Dan Mazer is a British filmmaker who just so happens to be Sacha Baron Cohen's co-producer and co-writer on Da Ali G Show (2000 - 2004), the Borat movies, Bruno (2009) and The Dictator (2012). Yes, if you've seen any of those, you know what you're getting into with Dan. Whilst continuing to write further features Bridget Jones’s Baby and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Dan has also directed  I Give It a Year, Dirty Grandpa and the upcoming Home Alone - the latter of which was filmed during the current pandemic. Ian and Giles compare their experience on the indie side with Dan’s studio work, discussing how they’ve each managed to get their respective projects off the ground, dealing with financiers and maintaining good relationships with studios, as well as fellow producers and directors. I veckans avsnitt röjer vi runt i actionkakan "Olympus Has Fallen" och diskuterar allt från den nya Vita huset under attack-vågen till problemet att få till bra fightingscener. Dessutom snackar vi om den nya brittiska komedin "I Give It a Year", peppar inför "Pacific Rim" och sörjer Ray Harryhausen.

En deja vu-fornemmelse der også gør sig gældende på det store lærred, for filmens verden har det med at få tvillinger. I anledning af Olympus Has Fallen (og White House Down) ser vi derfor på det mystiske fænomen: tvillingefilmen. For hvorfor er det egentlig, at Hollywood gang på gang spytter nøjagtigt samme film på gaden, indenfor relativt kort tid? Og hvilke konsekvenser har det for filmene? Disse og flere andre tvillinge-spørgsmål, prøver vi at besvare i denne Podcast 75B (Den om tvillingefilm...). Yup, du læste rigtigt - 75B! For der har været noget besynderlig karma på spil under optagelserne til denne podcast. Vi satte os nemlig ned foran tændte mikrofoner fredag d. 5. april, ultra forberedte, og begyndte at podcaste. Eller det troede vi i hvert fald. Efterfølgende kunne vores studie-computer gøre os opmærksom på, at den ikke havde optaget et eneste af vores gyldne ord. Så Podcast 75A var altså en generalprøve; en live-podcast uden publikum, der nu kun hænger som et ekko i filmpodcast-historien. Derfor satte vi os igen ned mandag d. 8. april og sagde det hele igen. Eller vi prøvede, for det blev naturligvis slet ikke så fedt som første gang, men som skæbnen nu ville det, passer det jo perfekt til 75'erens tema. Vi blev nemlig tvunget til at optage en podcast der minder om den første på en prik. Vores helt egen tvillinge-podcast. Derfor er der i løbet af 75B'eren altså en masse referencer til 75A'eren, men den findes bare ikke. Tvillinge-film er dog kun et af mange emner vi runder.
