In this soul-stirring episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with the inspiring Rachna Singh to explore one of the most subtle yet powerful epidemics of our time—loneliness. In a world addicted to validation and social media likes, genuine human connection is fading. Rachna shares powerful insights into how we can revive the art of authentic connection, embrace our fears as fuel, and align with our inner purpose or North Star. She also touches on the transformative power of deep listening, the importance of reconnecting with nature, and why fulfillment doesn't come from more success—but from more self-awareness.

Dr. Rachna Rekhi is a board certified pediatrician and lifestyle medicine physician. Prior to attending medical school she earned a degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida. After university, she worked as a researcher in the Cardiology Department at Stanford University. She had aspirations of becoming a cardiologist until she attended medical school at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and had a revelation that many adult diseases begin in childhood. After that she focused her energy on becoming a pediatrician in hopes of influencing families to adopt healthier habits at a young age. She has worked at Kaiser Permanente, a large healthcare system, for 13 years. During this time she recognized that children are capable of making great choices about their health if they have the proper knowledge, and they need to be a part of the conversation about their health. She believes that children have the power to influence the adults in their life to be healthier. She co-hosts a podcast called Wellness Wizards with her 9 year old son and 11 year old daughter, where they discuss, simplify, and gamify lifestyle medicine topics including primarily plant based nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, reduction of risky substances, social connectedness, and stress reduction. She loves traveling and cooking healthy food with her children. Last year the family took a year off and traveled to 19 countries together, and since then they have made it a goal to travel to all 7 continents together. Rachna Shroff, MD, is the Chief of the division of Hematology/Oncology and Associate Director for Clinical Research at the University of Arizona Cancer Center and the Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Research at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. She is a clinical and translational investigator focused on developing novel targeted therapies and immunotherapies for pancreatic and hepatobiliary cancers and has led multiple clinical trials including the first randomized phase 3 trial in biliary cancers in the US. An internationally recognized expert, she is one of three women to achieve the prestigious 2022 Women in Oncology Award. “You have to understand your why and then let that drive you… be open-minded and try all kinds of different activities and opportunities. It's a little bit of throwing darts at a dartboard and seeing what sticks, and then going with your gut. Ask yourself, ‘What do you want your legacy to be?' Once you understand your legacy, you can create metrics for [your] success." In this episode of The Medicine Mentors, we discuss discovering our why and creating a long-lasting legacy with Dr. Rachna Shroff. Pearls of Wisdom: 1. ‘What do you want your legacy to be?' is a different question than ‘What is your why?' Once we understand what we want our legacy to be, we can start creating the metrics for success. 2. It's essential to have the right people on board and maintain that network of mentors. One of the secrets to maintaining this network is to stay connected with them and keep them updated with what's going on in our lives. 3. If we can first learn how to take good care of patients, we'll identify the needs because the paramount questions come from the clinic. It will take a while, but our persistence, diligence, hard work, and patience will pay off.

Rachna Mathur of Arizona works in STEM education and educational research, currently working on a doctorate in education. She's the founder of Stemology and has worked with students K-6 in coding, Lego Robotics, and combining STEM topics with literature, teaming up with an elementary teacher for a summer camp called Books and Bots. In the past, Rachna was a software engineer/architect for 10+ years where she spent some time working from home during one of her pregnancies, but she pivoted into education by starting her own company in 2019 with clients like Khan Academy and Arizona State University (ASU). The majority of her work, as well as schooling happen online, with the exception of some monthly meetings and some speaking engagements. In this episode, Rachna talks about her and her husband have reframed their working hours and cut out some extra activities to rebalance and manage their "home operations" as a unit. As a family with two parents, they've done their best to be intentional as they're trying to figure things out with work, school, activities, personal time, health, etc. They treat their jobs and everything they do as needing to be in sync (taking on more or fewer projects based on each other's schedules), with Rachna dropping off the kids in the morning and starting her workday a little later and her husband working an earlier schedule so he can be done in time to pick up the kids from school. They have some time in the evenings together, but then she blocks time for studying after their kids are in bed. The way they've set up their home is also intentional and conducive for play and learning with a play structure in the living room and lots of tech supplies on hand for their curious kindergartener who likes to take apart old electronic devices. Rachna and her husband are continuing to work out their home office spaces with some trial and error. Still, Rachna swears by having a larger monitor which has been tremendously helpful in her educational research and writing, something her husband was able to donate from his own setup as he doesn't require more than one screen. In the end, Rachna says that sometimes it had nothing to do with tech, equipment, or any apps, but just getting out of her home space and working in a coffee shop or a quiet library is helpful for change, especially with noisy kids when they are home early or she needs to focus. If you'd like to reach out to Rachna to discuss teaching artificial intelligence (AI) topics or STEM and Stories, such as how to incorporate STEM learning into literature studies in an elementary classroom, you can find Rachna in the following places: Email: rachna @ stemology.club Website: http://www.rachnamathur.com/ (www.rachnamathur.com) Twitter: @STEMologyClub
In this Living in Not-Knowing podcast with Jenny Beal, Rachna Chowla describes her spiritual journey from a traditional Vedanta school, via the Buddhist tradition of the Dalai Lama and the poetry of Rumi, to arrive at the Direct Path teaching of Rupert Spira and Francis Lucille. It was through this teaching that she discovered how love and beauty can become an integral part of our spiritual life. She goes on to discuss how the non-dual understanding has influenced both her practical life as a doctor and her creative life as a poet, and the changes that have occurred in her approach to difficult circumstances. She describes the ever-growing joy and freedom of being open to all that arises. Finally, she reads one of her poems that depicts the way creativity manifests spontaneously and effortlessly when she rests in not-knowing.Learn more about the The Awareness Podcast and access show notes for every episode at: www.teachersofgod.org/podcastLearn more about The Teachers of God Foundation at: www.teachersofgod.org Original music by Omashar

In today's episode we talk with Rachna Dayal Goel, Global Director Transforming Customer Experience from Johnson & Johnson. Introduction You are in a big organization. How do still stay engaged with startups and the entrepreneurial world? What advice would you have for startups wanting to work with big companies in healthcare industry What are some industry specific points that you want entrepreneurs to keep in mind as they develop innovations and startups in this area? Global Health Impact Fund (GHIF) is a Strategic Venture Capital Investment Network. Our investor-focused model invests exclusively on behalf of our clinician and healthcare professional investor network. We provide an opportunity for these professionals to participate in a diversified portfolio of early-stage healthcare technology companies. These businesses are revolutionizing the healthcare industry, but the vast majority of clinical professionals are simply observers to changes that will upset their practices and worldview. GHIF offers a potent alternative to that scenario. GHIF investors will directly help shape the technological cutting edge as executive advisors to the Fund. We care not just for your investment, but also for your opinions and participation. Our typical prospective investment will be seeking between $250K and $2M in capital. For businesses looking for more than $2M in the capital, we have the flexibility to co-invest alongside other strategic venture partners who meet our standards for commitment to healthcare improvement. We would love to know what you took away from this conversation with Martyn and Rachna! Follow @martyneeles and give your insight and questions using the hashtag #GHIF.
