In the event of a break in, usually something of value is stolen from a house. But what if someone breaks into your home and steals a single, random item. Your hairbrush. Your pet's ashes. Your family picture but leaves the frame. Your one spare house key? Daniel Krug, patriarch, calls the police after his wife, Kristil comes home and realizes that the spare key they keep hidden in their garage is missing. They could've just misplaced it right? With three young children at home though, the family doesn't want to take any chances. Especially after Daniel, the father, remembers pulling into his driveway, before the key went missing, and saw someone jump their fence and take off running. If someone had broken into their garage, stole their spare key, and nothing else that can really only mean one thing right? They're planning on coming back. Daniel reports it to the police and even gives his statement to the responding officer who visits his house. For nearly three months the family will grow increasingly paranoid after feeling like the burglar never left the house in the first place. That he came back and started doing stranger and stranger things around the house. Until exactly 82 days after the initial report, one of the Krug family members will be found inside the family home. In this special episode of Convos from the Couch, we chat with Olympic diver and author Cassidy Krug to explore what really happens after life's biggest moments. Joined by former fellow diver and Senior Growth Marketing Manager McKenze Rogers, Cassidy opens up about her journey from elite athlete to writer, parent, and someone continually learning to navigate change. Together, they talk about the emotional realities of transition — the uncertainty and the “murk” that often follows major milestones. Cassidy shares insights from her book Resurface, including what she discovered while interviewing dozens of people about the turning points in their own lives. From Olympians and cancer survivors to those redefining themselves after career shifts, she explains how shared themes emerge across very different experiences. Listeners will hear practical ways to move through change with compassion, from embracing vulnerability to giving yourself permission to grieve what you've left behind. Cassidy also offers approachable tools — like novelty weeks, reframing failure, and seeking connection through informational conversations — that can help anyone feel less alone in their next chapter. The investigation into her ex-boyfriend's whereabouts would lead to a shocking discovery: he had an airtight alibi and had never sent a single message. So who was terrorizing Kristil Krug? The answer was closer than anyone could have imagined and the digital evidence would reveal a calculated deception that lasted months.Tonight on Crime at Bedtime, we uncover the truth behind Kristil Krug's murder.Content warning: This episode contains descriptions of domestic violence, stalking, and murder. Why This Episode Is a Must-Listen What can the fine wine market reveal about global economics, behavioral finance, and the quest for value? This episode of Inspired Money is a goldmine for investors, entrepreneurs, and anyone fascinated by luxury markets and economic cycles. Discover how major disruptions, from skyrocketing release prices to geopolitical trade tariffs, reshaped the global wine market, toppled the old guard, and revealed a new playbook for buyers, producers, and brands. Whether you collect wine, follow alternative investments, or want to spot signals before they echo in bigger markets, this episode delivers actionable insights and stories straight from industry insiders. Meet the Expert Panelists Sophia Gilmour is a Market Analyst on the Market Intelligence team at Liv-ex, where she delivers data-driven insights on wine market dynamics, new releases, pricing trends, and Liv-ex indices, helping industry professionals stay ahead in a rapidly evolving market. Blending her background in economics, philosophy, and data analysis with a lifelong exposure to wine, she is also the author of the Power 100 report and a frequent contributor to webinars and industry discussions. https://www.liv-ex.com Robbie Stevens is the Head of Broking at Live-ex, the global exchange for fine wine, market data, and insight. On a daily basis he deals with the largest fine wine buyers and sellers globally, offering them data-driven intelligence and opportunities to trade. With over a decade at Liv-ex and experience across global wine markets, as well as regularly sharing his experience on the international stage, speaking at conferences such as Vinexpo and the National Association of Wine Retailers, he combines deep knowledge of the fine wine market with strong industry perspective. https://www.liv-ex.com Key Highlights: 1. Consistency Is the New Currency in Luxury Markets After years where price equaled prestige, disciplined pricing and brand integrity now drive ranking and investor loyalty. As Sophia Gilmour noted, "The brands that have done especially well this year and traded most frequently perform best on price are those that have adopted more structured, less reactive pricing." This marks a strategic shift from speculative greed to sustainable trust between collectors and producers. 