The Jivamukti Yoga with Jessica Stickler podcast is an incredible resource for anyone looking to deepen their yoga practice. Jessica Stickler, a renowned yoga teacher from Jivamukti Yoga School in NYC, brings her expertise and passion to each episode, creating a unique and transformative experience for listeners.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is Jessica's teaching style. Her voice is soothing and her instructions are clear and easy to follow. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced practitioner, she provides modifications and variations to make the practice accessible to all levels. Additionally, Jessica's sense of humor shines through in her classes, creating a lighthearted and enjoyable atmosphere.

Another great aspect is the variety of classes offered. Each episode focuses on a different theme or intention, allowing listeners to explore various aspects of their practice. Whether it's a class aimed at building strength, finding balance, or cultivating mindfulness, there is something for everyone in this podcast.

Furthermore, Jessica's podcasts are incredibly convenient for those who are unable to attend her classes in person. Play Episode Listen Later Jul 3, 2023 78:48

One of the five yamas (restraints) - which are practices recommended for practitioners of yoga - Aparigraha is the practice of non-grasping. This could be said in many ways... simplicity, not taking too much, not hoarding wealth or even the Buddhist AND Franciscan practices of non-possession.  The phyiscal practice focuses mainly on twisting. In particular, opening the outer hip/it band area in order to access certain types of twists. The focal asana here is eka pada koundinyasana (the twisty one) but you can always skip whatever you need to to make the practice right for you.
