As you move through challenging life experiences, how are you using your thoughts? Are you using them? … or are they using you? I believe one of Katie Baird's gifts to the world is her ability to articulate the power of focused thinking to help us heal. Through sharing her personal story of healing from multiple physical and emotional traumas, Katie beautifully illustrates how so much of our healing journey is about learning to reach for a better feeling thought; to consciously choose a different lens through which to view our experience. This is the real essence of what comes through for me in our conversation. As a writer, Katie is truly gifted with words. She uses her gift to show us how she renegotiated her relationship with fear, and ultimately chose love over fear, by using ‘anchor thoughts' to stabilize herself when conditions in her life were rough. Katie Baird is a copywriter who runs her own agency, Katie Baird Agency, and is authoring her first book, a memoir of her experience healing from her first marriage. An Amazing Positive Loop with Emily Getz

“I'm so far away from the life I was supposed to have.” Just one of the beautiful and profound statements Emily Getz makes in our open and frank conversations about her experience moving through secondary pregnancy loss and infertility. She stopped me in my tracks with this statement because I believe it's a familiar refrain for so many of us (whether consciously or unconsciously); this belief that we should be somewhere other than right where we are. In Emily's case, this idea she was missing out on the life she was supposed to have related to building her family. But of course, we can think this way about other aspect of our lives too, like our work, social or financial status, the quality of our relationships, or even our spiritual development. And when this belief is active within us, it can really suck all the fun and enjoyment out of the here and now, as Emily so beautifully illustrates through a story about her son Ryder. We cover a lot of ground in this episode, but the overarching message is the need to let go of the life you thought you were supposed to have so you can have (and enjoy) the life meant for you. Letting go of beliefs, thoughts and things that aren't true to who we are, is essentially what healing allows us to do. And when we are willing to move through this painful and often scary process of healing, what awaits us on the other side is often unexpected (but super cool!) and always in alignment with the truth of who we are. For Emily, one of those unexpected outcomes is the creation of her new podcast. Day 1 aims to normalize the experience of pregnancy loss and infertility - particularly here in Canada where for the most part, the conversation has yet to penetrate the mainstream - through interviews with experts and people with lived experience of infertility. By carving out space for these important conversations, Emily hopes to create an amazing, positive loop: a better educated public who can respond more effectively to people experiencing infertility, who will then feel more understood by the people around them and be more likely to share their experience which will continue to educate the public ... An amazing positive loop, indeed. To connect with Emily directly and subscribe to her podcast, follow her on Instagram @_day1podcast. I reached Emily at her home in Toronto.

The intangible is always working in our lives. That's what Andrea Moyah Trucilla, Cree Medicine Woman and Modern Mystic, wants you to know. Understanding exactly what that means and learning how to tap into this intangible Spirit world is what she teaches through her School of the Mystic Arts and her 1:1 work with intuitive healers. Her healing journey began at the age of 19 when she started practicing yoga. At the time, she believed the feeling of your chest caving in; of not being able to take a full breath, was a normal state of living. This began the reintegration process of her soul returning to her body and was the catalyst for her to powerfully claim her psychic abilities. There is often a lot of fear when we contemplate tapping into the entirety of ourselves and awakening our soul purpose. Andrea and I discuss how this fear serves a purpose: it has kept us safe during the long period of our past when it hasn't been safe to live openly as our true selves. But now, it is safe, and Andrea delivers a powerful question for our listeners straight from Spirit: What is your hero story? Because it is time to tap into that and propel your life forward. It's time. We have a lively conversation, with Andrea channeling directly to Spirit, about how to do this and things to be prepared for in responding to this call to action from your soul. If you are feeling a pull to more but don't yet understand it or know how to respond, this episode is for you. Do you believe everything that comes into your life, you attract? The good, the bad, the ugly? I do ...now, but I didn’t always. And I know from my experience arriving at this knowing, that accepting responsibility for everything that shows up in our lives can be a tough pill to swallow. Obviously some of the things which show up in our lives (like the bad, and perhaps the ugly :) we don’t intend to attract. But as I’ve learned, the process of creation works the same whether we are employing it deliberately or not. 2 weeks ago I got a bad burn. Like, bad. The worst I can remember, maybe the worst I’ve ever had. In this episode of Calibrations, I share the circumstances around “the burning”, the process I went through to understand how it was I attracted this experience and ultimately, what it was here to teach me. In a nutshell: Perception truly is everything; it 100% shapes our reality. We can choose to look at things in our lives as happening to us or happening for us. We can choose to see challenging events as evidence of our “bad luck” or as an opportunity for growth,. The feelings we experience in every moment …. elation, sadness, frustration, peace, empowered, disempowered … they are simply the result of our interpretation of the experience - not the experience itself. As we learn more about who we truly are and this beautiful, orderly Universe in which we live, we expand our awareness and more perspectives become available to us. We begin to realize that, in all situations, every emotion is available to us - and with study, courage and a bit of practice, we can give ourselves permission to choose any one.