2. Trade Tariffs Exposed Regional Fragility—and the Power of Global Demand When US buyers pulled back due to tariffs, entire categories (especially classic Italian wines) suffered, except for the globally-marketed Super Tuscans. As Robbie Stevens explained, the rapid US exit left Italian trades "fragile and underbid," revealing why diversified demand is essential for resilience. The lesson is clear: in a fragmented world economy, brands that cultivate international appeal will withstand regional shocks. 3. The Rise of the "Drinker-Investor" – Experience Over Speculation Burgundy's shakeup shows collectors are prioritizing wines they actually want to uncork, not just hold. Mid-range labels under £2,000 are now outperforming trophy bottles. Sophia Gilmour observed, "You're forced to think more about the decisions that you're making and why you're making them… It's more cognizance of quality and whether you're guessing what you're paying for." This "flight to value" signals a deeper psychological change in luxury buying. 4. Champagne: A Case Study in Liquidity as a Safe Haven When markets wobble, capital flows into Champagne, for good reason. Grand Marque Champagnes like Dom Perignon and Krug command both high volumes and price stability. As Robbie Stevens put it, "Champagne… has a broader appeal… which means that consumption happens far more regularly than perhaps in other categories." Liquidity, it turns out, is the ultimate market signal. Call-to-Action This week, pick one area of your financial life: investments, spending, or even your career. Ask: Are you acting out of habit or with real agency? Make one disciplined, intentional choice that creates value for the long term. Send us a textEnding the 14th series of The English Wine Diaries on a high with one of the most well known winemakers in the UK, Emma Rice. Emma developed a fascination with fine wine while working as a waitress in The White Horse Inn, Chilgrove as a teenager in the 1990s. It was a chance taste of the 1979 vintage of Krug that was the lightbulb moment that began her career in wine. She got a job at Oddbins – a rite of passage for anyone going into the wine trade in the nineties – and studied here WSETs before travelling to New Zealand for a harvest. Back in the UK and after spotting an advert in the trade press for a Wine Editor, she was taken on as managing editor of Hugh Johnson's Pocket Wine Book, but also got involved with the World Atlas of Wine. It was during this time that she made the move from London to Brighton and enrolled in the newly created Wine Production Course at Plumpton, becoming one of the first cohort of six to graduate in the UK.Time in Napa Valley and Tasmania followed but the excitement of working in the burgeoning domestic industry in the UK led her to return home and set up a wine analysis laboratory and consultancy in the South Downs. Through this, she was introduced to Simon Robinson, the owner of Hattingley Valley Wines, who asked her to build him a winery – the winery today remains one of the largest in the UK. During her 14 or so years at Hattingley, Emma was awarded UK Winemaker of the Year twice, and her wines won many awards including at The Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships and WineGB Supreme Champion. She left Hattingley Valley in 2022 and currently works as an independent consultant winemaker, releasing the first wines under her own brand last year. Emma talks honestly and opening about how the wine industry has changed over the years, including how the challenges she has faced along the way have pushed her to be the winemaker she is today. Do chodby naběhne čtyřicet lidí, kteří dělají strašný bordel. Začnou bušit do všech dveří, bouchají do topení a pouští hlasitou hudbu. Obsazení pokojů tvůrci navíc postupně prohazují a mění. A v čem bude jiná třetí série Zrádců?

When Kristil Krug told friends she was being stalked online, she did everything right. Filed police reports, installed cameras, and tried to always be aware of her surroundings. But the real danger wasn't a stranger in the dark, it was her husband. And it wasn't until after Kristil's murder that investigators would uncover a truth more horrifying than anything she'd ever imagined. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. When 43-year-old Kristil Krug was found beaten and stabbed in her Colorado garage, police thought her past had caught up with her. For months, she'd been stalked and terrorized by who she thought was her ex-boyfriend—sending threats, photos, and messages that tracked her every move. Her estranged husband, Daniel Krug, was "there to protect her."But as police dug deeper, they realized that what began as a stalking case spiraled into one of the most chilling, calculated domestic murders Colorado has ever seen.