Last Time on Infinite Deer The Merry Few fatally lose Bo’s last pet cow while navigating their way through the kobold dungeon. They come across a member of The Ancient Circle who is ordering kobolds to keep them locked up. Story The Merry Few engage in combat with the magician-looking wizard and remaining kobolds and manage to successfully fight their way out of the kobold dungeon. Chad, Bo and Merrielle hurry to the city of Karusa in order to stop the city being destroyed with The Ancient Circle’s recently returned human bomb - Azure; but not before Bo finds a farm to slaughter more cows. They enter the city barracks and find Marius, Azure’s father, performing magic on his daughter while she is in excruciating pain. The Merry few take him down and Chad attempts to transfer the magical power from Azure’s body to his. There is an explosion and Chad and Azure are hurled backwards. The city is saved, but both Azure and Chad lie limp on the floor. Azure slowly awakens, but Chad does not. Days later, Bo and Merrielle are pardoned for all their wrongdoings for saving the city of Karusa. They demand a statue of them to be erected in Chad’s honour. Merrielle leaves on a boat to return Chad’s body to his father, while Bo stays to raise Azure as a daughter of Mithras. Quotes Chad: This is my surprise round – it’s where they think I’m gonna be dead, but no! God! DM: You died, and were resurrected before your first turn! Last Time on Infinite Deer While trapped in a dungeon The Merry Few learn that the magical group that they’ve been helping, The Ancient Circle, are planning to destroy the city of Karusa. They attempt to escape. Story The Merry Few have difficulty navigating their way through the Kobold dungeon, particularly with Bo’s pet cow Angela Mer-cow. At first, Chad steps on a pressure pad that activated arrows that shot down the only corridor and was hit. Merrielle manages to dodge them, but Bo and Angela Mer-cow did not fare well. Still taking the lead, Chad then falls into a pit. As Bo prepares to ride Angela Mer-cow as she gingerly tries to step around the pit, Merrielle speaks in moos in an attempt to inspire her. Unsurprisingly, this does not work, and Bo and Angela fall in the pit on top of Chad, injuring Chad further and killing Bo’s last pet. Once Chad and Bo are safely out of the pit they eavesdrop on a conversation nearby between kobolds and a familiar wizard voice. The wizard convinces the kobolds to ‘keep them locked up’ while he attends duties. Merrielle reveals to Chad that the wizard is in fact a wizard and he begins to bring justice to magic users. How will our heroes defeat their former close friend the wizard with a goatee? Will the Merry Few foil The Ancient Circle and save Kurusa? What is the fate of Azure? Last Time on Infinite Deer After playing drinking games with kobolds, the gang find themselves locked in a cell by the very same kobolds they met the night before. A Karusa Guard in the adjacent cell reveals that The Ancient Circle are planning to use Azure, the girl they returned to her wizard father, as a human bomb. Story After interrogating Lorenzo, the city guard officer who has been following them the whole time, the gang find out that an ongoing feud between magic folk and rest of society within Karusa has meant that wizards have formed a group, The Ancient Circle, with the intention of destroying the city. With the agreement that Lorenzo will pardon The Merry Few of their countless bad deeds once back in Karusa, the gang hesitantly let him out. The gang discover they are in a kobold dungeon and attempt to get out. While Merrielle and Chad take the lead, Bo kills Lorenzo in the name of ‘No Witnesses’ and blames it on one of his cows. Chad kills Tilda Swineton-Not-A-Pig-But-In-Fact-A-Cow convinced it was the evil twin of it and Angela Mer-cow. The Merry Few and Angela Mer-cow then come up against more kobolds and a slaad trapped in a cage. Was Tilda Swineton the only evil cow? What awaits our heroes on the other side of the gate? To celebrate, the gang head to the mountains to drink copious amounts of alcohol in a tavern. Story The gang excitedly head to the mountains to celebrate their only good deed done so far – returning the lost girl Azure to her father Marius – and ignore the high kill rate it’s taken to accomplish it. They find a tavern and promptly get drunk playing the drinking game Never Have I Ever with kobolds. The gang wake up in a kobold cell, confused and hungover. After fighting their way out, The Merry Few find a Karusa guard who was locked in the cell next to them. He reveals that the town are afraid that an untrained young sorcerer has been returned to a former-member of The Ancient Circle to use as a weapon to take destroy Karusa. What is the Ancient Circle planning? Who paid the kobolds to kidnap our heroes? Does Chad understand anything about what’s going on at this point? Sadly, the universe had different ideas as three idiots were their favourite pub. With a cow. Oh, and now they are feeding it narcotics from a bag. This city has gone downhill recently. But It wasn’t HyperspaceNumpty’s problem. Could the idiot “heroes” at least avoid HyperspaceNumpty’s pub? At least the cow was having a good time.