Hosts Joe Maddon and Tom Verducci start with the Dodgers' 2-0 lead over the Phillies. This hasn't been about what Philly isn't doing, we're just seeing the Dodgers play up to their potential. The Cubs could be in trouble as the Brewers are rolling. Onto the AL, the Blue Jays' bats have come alive against the Yankees. Tom has a front row seat for the Tigers and Mariners, as the only series that sits tied at 1-1. We look at the pitching so far in the postseason and how scientific the teaching has become. Tim, in spirit of that and Vladdy, came up with a Father-Son Team Tim that is spectacular and very specific. We love getting yours too! Don't forget to send them, check out the GreatGameOrWhat.com for more info. We also hear some great notes On This Date in baseball history and the Quirkjians that occurred in the first week of the postseason. The MLB Postseason started this past Tuesday when the Dodgers played the Reds. But today, it felt like the PLAYOFFS started. In Game 1 of the National League Division Series, Shohei Ohtani pitched six innings for the win, Roki Sasaki capped a good team bullpen performance to earn the save, and Kiké Hernandez and Teoscar Hernandez both had HUGE hits to give the Los Angeles Dodgers all the runs they needed. Tyler Glasnow and Alex Vesia also have big relief appearances, Andy Pages might have done some really smart pitch reading from the bases, and Phillies manager Rob Thomson might have made a managing blunder that helped LA. In the end, the Dodgers won a crucial Game 1 to steal home-field advantage and now have a chance to get greedy and win Game 2 to head home to LA needing just one more win. Can they win Game 2? We'll find out on Monday. For now, let's enjoy this one. Tube in all season long! Leave a voicemail or text the Friend of the Show hotline!
