Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is officially coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23, 2026, launching the same day as PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This marks the first new Call of Duty game on Nintendo hardware in years, and it could be one of the biggest third-party tests for Switch 2 yet. Tonight, we're breaking down what Modern Warfare 4 on Switch 2 means, why day-one support matters, how crossplay could change the conversation, and whether this is the start of a real third-party shift for Nintendo. Activision says Modern Warfare 4 is being built for current-gen hardware, with the campaign centered on a conflict on the Korean Peninsula and a new version of DMZ included. This week on Spawn On Me, I land an exclusive sit-down with the team behind NBA The Run, the upcoming 3v3 arcade basketball game from Play by Play Studios. If you've been waiting for a true spiritual successor to NBA Street since EA Sports BIG went quiet, you're going to want to hear this one.I talk with the team about how a small, passionate studio went from building a fictional streetball game called The Run: Got Next to landing an official NBA license — and how a single LinkedIn message changed the trajectory of the entire project. We get into Mike Young's two-decade journey from NBA Street, FIFA Street, SSX, and Madden to leading the revival of a genre that's been collecting dust since 2007.We dig into what makes NBA The Run different: the fast-paced 3v3 gameplay, the 32 hand-crafted NBA stars with hero-shooter-style personalities, the rogue-like rule modifiers, and why iconic streetball spots like Rucker Park and Venice Beach matter to the culture. I also push the team on the bigger questions — who is this game really for, how do they balance arcade fun with depth, and what does it mean to bring streetball back to the mainstream conversation?NBA The Run drops June 9 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Lace 'em up.Follow Spawn On Me:

Vragen of opmerkingen? Mail ons! Op allinthegame@bnr.nl Over All in the GameAll in the Game is de podcast over games voor iedereen. Het komt allemaal aan bod in All in the Game. The monthly video gaming briefing from GameBurst documents significant industrial milestones alongside ongoing corporate restructuring across major publishers. Leading the news, Subnautica 2 has launched into Early Access today on PC and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, the title includes four-player cooperative mechanics and an updated Unreal Engine 5 foundation. The release follows a protracted development period marked by internal leadership disputes and legal conflict involving its publisher. In corporate developments, Capcom has reported record annual performance for the fiscal year ending March 2026, with 59 million total units sold. The results were driven heavily by Resident Evil Requiem, pushing the franchise past 200 million lifetime sales. Separately, retail data suggests pre-orders for Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 6 are imminent, prompting industry speculation ahead of Take-Two Interactive's quarterly earnings call. Further updates include Nintendo's decision to bring forward the theatrical release of the live-action Legend of Zelda film to April 2027, alongside the expansion of the Nintendo Switch Online service to include five additional Virtual Boy titles. Sony also confirmed the addition of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Star Wars Outlaws to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers. The update concludes with the panel's Picks of the Week, covering Mixtape, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, and contemporary tabletop gaming. #gameburst Featured Video Links Quinns Quest Reviews: Stonetop