Do I have to lose everything to lose my fear of losing everything? Powerful question, right? I’ve been turning this over in my head for the past week. The seeds of this question were planted for me to hear in an Abraham Hicks session I listened to on YouTube. I am a big fan of their teachings and listen daily. In this particular session, a gentleman wanted to earn a billion dollars and asked Abraham: what do I need to do? Their response was: want it and believe it’s possible. They went on to say that often the reason we humans don’t have the results we want in our lives … the huge bank balance, the lover and soul mate who lights us up at every moment of every day, the beautiful house on the lake … (ok yes, those are the things that I want :) is because we want things but we block with our belief. We want it, but we don’t believe it’s possible or possible for us, and this holds us separate and apart from the things we want. As someone who recently started over in her life I can relate to the fear of losing everything. In the past 2 years, I’ve released most of what I accumulated in 20 years of life, work and partnership: a 15 year career, an almost 20 year relationship, a comfortable income provided for me largely by my former partner, a lovely large house in a great neighbourhood in Toronto, many of my friends, some family. I released all this in order to rebuild a life that is aligned with who I really am and why I’m here. Interestingly, this fear of losing everything was more poignant for me post-separation than pre-separation. Meaning, it wasn’t until I began building my new life that I noticed fear was driving many decisions related to how I lived and worked. Recently, I received evidence of how I’ve calibrated to a higher frequency and my fear of losing everything is (mostly) gone. What happened? I share my experience of how I identified the belief that was contributing to my fear, how I changed it and the evidence I see now in my physical environment. If you like digging into the nitty gritty of daily thoughts and emotions, this episode is for you :) I’m Lorna Morin and you’ve been listening to SHE. Inspired. New Segment! Hello wonderful women! I am trying something new. I’m calling it: Calibrations. Ok, check this out: as I tune in, more and more, to the truth of my being; to the energetic being I am - we all are - I am starting to have a different relationship with nature. I’m starting to be in communication with nature. I’m realizing, I am one with nature. It’s not just happening around me, it is connected to me - I am an extension of it … of Source energy, Spirit, The Universe, God, whatever you call this higher power which governs our being. As I go on this journey, I want to share the signs that I’m seeing and experiencing in my day to day life in the hopes of stimulating conversation, reflection and consideration within in you, about who you are, what you are and why you’re here. Now, I am by no means an energy expert. I am, however, a very dedicated and devout student, and in the last two years, I have been studying what it means to be who we actually are: energetic beings living in an energetic Universe. I’m learning more everyday, and what I’m learning has had powerful and positive implications in my own life so I want to share it! So Calibrations will be short snippets of my own experience reading the signs and enhancing my understanding of energy, alignment and our power as women and humans to create our own realities. SHE. Inspired Calibrations. Here we go :) Episode 1. The Birds I have a thing with birds. Whenever I see one … in the sky or in a flock, I feel like the Universe is speaking to me. It’s a knowing I have, and it’s hard to explain, but essentially birds are my spirit guide. In this first episode of Calibrations, I share a CRAZY experience I had earlier this week at the Beach in downtown Toronto. I call this series Calibrations because I want to share snippets of my process and experience as I learn how to tune in to my inner being and align to the Source energy that surrounds us and governs our being. What happened to me on the Beach this week, I interpret it as a sign that I am shifting my energetic frequency - a good sign :) What I’ve learned is that there are literally signs from the Universe, little miracles, extraordinary things, happening all the time. It’s just that unless we are vibrating on the same frequency of these occurrences, we aren’t aware of them.

