IntroductionThe picture in our home of Jesus knocking on the door – all the hidden messages! No way to open the door from the outside - “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”Revelation 3:20 the heart of Jesus – the darkness on the inside, a ram's head? rose of Sharon? “I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys. Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women.” Song of Songs 2:1-2 NIV Read Text - John 2:13-25 The pictures in the storyThey point to the big event setting the stage for the main Passover eventThe 3rd day reference to the resurrectionThe Passover, the Lamb of God here, John 7 and later comes the climax of salvation…The whip and purificationSigns of authority – Jonah Crowds that believeThe staircase events of John 1:51- heaven touching earthPreparation for persecutionHow does this fit in with the image you have of Jesus? An angry guy? With your image of the loving gentle Jesus?Notice the whip?Understanding the situation: the influx of people to the Passover ca. 2 million and the temple tax – ½ shekel was worth 2 weeks labor for a common laborer, or a ½ week for a skilled laborer. (50 shekels was a good wage.) Today a comparison would have been ca. $2000 plus an animal from dove to sheep and goats or oxen. Imagine the noise, the smells, the bargaining, and the shouting going on in a marketplace! Photos! Bargaining and kickbacks in the marketplace that was to be a house of prayer for the nations! David Pawson suggests 4 reasons why Jesus was so angry:Laziness and convenience?Exploitation?Nationalism?Misappropriation? – And, and: “for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”” Isaiah 56:7 What authority did Jesus have?He is the Son of God, the real High Priest: “It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence.” Hebrews 9:23-24 He is the Messiah of Israel: Malachi 3:1-4 ““I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty. But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner's fire or a launderer's soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years.” Malachi 3:1-4 He is the temple of God – that is his authority to cleanse How does it affect us? We become believers when we see the signs“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19) “In (him) you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:22) Jesus has authority to cleans the temple! Is he cleansing your temple? What are the hindrances? David Pawson writes: “is your body just a library to be stuffed with knowledge? Is your body a bank, a place for gathering money? Is your body a playhouse, simply for pleasure? Is your body a pigsty where slimy passions rule? Or is your body a temple where God lives?”Let's examine the 4 possible reasons why Jesus cleansed the temple:Convenience - Exploitation – Nationalization - Misappropriation
La Porta | Renungan Harian Katolik - Daily Meditation according to Catholic Church liturgy
Delivered by Andrew Jost and Shendy Jost from the Parish of Saint Albert the Great in the Archdiocese of Makassar, Indonesia. 2 Corinthians 3: 15 - 4: 1.3-6; Rs psalm 85: 9ab-10.11-12.13-14; Matius 5: 20-26.REMOVE THE BARRIER The title for ourmeditation today is: Remove the Barrier. In a Sunday celebration of theEucharist the church was full with people. There was a small commotion in theback during the moment of consecration. There was a boy crying and protesting. He could not see the Body of Christ being raised by the priest, because hismother could not bring him up on her shoulders, as his father usually did. Hisfather was unable to come on that particular Sunday because he had a work outsidethe city. The child tried his best to see Jesus but in vain because many adultswere just in front of him and prevented him from seeing the Lord. Any barrier orobstacle must be removed so that we can have freedom to see and experience thepresence of God. Saint Paul describes the veil thatcovered the hearts of the Israelites when they read the book of Moses. Thereason was that they had turned away from God. If they would return to God, theveil would be removed from them. For us Christians, sins and evil are the mainbarriers that prevent us to see and experience the presence of God. In principle we arethe ones who create barriers in our lives. Laziness and boredom are oftenconsidered the big walls that prevent us from communicating with God. Those whoare lazy and boring are caught asleep or making something else on the one sideof the wall and the Lord is waiting for them from the other side. They justneed to be invited and persuaded or given an understanding so that they willregain their spirit. There is no permanent laziness and boredom in life. Anger, hatred, revenge and a stony heart are considered so heavy as steel walls. All of theseare big barriers that prevent us from praying and connecting our hearts withGod. We are asked to make peace and resolve the problem first, then come againto continue our prayers. This is what the Word of God demands us to do. Peopleof this type are not enough invited or persuaded to change their way of lives.Instead they must be given a strong strike to the point as what Jesus did, thatis to make them know that they will have no place in the Kingdom of God. Anybody arround us is not at all a barrieror obstacle for us to look at God and to meet Him. A genuine and true believer shouldnot just blame on the outside threat. For example, you are forbidden to prayor attend Mass. Yet your heart, mind and will are still in contact with Godwithout being noticed by the barrier. You can stillfind your way to be in contact with the Lord. So the call to getrid of barriers is primarily for ourselves, every one of us. Let's pray. In the name of the Father... Lord Jesus Christ, make our hearts remain close to You and may we alwaysaccept our neighbors as Your gifts to us. Hail Mary full of grace ... Inthe name of the Father ...

