Y'all thought it was over yet huh? The CharroBoys are back, baby. New studio, new equipment, and same beans. Wet happy to be back discussing the beautiful and tragic lives of working mariachi musicians like ourselves and many of you. We get back into the swing of things with talking about about what we've been up to the last couple of months, playing in rainy weather, the World Cup, people who ask for songs incorrectly, and dealing with intoxicated clients. We're happy to be back, y'all.
Episode 99 is upon us, and as much as we want to do 100 for y'all, the CharroBoys are going on a break. Bringing this show to the best of our ability and availability to you is what makes this show special. In order to make 100 episodes more special, we have to take some time away from the pod to focus on our ourselves and come back even stronger. I have always made this show and it's content a high priority and we cannot let that get in the way of other important factors of our lives. With that being said, we hope you enjoy one more episode for the time being. We can't wait to be back with you, beans. Today, we get into the playing in bounce houses as kids, waiters criticizing your sound system, walking in with a horse, playing for Saul's sister's XV, and clients have hat just want cumbias. Y'all gonna dance for 2 hours or what? Hopefully we're back soon, charros.
The CharroBoys are 98 episodes in. We get into the 16th of September weekend, Mexican vibes af, cuddles, feeling desensitized to funerals, acapella concerts at the planta, meeting at the wrong place part 2, and winning the rifa at the gig. Would you bring Tupperware for food at the gig?
The CharroBoys are dangerously close to 100. Today, we get into having silver teeth kids, college days, Bad Bunny taking our clients, walking in on Aida Cuevas, a late minister, and playing for kids that can't dance. Also, we don't f*ck with cows now smh find out why...
The CharroBoys spent their Labor Day recording for ya. We get into the way we put our suits on, the difference between a performance group and a gigging group, meeting in the wrong spot, rain ruining the party, and ending the night with a 4 hour gig. What's up with Vargas not doing Extravaganza this year?
The CharroBoys out here talking bout life. We get into how life goes unexpectedly, changing career paths, bossy little kids, losing the van to a cow, and playing for the world's strongest man again. Gotta pour one out for the mariachi van, yall. :(
The CharroBoys had so much to talk about that we didn't even get into everything. We got into some good stuff including the viral post on IG discussing the working conditions musicians are put into, twerking ladies, obnoxious guests, Saul almost losing his very expensive violin at the Bermuda Triangle, and if it's better to hire old heads or new gens. This episode is packed with laughs so come holla.
The CharroBoys sit down with their first guest in a long time. We get the opportunity to talk with voz/violin/heartthrob Robert López of Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán. Being the first ever Mexican-American member to join Vargas full-time in its 6th generation, we get into how we get acclimated in the mariachi world. We talk about the gigs he was doing at 7 years old, impromptu Sol de Mexico audition, and balancing his life between living in LA and performing with the world's greatest mariachi. Big thanks to the homie for letting us spend some time with him.
The CharroBoys stay cookin'. In this episode we get into the elementary school years, people's voices, getting finessed by the meseras, playing at a sports bar for two nights, starving, and last minute gigs at the jefecita's house. Why do older charros feel the need to put down the younger generation?
The CharroBoys are killin' it. We get into US history, armonia instruments, lil trip to SA, getting threatened with work til 3am, very public PDA, and super rough traffic after a light drizzle. What's the farthest you've traveled for a gig? 8 hours is enough.

We eat some cake and discuss the past 2 years and also get into playing til 2 am on a Thursday, 2 hours turning into 4 hours at a party where the requests don't stop, playing at venues that felt like saunas, and waiting for fights at a gig. Thanks for supporting us up til now, y'all.
The CharroBoys kinda messed up their 2 year anniversary. Whoops. But we still get into it with this episode by reflecting on the last couple years playing in one group, seeing mariachis out of their traje, guys impressing girls with songs, wearing fake nails for the first time, and getting deceived at the bar.
The CharroBoys get serious for a sec. The community of Uvalde, TX lost 21 lives, something that continues to be a problem in our home state. 21 lives at an elementary school. Nothing has been done to change the laws to obtain these weapons that time and time again have given people the opportunity to murder innocent people. The CharroBoys had a pretty busy week. They get into a little about why mariachi history is important, playing Mi Viejo for a Mother's Day gig, seeing planta regulars outside the restaurant, playing for a boxing quinceañera, forgetting your strap, and playing for what seemed like a college frat party. Christian Nodal and Grupo Firme was on the playlist, of course.
The CharroBoys went through it this year for Mother's Day weekend. It was a loooong weekend filled with all pain and some gain. We get into playing through injuries, cop visits, upset stomachs, hot festivals, Canelo's L, and weird mansions. Our bodies still have not recorvered.
80 episodes with ya bois and still grinding. The CharroBoys get into growing up going to church, illegally downloading music in the early 2000s, playing for a dude that doesn't take no for an answer, and being civilians for a weekend. Bossman got you scoping out talent at the high school? Gotta get musicians from somewhere.
The CharroBoys gigged separately this week. They get into it with talk of their hood in Fort Worth, the return of clients you have broken up with, your boss forgetting you took the day off, unhappy old ladies, and kids beefin at competitions. We're just trynna see people throw hands for the Division I titles.
The CharroBoys are fast approaching to 80 episodes, cuhh. They get into life as a bad student, putting on bad concerts because you didn't practice, playing with a tuba, and smelly venues. Did this place smell like turd or was it the carne? Either way, I'm bout to hurl.