This week on GameBurst, the team covered a bumper week in gaming news — headlined by the news that Rebellion's post-apocalyptic British gem Atomfall is heading to television, with the Emmy-winning writers behind Fleabag attached to pen the series. It's a fitting creative match for a game that won Best British Game at this year's BAFTA Game Awards. Elsewhere, retro enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to: clamshell handhelds based on the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum are due in October at £109.99, complete with 25 built-in games and MicroSD expansion — with limited collector's editions bundled with reproduction issues of Crash and Zzap! magazine. RPG fans got a firm release date for Blood of the Dawnwalker — the dark fantasy debut from Witcher 3 veterans Rebel Wolves — confirmed for 3 September 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, alongside ten minutes of atmospheric new gameplay footage. Nintendo's cinematic ambitions continue to grow, with Universal quietly confirming a third Nintendo and Illumination animated film for April 2028 — with a Donkey Kong spin-off widely speculated to be in the frame. In community news, Games Done Quick is heading to Europe for the first time, partnering with Gamescom in Cologne this August for a three-day charity speedrunning showcase benefiting Gaming for Democracy. Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus subscribers can claim EA Sports FC 26 and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers from the start of May — and Xbox Game Pass users will welcome price cuts, with Ultimate now dropping to $22.99 per month, though new Call of Duty titles will no longer be included at launch. The game sold over 1 million copies worldwide in only 48 hours after its April 17, 2026 launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and with early Nintendo Switch 2 support.Analytic Dreamz examines the key performance metrics: 1+ million pre-launch wishlists, top 5 pre-order rankings on the PlayStation Store in multiple regions, a 97% positive Steam user rating, 93.87% SteamDB score, and Metacritic scores in the 85-87 range with outlets like GameSpot awarding 9/10. Capcom's stock rose 10% post-launch, continuing the publisher's strong run of titles scoring 80+.The discussion covers the game's hybrid gameplay blending third-person shooting with real-time hacking puzzles, its near-future lunar station setting controlled by a rogue AI, and its main characters Hugh Williams and android companion Diana. With a focused single-player structure, no live-service elements, and playtimes of 10-12 hours for the main story or 18-20+ hours for completionists, Pragmata proves new IPs can still deliver elite commercial results.Analytic Dreamz explores how a playable demo, extensive marketing, multi-platform strategy including Switch 2, and positioning as fresh sci-fi action drove this success despite a development cycle spanning over four years with multiple delays. This segment highlights why Pragmata challenges industry trends around live-service dominance and reinforces Capcom's momentum in high-quality single-player releases. Bonus Episode #67 of BGMania: A Video Game Music Podcast. Today on the show, Bryan reviews Replaced, the long-awaited debut from Sad Cat Studios, finally out on April 14, 2026 on PC and Xbox Series X/S and available day one on Xbox Game Pass. Set in a dystopian alternate-1980s America where nuclear catastrophe handed total control to a shadowy organization called the Phoenix Corporation, the game puts you in the role of REACH, an artificial intelligence accidentally trapped inside a human body, navigating a decaying world of corruption, organ harvesting, and hard questions about identity and autonomy. This Musical Review breaks down the full experience across eight segments, covering the game's stunning hand-crafted pixel art, its slow-burn narrative built around the Disposals and the secrets of Phoenix City, the free-flow combat system and how it evolves across ten chapters, and the friction that comes with some of the platforming and control responsiveness. The episode also dedicates a full segment to the synth-driven original score by Igor Gritsay and aygad, featuring vocal performances by Marina Thorik, and how the music works alongside the world to create something atmospheric and genuinely affecting. Email the show at bgmaniapodcast@gmail.com with requests for upcoming episodes, questions, feedback, comments, concerns, or any other thoughts you'd like to share! This week on GameBurst, the team digs into a packed fortnight for the industry, from blockbuster release confirmations to hardware surprises and the ongoing turbulence reshaping the games business. Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto VI remains firmly on course for its 19 November 2026 launch, with Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick confirming a summer marketing push — and developers moving swiftly to quash viral rumours of a third delay. Meanwhile, Playground Games has confirmed that its long-anticipated Fable reboot will arrive simultaneously on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC this autumn, breaking the franchise's historically Xbox-exclusive heritage and landing on Game Pass from day one. Two notable releases hit shelves this week: Capcom's sci-fi action title Pragmata and Nintendo's life simulator Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, both landing after years of anticipation. Nintendo also continues to build momentum around the Switch 2, with a Handheld Boost Mode update now enabling original Switch titles to run at 1080p in portable play, and Pokémon Champions dominating the eShop charts since its 8 April debut. Summer Game Fest 2026 is confirmed for 5 June at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with Geoff Keighley also announcing the return of Play Days and a new trade event, The Game Business Live. And in hardware news, UK outfit Blaze Entertainment has unveiled the Evercade Nexus — its most ambitious handheld yet — featuring a 5.89-inch IPS screen, dual analogue sticks, wireless multiplayer, and a bundled Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack, priced at £169.99 and due in October. On a more sobering note, Ubisoft has announced a significant corporate restructuring, with further cuts at its Paris headquarters. The news arrives against a backdrop of continued industry-wide contraction, with a Newzoo/GDC survey finding around 28% of developers had been laid off in recent times. For picks of the week: Gary spotlights board game 1822: The Railways of Great Britain and Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor; Jerome recommends The Rogue Prince of Persia and the Murderbot TV show on Apple TV; and Taylor highlights the Evercade VS-R alongside the excellent YouTube channel of Kim Justice. #gameburst YouTube links: Kim Justice: https://www.youtube.com/@Kim_Justice

In this segment of Notorious Mass Effect, Analytic Dreamz breaks down the staggering Day 1 metrics and the mixed reception shaping its post-launch trajectory. The game shattered expectations with over 2 million copies sold worldwide in under 24 hours, generating an estimated ~$140 million in revenue. Pre-launch signals were strong: 3 million Steam wishlists and roughly 400,000 early PC sales contributing $20+ million. On Steam launch day, it rocketed into the Top 3 most-played titles, peaking at 239,045 concurrent players—trailing only Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2—with over 16,000 user reviews yielding a “Mostly Positive” rating after an initial “Mixed” snapshot.Critically, Crimson Desert earned a Metacritic score of 78, reflecting mixed-to-moderately positive reviews. Players praise the massive Pywel world, deep combat, and sandbox systems like fishing, cooking, and hunting, but common complaints target complex controls, “janky” controller feel, overly dense menus, performance issues, bugs, weak story elements, and bland objectives. Controversies include accusations of undisclosed AI-generated assets in artwork and signage, raising potential Steam policy concerns.Investor reaction was sharp: Pearl Abyss stock plunged nearly 30% initially, with a 40%+ decline over five days, as the score fell short of lofty expectations tied to the game's long development and hype.Pearl Abyss responded humbly, acknowledging the “incredibly” strong sales, vowing rapid patches for controls, performance, and gameplay streamlining. With no microtransactions but Denuvo DRM in place, the $69.99 title stands as a maximalist single-player epic.Analytic Dreamz analyzes this as a classic high-hype AAA case: unmatched commercial momentum and engagement outpacing critical consensus. Long-term success depends on swift fixes to technical woes and controversies—proving sales dominance can fuel redemption in a demanding market.Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
