In this message, Pastor Bo challenges us to grow beyond “Mickey Mouse evangelism” and step into real, Spirit-led conversations that lead people to Christ. Discover practical ways to share your faith with confidence — from praying for others, to weaving Bible truth naturally into everyday conversations, to walking someone through the Romans Road. And remember: transformation takes time. Today I want to show you why I don't believe all paths lead to God, but only one path in particular does. There's only one road that gets you to Heaven. I want to take you on a simple journey called the RomanS Road to salvation. NOT the Roman Roads of the Roman Empire, but the RomanS Road found in the Biblical book of Romans. There will be 4 stops along the way- 4 passages that summarize how to get to God. In fact, it's actually the message of how God has made his way to you. We call it the good news, aka the Gospel.
Nate Williams, filling in for Greg Davis, talks about evangelism and the phrase "Christians are too heavenly minded to be any earthly good." He shares about the "Ephesians Road" that can complement the classic "Romans Road' in evangelism. Then, he talks about how atheists borrow from the Christian worldview to create their own morality and J.K. Rowling's "God-shaped vacuum" in her heart.

To be ambassadors for Christ on the mission of reconciliation, making disciples of the nations. Sound like a big job? Thankfully we are in this together and the Holy Spirit is doing His work in and through us. Welcome to Run With Horses! My name is Norman and my goal is to help you thrive as a follower of Jesus. The spiritual life is simple in many ways, but potentially the most difficult part of your life. God invites you to grow, to live intentionally and to join in His mission. It's very cool that we can do that together! Thank you for joining me today! “If you're new here, you can check out past episodes at runwithhorses.net. As always, I appreciate your feedback, questions, and reviews!” **(23:00 – 0:00)* * PART 1 The Biblical Mandate • Matthew 28:18-20 – Jesus commands us to make disciples of all nations. • Key Question: Why does the church exist? • Not just for programs, services, or buildings—It exist as the body of Jesus to Cary out his mission of reconciliation in the world, practically, for disciple-making. • Every believer is called to participate (not just pastors). ⸻ .1 Clarify the Win for the Team Question: What does success look like for our church? • Colossians 1:28-29 – “Present everyone mature in Christ.” • Ephesians 4:11-13 – Equip saints until maturity and unity in faith. • Goals: • Define “disciple” (follower of Jesus growing in obedience, reproducing). Everyone needs to know the goal of Christ-likeness and have some idea of the path that leads there. • Create a shared vision and language (everyone knows what the goal is). It is a team effort, we need each other and simple, clear communication is important. • Success = transformed lives, not just attendance numbers. ⸻ .2 Give Them Tools for the Win How do we equip every believer to evangelize and disciple? • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – Scripture equips believers for every good work. • Ephesians 4:12 – Leaders equip saints for ministry. • Acts 1:8 – Empowered by the Spirit to witness. • Goals: • Provide simple gospel tools (testimony, “3 Circles,” Romans Road, DBS). • Train in basic disciple habits (prayer, Bible, fellowship, serving). • Help members discover spiritual gifts (Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 12). ⸻ .3 Radical Clarity About Mission How do we keep the vision in front of us? • Habakkuk 2:2 – “Write the vision; make it plain.” • John 20:21 – “As the Father has sent me, I send you.” • Matthew 5:13-16 – Salt and light in the world. • Goals: • Constantly repeat the mission (sermons, meetings, ministries). • Celebrate wins (testimonies, baptisms, gospel impact stories). • Evaluate ministries: Does this move us toward Christ-likeness and help us make disciples? ⸻ .4 Create Systems that Self-Correct and stay on task How do we design processes that keep us on mission? • Acts 6:1-7 – Church creates structure to meet needs and continue growth. • 1 Corinthians 14:40 – “Do all things decently and in order.” • Goals: • Build reproducible models (small groups, one-on-one mentorship). • Review regularly and adjust to stay on mission. • Systems should serve people, not the other way around.

Sharing the gospel is central to the Great Commission. But doing so on a day-to-day basis is more complicated than we often want to admit. It's definitely more complex than just memorizing the Romans Road or learning a three-step approach for door-to-door witnessing. So in this episode, we want to ask two different questions about sharing the gospel: first, we want to ask why don't we do it, and second, how should we change the way we think about sharing the gospel?Listen to the audio version here: https://theconqueringtruth.com/2025/04/what-stops-christians-from-sharing-the-gospel-ep-213-audio/Timecodes00:00:00 Failure to Evangelize00:08:36 False Fears00:11:33 Belief in Hell00:14:53 Disobedience00:19:59 Gifting vs Practice00:26:48 Different Venues00:35:36 Hospitality00:40:04 Ready to Give an Answer00:49:28 Listening00:58:17 Answer a Fool01:21:59 Using God's WordProduction of Reformation Baptist Church of Youngsville, NCPermanent Hosts - Dan Horn, Charles Churchill and Joshua HornTechnical Director - Timothy KaiserTheme Music - Gabriel Hudelson

During today's conversation on Back Porch Theology we're getting granular about the divine, salvific grace Paul riffs on early in his letter to the Romans. We're going to take a long pause in our collective amble down the Romans Road so as to marinate in the concept of justification. We're going to do an in-depth review of how the sinless life and sacrificial death of Jesus Christ made it possible for rebellious, sin-riddled yahoos like us to be reconciled with a perfectly righteous God. Because all too often we church folk tend to volley multi-syllabic theological terms like “justification” and “sanctification” and “propitiation” amongst ourselves like innocuous doctrinal pickle balls without giving too much thought to the grief and gravitas they represent. In much the same way we blithely wear crosses as mere jewelry or prominently display it in the form of a hip tattoo, forgetting what that Roman torture device – equivalent to a medieval guillotine or modern-day electric chair, which I can't imagine someone wearing as a fashion statement – represents…that the King of all kings chose to leave His throne in glory, condescend to human form and humble circumstances, only to be betrayed and abandoned by His closest friends and ultimately have stakes hammered into His feet and wrists so He could be suspended in the air like a human shish-kabob while a cruel mob jeered His torture and subsequent murder because Jesus knew His blood was the necessary price that had to be paid in order to justify – to make us right – with God. We're not going to skip past the hard facts of what He sacrificed for our redemption today y'all because quite honestly doing so mitigates the miracle of our salvation. So please grab a great big mug of strong coffee and your Bible – unless of course you're in the hot-wax stage of a manicure – and come ponder the audacious kindness of King Jesus on the porch with Alli, Dr. Howard and me.
