In Emily's own words:"After years of living and working in 4 different countries, several immigrations and changes in my professional directions I realized that I would like to create a new life chapter full of passion, health, and purpose. I created International Lifestyle Consulting company, which is helping people to find the destination, create a personal plan, and customized solution for the best place for life, work, and retirement overseas based on customer budget, personal preferences, desired lifestyle. "Personally, I have lived in 5 countries, but all locations were work related. I still think about spending 3 - 4 months living in another country and knowing how fulfilling, educational and exciting it would be. Thailand, Costa Rica, Spain and Portugal come to mind, but everyone has their own opinions. For Americans, you would be amazed at the number of people who take the plunge each year of which the reasons are numerous. Some move to countries close-by, within a few hours plane ride, while others relocated to places far away.Maybe do it for a month or two, but it will be an experience you will never forget.Emily will provide the knowledge, advice and re-assurance you need, so if you have considered a move, then it may be a great time to do it.Find her here:www.emilybron.comwww.facebook.com/InternationalLifestyleConsultingEmilyBronwww.instagram.com/ebron_international_consulting/www.twitter.com/BelayevEmiliawww.linkedin.com/in/emily-belayev-bron/
“I'm so far away from the life I was supposed to have.” Just one of the beautiful and profound statements Emily Getz makes in our open and frank conversations about her experience moving through secondary pregnancy loss and infertility. She stopped me in my tracks with this statement because I believe it's a familiar refrain for so many of us (whether consciously or unconsciously); this belief that we should be somewhere other than right where we are. In Emily's case, this idea she was missing out on the life she was supposed to have related to building her family. But of course, we can think this way about other aspect of our lives too, like our work, social or financial status, the quality of our relationships, or even our spiritual development. And when this belief is active within us, it can really suck all the fun and enjoyment out of the here and now, as Emily so beautifully illustrates through a story about her son Ryder. We cover a lot of ground in this episode, but the overarching message is the need to let go of the life you thought you were supposed to have so you can have (and enjoy) the life meant for you. Letting go of beliefs, thoughts and things that aren't true to who we are, is essentially what healing allows us to do. And when we are willing to move through this painful and often scary process of healing, what awaits us on the other side is often unexpected (but super cool!) and always in alignment with the truth of who we are. For Emily, one of those unexpected outcomes is the creation of her new podcast. Day 1 aims to normalize the experience of pregnancy loss and infertility - particularly here in Canada where for the most part, the conversation has yet to penetrate the mainstream - through interviews with experts and people with lived experience of infertility. By carving out space for these important conversations, Emily hopes to create an amazing, positive loop: a better educated public who can respond more effectively to people experiencing infertility, who will then feel more understood by the people around them and be more likely to share their experience which will continue to educate the public ... An amazing positive loop, indeed. To connect with Emily directly and subscribe to her podcast, follow her on Instagram @_day1podcast. I reached Emily at her home in Toronto.
