Amazon is getting into gaming! Is it going to work? I think it'll be better off than the Google Stadia, anyways. We look at what they're bringing to the table on this week's show. We also talk about how CD Projekt Red is telling their employees to work overtime leading up to the release of Cyberpunk 2077, and what a polarizing move it is among gamers. We look into stuff like Playstation filing a new PSVR patent and seemingly doubling down on the whole virtual reality thing. People that pre-ordered Xbox Series X consoles might not get them at launch (sigh)... We know who the next fighter joining the Super Smash Bros roster will be! And so much more! Microsoft owns Bethesda, and I suppose we should talk about it. I actually dedicated the first section of the show specifically to that news. I break down the story, what we know, share your thoughts, and tell you what I think this means for gaming. Once that's done, we get into the rest of the news. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S preorders went live and broke the internet. Sony will allow most PS4 games to run on the PS5, and some PS5 games to run on the PS4... Also, expanding your memory on the Xbox Series X and S might not be cheap. Nintendo is retiring the 3DS/2DS, so we share some memories of the little clamshell that could. Left 4 Dead is back (kinda) and lots more! So the good news is that Microsoft gave us lots to talk about. Nintendo has some news as well, and there's a bunch of multi-console stuff to look at. The bad news is that if you're a Playstation fan, the cupboard is pretttttyyy bare this week. We have pricing and release dates for the Xbox Series X and Series S, so obviously we're focusing on that. EA Play is being added to Gamepass, which is insane! Nintendo announced a prequel to Breath of the Wild (kinda) which is cool, and there's more fallout from the Mario 35th Anniversary Direct from last week. And Playstation is releasing a remote to work streaming services on the PS5. Naturally, we don't know how much it will cost. Plus Colin Kaepernick is in Madden 21, Ubisoft showed off a bunch of games, Cyberpunk 2077 is ready to go, and lots more! The theme music was generously provided by 'Vertical Noise', a band from the U.K. The track is 'A Certain Host of a Certain Talk Show', and you can find it and all their music on iTunes & Spotify and stuff. Nintendo went from a non-factor to stealing the show this week with a 15 minute video. Obviously, we're breaking down the Mario 35th Anniversary Direct. We also look at some quality of life improvements with the eShop, and Animal Crossing has a new fish or something.Sony is looking into putting more Playstation exclusives on PC, and you might not be able to play your PSOne copy of Final Fantasy VII on the PS5.Microsoft seems to be the only one NOT talking about the Xbox Series S, and they're gonna be at the Tokyo Game Show this month. Where they also won't talk about the Xbox Series S, apparently...And everyone hates Madden 21, loves the Tony Hawk Pro Skater Remakes, and seem to be pleasantly surprised with the Avengers game.Plus more news, sales recommendations, and other random blabbering. The theme music was generously provided by 'Vertical Noise', a band from the U.K. The track is 'A Certain Host of a Certain Talk Show', and you can find it and all their music on iTunes & Spotify and stuff. The PS Plus games for September have been announced, and Fall Guys has become the most downloaded PS Plus game of all-time!Microsoft is supporting Epic Games' suing Apple and Google for taking Fortnite off their stores.
