingold, Darby Todd, Patrik Lundström & Aleena Gibson are proud to announce the release of Kaipa's 15th studio album Sommargryningsljus (Summer Dawn Light). The dawn theme has always been close to Hans Lundin's heart in his songwriting. With the new album he closes the circle and returns to where it all began. NORMAN GREENBAUM ‘THE LOST INTERVIEWS' with RAY SHASHO EPISODE 13 -INTERVIEWED Dec 6th 2011 "When I die and they lay me to rest Gonna go to the place that's the best When I lay me down to die Goin'up to the spirit in the sky"   Norman Greenbaum is considered by many music experts to be a one-hit wonder.  But when the lyrics to that hit meant so much to so many and with eternal impact… then who cares? Greenbaum's “Spirit In The Sky” echoed an inspirational message of optimism for hope of an afterlife. The song reached #3 on the Billboard charts and sold two million singles by 1970, and during an important transitional period in music that witnessed Album-Oriented Rock formats overshadowing Top 40 singles on the airwaves. Greenbaum created one of the most recognizable guitar riffs in rock and roll history using an industrial fuzz tone. Released in 1969, “Sprit In The Sky” has stood the test of time. Greenbaum states, “Motorists actually still pull over to the side of the road when they hear the song being played on the radio.” And the song continues to be a heavily requested tune at funerals. Rolling Stone magazine ranked “Spirit In The Sky,” #341 on the list of top ‘500 Greatest Songs of All Time.' Countless musicians have mimicked their version of the celestial composition including Elton John, DC Talk, Darrel Mansfield, The Stovall Sisters (The back-up singers on the original recording), Doctor and the Medics, Nina Hagen, and Norman's favorite cover version, The Kentucky Headhunters.  “Spirit In The Sky” has been featured in countless movies, TV series and commercials. The song has also been spotlighted on the 2008 music video game- Rock Band 2, enlightening a whole new generation of “Spirit” advocates. Norman Greenbaum began a music career as a member of Dr. West's Medicine Show and Junk Band. Their sole hit was, “The Eggplant that Ate Chicago” (#52 on Billboard's top 100) in 1966. Greenbaum departed the band and began a solo career under the direction of producer Erik Jacobsen (Lovin' Spoonful, Sopwith Camel, Chris Issak). Raised of the Jewish faith, Greenbaum states that there wasn't much resentment from the Jewish Community over his Christian-like lyrics, especially his reference to Jesus. The only true criticism came from the Christian side who were not very pleased with his lyric… “Never been a sinner I never sinned.” Greenbaum says, “I just didn't know better at the time.” Today Norman Greenbaum is 69 years old and lives in Northern California. His 1969 metaphysical one- hit wonder continues to be adored and emulated by countless fans. Most recently Peter Frampton covered “Spirit In The Sky” on William Shatner's latest album, Seeking Major Tom. Norman enjoys sponsoring races at the local fair. He says, “All it consists of is getting around thirty friends together, having a party, and getting your picture taken with the winning racehorse.” He's also won a bunch of blue ribbons entering various works. Here's my interview with Songwriter/Vocalist/Guitarist/Rock and Roll Icon/ and a very amusing and hip guy… Norman Greenbaum. TRINI LOPEZ (May 15, 1937 – August 11, 2020) ‘THE LOST INTERVIEWS' WITH RAY SHASHO EPISODE 12 Interviewed November 28th 2014 Trini Lopez is an international music legend best known for recording classic covers and converting them into danceable songs by adding his own special spin and flavor. Lopez not only makes those notable tunes danceable, but he usually outsells all other artists who have also covered those songs including the recordings by the original songwriters.     Born in Dallas, Texas, his Father Trinidad Lopez II was a singer, dancer, actor, and musician in Mexico. Trini's parents moved to Dallas when his dad was eighteen seeking a better life. Trini learned to play guitar from his father and played for money on street corners. He eventually began performing in clubs around the affluent parts of Dallas. Lopez even performed at a club owned by the notorious Jack Ruby. A true rock and roll visionary … Lopez uncannily wrote and recorded a song called “The Right to Rock” released on a small label called Volk Records in 1958. After hearing the single, King Records offered Trini a three-year contract. The only chart hit for Lopez on the King Records label was a Skyliners cover called “Since I Don't Have You,” Trini's rendition reached #10 on the Cashbox and Billboard charts. After one of Trini's performances Lopez met with another Texan, rock and roll pioneer Buddy Holly. Holly tried to help Trini by inviting him to meet with his record producer in Clovis, New Mexico. Lopez became great friends with Buddy Holly and The Crickets. Holly was killed in a plane crash along with Richie Valens and The Big Bopper on February 3rd 1959. Several months after the crash, Lopez received a phone call to come out to Hollywood, California to become the new lead singer of The Crickets. The Crickets plans never materialized and Lopez took a job at the Ye Little Club in Beverly Hills. The one-year run led to a historic engagement at the famous PJ'S nightclub. It was at PJ'S where Lopez landed his big break. Frank Sinatra took notice of Trini's one-man act and had Don Costaoffer him an eight-year recording contract on Sinatra's label Reprise Records.  Trini's first two albums were recorded live at PJ'S and successfully launched an incredible music and acting career for the impending international superstar. ENGELBERT HUMPERDINK 'THE LOST INTERVIEWS' WITH RAY SHASHO EPISODE 11   British entertainer Arnold George Dorsey (stage name Gerry Dorsey) had limited success as a singer, but in 1967 Engelbert Humperdinck became an overnight sensation and a household name worldwide. Humperdinck recorded one of the best-selling singles of all-time; a number-one hit song entitled “Release Me,” which thwarted The Beatles efforts of reaching the top of the charts with their double A-sided record, “Strawberry Fields Forever /Penny Lane.” “Release Me” held the number-one slot on the UK Pop charts for six weeks and remained on the charts for a record fifty-six consecutive weeks, selling 80,000 copies a day. Humperdinck superseded the success of “Release Me” with “There Goes My Everything” and “The Last Waltz, “sweeping the Top 40 Pop charts that same year. Engelbert's charisma, good looks and magnificent vocals mirrored performers such as Elvis Presley and Tom Jones, and it quickly became evident that a new singing sensation had conquered and charmed the music world. Humperdinck's sex appeal captivated a huge female fanbase which became known as the Humperdinckers, and throughout the 70's, Humperdinck sustained the hits on the Top 40 airwaves …“Am I That Easy to Forget,” “A Man Without Love (Quando M'Innamoro),” “Les