Some Christians feel like poverty or lack is what God wants for us and that we are to just pray and try win the lost to Jesus. It says that our gift will make room for us and bring us in the presence of great people. But what does it say about the gift? Does it mean a talent or ability that you are born with will make room for you? Or does it mean that if you bring a gift to someone that it will make room for you. One thing that I see from believers is that they beat themselves up over sins that they've committed. They have gone to God and asked for forgiveness but they can't get over it for themselves. What happens is that they end up beating them selves up over and over for the same sin that happened a long time ago. We need to let go of the past mistakes and stop beating ourselves up. I often hear a prayer request asking to be closer to God or to know God more. And this is a good indication of your heart and a good request. What we need to remember is that there is no end to how much we can know about God. So he is just not going to pour all of himself onto us at one time. It will overwhelm us. As long as we have breath in our lungs there is a way that we can come back to God when we make a mistake. Sin separates us from God. But Jesus is the bridge that reconnects us back to him. One of the first things that we learn growing up is that we need to be obedient. It's important for children to learn this because they don't know what dangers could be around them and they need to understand that their parents want the best for them. The same is true with our relationship with God. Obedience is key to our spiritual growth, safety and destiny. It's hard for some of us to confess but most of us are control freaks. We just want to be the one who determines the outcome of every situation. The more a grow and go through situations the more I realize that we need to hand things over to God and allow him to have his way. He is the only one who has ultimate control over everything. 1 Peter 5:7 says “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” We need to learn how to do this in every situation that we face. So today we will talk about handing things over to God. We hand things over to Gods hand through prayer and meditation on the promises concerning it. As believers we should remember that our relationship with God is the most important thing that we can do. As we fellowship with God it benefits us is so many different ways.