“We must have some room to breathe. We need freedom to think and permission to heal. Our relationships are being starved to death by velocity.” — Dr. Richard Swenson, The Overload SyndromeIn our fast-paced, always-on world, these words ring true. We're overloaded—physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially. But what if the antidote to our exhaustion isn't doing more, but doing less? Today, let's look at rest from a biblical perspective. What Is Margin?Margin is the “room to breathe” that Dr. Swenson describes. It's the space between our load and our limits, which allows us to pause before we break.Too often, we end the day with nothing left—no time, energy, or money. Then the next day starts…full throttle again. That kind of lifestyle comes at a cost. The Sleep Foundation reports that nearly half of Americans experience trouble sleeping—a third of them get less than seven hours of sleep a night. Chronic sleep deprivation can lead to serious (and expensive) health problems like anxiety, heart disease, and diabetes. It also undermines our relationships and decision-making.The truth? Rest is not a luxury. It's wisdom.God Created RestGod rested on the seventh day of Creation—not because He needed to, but because His work was complete. He blessed that rest and called it holy (Genesis 2:3).Later, He enshrined the Sabbath in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:8-11). Why? Because He knows our tendency to keep pushing ourselves, and He lovingly tells us to stop. As pastor and author Rich Villodas says:“God gives us Sabbath—he gives us rest—as a gift to remind us that our standing in Christ is not based on our works. When we rest, we're reminded: I'm not producing anything…and God still loves me.”Margin in a Work-Obsessed WorldTechnology allows us to work from anywhere, at any time. But just because we can doesn't mean we should. Rest gives us the strength and focus to do our work “as unto the Lord” (Colossians 3:23).Working late nights and skipping vacations might seem productive, but over time, they damage what matters most—our health, our relationships, and our spiritual lives.Rest doesn't mean avoiding work. It means working wisely and worshipfully—and stepping away when it's time to refuel. The Difference Between Rest and LazinessNow, let's be clear: Rest is not laziness.Laziness is neglecting what we're called to do. It violates God's design for us to work, serve, and create. Paul warned the Thessalonians to “warn those who are idle and disruptive” (1 Thess. 5:14), and added in 2 Thessalonians 3:11 that idleness often masks itself as busyness.Proverbs 31 praises the noble woman who works diligently. Verse 27 says she “does not eat the bread of idleness.” Laziness can show up subtly, like scrolling endlessly or shopping to avoid responsibility.Proverbs 24:30–31 tells of a neglected field, overgrown and crumbling, due to a lack of care. That's what happens when laziness takes root. But there's hope.Rest Is a Gift of GraceWhether you're burned out or stuck in patterns of procrastination, God's grace meets you where you are. Jesus doesn't offer a tighter schedule—He offers a lighter burden.“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened,” Jesus says, “and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)Rest isn't something you earn. It's something you receive. So step into the rhythm of grace, not guilt. Your soul—and your stewardship—depends on it.On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:My son is 26, and last year he was able to start a 401(k) with his job. In this powerful and necessary episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on a topic too many avoid: Black Fatigue—not as a trend, but as a trap. We're not sugarcoating. We're unpacking the Top 5 reasons why this mindset lingers and why it's being passed down like a generational curse:It's the Invention of an Excuse – From the locker room to the classroom, I've seen it all: missed practices, skipped assignments, and a never-ending stream of justifications. It Caters to Laziness – Don't confuse rest with neglect. Laziness disguised as “burnout” is killing momentum. It Keeps You in a Comfort Zone – The term "Black Community" gets thrown around, but are we enabling mediocrity instead of demanding progress? It Becomes Entertainment – The Caitlin Clark vs. Angel Reese drama is a distraction. Let's stop mistaking clickbait for cultural advancement. It Creates a Bond with Children (That They Don't Need) – Your child is not your friend. They need guidance, not a partner in complaining. This episode is about truth over trends and accountability over applause.

