Welcome to Growth Minded, I'm Ed Hayes. My mission for GM is to build a community of leaders committed to cultivating a positive attitude, creating a love of learning, and choosing to develop a growth mindset again and again.
I share some takeaways from Viktor Frankl's "Man's Search for Meaning." I also speak on what I'm grateful for and things I'm looking forward to. For your own growth I challenge you to: Think of 5 moments from last year that build up your spirit & Write down 1 funny moment that would make it into your stand up routine
What if I told you that four year old's who could hold off eating marshmallows for a few minutes were found to have better academic performance at school, better social lives, and were better equipped to cope with important life problems when researchers tracked original participants down years later in high school? This is a profound finding indicating that willpower is a critical habit for individual and organizational success. Without this habit, individuals risk setbacks with their academics, social lives, physical health and finances. Additionally, schools and organizations risk setting up students/employees for failure if they are not equipped with self-discipline to perform under high-stress environments.
In this episode I'll be speaking on some of the implications of immediate gratification in our society. We may be losing the ability to delay gratification because we are constantly stimulated and have the ability to receive immediate gratification now more than any other time in history. The implications affect our finances, health, and safety.
We'll be looking at learning strategies including the pomodoro technique, mental contrasting, mind mapping and recall. This is a throwback video from 2020...enjoy!

In today's faced-paced world, businesses are facing scrutiny from stakeholders including board members, regulators, customers, and prospects.