‬ Last Time on Infinite Deer After a close battle with a stone griffin, The Merry Few steal the key from the city barracks and head back to Ye Olde Cheers to rest. They are awoken to The Magic Circle telling them to leave the city as guards are looking for them. A member agrees to help them escape in exchange for the key. Story The member of the ancient circle leads them to a boat where The Merry Few can escape from the city. After hearing that The Man in the Crimson Coat is residing in the ruins of Ilum – a once lively city which was destroyed when a power hungry sorcerer summoned a demon – the gang agreed to head there. The Merry Few promptly remember that to return the girl, Azure, to her father, The Man in the Crimson Coat, they would probably need to collect her from her babysitter beforehand. The gang head back to the farm where she was left, pick up Azure, a book on turnips and 2 more cows – Angela Mercow and Tilda Swineton (Not a Pig) They eventually arrive at the deserted ruins of Ilum and decide to head to the sound of water. They find Marius, The Man in the Crimson Coat and return his daughter. He recommends that the gang head up to the mountain to the nearest tavern to celebrate – our brave D&D party immediately accepts. What new twists in the tale are coming? Last Time on Infinite Deer While infiltrating the city barracks, The Merry Few decide to waste most of their spell slots killing fantasy Ed Sheeran. Once close to the office where the much needed key is located, they engage in a fight with a stone griffin which proves very difficult. Story In a frustratingly long battle in which Chad falls unconscious a record-breaking 2 times in one fight, the Merry Few are finally victorious against the stone griffin. Once they find the office to the city barracks the boys vent their frustration by smashing up a desk and then defecating on its remains. The key is found along with a broken bottle of much needed health potion. The Merry Few not-so- subtly leave the city barracks and head back to Ye Olde Cheers in hopes of a long rest. Merrielle is promptly woken up by one of the members of the magic circle informing her that the guards are searching for them. The Merry Few manage to convince the Ancient Circle member to assist them in escaping and are given information about The Man in the Crimson Coat in exchange for the key. The member agrees, and with no hit dice to burn, health potions to drink or pet cows to slaughter, the gang nervously head out. They are stopped by 2 guards. Will The Merry Few escape Kurusa? In combat with The City Guards, instinctively slaughters his pet cow, Betsy, in the name of Mithras in order to get temporary hit points. In the aftermath, Bo and Merrielle attempt to make it look like a ‘classic-cow- murder-suicide’ Story Chad is brought back around to find Betsy the cow framed for murder of the guards in the barracks. In order to search through the rest of the barracks, Merrielle decides to dress up as a guard and pretend that Chad and Bo are her prisoners. While searching for the office, our adventurers come across a guard who looks suspiciously like Ed Sheeran and decide to attack. This was promptly followed by an attack by 2 sentient swords who chased them towards the main stair case. The Merry Few find a map room and deduce that the office must be behind the door with the large stone griffin above it. As they are about to enter the stone griffin attacks. Low on health, spell slots and tactical action cows, The Merry Few are nervous. Is Bo griffin shit? Will Chad and Merrielle be able to best the griffin alone? Last Time on Infinite Deer After waking up in Cheers after setting fire to a warehouse, Bo and Merrielle have a very unsuccessful side-quest attempting to obtain pipeweed, and in the process kill and orc, 2 bandits and a Warerat. Merrielle was bitten by the latter. Story While Bo is enjoying the day with his beloved cow Betsy, a member of the Ancient Circle approaches him and gives him details for the barracks raid later that night. Bo then manages to convince the wizard to spend the day with him and Betsy – they have a great day. Merrielle briefly pops to town to buy a shield – not a spear, and meets Chad and Bo back at Ye Olde Cheers. Chad proceeds to give Betsy some of his new found drugs and Merrielle gets drunk. The Merry Few and Betsy – the Tactical Action Cow are now ready for the raid. Instead of waiting for the distraction so carefully put in place by The Ancient Circle, The Merry Few charge into the back door of the barracks and find 4 guards. They are suspicious of the gang, and immediately draw the weapons. Chad is immediately down, Betsy is murdered, and after Bo and Merrielle end the encounter victoriously Bo attempts to make the it looks like a classic ‘cow-murder- suicide’. Last Time on Infinite Deer: A Dungeons and Dragons Podcast Bo and Merrielle meet with members of The Ancient Circle, who said they would reveal the location of The Man in the Crimson Coat if they steal a key from the city barracks. They agree and meet back with Chad who has started a pub-fight in the interim. They set it on fire, and head back to the town. Story The town crier describes an arson attack in the warehouse district which killed many, but The Merry Few are convinced it wasn’t the same fire they started in the warehouse district. Relieved of any guilt, they head into town to pick up supplied before the Barracks raid. Chad and Merrielle decide to bide the time by attempting to search for pipeweed in seedy alleys. Chad approaches an Orc; the most likely drug dealer in his eyes; before realising it’s the same Orc which he initiated a fight with the night before. Another heroic encounter ensues. A weedy and odd-looking man overhears Chad and Merrielle’s plight to find pipeweed and lures them in another alley. Other bandits surround them, the weedy man turns into a were-rat and yet another encounter