Gemma Chan - as we continue celebrating AAPI Month, did you know that while Gemma Chan was attending the Drama Centre of London, she also modelled to help with the funding.

As we continue with National Asian Pacific Islander Month, did you know that you can celebrate this month by watching a movie that's produced by an asian producer? It's just a way to show Asians some appreciation for a few of their amazing movies made by them. I would definitely recommend watching “Train to Busan,” since it's a very cool movie. It includes a very good lesson at the end, and has some very terrifying, but astonishing scenes. Netflix has a section you can browse called Celebrate Asian & Pacific Islander Stories that you can browse.

Muslims across the globe celebrate by taking part in prayers that are followed by a sermon soon after dawn. The day continues with devotees wearing new clothes, exchanging greetings and distributing sweets. Children receive gifts and money from elders and of course there is a lot of food and gathering.  Have a blissful Wednesday, Bulldogs!

As we start talking about National Asian Pacfic Islander Month, did you know that there were many ways to celebrate this celebration? For example, one way to celebrate this wonderful holiday is by visiting the Robert D. Ray Asian Gardens. These Gardens in Downtown DSM recognize the contributions that Asian Americans have made to Iowa and serve as a monument honoring Robert D. Ray for his remarkable leadership and humanitarian outreach to welcome and support Asian Americans.

Did you know that the  Mexican flag is full of national symbolism. The green strip represents the Independence Movement. The white stripe represents the purity of the Catholic faith. The red stripe represents the Spaniards that joined in the quest for Independence and the blood of the national heroes. The eagle represents all that is good and right, while the snake represents evil and sin. In legend, the Aztec built their capital on the spot where they saw an eagle perched on a cactus while holding a snake in its beak.

The EPA is known as the environmental protection agency, and was approved by President Richard Nixon in 1970.Legislation on clean air, clean water, Toxic substances, and endangered species were also passed as well. As we continue with Earth Day, did you know that Earth Day has always been a very strong and important holiday? 20 million Americans celebrated the first Earth Day in 1970. It has since grown, and has been celebrated in more than 192 countries by over one billion civic-minded supporters.

As we continue with Earth Day, did you know that Earth Day's date was chosen to appeal to college students? It was intentionally by Senator Nelson and grad student Denis Hayes. They strategically selected April 22 in order to attract more college students, who were known for being politically active during that era of protest. The date fell between spring break and final exams.

:As we continue with Earth Day, did you know that Earth Day was inspired by Vietnam protestors? It happened after Senator Gaylord Nelson noticed people protesting the Vietnam War, but not putting any pressure on the government about the damage being done to the planet via contaminants like oil spills, pesticides, and deadly smog.

As we start talking about Earth Day, did you know that the first Earth Day was first recognized on April 22, 1970? The person who found out about it was Senator Gaylord Nelson. They were able to make such a fantastic celebration that we could all celebrate, but also use to protect the Earth with.

As we continue to learn about health awareness, did you know that fiber helps reduce stomach aches, lower cholesterol levels, and lowers the risk of diabetes and heart disease. Fiber is really important for our body so we can maintain a long and healthy life.

As we continue to learn about food health awareness, did you know that diabetes is the 7th leading cause of death in the U.S? If you get diabetes and don't control your blood sugar you can  damage your kidneys, heart, eyes, and feet. To prevent yourself from getting diabetes make sure to exercise regularly, drink water, and try to maintain a healthy diet,

As we continue to raise awareness on food health, did you know that calcium helps strengthen some parts of your body? It makes your bones strong and is stored in your teeth to help their structure. You can find calcium in foods that have dairy, green leafy vegetables, and foods that have fortified flour.

As we start off the week with food health awareness, did you know that eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental health illness? Eating disorders affect 9% of the world population and 28.8 million people in the U.S.

As we continue to learn about Caesar Chavez and the United Farmworkers movement, did you know that Filipino farmworkers let by Larry Itlong actually convinced Ceasr Chavez and the Mexican farm workers to join the strike. For decades the migrant, bachelor, Filipino farmworkers – called Manongs, or elders — had fought for better working conditions. These Filipinos were the unsung heroes of the Farmworker Movement.

Did you know that today is Caesar Chavez Day? Cesar Chavez Day is always celebrated on his birthday, March 31st. President Barack Obama declared Cesar Chavez Day a national holiday in 2014.Chavez founded the National Farm Workers Association in 1962. Chavez employed nonviolent means to bring attention to the plight of farm workers. He led marches, called for boycotts and went on several hunger strikes?

As we continue to learn about Caesar Chavez and the United Farmworkers movement, did you know that after moving to California, the Chavez family lived in a poor town called Sal Si Puedes which means "escape if you can"?

As we continue to celebrate Women's History Month… Did you know that Elizabeth Blackwell was the first woman in America to be awarded a medical degree? She pioneered the education of women in medicine and opened her own medical college for women. She made a very good impact for women, and without her, most women wouldn't be able to learn about medicine.

As we continue to celebrate Women's History Month… Did you know that Jane Goodall is an expert on wild chimpanzees? She is recognized for her magnificent discovery, and found out that chimpanzees are able to make tools, eat and hunt for meat, and have similar social behavior to humans.

As we continue to celebrate Women's History Month… Did you know that Alice Ball was able to create a treatment for leprosy? This technique was known as the “Ball Method,” which was made back in the 20th century, and was the only effective treatment for the horrible disease.

As we continue to celebrate Women's History Month… Did you know that Marie Curie was the first woman to win a Noble prize in physics? She is also incredibly famous for her discovery of radium and polonium, and her huge contribution to finding treatments for cancer.

