I talk on the phone with some interesting people while I sit in traffic on the Long Island Expressway. Guests include comedians, authors, musicians and all around quality folks.

I use very foul language in this one and continue ranting about the government and how expensive being poor in America is. Rich tells us how his trip to the DMV turned out. Boy do I complain quite a bit about financial stress in this episode. We need to drop the stigma attached to being poor. Stop pretending you are temporarily not rich and start being vocal about how the system in designed to make sure you never get ahead. It costs so much money to have no money. It's ridiculous. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/neilrubenstein/support

Me & Rich discuss my Mania. This episode is supposed to be about relapses, but its really just setbacks... and its over all just me talking about the start of the pandemic. Trigger Warning probably.. My good buddy Mike heard the pod with Sam last week about MidSommar and wanted to get in on the conversation. I jumped at the chance to get him back on the pod. We also discuss US and how cool OKC is. Spoilers ahead obviously.
MIDSOMMAR discussion. Spoiler Warning.
We are finally back. I have no excuse. I just wasn’t feeling it. But here we are. Joe Bad kills it on Twitch and sings for the metal/HC band Fit For An Autopsy. He’s also a very cool positive dude. Enjoy this conversation about his band, video games & kids today.
This month we get to hang out with Sean Donnelly of Defend Your Movie podcast. He is a comedian who has been seen on Conan, Colbert & This Week at The Comedy Cellar. He is someone I consider a friend and definitely has a screw loose. He believes the Moon Landing was real, Oswalt killed JFK & there are no lizard people. That seems insane to me.
This started as another video podcast. Bennett Hoffman & Natalie Perlin took a ride with me to the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania. They were amazing travel companions & I recommend taking them with you where ever you go. Bennett produced a documentary on Parkour called People In Motion & Natalie is a Dolly Parton impersonator. That doesn’t even scratch the surface of how interesting these two characters are.
This was another video podcast. Adam Gabel, Gary Garcia & myself drove out to Dayton, Ohio for a fun weekend at Wiley’s Comedy Joint. Adam is an Emmy Award winning lighting designer, as well as a world class stand up comedian.
Paul Conyers & I drove to Cincinnati from Florence, Indiana to do morning radio on WKRQ for The World Series of Comedy. It was a fun drive. We discussed Paul’s southern roots & how to topple the American economy. It’s also available as a video podcast by going to YouTube.com/NeilRubensteinReviewsIt
Emily Wilson is a goddamned star! She's minutes away from being a household name. You heard it here first. She is just wrapping up a stint at Babe.net where she would do fun woman-on-the-street videos. We spoke at length about feminism & sugar daddies.
I've known George for a long time. He was someone I looked up to and has always been cool & kind to me. He was in one of my favorite bands when I found punk rock & hardcore and gave me my first pro touring opportunity. He helped shape my early life more than any one other person had. We don't talk about that at all... We just talk about art & podcasting & the art of podcasting.
I was finally able to lock down a conversation with fellow comedian & podcaster Remy Kassimir. And then I got lost and dropped the call a billion times. This conversation cuts out a few minutes before it would have ended naturally. And I apologize for that. Remy reached out later to see if I wanted to give it a proper ending, but for me, it felt a little ingenuous. I'm a stickler for for the spirit of the pod. Take a listen, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Remy has some really interesting stuff to say about sex & sexuality.
Tank is an old HC kid from Long Island who turned his IG account into a book deal, a TV show and now a stand up career. He's a quality guy and this is a quality episode.
Tema Louise Sall is a comedian & actress from LA. She hosts the Wake & Bake 420 Friendly show & podcast and is a stand in & voice actor on popular sitcom Life In Pieces. It was fun catching up with her on my ride home tonight.
Finally back in 2018. Today we are talking on the phone with Sonya Vai. A very talented comedian from NYC. She is constantly helping me become a better person and this conversation is no different. On this episode, Sonya tries to straighten out my horrible stance on diversity in comedy. Thanks, as always, for listening.
Today I got to talk to Josh Chapdelaine & John Coppinger of Burgerball Podcast. We talk about The Mets, Tacos & MLB stadiums around the country. My phone cuts out for a while. I thought I still recorded an epic rant. I did not. I lost it forever. But essentially, it was about how no matter how hard I work at being a comic, it still isn't REAL work, like the work a roofer would do. Those guys got it tough. I'm just a clown. Thanks for listening!
I met Max White a few weeks back and we hit it off right away. We discuss the night we met, skateboarding, Mac Sabbath & the LA comedy scene.
Khalid Rahmaan, pronounced Khalid Rahmaan, is an exceptionally good up & coming comedian from NYC. He kept me company on my ride into the city today. We discussed white women & industry strategies.
I've been boys with Capone for a million years & we can go two or three years without seeing each other and pick right back up where we left off.... This time we talk about his new Protein Bar & how I don't particularly care for capitalism.