The Case: Emily is dealing with hair loss, sluggishness and constipation. Emily tried changing her diet and taking adrenal supplements but not much changed. Lab results confirm her suspicion that her thyroid is slow (even though the numbers are technically in range). Emily’s numbers come up right on the edge of optimal so I knew that we needed to dig a bit deeper to find out what else was playing a role in her health mystery. The Investigation Emily went to see her primary care doctor and asked her to run all the thyroid markers. The doctor was actually very open and ran everything she requested including TSH, total and free t4, total and free t3, reverse t3 and thyroid antibodies. Her doctor reported that everything was within range, but as a fan of the show, Emily knew that ‘in range’ doesn’t mean optimal. My first instinct here was to run a hair test, and get to the bottom of the hair loss, sluggishness and constipation. Top Thyroid Expert I asked my friend and colleague Dr. Michael Biamante to come back on the show to talk about thyroid, since he is the New York City Thyroid Doctor. We have often spoken about the connection between people taking synthetic thyroid supplements and still reporting that they don’t feel quite right. Factors that Affect the Thyroid There are many things that can affect the performance of your thyroid, and it’s important to consider them all when trying to solve a health mystery involving the thyroid or symptoms likely related to thyroid issues. Here’s a quick reference: Kidneys: Regulate potassium levels in the body. Adrenal Cortex: Produces corticosteroids and glucose, aids in retention of potassium in your cells. Sodium: Low thyroid hormone can cause a low tissue sodium level. Potassium: Facilitates proper nerve and muscle function. Zinc & Magnesium: Both encourage potassium storage in the cells which is important for conversion of T3. Copper: Blocks potassium which can impact T3 conversion. Hair Test for Calcium & Potassium A hair analysis test allows us to analyze the tissue levels for each of the minerals. By looking at a hair analysis test, we can accurately determine the levels of calcium, potassium and other minerals, as well as how they relate or connect to each other. Why do these mineral levels matter? Guyton’s book on physiology explains that calcium acts as a governor or antagonist to the thyroid hormone, and that potassium is a synergist. This means that if the body is too high in calcium, or too low in potassium, the thyroid will likely be affected. Calcium and potassium serve as thyroid regulators so their levels in the tissues can impact thyroid performance. What is the Ideal Ratio of Calcium to Potassium? 4 parts calcium to 1 part potassium is the ideal ratio for the body to have. It’s important to note when looking at any of the minerals, that the relativity and connection between them is key. There’s a lot more to potassium than simply eating a banana, so please make sure you consult your practitioner on this one. Mystery Solved If you listen to this show, then you know that thyroid issues can be complex. In Emily’s case, her levels were not out of range enough to warrant medication but were certainly not optimal. In addition to her blood work, I ran a hair test and saw very high calcium levels, low sodium and potassium along with slightly elevated copper paired (unsurprisingly) with low zinc. The high calcium levels with low sodium and potassium are indicative of overall weakened adrenals and thyroid. In Emily’s case, the high amount of copper was antagonizing her zinc which also made sense. Zinc is a needed mineral for converting thyroid hormone T4 into T3. Next Steps In addition to lifestyle and mindfulness practices as well as a balanced whole food diet, I put Emily on Thyroxal from Apex to help support the thyroid overall. We also added in Betaine HCL as low sodium levels in the hair are often indicative of low stomach acid. We used B Supreme to get her the needed B vitamins. Looking at the high calcium, we saw a very off balanced ratio of calcium to magnesium and based on her results, I put her on 600 mg of Magnesium Glycinate. This is a fairly high dose but her calcium to magnesium ratio was almost at 18 when it should be around 7. Since she had issues with constipation, I knew the magnesium could be very helpful for that as well. Happy Ending After 2 months on this protocol, Emily’s bowels were moving and her energy was slightly improved. We added 60 mg of Zinc, which is a higher dose but was only used short term to help push out the excess copper. She also began on Adrenal Cortex to help support her adrenal system. 4 months after beginning the protocol, Emily’s energy was much better, and bowels were moving every day. She even raved about her skin and hair glowing, and she experienced less hair loss. We retested her thyroid blood work, and her levels were now in the optimal ranges! Eliminating Health Mysteries For Emily, we were able to find that missing piece of the health puzzle and help her regain her health. Ganz normale Leute also. In „Emily in Paris“ geht es um charmant überzogene Klischees, schöne Menschen, ein extrem sauberes, pittoreskes Paris und das übergossen mit French-Pop-Soundtrack. Endlich mal wieder hemmungsloses Guilty- Pleasure-Fernsehen, das gar nicht versucht, mehr als genau das zu sein! „Emily in Paris“ ist Monas und Marcels absolute gute Laune-Serie für diese launischen Herbsttage.