Bicyclettes de Belsize,” “The Way It Used To Be,” “I'm A Better Man (For Having Loved You),” “Winter World of Love,” “Sweetheart,”  ”When There's No You,” and “Another Time, Another Place.” Engelbert Humperdinck's albums released throughout the 60's and 70's … Humperdinck relentlessly toured the world in front of adoring sold-out audiences and became a hot commodity and mainstay attraction on the Las Vegas and Atlantic City Strips. When he wasn't on the road, he'd be in the recording studio generating the hits. His last major Pop hit on the Top 40 charts came in 1976 with the brilliant and graceful “After The Lovin'” composed by Ritchie Adams and written by Alan Bernstein. In 1979, Humperdinck spawned his fourth number-one hit on the Easy Listening charts in the U.S. with, yet another Adams/ Bernstein composition entitled “This Moment In Time.” In 1983, Engelbert released his last charted single “Til You and Your Lover Are Lovers Again.” In 1999, Humperdinck released The Dance Album which featured newly recorded dance versions of six of Engelbert's greatest hits, along with five original songs. The album landed in the Top Ten on the Billboard Dance charts. Most Recently: Engelbert Humperdinck released his highly anticipated and critically acclaimed double-CD entitled… “Engelbert Calling” which features incredible duets with some of the world's most recognized names in music … including Elton John, Willie Nelson, Olivia Newton-John, Gene Simmons, and many-more. The album is released by OK! Good Records, and produced by Grammy Award-winner Martin Terefe, who is well-known for his work with Jason Mraz, James Morrison, KT Tunstall, and Mary J Blige. … I gave “Engelbert Calling” by Engelbert Humperdinck (5) Stars! Engelbert Humperdinck's career spanned nearly five decades. He's sold more than 150- million albums world-wide, including 24 certified with platinum status and 63 with gold, four Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe for “Entertainer of the Year” (1988), and earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Engelbert has solidified his name as an international Pop legend and has established himself as one of the world's most influential artists. At 78, Humperdinck continues to tour the world and record in the studio, and like a fine wine, he just keeps getting better. Engelbert is happily married to Patricia, his wife of 50 years. The couple has 4 children and 9 grandchildren. He's managed by his son Scott Dorsey/Dorsey Productions. I had the wonderful pleasure of chatting with one of my favorite singers about his critically acclaimed release … ‘Engelbert Calling' …Engelbert's follow-up releases upcoming ... McCafferty has fired up live audiences across the globe for 45 years with a heavy dose of undisputed hardcore crooning power. Dan McCafferty will pass the microphone over to Nazareth's new frontman, 41-year-old Linton Osborne of Rosyth, Scotland. McCafferty will cease touring but will not cease recording in the studio. In fact, McCafferty and Nazareth have recently released a mammoth new hard rock gem entitled ‘Rock ‘N' Roll Telephone.' NAZARETH: Over the years …critics and music aficionados alike have correlated Dan McCafferty's vocal styles with such artists as AC/DC's Brian Johnson, Slade's Noddy Holder, and Humble Pie's Steve Marriott. The band supported Deep Purple on tour during several occasions which led to Purple's bassist Roger Glover producing their third studio album entitled Razamanaz (1973). Subsequent Glover produced albums included … Loud ‘N' Proud (1973) and Rampant (1974). In 1975, while looking for a new direction, Nazareth appointed lead guitarist Many Charlton as their new producer. The band's new order resulted in their biggest selling album to date entitled …Hair of the Dog. The album spawned the self-titled hard rock classic “Hair of the Dog” and their popular Top 40 hit “Love Hurts” (1975 #8 U.S. Billboard Hot 100) a cover track penned by Boudleaux Bryant and first recorded by The Everly Brothers (1960) and Roy Orbison (1961). Nazareth has maintained modest popularity in the U.S. while enjoying significant acceptance in Europe. Across the globe, Nazareth remains a consistent concert-pleaser. DAVE EDMUNDS ROCKABILLY LEGEND 'THE LOST INTERVIEWS' EPISODE 8 Guitar hero DAVE EDMUNDS has never followed music trends, and throughout what Edmunds jokingly remarks as a “semi-retired” music career, has probably been more devout and grateful to the original rock and roll format than any other musician. Edmunds recently released his new album entitled ‘Rags & Classics' via the MVD Entertainment Group. It's an all-instrumental masterpiece that displays Edmunds' proficient guitar work along with his brilliant multi-instrumental and production skills. Recorded in his home studio, most of the cover tracks on the new album have never been performed as an instrumental and are extremely difficult to implement as a one-man band.  I really enjoyed ‘Rags & Classics,' Edmunds did a remarkable job handpicking singles that are classics but rarely relished. Some of the more notable tracks are the Brian Wilson &Tony Asher “God Only Knows,” and the Elton John &Bernie Taupin ballad “Your Song,” Both tracks are remarkable instrumental renditions while acquainting the listener to a fresh prospective to an ageless classic. ‘Rags & Classics' delivers an eclectic mix of captivating musical gratification … you'll be delightfully swayed by Edmunds' intricate instrumental renderings of Mason Williams' “Classical Gas,” Procol Harum's “A Whiter Shade of Pale,” tracks from Dave's guitar heroes … Chet Atkins “Black Mountain Rag,” and Merle Travis “Cannonball Rag,” and a surprisingly but phenomenal finale to an exceptional album, Mozart's Symphony No.40 in G Minor, Molto Allegro. Everyone will truly enjoy ‘Rags & Classics' by guitar legend Dave Edmunds. ... (5) Stars! DAVE EDMUNDS, Welsh guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer has collaborated with some of the greatest musicians the world will ever know, including longtime pal George Harrison. Edmunds is a 1950's rock and roll purist and remains a loyalist to this day. After his stint with the blues/rock band Love Sculpture, Edmunds scored big with his cover hit “I Hear You Knocking” (1970), a song written by Dave Bartholomew & Earl King and first recorded by Smiley Lewis in 1955. Edmunds' rendition added authentic rock and roll dynamism and landed at #1 at Christmas on the UK charts and #4 on Billboard's Hot 100 in the U.S.  