Though Debbie had always felt in control of her diabetes, a cross-country move and the onset of menopause left her feeling stuck, isolated, and overwhelmed- resulting in her highest A1C ever. After hearing about Risely through her daughter's best friend, Debbie took a leap and joined the program, seeking both support and a fresh start. Our season long analysis of Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers concludes with its final track "Mirror." Serving as a lyrical epilogue to the album's emotional climax, “Mirror” delivers Kendrick Lamar's final moral lesson: “I choose me.” With this mantra, Kendrick brings his morality play to a close, rejecting the performance of salvation in favor of spiritual freedom, radical acceptance, and personal peace. Returning to the character of oklama — “my people” — Kendrick offers listeners the same mirror he used to confront ego, trauma, and public expectation. The result is a parting reflection on self-love, unconditional compassion, and the divine power of choosing yourself. Dissect is part of The Ringer podcast network. Poiseuille's Law drives perfusion, and J. Basha, CCP, dissects why it's our physics Bible. He'll unpack flow's reliance on pressure, radius, length, and viscosity—key to circuits and patients. I'll recall early days when a tiny radius tweak tanked a case. You'll apply it to cannulas, tubing, and viscosity control via temp and Hgb. Calculate flows, predict pressures, fix problems fast. Perfusionists live this; OR teams peek into our world. After 40 years, I lean on Poiseuille daily—build your foundation here. Myocardial Protection Strategies: Why Do We Still See RV Dysfunction and Failure? Protecting the heart is cardiac surgery's core, yet RV dysfunction haunts us. J. Basha, CCP, digs into why and how to fight it. Basha will revisit cardioplegia basics—delivery, mixes, temps—then zero in on the RV's quirks and vulnerability. I'll share RV failures that taught me to watch it closer than the LV. Expect advanced moves: retrograde cardioplegia, RV tweaks, and handling pulmonary hypertension. Learn to spot and stop RV trouble from pre-op to post-op. Perfusionists need this; surgeons and anesthesiologists will align better with it. Crack the RV puzzle with us. Stand Your Ground: The AmSECT Guidelines on Hgb. Right or Wrong? Presenter: J. Basha, CCP, Audience Call-In. AmSECT's Hgb guidelines divide us—love 'em or hate 'em, they're up for debate. J. Basha, CCP, leads this call-in clash. Basha lays out the rules, the evidence, and the gripes. Then it's on: Do you stick to them or trust your gut? We'll argue universal thresholds, transfusion risks, and adjuncts like EPO. Bring your stance—students, pros, all voices count. Refine your practice in this showdown. In his latest interview with BizNews, Elections Analyst Wayne Sussman explains why KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's Press Conference was “absolutely devastating”. He says the General's claims “go to the heart of the challenge of the ANC, that President Ramaphosa was going to reform the ANC and course correct after the devastating years of Jacob Zuma leading the ANC”. Intead, “here you have one of his trusted lieutenants, one of his right-hand men, one of the people in the party he's extremely close to, being fingered with the most damning of evidence with ties to the underworld”. He notes that the implicated Police Minister Senzo Mchunu was going to play “a key role in the next election for the ANC to recover all that lost support in KwaZulu-Natal”. Sussman also laments the assassination of African National Congress (ANC) councillor Thabang Masemola in Ward 10 in Mamelodi, saying that “this is becoming too common a feature of Gauteng politics”. Dissecting the latest by-election results, Sussman says the “the DA will say that they are on track on the road to Tshwane, which will be a battleground metro in 2026; uMkhonto weSizwe make inroads in ANC heartland, in Xhosa-speaking heartland; the Freedom Front will say…that they have some hope in the Free State”. He also gives a preview of upcoming elections that could be “really narrative forming on the road to the 2026 local government elections”.

Our season long examination of Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers continues with “Mother I Sober.” This emotionally devastating ballad marks the narrative and spiritual climax of Kendrick Lamar's album. Stripped bare and seated at the piano, Kendrick confronts generational trauma, inherited pain, and the illusion of self that's fractured by abuse, guilt, and silence. Building on the spiritual awareness awakened in “Mr. Morale,” this episode unpacks how Kendrick turns inward with unprecedented vulnerability, guided by the teachings of Eckhart Tolle and buoyed by the divine feminine presences that have supported his healing. You'll Learn: How Kendrick's fragmented narrative and musical structure mirror the psychological effects of trauma and the nonlinear path to healing. Why the song's piano arrangement and mirrored callback to “United in Grief” signify full-circle emotional closure. The symbolism of Kendrick's shattered reflection — and how the broken mirror represents the self before healing. What Beth Gibbons' haunting chorus reveals about ego, identity, and the universal yearning to escape pain. Why “Mother I Sober” is Kendrick's most personal and courageous song to date — and how it breaks the generational curse that defines the album's final act. Fear is the most common force keeping golfers—and people—stuck.  But here's the truth: you're not actually afraid of missing the putt, chunking the chip, or topping your drive.  You're afraid of what it means about you.  Of being judged.  Rejected.  No longer welcome.  In this solo episode, I break down the hidden cost of living in fear and the subtle yet life-changing difference between feeling scared and being fearful. I also discuss timeless wisdom from the Stoics, actionable tools to diffuse fear, and a powerful exercise to help you move forward, on and off the course. In this episode, you'll learn… Why “fear” is a survival state—and why it's keeping you stuck The difference between being scared and being afraid The 3 primal fears that still drive modern-day self-sabotage How fear hijacks your imagination and narrows your focus Why standing out—even in a Saturday foursome—can trigger intense fear How to use action as a tool to break free from fear's grip What Tim Ferriss' “Fear-Setting” exercise can teach you about worst-case scenarios Get your pencils ready and start listening.  Resources Mentioned: Dissecting Fear: Understanding the Invisible Force That Shapes Your Game Nerves or Readiness? Understanding this distinction can unlock courageous action. All fear traces back to three primal drivers: judgment, abandonment, and rejection. Fear hijacks your nervous system and narrows your focus to the worst-case scenario. You don't fear the shot—you fear what it might mean about your worth or belonging. Action is the antidote to fear—it interrupts paralysis and builds self-trust. Avoiding fear feels safe, but it keeps you stuck and drains your energy. Hypnotherapy can help uncover and release the root causes of irrational fear. Key Quotes: “Be scared. You can't help that. But don't be afraid.” – William Faulkner “Fear is a choice. It does not serve you.” “Feeling scared is normal—it means you care.” “Golf is a mirror of your personal development journey.” “Standing out is scary because it threatens your sense of belonging.” “Suffer more often in imagination than in reality.” – Seneca “Avoiding fear keeps you safe.
