A federal judge has found probable cause to hold the Trump administration in criminal contempt of court after deportation flights to El Salvador continued despite a direct court order to halt them. Judge James Boasberg said the administration tried to outrun the legal system — even launching deportation flights during the March 15 court hearing. Those aboard were deported under Trump's newly invoked Alien Enemies Act — a wartime law not used since World War II — targeting alleged gang members from Venezuela. But the plaintiffs say their clients were not gang members and that they were ripped off without due process to avoid a Salvadoran prison notorious for human rights violations. It didn't stop there. Secretary of State Marco Rubio retweeted a mocking post from El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele reading, "Oopsie. Too Late." Boasberg called the administration's actions "gleeful defiance." The administration has until April 23 to reverse the damage or name names identifying who made the call to ignore the judge. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
David Waldman is not April fooling. Why devote a single day of our year to cruel jokes when with Donald K. Trump, every day can be one? The real April Fools' day is tomorrow when all, none, or some of Trump tariffs go into effect. Europeans have a plan for handling whatever Trump brings on, Americans, well, not so much. The Trump administration is warning companies throughout Europe to cut out their DEI, CRT... whatever they call it in their counties, or else. America paid El Salvador just to take their prisoners, sadly, there is no “return policy”. Oopsie! You, on the other hand, are not yet on route to a detention facility. Why is that? Doge pirates take over the Federal payroll system. The old crew walks the plank. Elon isn't saving the government money but saved himself $500 million on the cool previous headquarters of the United States Insititute of Peace. Big Elections are happening today in Wisconsin and Florida. Congratulations to Nicholas Jacobs and Ekaterina Diestler big winners in Elon Musk's — April Fools! No joke! Cory Booker goes to Washington and has been going Jimmy Stewart for over 15 hours as I write this.

John's monologue discusses the continuing saga of Atlantic EIC Jeffrey Goldberg. Following a day of deflection, denials and attacks on his reporting; he published the content of the Signal group chat he was added to. The released messages show the top administration officials involved in the message thread were misleading at best, downright lying to Congress at worst, when it came to the content and their role in the conversation. Congressional Republicans spent another day downplaying the scandal the way a Texas judge downplays a wealthy white teenager who commits vehicular homicide. The Signal scandal has forced VP Vance to cancel all but one stop on his looming trip to Greenland, even as Pres. Trump doubled down, calling its annexation something we “have to have.” He also talks about Tufts University who released a statement denouncing the arrest and abduction of an international graduate student outside her off-campus housing by Homeland Security. Rumesya Ozturk of Turkey was detained and had her student visa revoked, reportedly for an op-ed she co-authored in the university newspaper. Then, Bob Cesca returns to delve into pop culture and ponder over the stupidity of Signalgate. Next, John speaks with The God Squad featuring former pastor Desimber Rose and theologian Dillion Cruz. They discuss the un-Christian act of republicans gutting Medicare and Medicaid. And finally, legal analyst Dr. Tracy Pearson joins the crew to talk listeners off the ledge with common sense answers to real world struggles..See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This week, we're swimming through a tidal wave of chaos, starting with the rollercoaster of comments I've been getting lately. Last week, Jeanette was tossing shade, but this week, the love is flowing from RC Kelly and Cordell—though my new pal Munchlax hit me with an iconic "you're so gay." Thanks, buddy. Real helpful.Meanwhile, Elon Musk is under attack (again), and naturally, he's blaming mental illness for people blowing up Teslas and spray-painting swastikas on superchargers. Shocker, right? Apparently, it's not because people might be a teensy bit upset about Doge-related cuts affecting veterans, food banks, medical research, or that accidental cancellation of Ebola research funding. "Oopsie" doesn't quite cut it, Elon. And speaking of Doge, Musk and his buddy Trump's latest financial freeze means farmers and nonprofits like Passa in Pennsylvania haven't received funding for months. Now, their employees can't get paid—which means neither can I. Elon, bro, now you've crossed the line by messing with my wallet. What are we doing? In lighter news (well, sort of), I stumbled onto American Idol after like 17 years, only to realize it's basically TikTok auditions now. Nobody actually "wins," except maybe Kelly Clarkson, but that's ancient history. This week, viral TikTok star Sophie Powers performed her masterpiece, "Shut the F*** Up," which I hate to admit actually slaps. Laundry, groceries, traffic—shut up indeed. Still, the show's become nothing more than influencers trying desperately to make a 60-second viral clip.Of course, no episode is complete without food opinions. The MD Foodie Boys debated wings, and let's just say if you're ordering honey barbecue, we're not friends. Shout-out to Alibis in Carlisle for perfect wings, RIP thanks to a drunk college kid. Wingstop's lazy employees ruined my order so many times they put my name on the wall—free wings forever, I guess? Haven't cashed in yet; don't want to seem petty. Finally, in tech news, the Pebble smartwatch is back from the dead—thankfully without any AI nonsense. It has a 30-day battery, looks retro-cool, and is totally open-source. The Trump administration was ordered by a federal judge over the weekend to immediately return hundreds of Venezuelan migrants that had been wrongfully deported after Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act, but his administration decided to completely ignore the court's order. In fact, they didn't just ignore it, they decided to openly mock it with Steven Cheung saying "Oopsie, too late." This egregious abuse of power is not going to sit well with the court, but their options for punishment could be limited.Donald Trump has apparently fallen for a string of misinformation coming from The Heritage Foundation (the group that put together Project 2025) and he's now accusing President Biden of using an "auto pen" to sign documents, including his pardons for the January 6th Committee and Dr. Anthony Fauci. Trump has now declared that these pardons are, therefore, null and void, and suggested he may move forward with prosecutions. A left-leaning politician in France told an audience over the weekend that the United States should return the Statue of Liberty because obviously we don't believe in it anymore. This is the latest in a growing string of anger towards the US coming from our closest allies in Europe, and it shows how badly Donald Trump has harmed those relationships in less than two months in office. A Trump voter was shocked that ICE detained his wife as they tried to return from their honeymoon in Puerto Rico. The man told USA Today that he is panicked and doesn't know what he can do to help his wife, and said that he didn't know "how" it was "going to go down" with Trump's crackdown on immigrants. But this is EXACTLY what people were warning about before the election, so there really is no excuse.
"Oopsie, too late. "That post on X from the President of El Salvador got retweeted by Secretary of State Marco Rubio over the weekend with a laugh-crying emoji over a headline about a judge's ruling. The judge ordered the Trump Administration not to deport Venezuelans to El Salvador. That came after a Brown University physician in the United States on an H1-B visa from Lebanon was sent back. Even though a federal judge issued an order that she appear at an in-person hearing on Monday. In a court filing today, lawyers for the government said US Customs and Border Patrol officers said they didn't learn of the order until after the doctor was sent back. The administration insists it is not defying court orders. Trump hasn't yet openly and explicitly defied the courts.