This is the term Jen Holly uses to describe what many of us (myself included) would usually refer to as a midlife crisis. “I’m having a crisis” versus “I’m having an awakening.” Talk about reaching for a better feeling thought! To me, this is what Jen Holly exemplifies: the journey and process for choosing better feeling thoughts to describe what is going on around us. Jen opens up about a difficult moment in mid-life when, after years and years of not feeling and pushing things down, she decided to allow all her feelings to rise to the surface. How did she do it? Why did she do it? How did she know this was the right thing to do? For Jen, it was a combination of training in the powerful Law of Attraction and following her intuition. The results held powerful lessons for Jen and, I believe, for all of us who can relate to looking outside ourselves for answers to big internal questions about who we are, why we’re here and what we want. What can open up for us when we allow old energy to surface and release? What can we invite in when we break down our false selves, silence our inner critic who occupies so much of our attention, and welcome our authentic selves? We discuss the answers to these questions and how Jen, having found her own creativity, her own power, her own abundance, is helping others do the same through her Law of Attraction coaching program. Her commitment to a system of practices to support setting, monitoring and celebrating her goals is inspiring and illustrates her ability to use action to bring her core values to life, something she also does for her lucky clients through her impact agency called smak. We talk about her sacred morning routine, the practical strategies she swears by and her ability to find the opportunity in any situation. Born in South Africa, Claire emigrated to Canada at the age of 20 right when she was on track to launch an exciting career in advertising in Johannesburg. Coming to Canada wasn’t her first choice (she fully admits!) and initially, she found herself caught in that (sadly) familiar immigrant experience loop of being unable to find employment without ‘Canadian work experience’. But instead of lamenting, she decided to use this opportunity to start her own company and bring the grassroots marketing strategies she learned in South Africa to the Canadian marketplace to benefit Canadian companies. And thus Smak was born. Definitely driven, Claire also appreciates the ebbs and flows inevitable in life and that we can’t be going 100 mph all the time. Linda explains so beautifully the value of contrast: how knowing what we don’t want brings into focus what we do want. She gave herself the opportunity to really explore her first career choice from several different angles before arriving at the understanding she was in fact meant to take all she learned from her roles as a designer, sales woman and business developer and apply it to creating and growing her own business as a Ayurvedic Wellness Counsellor at Breathe Baba. In the Arabic language, Baba means father and Linda explains beautifully how her father and their relationship shaped and inspired the name of her company and her approach to service delivery. Born in Kuwait as the youngest of 7 children in a Palestinian family, Linda travelled to more countries in her childhood than I have so far in my entire life, before settling in Canada at the age of 6. Her mother was a natural healer who cared for their large family with homemade meals and natural remedies (something which Linda clearly remembers and is in awe of to this day) and whose influence on Linda and her chosen path is clear to me. At Breath Babe, Linda provides her clients with a range of services aimed at reconnecting us to our ‘inner flame’ by leveraging natural processes and remedies. Her Emotion Code program allows her to tap into the body without the verbal conversation. By speaking directly to our bodies, she can tap into our subconscious minds and get at the root of illness more quickly. She describes it in detail … mind blowing! Anne Ryan has a consistent track record of betting on herself. Driven and ambitious from a young age, she started her career in the male-dominated construction industry in the 90’s ... not an easy place to work! As an employee, she noticed consultants were making more money and working half the time ... so she quit; began marketing herself as a contractor and doubled her income literally overnight. Thus began her entrepreneurial journey which has been exciting and lucrative and certainly not without its challenges. Anne shares how she worked herself almost to the point of breakdown when her kids were young and she knew something had to