In my experience, I found myself stuck on the doorstep of forgiveness due to not understanding those who helped create situations that hurt me. By understanding their state of Being, I was finally able to forgive due to a realization that when people are literally in a state of consciousness incompatible to my own, the likelihood of them creating conflict is inevitable.
