State Sanctioned Kidnapping: Will the Mayo Zambada Case See the Same Fate as the Humberto Alvarez-Machain Case? A Legal Expert Weighs-In

On April 2, 1990, Dr. Humberto Alvarez-Machain was abducted by agents of the U.S. Government, from his medical office in Mexico and flown against his will to El Paso, Texas. He eventually appeared in Los Angeles federal court to answer charges he participated in the kidnapping and murder of DEA Special Agent Enrique Camarena. U.S. District Court Judge Edward Rafeedie deemed the kidnapping illegal, dismissed the indictment against Alvarez-Machain and ordered him returned to Mexico. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Affirmed Rafeedie's decision. The case eventually went to the U.S. Supreme Court, where the decision was reversed, and remanded back to the District Court for Alvarez-Machain to stand trial. After the government presented its' case in chief, Judge Rafeedie granted a defense motion for summary judgment and entered a directed verdict of not guilty. Alvarez-Machain went free.On July 25, 2024, drug kingpin Ismael Zambada-Garcia, aka El Mayo, was kidnapped from a residence in Sinaloa, Mexico, by armed gunman working for Joaquin Guzman-Lopez. Guzman-Lopez, also a wanted drug trafficking kingpin, had been negotiating his surrender with the United States for some time. Guzman-Lopez voluntarily arrived in Santa Teresa, New Mexico of his own free will, but brought Zambada-Garcia restrained, with a bag over his head, apparently attempting to sweeten his cooperation deal with the U.S. Government. On this episode of the Truth Nation Podcast, we speak with career prosecutor Sean Carney about both cases and what will likely happen with the Zambada-Garcia case as it winds its' way through the justice system. Carney worked on a portion of the Alvarez-Machain case in the 1990's and is well versed on the extradition treaty issues and supreme court decision that are in play here. Did Joaquin Guzman-Lopez have a cooperation agreement in place? Was he acting as an “agent” of the United States when he conducted the kidnapping and caused multiple murders in Mexico? Did the Government of Mexico file an official protest to this act? Did the U.S. Government make the affirmative decision to circumvent an extradition treaty they had agreed to? Will any of these factors matter in the Zambada-Garcia case? All these questions are answered in this interesting legal analysis.

We Talk About Music

Upbeat and anthemic, WOLVES have just shared their latest single "Pa' Arriba Pa' Abajo" (The Drinking Song) and luckily for us, we got the opportunity to sit and speak with the band to hear the details. Currently based out of Los Angeles, California, WOLVES are an alternative pop music duo made up of Marc Avery and Sean Carney. Together they were inspired by a friend during a recent trip to Mexico, which ultimately transformed into the song you're about to hear today, "Pa' Arriba Pa' Abajo" (The Drinking Song). Transcending genre and pivoting their sound a bit, this is a step into the future for the group, and we're 100% here for it wherever they decide to go. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/wewriteaboutmusic/support

What to Say When equips the reader with proven approaches from the front-lines to help you know exactly what to say (and not say) when abortion comes up; balance converting hearts vs. winning arguments; navigate the changing and bizarre new ways abortion is promoted; and go on offense and stay on topic when defending life.  Pam and Sean also talk about the local beginnings of the 40DFL movement and how it has grown throughout the entire world.  Recent and upcoming news developments are also discussed and the impact that these will have on the pro-life movement in the near furture.

Meet WOLVES, a Los Angeles based duo that is breaking barriers and pushing the boundaries of modern music with their infectious blend of genres. Consisting of songwriters Marc Avery and Sean Carney, the two have created their own unique Pop Alternative sound, coining it “Surf Trap” and have had their music used by BET, MLB, TNT, The CW's “All American”, ESPN, Fast and Furious 9 and have appeared on NBC's SONGLAND season 2.Although WOLVES were born in 2016, neither are puppies to the trials and tribulations of life. Its's quite hard to miss the feeling of the cold Chicago streets in Marc Avery's voice, echoed by Sean's soul melting guitar riffs, heard on their previous EP “Welcome To the Top” . Alongside KAIRO, whose booming bass and dramatic sonics lend way to Marc's playful world play. “Excellent” is a worthy example (as heard on the 2021 NBA All-Star game on TNT) of what they have in mind for their future.“We wondered what it would be like if we took all these different influences we loved—artists like Rihanna, Post Malone, Coldplay, Earth, Wind, and Fire—and rolled them all into one band today,” Marc muses. Their eclectic influences proved to be inspirational, as heard on their debut single “Animal”. Having already earned top spots on the Billboard charts and heavy rotation on Sirius XM Hits 1, the duo hopes to inspire audiences across the globe and increase their evolution as artists and creators. With their new single "BLAST OFF" here to continue the wavy vibes, WOLVES will no doubt continue to press the envelope of the forever changing musical landscape.Mixed and Mastered by Joshi Sagar.
