Rev. Deb's show is a show about empowering you to live to your highest potential. It is about knowing deep down that you are entitled to love. Each week she shares her personal journey from deep listening to Holy Spirit to how to set boundaries to how to embrace Who you really are. The shows are acc…
Trust is the foundation on which our ability to fulfill our function rests. Our function is to forgive and to be happy. Faithfulness helps us to become more advanced in our trust. We learn how important it is to place our problems in the Holy Spirit's hands and await His divine answer. In this Walk of Trust series, Lesson 7, Rev. Deb shares that with trust and faith, we can realize how truly held we are in the arms of God.
Jesus tells us in A Course in Miracles that defense is fear. Each time we defend, we increase the fear. But what are we defending? The ego. Since we have the belief that we cannot trust God, we continue to plan and scheme to save the face of the ego. However, the good news is we have another way to choose: We can choose to trust. We can be open to change and open to receive inner wisdom. In this Walk of Trust series, Lesson 6, Rev. Deb shares that seeking for guidance outside of ourselves, or following our own plans, will never truly fulfill us or make us happy.
Jesus tells us in A Course in Miracles that we do not place our trust in Him but instead we place it in the ego. This is where the mistrust of God lies. If we can step back, realize we do not know the answer to any of our seeming problems, and simply be still in the quiet with Him, we will receive exactly what we need. In this Walk of Trust series, Lesson 5, Rev. Deb says the rewards of God are found when we place our trust in Him.
Jesus tells us in A Course in Miracles that to us who live here in the world, healing is very frightening. Many of us feel damaged in some way, and so we are afraid to trust and experience peace. These experiences from our past have caused us to hold grievances and judgments, keeping the love of others and God away from us. In this Walk of Trust series, Lesson 4, Rev. Deb shares how the miracle of forgiveness with the Holy Spirit will set us free so we can live a life of trust.
We believe we know the answer to anything that appears in our lives. The opposite is true. By being open to the recognition that I do not know the meaning of anything I perceive, it is the beginning of trusting God. We can learn to accept responsibility for our own mind and accept the power of choice. In this Walk of Trust series, Lesson 3, Rev. Deb shares her wisdom and asks you to answer a simple question: "Do I want the problem or do I want the answer?"
If we trust in only ourselves, it opens the door for worry and concern, anxiety and fear. Trusting in God is our perfect safety. In this Walk of Trust series, Lesson 2, Rev. Deb shares her wisdom and the practice from Lesson 47-God is the strength in which I trust.
Join Rev. Deb as we embark on a journey to building our foundation of trust. These 21 Lessons to Practical Application will support you as you do so. This episode we begin with Lesson 1-The Answer to Prayer.
Our relationships are our classroom where we can learn our union with God. Our goal is to join with them and realize our Oneness. Jesus is here to help us. He's given us A Course in Miracles. Jesus offers to help us: "If you want to be like me I will help you, knowing that we are alike. If you want to be different, I will wait until you change your mind. I can teach you, but only you can choose to listen to my teaching."
Rev. Deb shares a mindfulness meditation for newcomers and practitioners alike. She connects meditation to A Course in Miracles and how the Workbook Lessons are a meditation technique in and of themselves. More information on our meditation and ACIM class is available at www.miraclesone.org.
When you first wake up in the morning, do you reach for your smartphone to read Facebook or email? Is the TV turned on immediately? If so, perhaps take a look again at your morning routine. A Course in Miracles reminds us often to take time for silence: "Set apart from listening to the world, and choose instead a gentle listening to the Word of God." Rev. Deb speaks of such today and how you can incorporate the quiet into your everyday life. She will also be presenting a retreat and class later in May regarding the same topic. You can be still a moment and listen to God.
Joining Rev. Deb on this week's show is special guest Carol Howe, one of the original and most respected teachers of A Course in Miracles. Throughout her 40-year career with ACIM, she has helped many thousands on their journey to inner peace. On today's show, we explore the power of our thoughts and how we can have peace amid the turmoil of the world. We learn from Carol that where we focus our attention, the universe simply delivers the results, no matter if it is something we hate or deeply desire. A Course in Miracles reminds us too, "It is the witness to your state of mind, the outside picture of an inward condition." For more information on Carol Howe, visit carolhowe.com.