The CharroBoys are in their 75th episode! Lots of work to get to this point All for you, beans. We get into morning cartoons, missing a weekend to be a teacher, how the years pass by, being late to go to Starbucks, and what happens when you finally stop gigging. Why do people stop gigging? Money? Time? Less back pain? We discuss.
The CharroBoys survived the tornadoes to put out an episode for y'all. We get into the crazy weather, blackouts, lasik, Sammy playing guitarron, and playing for señores. Y'all see that video of the guy falling on his guitarron? That hurted, bro.

Don't call it a comeback. The CharroBoys get back in the booth and are back with more new episodes of CharroBeans. We're back and discussing the 3 month hiatus, what we've been up to, toxic partners, gigging with other groups, 2 ice ages in Texas, lack of consistent work, el covid, and coming back to the pod. LA GUADALUPANA TIME IS COMING!
The CharroBoys hardly had work so we winging it. We get into people in your life that taught you about the world, fighting with your barber, Thanksgiving without turkey, getting yelled at by the mariachi boss, getting some armonia help, and super lame quince in OKC. How you gonna hire us for 3 hours and not even try to enjoy the musicians?
Happy Thanksgiving, y'all. Today we give thanks to you for continued support. We get into it today with underwear choices, traje fittings, missing gigs to go to concerts, the effects of Red Bull, clients twerking on you, and change of plans. How we been together all day and haven't played a single note yet? Mariachi life.

The CharroBoys are back from El Paso talking about their experience over there, our older mariachi members still out here on their grind, discuss voice projection at gigs, jet lag, playing in the sun for funerals, and dealing with creepy clients. 2 hours in the sun had us a lil burned
The CharroBoys take the podcast on the road! Live from El Paso Border Folk Festival, the guys speak for the students at the conference talking about the Beans' origin, their common experiences as students, and discuss their mariachi education with the people of El Paso, TX. Really grateful for this awesome opportunity!
The CharroBoys discuss a lil sum sum about supporting your fellow musician friends, playing and paying for good instruments, stress of competition and concerts, and clients thinking you're cheating them. This convo got us stressed in parts. PTSD of people getting panic attacks. Man, crazy times. Can we just play mariachi?
The CharroBoys get into it this week with random body pains, playing at a planta til 2am, playing for rich people, and finishing the night at lit parties. We got a lil too wild this week
The CharroBoys go in on this episode with feeling tired all that time, the dynamic of a group when involving new players, respecting women, and caimanes that break up groups with selfishness. Also people in Texas stay strapped at all times.
The CharroBoys discuss some topics today like college life and professors, letting mariachi control your whole life, gigging while working a full time job, and a little bit of paranormal stories. Clients also always think they're so funny putting down the mariachi. What up with that?
The CharroBoys really did a podcast after gigging smh. We're lowkey sleep deprived at 4am while eating Whataburger, but we get into the weekend's shenanigans including playing for a 20 quinceñeras at once, almost getting bit by wasps, nervous singing, and playing for Don Miguel's family. We forget the Don Miguel is a whole ass man with a family. Like coworkers actually have lives outside of mariachi hahaha
The CharroBoys get into it today with what actually qualifies someone to be called a maestro, ruining the surprise at a party, cockroaches, and not being offered water. All these coolers and not one water, bro. A pero las chelas?
The CharroBoys get in discussion mode today. We get into the present education system in the United States with mariachi as opposed to its home country of Mexico, language barriers, the disconnect of the two, and also a little bit of what happened this past weekend. Nothing disappoints you more than when the food at the gig isn't as good as you hoped it was. *disclaimer: Sammy accidentally confused Nati Cano and Nati de Santiago during the discussion and he barely realized while editing. Vic's fault too for not catching the mistake. Our points are still valid tho. Honest mistake. Ok byeeeee*
The CharroBoys get into it today, y'all. We get into your changing body into adulthood, why is it so hard to get a traje in the US, what it was like to gig in Gaspar-times, and anything but this past weekends gigs. We been having fun lately on these episodes. Hope you enjoy the shenanigans.
We're back! The CharroBoys return to the pod. Come hang out as we catch you up with what we've been up to, talk about taking trips, young children's honesty, insecurity, what makes a mariachi section strong, and back to school. Damn, we missed y'all.
The CharroBoys are back with one more episode before taking a hiatus. We get into taking time off, the city of Fort Worth, ghosts, social media, getting old, playing a full hour at the wrong place. Why didn't anyone stop us? Smh
The CharroBoys sit down with Saul Flores, violinist/voz with Mariachi Allende. We discuss his beginnings training as a classical violinist in Oak Cliff, being on Tengo Talento Mucho Talento, perfect pitch, taking a break from college, and playing in both the DFW and Central Texas. This foo never ages so he passes off as Victor's son and the clients still believe it.
The CharroBoys celebrate 1 year since its inception! They discuss the beginning of CharroBeans, tequila, playing with new people, heading to Oklahoma, and singing priests. Never seen a Padre with so much drip.❄️