change. She also recounts how she and her husband took out a $300k loan to start a business at a time when neither of them had a income. This decision wasn’t even difficult because she has always known that backing herself 100% is the right move. When it comes to investing in her own potential, Anne Ryan is All In. Having built a thriving business with her husband, Anne once again felt the pull to move in another direction. And once again, she never questioned her worthiness to receive or her ability to execute on her desires. As a Business and Money Coach for female entrepreneurs, she coaches women to move from The Predictable: you go to a job, you get paid; fly past The Possible: the pay raise you might get; and get comfortable in The Potential: the kind of work where you make money while you sleep. She does this by teaching everyday women how to create and sell high ticket offers with ease by claiming their worth and ditching their money blocks. I remember the first time I caught sight of Reena Ruparelia, on our weekly coaching calls with Catherine Farquharson and her program Thinking Into Results. I paused and thought … who is this woman? She was such a light there, in the box of faces on our group Zoom call. Instantly, I knew I wanted to get to know her. So it’s a real treat to have her on She. INSPIRED. I believe you’ll understand what I mean as you listen to our conversation. Reena shares her story of overcoming a debilitating skin condition called psoriasis (a condition with which she continues to live but which no longer controls her life, her choices and what she believes is possible for herself) with such vulnerability, authenticity and power; it’s truly inspiring. We also talk about the limiting beliefs she’s managed to flip through her journey toward self-love and acceptance and the role her inner guidance has played through it all; nudging her forward each time things get hard and teaching her to let go of needing to see the whole picture and just take the next step. If Kim-Adele Platts were to write her memoirs, the title would be: 3 Divorces And A Stalker: The Journey From Hairdresser To CEO Can Be Bumpy. When she says she’s had “a colourful life apprenticeship” she isn’t kidding. Her life experiences have been nothing short of incredible. Through her journey transitioning from the hair salon to the boardroom, she’s become an expert at unearthing, examining and flipping limiting beliefs. For example, she’s had a MENSA certificate sitting in a box for most of her adult life because, as she puts it, “it didn’t align with her story” of who she believed herself to be … (fortunately that certificate is now framed and on her wall!) Kim-Adele knows imposter syndrome like the back of her hand. She also knows how to use kindness, compassion and visualization to release it and thrive. It’s no surprise then, she’s found her calling as a Legacy Leadership Coach working with C-Suite and Board leaders to lead with kindness, courage, humanity. Kim-Adele talks openly and gracefully about her colourful life, including both the experiences which brought her to her knees and those which lifted her back to her feet. I love how she describes life as a jig-saw puzzle without the box: you don’t get to see the whole picture, she says, you just have to keep looking at the pieces and surrender to the knowing that your journey is perfect, you have everything you need and you are worthy just as you are. Gabrielle Cardona is a force. Her ability to identify, understand and leverage the difference inherent in each of us makes her a unique individual and a powerful champion of people. As a Relationship & Communication Coach, Gabrielle helps people reach their goals by taking the path of least resistance. She is called to help people understand and appreciate who they are, so they can have better relationships and get better results. From a young age, Gabrielle knew she was different AND, that this difference made her powerful. This is one of the things I find most fascinating about her: the clarity with which she understands herself and others. Because she judges nothing, possibility can flourish. As a result, she has access to outcomes many of us don’t - unless we decide to work with her. Married at the tender age of 18, she didn’t find her calling professionally until she was 30 with the launch of her coaching business. From there she has continued to evolve into a writer, a speaker and a live radio show host. In our conversation she reveals what her journey has looked like in following the path to her inspiration and she tells us more about the work she does helping people understand themselves better and ultimately embrace their own power.