ensues. Merrielle is bitten, but Chad and Merrielle end as victors before looting the were-rats body for drugs. Meanwhile, they suppose Bo is having a wholesome day out with his favourite cow Betsy. Questions: Is Merrielle a ware-rat? What has Bo and his cow been up to all this time? And wasn’t this all supposed to be leading to a barracks at some point? Last Time on Infinite Deer: A Dungeons and Dragons Podcast Finding out that Azure’s father was a member of the Ancient Circle The Merry Few set out to the city of Kurusa hoping to make contact with them. On the way the gang are attacked by a dire wolf, and Bo buys a cow. In Kurusa, a voice tells Chad and Bo it knows where to find the Ancient Circle. Story The mysterious voice tells Chad and Bo to meet them at the warehouse at the docks at midnight. The gang head to the warehouses and find the only one with lights on which appears to be a pub. An enigmatic man in a cloak exits the pub and Merrielle and Bo follow. Chad remains in the pub and interrogates orcs. The enigmatic man brings Bo and Merrielle to an empty warehouse. They meet The Ancient Circle. Bo and Merrielle ask where The Man in The Crimson Coat is. His name is Marius, and the Circle would only reveal his location if they steal a key from the City Barracks. Merrielle and Bo return to the pub to find Chad has initiated a full-on bar fight, and Chad is already unconscious. Merrielle and Bo drag out Chad just as a candle is knocked to the floor, starting a fire! Will the town crier have anything interesting to say? Will the Merry Few start more fires? Last Time on Infinite Deer: A Dungeons and Dragons Podcast The Merry Few find The Man in the Crimon Cloak’s daughter in the highwayman’s mill. Bo and Merrielle convince Chad that her magic is coming from an umbrella to stop him from ‘bringing her to justice’ with his hammer. Story Merrielle has a heart-to-heart with Azure, the girl, about her father, The Man in the Crimson Cloak. They then reconvene with Bo and Chad who are having ‘morning brewskies’. The gang find out her father was part of The Ancient Circle – a secret organisation of wizards and other magic-users who used to run in the city of Kurusa and head there. Along the way, the group encounter another monster: a dire wolf who instantly mauls and knocks down Chad. Azure shoots fire at the creature which in order to protect the gang helping her. When Chad is healed by Bo, him and Merrielle explain that the fire was caused by the umbrella. As the gang nears the city, Bo Vine impulsively buys a cow, Betsy, from a local farmer who he then hires as a baby-sitting service to look after Azure while the others search for her father in the city. The gang conduct a cunning plan to find The Ancient Circle by loudly claiming they know their secret whereabouts. A voice speaks only to Bo and Chad claiming that he can take them there. Who are the ancient circle? What do they want? What do they like to eat? Are they doing anything this evening? What should I wear? They try and find his mill to take back their precious belongings and stumble upon an Ankeg who is eating a cloaked man. Story The gang find The Highwayman’s mill and scared small girl is found hiding. It is revealed she is The Man in the Crimson Cloaks father who says she was kidnapped and has been living here for the past month. The gang agree to try and return her to her father. The gang find their belongings, weapons and clothes. Bo takes interest in a siege weapon and fires it at the wall of the mill while everyone is still inside. Miraculously, the gang are protected as the little girl creates a force field around them. Chad takes an instant disliking to the girl. After 2 near-TPK encounters the gang need a long rest and agree to head back to Gary’s Coaching Inn. Chad decides not to sleep and rather ‘keep look out’ for the girl, and Merrielle decides to ‘keep look out’ for Chad. Bo enjoys a nice long rest. Bo manages to convince Chad that the girl is not a magic user - but instead simply was near a ‘magical umbrella’. Bo invites Chad to the bar for a morning brewski to celebrate no longer being in the presence of a magic user. Merrielle stays behind and talks to the girl about her father, The Man in the Crimson Coat. Will Merrielle drink with a twelve year old? Will Chad keep hitting her with his hammer? The Merry Few formulate a plan with the help of the local Mayor to ambush The Highway Man in attempt to get their precious belongings back. This time, he has 2 bandits. Story Our D&D party have successfully lured The Highwayman into their carefully planned ambush by dressing Chad up in fancy clothes and having him loudly shout about all the land and wealth he owns. At gunpoint, The Highwaymen recognised Chad instantly and when neither him, Bo or Merrielle could provide any more information on The Man in the Crimson Cloak, Bo’s weakness for bullets is discovered and he is shot. Two more bandits appear. Chad and Merrielle defeat the bandits, along with Chad having a necromancy-based epiphany, and Bo is saved with health potions. Merrielle begins a fetish for collecting corpse hands and starts planning an interesting cosplay. The gang decide to find The Highwayman’s mill in order to collect their belongings. On the way the gang have a nasty monster encounter with a surprise finding. A picture of a secret symbol is found on a scrawny bit of paper, signs point to wizardry. Wasn’t magic illegal in this area? What is the nature of the symbol Bo discovered? Will Merrielle collect more hands? What will our heroes find at the highwayman’s lair?