It sold over three-million copies, was awarded a gold disc, and became a rock and roll standard worldwide. In 1976, Edmunds began collaborating with British musician/singer/songwriter/producer Nick Lowe (Brinsley Schwarz) on several albums. Lowe and Edmunds were signed to different record labels and couldn't record together as ‘Rockpile' until 1980 when they released Seconds of Pleasure, their only album to feature the ‘Rockpile' band name. Drummer Terry Williams and guitarist Billy Bremner were also in the group. Critics and music enthusiasts adored Rockpile. Edmunds describes Rockpile's short and sweet musical career as a party band for four years which they never took seriously. Rockpile was also hailed as a band that laid the groundwork for ‘new wave.' Between 1976 and 1981, Dave Edmunds released four albums on Led Zeppelin's Swan Song Records. After Edmunds and Lowe went their separate ways, Edmunds collaborated and produced albums for an assortment of friends and musicians including … Paul McCartney, King Kurt, Stray Cats, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Status Quo, the Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash, and the Flamin' Groovies. Edmunds also collaborated with singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and record producer Jeff Lynne of the Electric Light Orchestra. Edmunds released a song written by Lynne entitled “Slipping Away” which became a Top 40 hit in 1983. In 1985, Edmunds arranged and became the musical director of Blue Suede Shoes: A Rockabilly Session, a televised concert held in London, England, featuring … Edmunds, Carl Perkins George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Eric Clapton. It was the first public performance by George Harrison in more than ten years. Dave Edmunds was selected to play in Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band for tours in 1992 and 2000. Studio albums: -Love Sculpture: Blues Helping (1968), Forms and Feelings (1970) -Brewers Droop: The Booze Brothers (recorded 1973, released 1989) -Rockpile: Seconds of Pleasure (1980) -Dave Edmunds: Rockpile (1972) ,Subtle as a Flying Mallet (1975),Get It (1977),  Tracks on Wax 4 (1978), Repeat When Necessary (1979), Twangin (1981), D.E. 7th (1982), Information (1983), Riff Raff (1984), Closer to the Flame (1990), Plugged In (1994),Hand Picked: Musical Fantasies (1999), Again ( 2013), Rags & Classics ( 2015) I had the rare pleasure of chatting with David Edmunds recently about his new all- instrumental cover album ‘Rags & Classics,' the inception of “I Hear You Knocking,” Rockpile, Nick Lowe, Carl Perkins, George Harrison, my infamous ‘Field of Dreams' question and much-much more! ROGER HODGSON THE VOICE OF SUPERTRAMP 'THE LOST INTERVIEWS'  Episode 7 Roger Hodgson's inspirational lyrics, enchanting vocals and virtuoso musicianship continue to astound audiences worldwide. Hodgson's distinctive voice and profound musical arrangements have spawned numerous 'Top 40 Hits' for classic rock music legends Supertramp. Some of Roger's most distinguished classics include, “Give a Little Bit,” “The Logical Song,” “Take the Long Way Home,” “Breakfast in America,” “Dreamer,” “School,” “It's Raining Again,” and “Fool's Overture.” After performing to jubilant sold-out audiences worldwide, 'Supertramp's Roger Hodgson' returns to the stage in 2013 on a new global excursion. Roger will be making a rare appearance at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida on Friday, March 22nd and for the first time in the U.S.; Hodgson will be performing with a Rock Symphony Orchestra. After the release of their third studio album, Crime of the Century in 1974, Supertramp quickly captured the attention of music critics and aficionados across the globe. Crime of the Century was a superlative release. The creative writing collaboration of Hodgson and Davies, although contrasting, began a highly successful commercial period for a group comprised of highly esteemed musicians. Roger Hodgson penned; “Dreamer” became Supertramp's first big hit. The album also featured two beautifully composed arrangements by Hodgson entitled ... “Hide in Your Shell” and “If Everyone Was Listening.” Supertramp became a sought-out concert attraction because of their awe-inspiring musical abilities and riveting onstage presence. Their shows often spotlighted a movie projection that displayed the Crime of the Century album cover, an image of two hands clutching jail cell bars while floating in space. The projection synchronized hypnotically with the music above the stage. Subsequent albums … Crisis? What Crisis? (1975) and Even in the Quietest Moments (1977) which produced “Give a Little Bit” (#15 on Billboard's Pop Singles chart). In 1979, Supertramp released what would become their highest selling album, Breakfast in America. The album spawned four U.S. Billboard Hit singles… “The Logical Song” (#6 Hit), “Take the Long Way Home” (#10 Hit), “Goodbye Stranger” (#15 Hit) and “Breakfast in America” (#62 Hit). The album remained on top of the charts worldwide and eventually sold over 20-million copies, becoming one of the biggest selling albums of all-time. Supertramp made an amazingly smooth transition from a progressive rock scheme over album-oriented rock airwaves to mainstream Top 40 radio, and without compromising or sacrificing musical integrity. The bands next album, ironically entitled …Famous Last Words (1982) would be the last featuring vocalist/lyricist/keyboardist and guitarist Roger Hodgson. The album reached #5 on Billboard's Pop Album Charts and was certified Gold. To date ... Supertramp has sold over 60- million albums. Roger Hodgson officially left Supertramp in 1983 to pursue a solo career. In 1987, after his second solo album was released, Hodgson fell and shattered both of his wrists. Doctors said he would never play music again, but his strong faith, positive thinking, self-healing efforts, and physical therapy would prove the medical profession wrong. Within a year and a half, Roger was playing his music once again. Roger Hodgson released three solo albums since leaving Supertramp … In the Eye of the Storm (1984), Hai Hai (1987) and Open the Door (2000). He also released a live album entitled, Rites of Passage (1996). In 2001, Roger was invited to play with Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. The band's lineup also featured Ian Hunter (Mott the Hoople), Greg Lake (Emerson, Lake, and Palmer), Sheila E., Howard Jones and Mark Rivera. In 2006, Hodgson released his first ever DVD entitled, Take the Long Way Home –Live in Montreal. The solo release achieved platinum status in just seven weeks. The following year, Roger accepted an invitation by Princes William and Harry to perform at the ‘Concert for Diana' in front of an audience of 65,000 people at Wembley Stadium. “Give a Little Bit,” “Dreamer,” “Breakfast in America” and “It's Raining Again” were among Diana's favorite songs. The concert was broadcast in 140 countries around the world. Roger Hodgson's most recent release, “Classics Live” is an incredible collection of his live performances recorded from his '2010 world tour.' There are also 60 unreleased songs that Roger plans to record when the time is right. I had a wonderful opportunity to chat with Roger Hodgson recently before the launch of his worldwide tour. Roger's music continues to inspire and offer hope for people everywhere. His spirituality and positive vibrations were felt throughout our entire conversation. Roger is a true delight.     Support us on PayPal!