************************************************************************************************Podcast Promo: Darkcast Network*************************************************************************************************Do you have thoughts about this case, or is there a specific true crime case you'd like to hear about? Lillian King's debut album In Your Long Shadow arrives October 24th via Pronounced Kroog, with its first advance single “Tiber Creek” landing August 26th. Written shortly after the passing of her father, “Tiber Creek” offers a haunting glimpse into the album's emotional landscape, transforming a simple walk across Washington, D.C. into something expansive and meditative. Her father's ritual walks to the hospital along the National Mall, past memorials, monuments, and the invisible flow of Tiber Creek buried beneath the city, anchor the song's vivid imagery. Lillian's voice, warm and mournful, carries a quiet intensity through every line, reflecting on place, memory, and the way certain moments linger long after everything else changes. “Tiber Creek” also marks the beginning of Lillian's collaboration with Spencer Krug, whose indie rock resume needs little introduction—Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Moonface. Krug, who rarely steps outside his own projects, connected deeply with Lillian's stripped-back performances while on tour together in 2024. Signing her to his label, Pronounced Kroog, was instinctive. That rare co-sign lends weight here, but Lillian's voice carries the story, elevated by her bandmates Robert Salazar (drums) and Nick DePrey (keys), with producer Jack Henry shaping the soundscape. The track leans into mood more than spectacle: dusty drums, upright bass, and creaky piano lines swirl around Lillian's singular vocal tone. The arrangement leaves room for quiet moments to land, capturing the bittersweet ache of mid-winter reflection. This is indie-folk at its most elemental, echoing the timelessness of Bill Callahan or Sharon Van Etten, but with a wind-whipped edge that's entirely Lillian's. Syngenta Flowers' Dr. Brian Krug and Dr. Jamie Gibson join Tech On Demand host Bill Calkins to discuss the exciting world of begonias, focusing on both vegetative and seed varieties. They explore the latest introductions, production best practices and the importance of lighting and PGRs in growing high-quality begonias. The discussion highlights the growing popularity of begonias in gardening and their versatility in various applications. One of the top new introductions at California Spring Trials in 2025 was iCandy, a vegetative series of hybrid begonias for quarts and up—with double flowers and dark foliage—and Brian spends time detailing production best practices before moving on to other vegetative series including Adora (perfect for baskets), Birthday Bash (more traditional, waxy foliage and double flowers) and Florencio (a boliviensis hybrid). Then Jamie goes through tips and tricks for producing a few newer seed-raised series from Syngenta including Bossa Nova (boliviensis types), Bionic (large, interspecific landscape type) Tophat (early-to-flower interspecifics with huge flowers) and Limitless (tuberous). For each series, Brian and Jamie discuss production recommendations from propagation through finish—including lighting protocols, PGR regimes, temperature requirements and much more. Strategies to reduce the risk of blind cuttings are also shared. WATCH THE VIDEO! On this week's Talkhouse Podcast, we've got a repeat customer along with his well-known photographer friend-slash-collaborator who's done some record covers you're definitely familiar with. It's Ruban Nielson and Neil Krug. Nielson is the frontman of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, the band he started in his native New Zealand before relocating to Portland, Oregon, where he still lives. UMO, as the band is affectionately known, has often been categorized as psych-rock, but I'm not sure that label is accurate or complete. There's definitely some oil-lamp vibes going on, but there's something more personal and direct happening underneath the swirling guitars and hooks. That's maybe never been more true than on this year's Curse EP, which was Nielson's way of writing and creating through the grief of his younger sister's untimely death from cancer. He channeled that energy into songs that were also inspired by ‘70s Italian horror movies and gloomy metal records, but somehow it's not a bummer at all. Check out “DEATH COMES FROM THE SKY” right here. As you know if you're a regular listener of this podcast, we mostly feature musicians, occasionally actors, every once in a while a producer or writer. But I'm not sure if in all of these years we've ever welcomed someone chiefly known as a photographer. That changes today, with Neil Krug, whose photographs you've likely seen even if you don't know his name. Krug is maybe best known for his shots of Lana Del Rey, and he also did the iconic cover of Tame Impala's The Slow Rush. He and Ruban go way back, having worked on artwork and photos for Unknown Mortal Orchestra over the years—and maybe in the future? In this great conversation, these two chat about the making of Curse, working together on UMO's Sex and Food record as well as other UMO stuff, the ridiculously over-the-top reaction of Ruban's fans to his dabbling in AI artwork, and the joys of David Lynch. Enjoy. 0:00 – Intro 2:20 – Start of the chat 3:02 – On making Curse and music as therapy 10:20 – Nielson on AI tools and the reaction from UMO fans 16:50 – UMO's "analog-only photography" policy at shows 21:42 – How Krug and Nielson first met 25:45 – Nielson's cape phase 26:42 – On UMO's Sex and Food and the color blue 27:50 – Sex and Food's original title was... 31:51 – On SB mixes, Hanoi, Curse, and other non-traditional UMO records 34:45 – On David Lynch and the power of cinema 36:00 – The story behind The Slow Rush artwork 40:41 – Predictions on the next UMO record 44:02 – On "darky, spooky aesthetics" Thanks for listening to the Talkhouse Podcast, and thanks to Ruban Nielson and Neil Krug for chatting.