Sometimes our fears can also be our biggest motivators. In Emily’s case she is focused and motivated to achieve a giant goal — to qualify and compete in the Olympics for running. In order to achieve this goal Emily needs to stay focused and motivated to train hard every day. But there is a fear that can creep into your mind… the “what if’s” … what if I don’t make it? These doubts can paralyze you and bring you down… or they can become your fuel and make you train harder. I will be rooting for Emily in the upcoming Olympic trails! Are you a woman with a big idea who is ready to take action? Maybe you need some support and accountability? My Fall Mastermind was created for YOU! Learn more about this magical group of women and apply today at www.kellycovert.com/mastermind. Here are some of the big topics we talked about: A radiant woman has an energy that shines from her soul that magnetizes every person, experience and opportunity that steps into her life Emily notes that a woman on the cover of a magazine but with a dullness to her is a strong contrast to a woman who’s not traditionally beautiful but glowing with radiance If you see radiance in someone else it’s in you Notice if you’ve agreed to information or thoughts that cover over your radiance Adopt a supportive belief system that allows you to nurture our radiance Lives that don’t feel as good as they look may have creativity blocked from flowing Creativity is an energy part of being human; nothing in the natural world is perfect and you don’t have to be perfect either Perfection programming - “slay it or don’t do it at all” - totally depletes radiance When one finds her way out of this maze, it becomes her dharma to help others out Take radical personal responsibility for your every single moment of your life Find the gift, vibrate in gratitude, neutralize the situation, move on! Creativity and inspiration are a gateway to the present moment When you’re in gratitude for your life, you trust that things are working out Emily notes a difference between qualities: Let go of efforting, being serious, having a “problem mentality,” exhausting yourself, feeling like you punish yourself, living in competition - masculine qualities that harden us as women Intend to have more softening feminine energies: amusement, ease, collaboration, permission, rejuvenation, light-heartedness, playfulness Being vulnerable about the journey despite being in front of such a large audience is how Emily is staying on a path of growth She loves the community of sisterhood, women by her side that are real - they share ups and downs of life together In Emily’s Voice: “Gifts are usually a shift in perspective, a recognition, a moment of clarity that leads to greater compassion for yourself, then that translates to greater compassion for others” “It will never be enough until we feel like we’re enough.” “Saving yourself is far sweeter than anybody else - being sovereign is a feeling like no other.” “In moments of inspiration, we feel connected to who we are, why we’re here. Turn regrets of the past into gratitude - they were steps in getting you where you are now. They prevent future tripping because you’re connected to the present moment, which creates future.” “You know you’re radiant when love is pouring out of you, you just want to be super friendly, compelled to compliment, flirt for no reason.” “We should be vibrating 5x higher than men, we drop our vibration in order to get that approval from the people in charge.” Connect with Emily: Website link for In Her Voice listeners Instagram Facebook

On AsK Win today (Tuesday, February 6, 2018), Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes Emily Hightower. Emily created Ondalu to give you power over your health and well being. Emily’s background in yoga, real food nutrition, and outdoor guiding inform her belief that you have your own unique answers for how to best live your life and that when given the right tools you tap into those answers and shine. Emily’s journey as a Mind Body Medic started on rivers in the early-90's. As a river guide, Emily learned how to facilitate groups and interpret the power of nature to people of all backgrounds. This grew into a position training guides to be naturalist educators around the country with the Headwaters Institute. When the rivers were dry, Emily was a mountain medic in Aspen each winter. Emily learned how to help people dealing with acute trauma, and became fascinated with anatomy and healing. Emily’s first yoga mentor was an Iyengar and Somatic Movement expert, Paige Robinson who brought her the soul of this practice in my teens. Emily found Deborah Koehn of Yoga Adventure for her formal training in 2003. Emily worked closely with her to learn how to apply yoga's healing systems to specific needs. In Emily’s practice since, she have become a specialist in therapeutic and flow yoga, adaptive yoga, and pranayama breathwork coaching. In 2012 Emily pursued a degree from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and instantly saw how yoga could support healing food behavior issues. As a holistic nutrition coach, Emily have worked with people to heal addictive behavior and infuse yoga's philosophy and mat-practices to heal from within. Holistic nutrition and yoga each share an overall philosophy that you are unique, and that you part of a natural world that connects you to all of life. Emily love