MICHAEL PINDER MOODY BLUES LEGEND 'THE LOST INTERVIEWS' EPISODE 5 Michael Pinder was affectionately labeled “Micky the Moonboy” as a youth for his preoccupation of the moon, stars, music and electronics. But who could have predicted that a silly nickname perhaps more suited for a sci-fi cartoon superhero would forecast his destiny. Pinder's fascination with the cosmos and a life-changing realization that we are not alone in the universe became the basis for composing intricate and surreal musical masterpieces. Michael played Hymns on the piano in Church every Sunday at his Colonel's request; in return Pinder received an early discharge from the British Army. Pinder asked for the early-out after hearing The Beatles “She Loves You” on the radio. Ten days later, Pinder was back in Birmingham, England. He quickly found a job working with Streetly Electronics where he learned the mechanics of the Mellotron. Michael Pinder would become an illustrious keyboardist and trendsetter for the instrument. In 1964 … Michael Pinder (piano, organ and vocals) and Ray Thomas (tambourine, flute and vocals) formed The Moody Blues along with members …Denny Laine (guitars, harmonica and lead vocals), Clint Warwick (bass guitar and vocals) and Graeme Edge (drums and vocals). The R&B/Rock/Pop Birmingham band scored a Top 10 hit in the U.S. with “Go Now” (1965) from their debut album The Magnificent Moodies. The Moody Blues became part of ‘The British Invasion' and supported The Beatles on their final UK tour in December of 1965. They followed the tour with their first trip to the U.S. appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show. In 1966 … after the departure of Denny Laine and Clint Warwick … The Moody Blues reformed with old friend John Lodge (bass guitar and vocals) and Justin Hayward (lead vocals and guitars) who was recommended to Pinder by Eric Burdon of The Animals. The band had an awakening after a disgruntled audience member visited their dressing room complaining about their music. The group immediately changed their musical direction and style, hence … the commencement of one of the most amazing transformations in rock history. Meanwhile …Michael Pinder suggested to his friend John Lennon that The Beatles use the Mellotron on Magical Mystery Tour …and they did. Pinder's Mellotron influence is undeniably detected on “Strawberry Fields Forever.” Pinder and bandmate Ray Thomas were also invited to play harmonica on the tracks… “I Am the Walrus” and “The Fool on the Hill.”  “In 1967 …The Moody Blues first attempt at a dissimilar musical direction had consummated with an awe-inspiring masterpiece entitled… Days of Future Passed. It would be the first Decca/Deram Records release in stereo. Michael Pinder's Mellotron ingrained a brave new transcendental manner and Progressive Rock was born. The proficient players of The Moody Blues were also accompanied by The London Festival Orchestra while creating the band's first concept album. Days of Future Passed spawned two of the band's biggest commercial hits with its new lineup … “Nights in White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon.” Pinder wrote the tracks… “Dawn is a Feeling” and “The Sunset.” Pinder's dramatic reading of “Late Lament” added a mind-blowing conclusion to a superlative album. Producer Tony Clarke's influence also had a huge impact on the group. The Moody Blues subsequent release … In Search of the Lost Cord (1968) was recorded without an orchestra … although Pinder's ingenious performance on the Mellotron often sounded like a symphony. Pinder composed “The Best Way to Travel” and “Om” on the album. “Ride My See-saw” became a commercial hit for the band. In 1969 … The Moody Blues released On the Threshold of a Dream. The group's signature sound became exclusive to the rest of the rock world. Pinder had considerable songwriting duties on the album with … “So Deep Within You,” “Have You Heard (Part 1),” “The Voyage,” and “Have You Heard (Part 2).” Inspired by the 1969 moon landing …To Our Children's Children's Children was their first album released on the band's newly formed Threshold Records. The band followed the critically acclaimed release with … Question of Balance (1970). Pinder penned … “How Is It (We are Here)” and his proverbial classic … “Melancholy Man.” Every Good Boy Deserves Favour was released in 1971. For the first time, the entire band lyrically collaborated on “Procession” the opening track. Michael Pinder also penned the final track on the album entitled … “My Song.” The release spawned yet another Top 40 hit with … “The Story in Your Eyes.” Also in 1971 … Pinder played tambourine on John Lennon's Imagine album on the track … “I Don't Wanna Be A Soldier Mama.” Seventh Sojourn released in 1972 brought an end to the classic Moody Blues era. Michael Pinder penned … “Lost in a Lost World,” and “When You're a Free Man.” The album also spawned… “I'm Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band) and became one of the bands highest charting hits reaching #12 on Billboard's Hot 100 in the U.S. Pinder also substituted the Mellotron with its precursor the Chamberlin. In 1976 …Pinder released his solo album entitled … The Promise.  After a lengthy hiatus, The Moody Blues released Octave (1978). Michael Pinder departed the band during the sessions but contributed… “One Step Into the Light.” Pinder was replaced by YES Swiss keyboardist Patrick Moraz. Without Pinder's Mellotron and Chamberlin influence, The Moody Blues intricate progressive period was over. The Moody Blues continue to tour and record as a band with Justin Hayward, John Lodge and Graeme Edge (the only original band member left in the group).  In 1994 …Pinder released his solo effort … Among the Stars (a private mail order release). MOST RECENTLY … Esoteric Recordings has released Michael Pinder's 3-Disc CD & DVD set of ‘The Promise (1976) & Among the Stars' (1994) plus new bonus material featuring Michael's sons (The Pinder Brothers) and Ray Thomas (The Moody Blues) on flute. Spooky Tooth quickly became a highly sought concert attraction and a mainstay on progressive rock radio. The band shared the stage with such legendary music acts as Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones. Ian Gillan Legendary Deep Purple Singer On 'The Lost Interviews' Episode 3

