The New York Mets won another series this weekend, blowing out the Oakland Athletics in two of the three games. But will they come back to regret the game they didn't win? Host Ryan Finkelstein recaps the weekend series and how Jacob deGrom's worst start in four years could come back to haunt the Mets in their division race against the Atlanta Braves. Also is it time of the Mets to give up on Darin Ruf and give the remaining at-bats to rookie Mark Vientos? Or should they look for a lift from a former regular, with Dom Smith tearing the cover off the ball in Triple-A? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Hour 1 Gio & Sal start a Tuesday morning off with baseball as today is the trade deadline. Both teams won last night and the Yankees made their big moves. Are the Mets next? Gio and Sal are frustrated and hoping the Mets don't let an opportunity pass them by because they want to hold onto prospects. The guys give kudos to Brian Cashman for making two moves and adding three good players. C-Lo is in for Jerry and starts the update with a  recap of a busy day of deal-making for Brian Cashman. The Yankees then beat the Mariners thanks to four home runs, including Aaron Judge's 43rd. The Mets won their 7th game in a row, taking the series opener from the Nationals. Jacob deGrom will make his first start in over a year Tuesday night. In the final segment of the hour, Gio can't believe the tear Aaron Judge is on, or that teams are still pitching to him. How significant is Judge's chase for 61 home runs this season? Gio still believes Judge could leave the Yankees after the season. Hour 2 The 7am hour starts with the guys recapping how the Yankees and Astros both were aggressive on Monday and how today it's time for the Mets to join the party. Can Dom Smith be part of a trade with the Red Sox for JD Martinez? Yankee fans get upset when Sal wonders if you can trust any player having the kind of season Aaron Judge is. C-Lo returns for an update and gives us the details on all of the arms the Yankees picked up on Monday as well as a win over the Mariners. The Mets extended their winning streak to 7 with a win over the Nats. Gio is bothered by the Orioles trading Trey Mancini. Pads came on at training camp for the Jets and Giants and CLo has sound from each team. In the last segment of the hour, Gio discusses having to put a family dog down yesterday. Hour 3 The 8am hour opens with Gio and Sal talking about how they don't see Juan Soto being dealt on Tuesday. If Soto is traded, would he sign an extension right away? Plus, Jacob deGrom returns to the mound tonight and Met fans are excited to see him pitch. Sal recalls a time when he and Gio dined and dashed but Gio doesn't remember. CLo returns with highlights from a Yankee win. Jose Trevino hit two homers while Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo each added one. A caller thanks Gio for the Aaron Judge camp recommendation and Peter Schwartz will throw out the first pitch at the Somerset Patriots game tonight and Peter calls in to discuss his excitement. In the final segment of the hour, the guys react to a report that Juan Soto and Josh Bell could both be headed to San Diego. Hour 4 The 9am hour begins with a discussion of how the clock is ticking on the Mets to make a move before 6pm. Gio and Sal would both like to see more teams around baseball try to win. CLo is back and has a whole lot of deadline rumors for his final update this morning. The Yankees beat the Mariners and the Mets took care of the Nationals. In the final segment of the show, Gio tells a story about Mike Francesa dooming and glooming the Miracle on the Hudson and then turning the sound on the TV up to be proven wrong right away.

What's up, Pleasant Good Eveningers... This week, pinch-hitter and friend of the pod Rob Piersall from Mets Legends fills in for Sam (tonsillitis, 10-day IL) alongside Jack to break down the Mets hellishly long West Coast roadtrip. Plus, Jack and Rob talk about how threatening these Braves and Phillies winning streaks are. And, picking up the pieces with Holderman hurt and Nogosek back in Triple-A. Also, Noah Syndergaard was being a weirdo this weekend with the Mets in Anaheim. Jack and Rob get into his decision to avoid the media. They also chat about Dom Smith's future as a Met since his demotion to Syracuse. And they finish up with a mailbag question! Give Rob a follow on Twitter @RTPiersall and over at @MetsLegends, and enjoy the episode! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/sam-lebowitz9/support