God's Word for Today29 May, 202530 I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of a man lacking sense,31 and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns; the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down.32 Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction.33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest,34 and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.-Prov 24:30-34 ESV THE PERIL OF LAZINESSShould people sleep when they should be working, they demonstrate their stupidity as well as their laziness. They will surely end in poverty and disgrace. The state of the vineyard of a person will tell either his diligence or laziness. It was grown over with thorns." It had been long neglected so that even brambles were permitted to grow in the fields. Nettles had covered the face thereof." It was not weeded, and all kinds of rubbish had been suffered to multiply. The stone wall was broken down." This belonged to the vineyard, it was neither pruned nor dug and the fence, for want of timely repairs, had all fallen into ruins. [Prov 24:31]The effect all this had on the attentive observer. Firstly, he saw it. he fixed his attention on it. he found it was no mere report. It is a fact. He myself was an eyewitness of it. Secondly, he considered it well, and he put his heart on it. All his feelings were engaged. Lastly, he looked upon it and took an intellectual view of it. Thus I received instruction, that is, I received a very important lesson from it. But, the owner paid no attention to it. He alone was uninstructed. Why? He "slumbered, slept, and kept his hands in his bosom." [Prov 24:33]. "Hugged himself in his sloth and carelessness." The result is poverty described as a traveler coming nearer and nearer to the door. What are the spiritual lessons learned here? Neglect brings barrenness or desolation to the garden of the soul. The “thorns” are evil habits that choke the good seed, and the “nettles” are those that are actually hurtful and offensive to others. The “wall” is the defense, which laws and rules give to the inward life, and which the sluggard learns to disregard, and the “poverty” is the loss of the true riches of the soul, tranquility, peace, and righteousness.Watch in YouTube: https://youtu.be/lPuuvKVODmgListen and FOLLOW us on our podcast Spotify: http://bit.ly/glccfil_spotify Apple Podcast: http://bit.ly/glccfil-applepcast Audible Podcast: http://bit.ly/glccfil-audibleFollow us on various media platforms: https://gospellightfilipino.contactin.bio#gospellightfilipino#godswordfortoday
In Romans 2:4, Paul writes, “Do you not know that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?” What a powerful reminder that even when we fail, especially when we fail, God's grace invites us back. He doesn't lead with condemnation, but with compassion. That truth has everything to do with our financial lives.Yes, God Cares About MoneyIt's easy to think God isn't concerned with something as “earthly” as money. But Scripture tells a different story. There are over 2,300 verses dealing with money and possessions. Why? Because how we handle money reveals what we value, trust, and believe about God.And just like any other area of our lives, when we fall short financially, whether through poor choices or sinful patterns, we're invited to bring those failures to the Lord in repentance.Grace for Financial FailuresWhen we confess our financial sins, we don't encounter a cold, condemning judge. We meet a loving Father, ready to forgive and restore. No financial mistake is too big for the Cross. Christ paid for every one of them.Take Zacchaeus, for example. The chief tax collector of Jericho was known for financial exploitation. But after one encounter with Jesus in Luke 19, everything changed. His repentance was visible: He gave half his possessions to the poor and repaid those he had wronged four times over. Jesus didn't demand this—grace compelled it. Zacchaeus didn't earn salvation by generosity; his giving revealed a heart transformed by it.We're invited to that same transformation.Financial Sins Worth Repenting OfYou might be wondering, What financial sins should I bring before the Lord? Here are a few worth reflecting on:1. Forgetting God Owns It AllWe are stewards, not owners. Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us that God gives us the ability to produce wealth. When we forget that, we risk idolizing what we've earned instead of worshiping the One who provides.2. Dishonesty in Financial DealingsCutting corners, misrepresenting the truth, or taking advantage of others damages our witness. As Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 8:21, “We aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord's sight but also in the sight of man.”3. Withholding GenerosityProverbs 11:24 warns that stinginess can actually lead to lack. A lack of generosity can reveal misplaced trust in wealth instead of God.4. Neglecting Diligent WorkWork isn't a punishment—it's a calling. Proverbs 14:23 says, “In all toil there is profit.” Laziness, or lack of engagement with our work, hinders our ability to live out God's purposes.5. Living Beyond Our MeansChronic overspending leads to stress and debt. Proverbs 22:7 says, “The borrower is slave to the lender.” Contentment honors God's provision.6. Coveting Others' WealthEnvy skews our perspective and sows discontentment. Exodus 20:17 calls us to guard our hearts from coveting what others have.Repentance That Leads to RestorationIf any of these hit close to home, remember this: conviction is not the same as condemnation. The goal of repentance is restoration, not shame. God is not asking for perfection—He's asking for surrender. When we confess, He forgives. And in His kindness, He leads us into new patterns of faithfulness marked by integrity, generosity, and wisdom. So wherever you are today—whether gathered with family, enjoying the day off, or reflecting quietly—take a moment to consider how God's kindness might be calling you back in your financial life.Ask Him to search your heart. Repent of anything that's not aligned with His will. And trust that He will meet you with mercy and guide you forward in grace. Because when we place even our financial story in His hands, it becomes a testimony of His faithfulness. And that, friend, is true freedom. On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I want to know how to invest my Roth IRA funds. I have a large account with a private custodian in a checkbook LLC, and right now it's just sitting in a bank account, which is shrinking because of inflation. I just want to keep up with inflation. I'm 70 years old and want to invest $30,000 wisely. After financial challenges, I want to create a safety net for my family and 15 grandkids. I don't know much about investing and need advice on what to do with my money.Resources Mentioned:Faithful Steward: FaithFi's New Quarterly Magazine (Become a FaithFi Partner)Schwab Intelligent Portfolios | BettermentSound Mind Investing (SMI)Wisdom Over Wealth: 12 Lessons from Ecclesiastes on Money (Pre-Order)Look At The Sparrows: A 21-Day Devotional on Financial Fear and AnxietyRich Toward God: A Study on the Parable of the Rich FoolFind a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA) or Certified Christian Financial Counselor (CertCFC)FaithFi App Remember, you can call in to ask your questions most days at (800) 525-7000. Paul tells the church at Galatia, “Yall were running the race with all you had, exerting all the effort you could, but something happened and it has hindered your running.” What happened? Circumcision. It's hard to run when you've had a knife cut into private part! That is a lot of pain and it takes a little while to heal up! Paul uses two words in the Greek to explain what he means by “hinder” but we don't fully grasp it in the English translations. Check out this podcast to see what Paul means and ask. Yourself this question, “Am I giving my all for Jesus? For the kingdom? Or is something hindering me from fully serving him?