connecting the dots between yoga's light, our food, our communities, and the systems like wild rivers and healthy soils that keep the whole planet humming with life. Our health and wellness depend on returning to this wholeness mindset; something Emily is always working towards in my own life. To learn more about Emily visit http://www.ondalu.com. Emily Massey began writing short stories and poetry as a little girl, entered the blogging world in her early 20’s, and published her first book, Yielded in His Hands (eLectio Publishing) in 2015. After tirelessly trying to pursue a career as an actress, God intervened, changed her heart, and redirected her steps back to her passion for writing. She now enjoys freelance writing, while being a stay-at-home momma. She and her husband have served in many areas of ministry leadership over the years, including worship ministry, prayer ministry, drama ministry, children’s ministry, and student ministry. She loves to encourage others in their walk of faith through her writing ministry, as well as through leading women's Bible studies. Believing she has been forgiven of much, Emily loves much, and desires to point others to Jesus and His redemptive and transforming power! Testimony (2:42) Emily shares how her testimony has been a work in progress. As a child she knew of God but didn't have a personal relationship with him. During high school she attended a youth conference which was the first time she ever heard the gospel message. As her heart began racing she knew she needed to respond and found herself running up to the altar. Emily says she struggled with perfectionism her whole life which shaped her wrong view of God. She wasn't discipled and eventually the shame and guilt of promiscuity kept her from relationship with the Lord. Then one day after college graduation she and her mom decided to visit a church when she felt God welcoming her back home; changing the trajectory of her life. Washed Clean (16:10) Emily shares how if you feel unclean by current or past sin it's actually a good thing because that means Holy Spirit is bringing conviction. At that moment you have the opportunity to turn it over to God or stay trapped. That's why the Bible is so important, to remind ourselves of who we are in God. Boldness In Christ (22:27) Boldness is a work of God. We are called to be vessels for his glory. When we are yielded to him we can incline our ear to Holy Spirit. The results of stepping out and sharing about God is only a work of the Lord. It's not up to us what the result of stepping out in faith is. A Year of Restoration (28:07) Emily talks about her perspective of God was initially shaped by her broken relationship with her dad who struggled with alcoholism and sexual sin. Since she didn't have a strong relationship with him she sort of watched from the sidelines. Her father eventually got in with the wrong crowd and was shot, his body dragged across an abandoned building which was eventually set on fire. The only reason he was identified was because of metal plates he had in his body from a previous drunk driving accident. She had a choice to either stand on the rock of Jesus or let it ruin her. Thankfully she had people in her life who could help walk her through it. Since then she's seen beautiful restoration with her father's family. Yielded In His Hands (38:34) In Emily's book, Yielded In His Hands, she talks in great details about anxiety, fear and postpartum depression and getting to the root cause of some strange health symptoms. Get In Touch If you’d like to get in touch with Emily Massey you can reach her on Facebook or on her website.
This week's show is with Emily Nature helps smart, successful career women to have fun in dating and relationships. Whether you want to get into partnerships with ease, get through rough patches with grace, or get out of heartbreak with freedom, Emily is your gal. Under Emily's guidance, hundreds of women in the US, UK, Europe and Australia have found delicious relationships with themselves, with their bodies and with men. When Emily is not coaching, she can be found writing, dancing wildly, stalking squirrels, or contemplating on mountain tops. Emily and I talked about her experience of exploring past her boundaries and testing her edges in a relationship... and finding out what she does and doesn't want. In Emily's case the boundary was around her boyfriend's desire to experience a polyamorous relationship (ie wanting to experience sexual intimacy with more than one person) and then ultimately discovering that what she really wants is what she calls 'unconventional monogamy', however this topic of exploring our boundaries can apply to almost all of us. What you'll learn from this episode: Providing the space for yourself and your partner to explore and articulate your thoughts emotions means that you can more fully experience and benefit from what you're both feeling. That's not always easy to do and personally I found Emily's description of how she and her boyfriend did that was very inspiring. Not knowing who you really are, what you want or don't want is a powerful place to be. When we lessen our grip on our stories about how we think we should be, so much freedom and exploration can come from that place. Understanding that we're always 'OK', that we always have inner wellbeing and happiness, allows us to feel safer when we're exploring past our edges.