IAN GILLAN DEEP PURPLE LEGEND THE LOST INTERVIEWS EPISODE 3    Ian Gillan is the legendary charismatic frontman for one of the greatest bands in rock and roll history. Deep Purple is essentially known for its hard rock pulse. Its musical schemes have encompassed progressive rock, blues, R&B and even jazz. Keyboardist Jon Lord received a telegram from Tony Edwards stating that he'd back Lord in putting a band together; later Edwards called Ritchie Blackmore to meet with him. In December of 1967, the two musicians met up and collaborated for the first time. John Lord had already asked Nick Simper to play bass, a former bandmate with ‘The Flower Pot Men.' While living in Hamburg, Germany, Ritchie Blackmore saw drummer Ian Paice performing onstage with his band The Maze. The group was fronted by singer Rod Evans. Evans auditioned for the lead vocalist role for a scheming new (Deep Purple) band and won the spot. Blackmore remembered Paice from Hamburg and asked Evans to bring him along. Blackmore and Lord were a bit worried that Evans mannerism was much like Tom Jones or Engelbert Humperdinck. Jon Lord later stated, “We'd eventually beat him into shape.” In 1968, Deep Purple was officially formed. The band was named after a Nino Tempo and April Stevens song of 1963, believed to be Ritchie Blackmore's grandmother's favorite song. Deep Purple's musical styles intentionally mimicked the American rock group Vanilla Fudge (“You Keep Me Hangin' On”). The group quickly scored commercially with their Top 40 hit single “Hush” (#4 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart) and became overnight sensations in the U.S. Ritchie Blackmore's vision for the band was to implement heavier rock techniques, and while Rod Evans and Nick Simper were in the group it may never have been accomplished. After Rod Evans was dismissed from Deep Purple, he went on to form Captain Beyond in 1971. Ian Gillan and bassist Roger Glover were performing at Woodford Green in London with their British pop rock band ‘Episode Six.' Their lead singer Ian Gillan was noticed by Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Lord. After watching Gillan's performance, they offered him the lead singer position for Deep Purple. Eventually Roger Glover would be asked to join the band, while securing one of the greatest music lineups in rock history. Also in 1972, under resistance by the band, they recorded a double live album in Japan entitled, Made In Japan. The album was essentially the Machine Head tour. The band recorded (3) concerts ... (2) in Osaka and (1) in Tokyo. Most of the material came from the second night in Osaka. Made In Japan also went platinum and the live version of “Smoke on the Water” became instrumental to the song's success. Smoke on the Water” (#4 Hit on Billboard's Hot 100) was officially released as a single in 1973 and became one of the most recognizable guitar riffs in rock and roll history. Deep Purple were now international superstars in the studio and on the road. At the peak of their success, Ian Gillan gave a six month notice and stated that he was leaving the band after fulfilling all of his commitments in 1973. The album Who Do We Think We Are was released in January of 1973. The release generated the hit single “Woman from Tokyo.” “Smoke on the Water” was also busy that year becoming Deep Purple's biggest hit of all-time.  Who Do We Think We Are was the last studio album to feature Ian Gillan as their lead singer until the 1984 reunion LP Perfect Strangers. Deep Purple did six American tours before Ian Gillan and Roger Glover left the band. The grueling touring schedule and fatigue became the reason for their early departure from the band. In 1973, the band had eleven different entries in Billboard and became the top-selling artists in the U.S. But without its lead singer and bass player the band felt like it was the end. Deep Purple brought in several lineups through the years. Lead singers that included David Coverdale and Joe Lynn Turner, guitarists Tommy Bolin and Joe Satriani and bassist Glenn Hughes. There have also been band reunions that have included the original Deep Purple core lineup. Sadly, founding member, keyboardist and songwriter Jon Lord died in 2012. Ritchie Blackmore and his wife Candice Night currently perform together with their medieval folk rock band Blackmore's Night. Ian Gillan is the son of a school teacher mother and a factory worker father. Gillan came from a musical family; his grandfather was a bass-baritone and sang opera, and his uncle was a jazz pianist. Ian was a boy soprano in the church choir when he was young. Besides being the legendary voice of Deep Purple, Gillan also sang the role of Jesus on the original recording of Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. He also recorded with his solo bands the Ian Gillan Band (1975-1978) and Gillan (1978-1982). Gillan was also the lead singer of Black Sabbath (1982-1984). Ian Gillan performed in the charity group Rock Aid Armenia and later (2011) participated in the supergroup ‘WhoCares,' a continuing effort by Gillan to help the people of Armenia after a devastating earthquake. The group was comprised of Gillan, Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Jon Lord (Deep Purple), Jason Newsted (Metallica), Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden) and Mikko “Linde” Lindstrӧm (HIM). They recorded the songs … “Out of My Mind” and “Holy Water” which is included in a 2-CD compilation of rarities from the music careers of Ian Gillan and Tony Iommi. Proceeds from the CD helped rebuild a music school in Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia. Gillan and Iommi received the Armenian Presidential Medal of Honor for their humanitarian efforts.     Support us on PayPal!