What even is laziness? A moral failing? A personality flaw? Or just capitalism talking? In a culture obsessed with productivity and grindset mentality, the fear of being perceived as “lazy” runs deep—and it's often weaponized against people who are overwhelmed, burnt out, or simply existing outside the hustle. To help us rethink laziness from a more philosophical (and compassionate) perspective, host Amanda Montell (@amanda_montell) is joined by Ellie Anderson (@ellieanderphd), philosopher, college professor, and co-host of the podcast Overthink. Together, they explore where our cultural obsession with busyness comes from, how laziness intersects with class and race, and why doing nothing might just be the most radical act of all.Further listening: Overthink podcast with Ellie Anderson and David Peña-Guzmán. - Join the "Magical Overthinkers Club" by following the pod on Instagram @magicaloverthinkers.- To access early, ad-free episodes and more, subscribe to the Magical Overthinkers Substack.- Pick up a hard copy of Amanda's book The Age of Magical Overthinking: Notes on Modern Irrationality, or listen to the audiobook. Roel Staes, until recently General Counsel International at FedEx, joins Scott to reflect on a 22-year in-house legal career that scaled from Benelux counsel to overseeing a 500-strong international legal, regulatory, security, and government affairs team.In this wide-ranging episode, Roel shares candid lessons from the top—on everything from managing complexity in global organisations to learning how to communicate with clarity, brevity, and precision. A strong believer in over-communication and having your “memory card” ready, Roel explains why lawyers need to proactively articulate their value, insert themselves into business conversations, and take ownership beyond the job description. He also makes a compelling case for win-win lawyering, drawing from hard-earned lessons negotiating contracts and managing sensitive relationships. Plus, Roel introduces us to the concept of healthy laziness—why challenging processes, improving systems, and questioning the status quo is a key trait of high-performing in-house lawyers.Whether you're aiming for GC, growing a legal team, or just trying to become a sharper operator in-house, this episode is packed with sharp, actionable takeaways from someone who's walked the walk across global legal leadership.Guest Recommendations:Emotional Intelligence Habits by Dr. Travis BradberryWhat Every BODY Is Saying by Joe Navarro (FBI body language specialist)La Voix du RAID by Laurent Combalbert (on hostage negotiation and business decision-making)About Heriot Brown: At Heriot Brown, we help lawyers find fulfilment in their careers. Has AB's LAZINESS reached a whole new level??!!
Ever had one of those days? You've got the list. You've got the plan. You even have the time… But somehow, you end up deep-cleaning your kitchen pantry, reorganizing email folders, or scrolling TikTok wondering how that dog learned to skateboard instead of doing the ONE thing you said you'd do.
TUNE IN TO LEARN: What if I told you that laziness doesn't exist? That what we think of as resistance—in ourselves and others—is actually just a lack of clarity? This revelation turns conventional thinking about change on its head, offering a powerful new perspective for anyone struggling to make progress on important goals. Drawing from classic change management wisdom and years of executive coaching experience, this episode introduces the transformative "3 P's of Clarity" framework that dissolves resistance by addressing its true causes. Whether you're trying to adopt a personal habit or lead organizational transformation, these three elements make the difference between stagnation and momentum. Through practical examples and actionable insights, you'll learn to diagnose which element is missing when you or others feel stuck. The framework applies equally to personal goals like learning a language and organizational challenges like culture transformation. By trading judgment for curiosity about which "P" needs attention, you'll discover how clarity naturally generates momentum. Ready to transform how you approach change? Listen now, and never again mistake confusion for resistance. Share this episode with someone who might benefit from knowing they're not lazy—they're just unclear about their next step toward meaningful change. Everybody wants the hacks. The quick fix. The shiny new tool. The LinkedIn post that magically draws leads like moths to a flame. But let me give it to you straight: Sales isn't won with hacks. It's won with habits. And the habits that win are the ones most reps abandon the minute things get uncomfortable or boring. If you're not hitting your number, it's probably not because you need better leads, better tech, or better timing. It's because you've drifted from the basics. The Fancy Stuff Is Failing You We see it all the time—salespeople hiding behind automation tools, social selling gimmicks, and relationship-building fluff. They talk a big game on Zoom, but when it's time to dial the phone or ask for the sale, they freeze like a deer in headlights. Let's call this what it is: avoidance. You're avoiding real sales conversations because they're uncomfortable. You're hoping your sequence will “nurture” your prospect into buying without you having to actually sell. But automation doesn't close deals. YOU do. The truth? Most salespeople would rather look productive than be productive. Fancy decks, CRM tagging, and custom email flows feel like progress—but they don't get the contract signed. Top producers know: The tools support the basics. They don't replace them. What Actually Wins: The Fundamentals If you want to win more, stop searching for better tactics and start doing the boring stuff better. Because these five basics are still undefeated: 1. Phone Calls Cold calls. Warm calls. Follow-up calls. Call blocks. Whatever the flavor, the phone remains your fastest path to building pipeline. And yet it's the most avoided. Most reps send five emails and give up. Not top performers. They make the call. Because conversations close deals—period. 2. Discovery Questions Stop pitching. Start digging. The best reps are curious, not convincing. They lead with questions that uncover pain, urgency, and decision dynamics. And they clam up long enough to actually listen. You don't earn trust by explaining. You earn it by understanding. 3. Objection Handling If objections scare you, it's because you don't practice. Objections aren't stop signs—they're buying signals. But if you're caught off guard every time someone says, “I need to think about it,” you're not preparing. You're winging it. And amateurs who wing it get smoked. 4. Follow-Up Here's the truth: the sale is almost never made on the first call. Or the second. Or even the fifth. 80% of sales happen after the 5th touch, but most reps quit after two. Why? Emotion. They feel rejected. Embarrassed. “I don't want to bother them.” Bother them? You're solving a problem they can't fix alone. Follow up until they buy or you find them a better solution. 5. Asking for the Sale Most reps are afraid to ask. Why? Because they're afraid of hearing no. But here's the thing: no is part of the process. If you're not hearing no, you're not asking enough. You're a consultant. You're a closer. Your job isn't to make the prospect feel warm and fuzzy—it's to guide them to a decision. And that means asking with courage and confidence. Why Reps Quit the Basics Three big reasons: Ego. “I've been selling for years—I don't need to practice this stuff.” Wrong. The minute you think you're too good for the basics is the minute your numbers start tanking. Fear. Fear of rejection. Fear of sounding pushy. Fear of failing. So instead of doing the work, you procrastinate with busywork. Laziness. The basics aren't sexy. They're repetitive. They take discipline. So most reps quit—and that's why most reps are average. Want to stand out? Don't be like most reps. Go Pro or Go Home Top athletes don't get bored of running drills. They know repetition sharpens instinct. They know that under pressure, you don't rise to the occasion—you fall to your level of training. Same with sales. You don't magically handle objections—you drill them.
This morning's message is a little different. We're exploring a big idea—mastery—and making it incredibly personal. There are moments in life where your choices don't just impact your future… they shape who you become. These are pivotal human intersections, and you're standing in one now. From the raw power of talent, to the refining fire of process, to the fuel of obsession—this message dives deep into what it means to live a life of purpose and intentionality. It's not about being the best in the world... it's about being the best version of you—the one God imagined when He created you.Cain had a choice. So do you. Sin lurks. Discouragement is easy. Laziness, envy, fear—they're effortless. But mastery, transformation, and becoming fully alive? That takes work. And it's so worth it.Whether you're chasing greatness, stuck in comparison, or just tired of living a lesser version of yourself—this message is for you. It's a call to self-mastery, to spiritual depth, and to radical, obsessive devotion to becoming who God designed you to be.“The most spiritual thing you will ever do… is choose.”⏳ It's your moment. Choose well.—

What if the path to a meaningful life isn't paved with comfort, but with deliberate discomfort? In this episode, we explore the insidious nature of "flabbiness" - not just of body, but of mind and spirit. We'll uncover how our modern world lulls us into a state of complacent existence, and why the easy path often leads to the hardest life. Through stories of transformation and philosophical insights, we'll challenge the notion that happiness comes from avoiding difficulty. Instead, we'll discover how embracing challenge and responsibility can lead to a life of purpose and fulfillment. This isn't just about self-improvement; it's about redefining what it means to truly live in a world that often encourages us to merely exist: Choose your hard: Decide which difficulties are worth embracing Create your own resistance: Design challenges that grow you Reframe comfort: See ease as a tool, not a destination Are you ready to trade comfort for meaning?