Guilt is what keeps the layers upon layers upon us. It hides us from the innocence we truly are. Jesus shares with us how important it is to not be afraid to look within. When we take his hand, we can stop, step back, be quiet and still, and remember the truth. This brings us to our own resurrection. No more need to crucify ourselves or others, when the purity of our innocence brings us joy. Rev. Deb shares a personal experience that happened just before recording this episode. She shares it so you can learn to embrace your radiance too.
As we learn in A Course in Miracles, the focus is not to be on the crucifixion but rather on the resurrection. Jesus tells us that the cross is the last useless journey we need take and the only message to take from it is: Teach only love for that is what you are. As practitioners of ACIM, it is our mission to follow his crucial message. Rev. Deb shares several examples from her personal life, demonstrating the way of love instead of the jagged path of fear.
We do not have to fall into the illusion that we are sinful, guilty, and surrounded by darkness. That is the ego's fear trap. In truth, we are innocent and today we declare our freedom. Rev. Deb relates the thinness of fear's veil as the Light of Purity and Love will always shine it away. In addition, she shares a loving-kindness practice to help you remember the innocence not only of yourself but that of others.
Rev. Deb gives a guided meditation that enhances the 40 Days of Light before Easter. Lent in various ancient languages means "increasing daylight in spring" versus the old connotations we have had in relation to Lent such as sacrifice, crucifixion, and death. Together we will journey from the darkness to the approach of light. The light of God within is our true, divine nature. Also, see 40daysoflight.org to sign up for daily messages to remember the Light we are starting March 1.
Rev. Deb responds to a student's inquiry on one deals with trauma by using A Course in Miracles. With a foundational passage and several lessons from A Course in Miracles, coupled with tips and a mindfulness meditation, Rev. Deb shares how you, too, can move past trauma and into peace. She offers these suggestions from what she has learned as she has healed throughout past 25 years from her own trauma experiences. A Course in Miracles says, "If you knew Who walks beside you on the way that you have chosen, fear would be impossible."
When we forgive, we realize we no longer need to erect heavy walls of stone. Today let's perceive forgiveness as it is. Rev. Deb Phelps shares her thoughts on this subject as we practice True Forgiveness with one particular person in our lives (or the world). Let us release the guilt and be at peace. A Course in Miracles says, "No one is crucified alone, and yet no one can enter heaven by himself."
A Course in Miracles says, "Knowledge is not the motivation for learning this course. Peace is." Rev. Deb Phelps shares through her own personal stories how you can ensure your motivation is aligned with peace. Let peace be your one goal for this year!
Christmas is a time to reflect in the Silence in the Light of Christ. A "Silent Night" meditation is shared and ways you can "Enter Into His Presence" this holiday season. Let peace be your one goal all your days.
Are you dealing with postelection stress? Perhaps a health diagnosis? Buying or selling a home? Just wishing things could be different in your world? In this episode, Rev. Deb looks at Lesson 194 in A Course in Miracles, which tells us how to place all that disturbs us into the Loving Hands of God. Here lies the solution to releasing outcomes, dealing with past pain, and future dread. God desires for us our happiness and peace, so shouldn't we?
It's that haunting time of year! You don't have to be afraid of the "bumps in the night" that occur from the thoughts of the past. Let's shove those skeletons back in the closet where they belong and roll along in peace with the Holy Spirit. Rev. Deb shares a recent personal story of doing just that. As A Course in Miracles says, "Children perceive frightening ghosts and monsters and dragons, and they are terrified. Yet if they ask someone they trust for the meaning of what they perceive, and are willing to let their own interpretations go in favor of reality, their fear goes with them. When a child is helped to translate his 'ghost' into a curtain, his 'monster' into a shadow, and his 'dragon' into a dream he is no longer afraid, and laughs happily at his own fear."
Like it or not, the discussion of the upcoming presidential election is all around us. We easily get drawn in to the battle, so it seems. Yet, we don't like how we feel. How can we rise above the negativity, the conflict, and fear? Why, remembering we can elect to choose peace in our mind! Rev. Deb shares her thoughts about how to put God and peace first, and an election meditation you can use to remember to embrace everyone in unity and put forth peace as your One Goal.