As we continue to celebrate Women's history month.. Did you know that Frida Kahlo is one of the best Mexican Painters? She is successful for her uncompromising and brilliantly coloured self-portraits. It deals with themes such as identity, human body, and death. Her art is very unique and it really stands out from all of the other artists!

As we continue to celebrate Women's history month.. Did you know that Taylor Swift is one of the best-selling music artists of all time? She has won 10 Grammys and other many awards and has a net worth of $360 million, and she is only 29. She has a huge impact on the music industry and she never disappoints her fans either!

As we continue to celebrate Women's history month… Did you know that Sandra Oh won Genie awards for her performances in Double Happiness? She has also won two Golden Globe awards, not very surprised since Sandra is such a versatile actress whose performances in film and television have won popular and critical acclaim!

As we continue to celebrate Women's history month… Did you know that Anne Hathaway got her first big break in 1999 on the short-lived television series “Get Real?” She also got very popular from playing Mia Thermopolis in “Princess Diaries”, and got critical and commercial attention for all her other roles she acted as.

As we continue to celebrate Women's history month... Did you know that Amanda Gorman was the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate? At 22, she is also one of the youngest poets who was accorded the honour of delivering the presidential inaugural poem. She is very successful at such a young age! Most of America was introduced to her in January, but I am sure this won't be the last we see of this amazing young woman.

As we continue to celebrate women's history month, did you know that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also known as AOC was the youngest woman ever to be elected into congress. She has made powerful statements and remarkable speeches to help our world be the best it can be. Whether or not you agree with her politics, there is no denying that AOC has broken down many barriers and works hard for the people of the United States and to fight for the causes that are important to her. When times get tough, remember the words of Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez when she said, “Change takes courage.”

As we continue to learn about women's history month, did you know that Ruth Bader Ginsburg was the first Jewish female ever on the US Supreme Court? She also helped fight for gender equality and championed many women's rights causes. One of her famous cases she's done was to stop Virginia's Military Institute's male-only admission policy. RBG died at the age of 87 last year on September 18th, but her fight and spirit is carried on by women who were inspired by her life's work.

As we continue to celebrate women's history month, did you know that Oprah became the most successful businesswomen in the world? She has won several Emmy awards and started her own TV production company.

Did you know that Kamala Harris was born in Oakland, California, and was a district attorney for San Francisco? She also is the first ever female vice-president of the United States and wore purple on inauguration day to honor the women's suffrage movement. When it was clear that she and Joe Biden had won the election,  she said in her victory speech, “I may be the first, but won't be the last.”, signalling to young women and girls in the country that they too can strive to break down the barriers of gender inequality in this country.

As we continue with women's history month, did you know Tarana Burke is the founder of the ‘Me Too' movement, and began using the phrase ‘Me Too' to raise awareness of the pervasiveness of sexual abuse, assault, and harassment in society. In 2006, Burke began using metoo to help other women with similar experiences to stand up for themselves. She once said, “Me Too' is about letting - using the power of empathy to stomp out shame.”

As we continue with women's history month, did you know that Sojourner Truth was the first African American woman to sue a white man in a United States court and prevail? Sojourner Truth was once enslaved, and became an outspoken advocate for abolition, temperance, and civil and women's rights in the nineteenth century. Her Civil War work earned her an invitation to meet President Abraham Lincoln in 1864.

As we continue with women's history month, did you know that Gloria Steinem is is an American feminist journalist and social political activist who became nationally recognized as a leader and a spokeswoman for the American feminist movement in the late 1960s and early 1970s. She is the co founder of the Ms. Foundation for Women? The Ms. Foundation for Women focuses on social justice and advancing equity for women.

Did you know that March is Women's History Month?  To Celebrate, I want to share the story of the amazing  Malala Yousafza iShe was only 18 years old when she opened an all-girls school for Syrian refugees, with the slogan “books, not bullets.” She literally put her life on the line to make sure girls could be educated in Pakistan and is an activist for girls education all over the world. At age 17, she became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

March is Women's History Month, and did you know that Susan B. Anthony worked with Elizabeth Cady Stanton to fight for women's rights? She also started petitions for women to have the right to own property and vote.

As we continue to celebrate BLACK HISTORY MONTH...Did you know that Serena Williams is known for her revolutionizing tennis skills? She is one of the best tennis players in the world. She has a powerful style in tennis, and has won more Grand Slam singles titles than any other woman or man during the open era and holds several winning records for a variety of major tennis tournaments.  Serena has earned just over $47 million, more prize money than any woman in the history of sports. She has also earned more prize money than any American tennis player, male or female. What is priceless is her impact on aspiring African American tennis players and young women athletes of all colors.

As we continue to celebrate BLACK HISTORY MONTH...Did you know that Denzel Washington is considered to be one of the greatest American actors? Denzel is very popular for his engaging and powerful performances. Because of his consistent success, throughout his career, he was regularly praised by critics. He pursued acting as his career right after graduating from Fordham University. He has received a Tony awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, 2 Golden Globes. The highest honor for a screen actor is an Academy Award and he has won  2 so far for his roles in the movies Glory & Training Day. 

As we continue to celebrate BLACK HISTORY MONTH...Did you know that Beyonce is one of the most influential and iconic female artists of all time? She has performed in various singing and dancing competitions as a child. She rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of Destiny's Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. She then launched a hugely successful solo career.  She is regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of her time because of her music, image and lifestyle.