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. The Kings, originally formed in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Oakville, Ontario, are a Canadian rock band formed in 1977.  They gained prominence with their 1980 hit song “This Beat Goes On/Switchin' To Glide,” which resonated in both the United States and Canada. The original lineup was David Diamond (lead vocals, bass, songwriter), Sonny Keyes (vocals, keyboards, songwriter), Max Styles (currently Todd Reynolds) (drums), and Mister Zero (guitar, songwriter). The Kings toured extensively with artists like Bob Seger, Jeff Beck, The Beach Boys, and Eric Clapton. They appeared on Dick Clark's American Bandstand and headlined the major Heatwave festival in August. Despite challenges in the late 1980s, The Kings experienced a revival when “This Beat Goes On” and “Switchin' To Glide” became radio hits in Chicago once again and received substantial play. The band continued touring throughout Canada and the U.S. during the remainder of the decade. The Kings most recent album is entitled ‘The Longest Story Ever Told' and now in 2024, The Kings, with their history of hits, over 2000 North American shows, and a devoted fan base, remain a hungry band with something to prove. "The Longest Story Ever Told" reaffirms their status as a rock band with songwriting depth. When asked, “Is there a theme for the album?", guitarist Mister Zero replied, “I don't think there is one other than trying to get 10 really good songs together”. Susanna Hoffs 'Bangles' Legend The Lost Interviews Episode 2

'SUSANNA HOFFS BANGLES LEGEND THE LOST INTERVIEWS' Susanna Hoffs is the beautiful, talented & iconic vocalist for the commercially successful all- female pop/rock/new wave/ band ‘The Bangles.' Hoffs angelic and awe-inspiring vocals are definitive on such Bangles classics as …“Manic Monday” (1985 #2 US Billboard Hit), “Walk Like an Egyptian” (1986 #1 US Billboard Hit), “If She Knew What She Wants” (1986 #29 US Billboard Hit), “Hazy Shade of Winter” (1987 #2 US Billboard Hit), “Walking Down Your Street” (1987 #11 US Billboard Hit),“In Your Room” (1988 #5 US Billboard Hit), and the breathtaking “Eternal Flame” (1988 #1 US Billboard Hit). Hoffs is also ‘The Bangles' rhythm guitarist and songwriter. THE BANGS: After Susanna Hoffs graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied theatre, dance, and art, she headed back to Los Angeles and placed an ad in The Recycler, an LA based classifieds newspaper. A trio began to form with the addition of Sisters Vicky Peterson (vocals/guitars) and Debbi Peterson (vocals/drums) while subsequently adding Annette Zilinskas on bass. After short stints with names such as ‘The Colours' and ‘The Supersonic Bangs,' the newly formed all-girl band eventually settled on ‘The Bangs' while swiftly becoming a vital part of the Los Angeles Paisley Underground scene. The Bangs debut single “Getting Out of Hand” was released on their label DownKiddie Records and caught the attention of KROQ deejay Rodney Bingenheimer who repeatedly played the record on his show. THE BANGLES: ‘The Bangs' were auspiciously mandated to change their name so the group dropped ‘The' and added the letters ‘les' to form ‘Bangles,' a banner that would flourish into one of the greatest all-female groups in rock and roll history. In 1982, under new manager Miles Copeland, The Bangles supported The English Beat on a UK tour. In 1983, the group made its first appearance on Dick Clark's American Bandstand. In 1984, ‘All Over the Place,' The Bangles first full-length album was released on CBS (Columbia) Records. Michael Steele had replaced Annette Zilinskas on bass. Steele began her music career as Micki Steele with The Runaways. ‘All Over the Place,' spawned the singles”Hero Takes a Fall,” and “Going Down to Liverpool” which featured Susanna's childhood neighbor and family friend Leonard Nimoy. The Bangles popularity escalated and was asked to join such acts as ‘Cyndi Lauper' and ‘Huey Lewis and the News' on tour.   Susanna Hoffs and The Bangles had captivated the attention of R&B/Pop/Funk/ music artist & songwriter ‘Prince.' Prince offered his penned single “Manic Monday” (1984) to The Bangles and the group promptly brought the tune into the recording studio. “Manic Monday” (1986) became The Bangles first big hit peaking at #2 on Billboards US Charts. Their second studio album ‘Different Light' (1986) produced by David Kahne peaked at #2 on the US Billboard Charts and is considered to be their most successful to date. Also in 1986, The Bangles opened for 'Queen' at Slane Castle, Ireland.   In 1987, “Walk like an Egyptian” won Best Video at the 15th Annual Music Awards and again at the 5th Annual American Video Awards. ‘Everything' (1988) The Bangles third studio album spawned the Top 5 Hit “In Your Room,” and their worldwide #1 single “Eternal Flame” penned by Susanna Hoffs, Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. The Bangles attained a well-deserved hiatus throughout the 90's but returned with rock and roll vengeance in 1999. They released their fourth studio album entitled ‘Doll Revolution' in 2003. Bassist Michael Steele officially left The Bangles in 2005 and the band decided to use guest bassists while on tour. The Bangles most recent album ‘Sweetheart of the Sun' was released in 2011. In January of 2014, The Bangles returned to the legendary Whisky A GO GO to celebrate the club's 50th anniversary. SUSANNA HOFFS: In 1991, Susanna released her debut solo album entitled ‘When You're a Boy' produced by David Kahne. The album spawned the Top 40 hit single “My Side of the Bed.” The release featured such musical luminaries as John Entwistle, Jim Keltner, and Donovan. In 1996, Susanna Hoffs released her second studio album entitled ‘Susanna Hoffs.' Based on a Saturday Night Live stint in the early 1990's, Hoffs performed in the band ‘Ming Tea' with … Mike Myers, Matthew Sweet, Christopher Ward and Stuart Johnson. The SNL skit morphed into a three comedy film series ... Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997), Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002). Jay Roach, Susanna's husband directed the Austin Power series and ‘Ming Tea' performed in all three movies. In 2006, Susanna collaborated with alternative rocker Matthew Sweet under the name ‘Sid n Susie,' and released ‘Under the Covers' Volumes 1, 2 &3 featuring classic rock cover songs of the 60's,70's, and 80's. In 2012, Susanna released her critically-acclaimed studio album entitled ‘Someday.' Susanna's vocals are more radiant than ever. Hoffs collaborated with musical partner Andrew Brassell and producer Mitchell Froom on her best solo album to date. All the tracks are co-penned by Susanna Hoffs. Hoffs & Brassell continue to co-write music and hope to release a new album sometime in 2015. ‘Susanna Hoffs' performs at The Satellite in Los Angeles on July 18th with special guests Fred Armisen and Petra Haden. ‘The Bangles' kicked off their summer concert series on June 6th at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, California … click [Here] for a complete ‘Bangles' tour listing. PETE BEST WHERE HAVE ALL THE ROCK STARS GONE? Rock and Roll, the Blues, and Jazz are America's contribution to the arts, so why are we not fighting to preserve our own musical legacy and culture? Rooted from the early blues pioneers, the longevity of rock and roll is