In the world we find much to disrupt our peace, be it news events or personal interactions. However, we can have peace in our lives. It all starts simply within. As the old song goes, "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me." With each step we take we can be the peacemakers of the world. Join Rev. Deb as she shares how to approach the world by realizing the peace of God is shining in us now. We may bless everyone through His Light.
Rev. Deb shares the need to let go of hanging on to the shore and release yourself into the sea of love. Will you hoist the flag of fear or the flag of love? Whichever you choose, that is the direction you will head and those are the witnesses that will join you on your journey.
Rev. Deb shares about true healing. Come into the circle of healing by realizing that health is inner peace and healing is letting go of fear. She also shares a small demonstration of the healing circle her ministry offers the first Sunday of every month. Embrace the healing within!
Step by step we come closer to awakening to our true nature. We must remain in the present moment to succeed. A Course in Miracles gives us these foundations of safety, the stepping-stones if you will, to assist us. We must first set an intention and offer our willingness to take it one step at a time. The good news, as Rev. Deb shares, is that we are not alone. We have the Holy Spirit and our mighty companions to light the way. You will reach the end goal of freedom, joy, love, peace, and light.
Say to yourself, "I am loved." Nurture the relationship with yourself. God loves you. Let Rev. Deb help you empower yourself!
In this guided meditation, you will experience yourself as cocreator with God, knowing you are abundant and the light of God.
Stop your projections. You are here to extend love. Have direct communication with the Holy Spirit and your brothers here. It is the way out of hell.
Rev. Deb shares her experience with the importance of not denying feelings and being a happy learner. In the text of A Course in Miracles, Ch. 14. II. The Happy Learner, Jesus tells us how devoted to misery we really are, and we think misery is happiness! We have to realize we have been deceiving ourselves and come to know that only the Truth is true.
This guided meditation uses Lesson 78 in A Course in Miracles. A "grievance" is any real or imagined wrong someone has done to us. It could be an injustice, an insult, an affront, or a criticism. By holding these grievances in our mind, we keep the light from our awareness. In this meditation practice, we attempt to see this someone in the Light of God. We lay our grievances aside and become one with him or her. This helps us to know that everyone we meet is our change to remember the truth. Indeed, let's allow miracles to replace all grievances today and every day.
Join Rev. Deb as she shares the importance of vigilance. The ego-the voice of fear-can slip in at any moment, so it is important that we stay tuned in to the Holy Spirit-the voice of Love. It's not enough to know the way to heaven, you have to be vigilant night and day. As it says in A Course in Miracles, "Your vigilance is the sign that you want the Holy Spirit to guide you ... in the perfect safety of God."
Are you active or passive in your spiritual practice? Rev. Deb shares what you can do to activate miracles in your life. If you're tired of living the way you have, then get ready to push the activation button as those miracles are about to flow. As it says in A Course in Miracles, "A miracle contains the gift of grace."
It is a season for renewal and rebirth! A time to accept miracles in your life. It doesn't matter if you have made mistakes this year or got sidetracked on your spiritual path. The time is now. Step out of the darkness and into the light. "Let miracles replace all grievances," A Course in Miracles tells us to practice consistently. And you can! Join Rev. Deb and other ACIM teachers for the free Accept Miracles Virtual Summit starting March 28, 2016.
"Ask but my help to roll the stone away, and it is done according to His Will." Use this guided meditation to practice rolling the stone of fear away from your holy mind with the help of Jesus. In releasing the old thoughts, the light will dawn within your mind, and you will experience a new perspective. Inspired by the Easter passages in A Course in Miracles.
Are you feeling frustrated by the current political campaign? Are you, perhaps, just angry with a family member, boss, or friend? This week Rev. Deb looks at the importance of recognizing projection and the fact that no one can be made separate from us-even as much as we would like them to be! In truth, we are one. Yes, we've heard it before! However, there really is a way to bring peace to our mind as we remember the simple thought from A Course in Miracles: "Forgiveness is the key to happiness." Rev. Deb shares a poem and closes with a meditation from Lesson 12-Forgiveness is the key to happiness.
