This week Mark and Jair are super excited to discuss the non stop action of the NBA and NHL playoffs. This week we have already seen upsets in the early stages of the playoffs. Both number one seeds in the NBA playoffs, the LA Lakers representing the west, and the Milwaukee Bucks representing the east, lost in their opening games of the playoffs. There are other great matchups to watch within the NBA Bubble. Is it because of the bubble or did everyone underestimate both 8 seeds? Only time will tell. The Major League Baseball season is still going on. A little bit of controversy in regards to Fernando Tatis Jr maintaining a reason to play hard late in blowout wins and hitting a Grand Slam. Was Tatis wrong for playing hard and hitting a Grand Slam in a blowout or was he right for willing to play hard? Thom Brennaman is catching a lot of heat for his recent comments during a Reds-Royals game.

It's been a long road since this podcast has started and it's been months since any sport has been played. The NBA started their scrimmages on July 22nd and from the looks of it, life in the NBA Bubble seems like a fun time. On July 23rd, the New York Yankees visited the Washington Nationals and the Los Angeles Dodgers hosted the San Francisco Giants. The NHL should be coming back next week as they will only play in Canada. The NFL is gathering itself as players want to know how to deal with health and safety protocols. Over the past weekend star players such as JJ Watt and Russel Wilson voiced their displeasure when it came to the preparation and protocol the NFL has shown when it comes to dealing with the CoronaVirus. Training camp is slated to return July 28th, but seeing how there is a lack of preparation on behalf of the NFL, few would be surprised to see the Training Camp start date get delayed. For Major League Baseball it's interesting. Divisions will be matched up for 60 games against their divisions whether it's American League or the National League. It'll be different watching 30 man rosters and an extra 30 men who'll be right behind ready and waiting. One of the most recent interesting moves to happen in MLB is Mookie Betts signing a 13-year contract extension with the Dodgers, The NBA will be fun to watch when the Regular Season returns next week. Questions remain as we see if Kawhi Leanord will still have, “load management?” Also, how will Lebron and the Lakers continue to dominate? Will we see Giannis lead the Bucks to the Finals? All those will be huge questions with the Association scheduled to come back. The NHL is slated to return on August 1 and will be going straight to the playoffs with 24 teams. Will the Bruins try to avenge their Stanley Cup Finals loss from last year? Will the Blues repeat as champions? It's going to be interesting to watch as they get ready. Mark and Jair hope you all take the right amount of protective measures in order to remain safe throughout the circumstances we face today. We are sad to see a spike of COVID-19 cases rising again. Please be sure to wear masks and use protection at all times. Stay tuned for more episodes of Mark and Jair Explain Sports. This past Saturday and Monday, Eagles Wide Receiver, DeSean Jackson, decided to post a series of pictures containing Hitler quotes criticizing the Jewish community. None of this was necessary or needed to make a point about Black Lives Matter. The Jewish community is deeply affected by it. People like Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe spoke against what was said and condemned former NBA Player, Stephen Jackson, about following up and his comments about the matter. MLB, the NHL and the NBA are coming back later on this month amid the COVID-19 pandemic still being an issue around the world. A couple of things came up about the future of the Brooklyn Nets. Will Michael Beasley be with the team and serve as a bench piece in the future and play alongside his childhood friend Kevin Durant? Is this it for Jamal Crawford? Can he serve as a bench piece when Kyrie and KD are back next season? We shall see. Lastly, what's going on with MLB? Mark and Jair are both fans of a National League East team. Mark with the Phillies and Jair with the Mets. It's interesting to see what both teams can do in a Division that features the NL East champion, Atlanta Braves and the defending Wild Card Winner and World Series Champion, Washington Nationals. What does a 60-game 2020 season have in store for us? Between the mentioned teams along with powerhouses like the New York Yankees, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, etc who will come out to be champion? Well, who will come out to be champion if there is a season?