second to none. But strangely enough those legendary rock heroes that we were so accustomed to hearing every time we turned on our radios had mysteriously vanished from the mainstream. The music of the 1960's, 70's and even the 80's was an important juncture in all of our lives. So many of us timeline life's precious moments with the music we remember, when the music was so great, when the music mattered. The baby-boomer generation is financially imperative yet many of its entertainment standards have been renounced. One day, the plug was pulled on those legendary music artists. Hackers began stealing music across the internet. Online music stores popularized cheap digital singles and neglected to promote full-length albums. Radio stations changed formats to accommodate talk show radio jocks while rappers and electronic dance music menaced the airwaves. Notorious record companies began folding in droves. Record companies and radio stations that were once owned and operated by visionaries were now run by accountants and lawyers and the music world began promoting untalented wannabes. The economy plummeted, and radio stations became more concerned about how many consecutive commercials they could run instead of providing quality radio programming and entertainment value. Radio stations became corporate machines leaving no room for innovation. Throughout the 2000s, recording studios and live performances began using an audio processor called "Auto-Tune" to disguise off-key inaccuracies in vocal tracks. The device allowed virtually anyone without music skills to become a singer and new waves of mainstream radio stars were instantly fabricated. The business of music became stronger and more important than the art of music. For more than a decade, I've been on a rock and roll pilgrimage to help promote and save the greatest music the world has ever known. Before the internet and Napster, virtuoso musicians traditionally introduced their music by way of mainstream radio stations while anxious music enthusiasts hurried to their favorite record stores and purchased a copy of the artist's latest release. Talk radio wasn't popular because there was way too much great music to play over the airwaves. Advertisers didn't rule the airwaves, the music did. Rock legends toured the world to promote their latest albums and prices of concert tickets were extremely affordable. Proficient musicians, singers, and songwriters are what made the music so great. Andy Tillison Leader of Prog Rockers 'The Tangent' New Music 'To Follow Polaris'

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. Andy Tillison is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and the leader of the progressive rock group The Tangent. The Tangent, hailing from Northern England, weaves cinematic and lyrical music, often addressing observations about our world. Their compositions defy traditional prog rock norms, embracing influences from various genres, including jazz, modern pop, progressive rock and more. Notably, the band avoids the stereotypical 12-string acoustic sound associated with classic prog rock, preferring a fresh and eclectic approach. The band's philosophy centers around openness to contemporary bands and styles, transcending the boundaries set by the '70s prog rock icons. Their debut album, The Music that Died Alone, released in 2003, garnered attention as a “supergroup” project, although Tillison prefers to describe it as “a good idea” rather than a supergroup. Through personnel changes and fluidity, The Tangent continues to create music that defies conventions and resonates with listeners. The Tangent recently announced the release of a new studio album ‘To Follow Polaris' on May 10th, 2024.  The album was produced between January and November of 2023. The brand-new release features Andy Tillison using his multiple keyboards system but adds to the mix his first ever released performance on Bass Guitar and his second on stick driven (electronic) drums. Add electric and acoustic guitars and an electronic wind controller and this is a full band recording in every sense of the word. The band reconvened in Berry's own Soundtek Studios in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2023 to bend, shape, hammer and caress their diverse musical talents into 11 impressive new tracks.  With this album, they continue to define and build upon their unique melodic space, welding guitar-driven rock, metal and prog into a unique and powerful sonic setting. The bands self-titled debut, released in 2022, established the trio as a power chord-driven celebration of artistry, passion and persistence. Prog Magazine said that the record was “exciting, often potent and demands repeated listens”, while Classic Rock Magazine called it “an inspired opening salvo that bubbles with chemistry.” SIX BY SIX is …  Ian Crichton best known as one of the founding members of Saga, alongside his brother Jim. Saga went on to sell roughly 10 million albums world-wide and continues to perform around the world.   Nigel Glockler best known as the drummer for British metal band SAXON. His powerhouse drumming is the engine that drives SiX By SiX's songs forwards relentlessly. Robert Berry, moved to the UK to work with guitarist Steve Howe (of Yes fame) along with drummer Nigel Glockler to revitalize GTR. When GTR stalled, Robert partnered with British rock legends Keith Emerson and Carl Palmer to form ‘3'.  With Emerson and Palmer, Robert achieved a top ten charting single and toured the USA. Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. Michael Cartellone was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1962. He attended the Cleveland Institute of Art at the age of four, with his focus set on the Visual Arts. Indeed, Michael intended a career in Visual Arts for the next five years, until he began drumming at the age of nine. He completely threw himself into drumming, playing his first professional gig at a bar at the age of eleven, although he never stopped painting. Cartellone continued studying both drumming and painting simultaneously, throughout his grade school and high school years. By the time he graduated high school, he was performing four nights a week, earning his living as a musician; yet at the same time, he had begun selling his paintings. As he explains it, "music and art have always been two halves of a whole." At the age of twenty-two, Cartellone moved to New York City to further his career. He worked in the art department of a large clothing manufacturer in the garment industry by day and played the drums by night. It was during this time that he had his first gallery show, at King Street Gallery in the Washington D.C. area. His move to New York City was a true springboard for his music career. Before long, he found himself in a new band called "Damn Yankees", which went on to multi-platinum status. Other recording and /or touring credits include John Fogerty, Cher, Peter Frampton and Freddie Mercury. In 1998, Cartellone joined the legendary Southern Rock Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, where he can currently be seen on tour throughout the world. Please welcome the founding member of Damn Yankees and current drummer of Lynyrd Skynyrd since 1999. American drummer and artist MICHAEL CARTELLONE to Interviewing the Legends. Terry Reid 'Superlungs' Legendary Singer,Songwriter,Musician, Exclusive Interview!