This week Rev. Deb shares the importance of releasing your attachment to analyzing! Only ego would have us do extensive critiques of our lives, past and future. Open up to committing to a new way, a way of loving yourself that will bring you the greatest serenity. Holy Spirit will show you how deserving you are of Love. Listen to Him! As it says in A Course in Miracles, "You will look upon that which you feel within. If hatred finds a place within your heart, you will perceive a fearful world, held cruelly in death's sharp-pointed, bony fingers. If you feel the Love of God within you, you will look out on a world of mercy and of love."
This week's show is a meditation based on Workbook Lesson 124 in A Course in Miracles, "Let me remember I am one with God." This meditation begins with a relaxation phase as your entire body is made calm and at peace. You then step into a guided journey to your Home where you join with God. There you rest awhile until you are ready to return to this world. As it says in A Course in Miracles, "Let me remember I am one with God, at one with all my brothers and my Self, in everlasting holiness and peace."
Who doesn't want a guilt-free life? Yet, we are caught up in our judgments, and most of the time it's self-judgment. In this week's show, Rev. Deb shares a "Judgment Release Process" that works with the feelings of guilt on the surface. We can make our way through the cloud of guilt by following the light of God. When we stay focused on what is true, our judgment and guilt falls away, and peace is restored. As it says in A Course in Miracles, "In shining peace within you is the perfect purity in which you were created. Fear not to look upon the lovely truth in you. Look through the cloud of guilt that dims your vision, and look past darkness to the holy place where you will see the light."
On Valentine's Day, we spend a lot of money on love. If money could buy love, we'd be a nation of happy couples! Our hopes are high when it comes to romantic love, but who among us feels truly loved and secure, not just on Valentine's Day, but on a consistent basis? Despite all that we do for love, could it be that we're looking for it in the wrong places? As it says in A Course in Miracles, "The Love of God is what created me. The Love of God is everything I am. The Love of God within me sets me free."
Ever wonder why other people seem so peaceful? Do you say to yourself: I'll have what they're having? You, too, can feel rested, grounded, and at peace. All it takes is your willingness to stop and take the time. As it says in A Course in Miracles, "'I rest in God.' Completely undismayed, this thought will carry you through storms and strife, past misery and pain, past loss and death, and onward to the certainty of God. There is no suffering it cannot heal. There is no problem that it cannot solve. And no appearance but will turn to truth before the eyes of you who rest in God."
This week's show is a meditation based on the Workbook Lesson "Love is the way I walk in gratitude" in A Course in Miracles. This meditation is 20 minutes in length and begins with a relaxation phase as your entire body is made calm and at peace. Then you step into a guided journey as you focus on gratitude in your life and all around you, extending love to yourself and others. You will know that you are only here to bring love and appreciation to the Sonship. You rest awhile until you are ready to return to this world.
Ever have a painful memory from the past pop into your mind you just cannot get rid of? It's there for a reason. It's a forgiveness opportunity waiting to happen-one that will set you free and bring you peace if you allow it to do so. As it says in ACIM, "I seek a future different from the past."
The top New Year's resolution is to lose weight. But have you thought about the extra weight you're carrying around in your mind? That "weight" can be judgment, guilt, remorse, or regret that pulls you down into sadness. You can heal your mind and you can lose the weight of unhappiness and realize inner peace. As it says in ACIM, "The past is over. It can touch me not ... my present happiness is all I see."
This meditation is based on the Christmas readings in A Course in Miracles and a poem by its scribe, Helen Schucman. As it says in ACIM, "The sign of Christmas is a star, a light in darkness."
Sometimes we take life a little too seriously. I know I did for many years. My past life was riddled with emotional pain, traumas, and dramas. Yet with A Course in Miracles, my life changed to one of peace, happiness, and yes, laughter, and so can yours. Stop deciding against your own happiness. God extended His Love to us, and happiness is already ours. As it says in ACIM, "Into eternity, where all is one, there crept a tiny, mad idea, at which the Son of God remembered not to laugh."