TERRY REID ‘SUPERLUNGS' THE LEGENDARY SINGER WHO TURNED DOWN LED ZEPPELIN AND DEEP PURPLE: A SPECIAL EVENT ON INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. Terry Reid, ‘Superlungs' as he's affectionately known, is without doubt one of the greatest rock/soul voices ever produced or is indeed likely to. A Terry Reid concert should be a cherished memory for any self-respecting fan of the greats of British music. Terry turned down the front man's job with Led Zeppelin, recommending his mate Robert Plant instead, a similar offer and rebuff to Deep Purple. Aretha Franklin's stated that The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Terry Reid were the best England had to offer in 1968. He underwent two World Tours with The Rolling Stones, US tours with Cream, UK tours with Jethro Tull and Fleetwood Mac, The Isle of White Festival in 1969 and Glastonbury in 1970, played at Mick Jagger's wedding, before soured record deals resulted in Terry leaving Britain for America nearly 40 years ago. All true, but the full story includes numerous collaborations with Graham Nash, covers of Reid songs by Marianne Faithfull, The Hollies, The Raconteurs (the hugely popular ‘Rich Kid Blues'), film soundtracks, including a song in George Clooney's  film ‘Up In The Air', and a catalogue of 6 studio albums, including the seminal album ‘The River', re-released to critical acclaim in 2002 and the 1976 Nash produced ‘Seed of Memory'. A Reid song ‘Horses Through a Rainstorm' also features on CSN's box set. Terry's most recent release is entitled ‘The Other Side of the River' and released an incredible live album entitled ‘Terry Reid Live in London.' PLEASE WELCOME LEGENDARY SINGER SONGWRITER AND MUSICIAN OFTEN REFERRED TO AS SUPERLUNGS…TERRY REID TO INTERVIEWING THE LEGENDS … PURCHASE  THE LATEST RELEASE BY TERRY REID The Other Side of the River A double LP housed in a Stoughton gatefold "tip-on" jacket. Remastered from the original analog tapes. Track notes by Terry Reid. 6 never heard Reid compositions, plus 5 very different alternate takes - all previously unreleased. British musician Terry Reid is a relatively unsung legend. With his incredible voice (that earned him the nickname "Superlungs"), spot-on songwriting, and underrated guitar skills, Reid invented new sounds and others followed suit. His 1973 LP, River, is an under-the-radar but deeply loved album. Our special new release, The Other Side Of The River, features all previously unreleased material from the River sessions, including six never-before-heard Reid compositions and five very different alternate takes of tracks from River. Over the decades, as River went in and out of print, there were rumors of a mythological double album's worth of unreleased material. The rumors turned out to be true, as the entire album was recorded twice: once with British producer Eddy Offord and again with the legendary Tom Dowd. The sessions captured Reid's free-associative mix of folk, blues, rock, jazz, bossa-nova, soul, and samba, recalling at times Tim Buckley and Van Morrison, while featuring some remarkable guests including Gilberto Gil on percussion, Ike & Tina Turner's Ikettes on vocals, and David Lindley, of psych band Kaleidoscope, on violin. The Other Side Of The River includes songs that even Terry had forgotten - rockers in the style of the River track "Dean," Latin grooves with percussionist Willie Bobo, and beautifully sparse vocal material not unlike David Crosby's If Only I Could Remember My Name and John Martyn's Solid Air. available at amazon.com ALSO TERRY REID LIVE IN LONDON Terry Reid returns annually to London to play a residency at the legendary Ronnie Scott's club. Putting together a cracking band, Terry has performed two hours plus sets that have delighted his audiences, and Terry, who says of Ronnie's: The room has a special quality that allows me to talk to you as if you were in my own front room, where one conversation leads into another. That, I suppose, is how I end up playing for over two hours. I must be honest when I say I treasure those moments I spent with you and the kindness you show me. Live In London is the fourteen-track result from one of these performances. Terry and his band perform these songs, spread over two CDs. They capture Terry (nicknamed Super Lungs) as he takes a journey through an emotional landscape that starts with The Frame and passes along the way Rain In The Red Lights, his best known song River, a version of Brian Wilson's Don't Worry Baby and culminates in a two song finish, Seed of Memory and Don't Know Why. Live In London captures a unique performer and his band as they deliver a set of songs that allow them to stretch out and improvise or keep to tight arrangements all the while performing at the tops of their game. Though a contemporary recording, this album harks back to an earlier time when performers had a freer rein on their talents and Terry an amazing singer and raconteur takes full advantage of the space that his rapt audience and the intimate atmosphere generated at Ronnie's grants him. available at amazon.com   FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT TERRY REID VISIT https://www.terryreid.com/ Official website https://www.facebook.com/p/Terry-Reid-100047699059130/ Facebook https://twitter.com/terryreid?lang=en Twitter https://www.instagram.com/superlungsterry/?hl=en Instagram https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNKLYpDqBnk8mVJT8GRq1UA YouTube https://open.spotify.com/artist/12fRdeKejG8BBzybGf0ygk Spotify   UPCOMING SHOWS Fri 3 May 2024: Tuckerton, NJ - Lizzie Rose Music Room Sun 5 May 2024: Media, PA - Media Theater Thu 9 May 2024: NEW YORK, NEW YORK  - PRIVATE PARTY Fri 10 May 2024: New York - The Cutting Room Sat 11 May 2024: N Y, N Y - THE TURNING POINT   TERRY REID Discography Studio albums Bang, Bang You're Terry Reid (1968) Terry Reid (1969) (US title: Move Over for Terry Reid) River (1973) Seed of Memory (1976) Rogue Waves (1979) The Driver (1991) The Other Side of the River (2016) Compilations Super Lungs: The Complete Studio EMI Recordings 1966–1969 (2004) The Most of Terry Reid (1969) MFP5220 Live albums The Hand Don't Fit the Glove (1985) Alive (2004) Silver White Light – Live at the Isle of Wight 1970 (2004) Live in London (2013)   Support us on PayPal!
