BOLD BIBLICAL WOMANHOOD. Soli Deo Gloria. CHRIST over CULTURE. OBEDIENCE over FEELINGS.
This is episode 9 of my LIVE OUT THE WORD OF GOD youtube series. I thought I'd share it on my podcast channels as well. :) As Christian Mamas, how should we speak to our children? Let's chat!
Should Christians go see The Barbie movie? Let's chat.
SEASON 4 kickoff!!! COLOSSIANS 4:12 Do we wrestle in our prayers for our brothers and sisters in Christ that they may stand firm in Holiness and their assurance of GOD's will? Are we living that way ourselves?
I dont even want to call this a "special" episode because there's nothing special about adultery. However, after receiving more emails in the last 3 months from Christian women who are in affair "relationships", I thought it would be a good thing to talk about this, just in case there are others who need to be reminded of how serious this sin is. Please know that my intention is to encourage you to obey the Lord above all else. I love you dear sisters. CHRIST OVER CULTURE. OBEDIENCE OVER FEELINGS.
Stepping away from online ministry to focus on *in person* ministry. I will miss you ladies VERY MUCH but know we're pressing on towards eternity, where we will worship CHRIST FOREVER, together! I wanted to say goodbye. I love you but more importantly I love Jesus and thank Him for the opportunity I was given with this podcast and online ministry. SOLI DEO GLORIA.
We are commanded to be a light to everyone so that God would get glory. Are we hiding our light under the basket of fear, worries, doubts? OR are we shining brightly - exposing the darkness? How do we handle being afraid of people's hatred towards the Gospel and us as Christians? Let's talk about it. KEY VERSES: 1 Thessalonians 1 and Matthew 5:6
In this episode, we camp in Genesis 2 and 3; discussing satan's temptation of Eve and then her choices. What are things we can take from this historical, true, narrative? What can we learn, as women in Christ, that we NEED: NEED to be doing, learning, sharing, etc.? HOW SERIOUS SHOULD WE BE TAKING THE POSSIBILITY OF SIN? We also go into Romans, Matthew, Proverbs, and Peter, and Ephesians. LET'S CHAT.
How do we handle, being new women in Christ, the memories of our past sins? We're going to be in 1 Corinthians, Romans, and Ephesians. Does God justify us and then leave us with the weight of our painful memories - of our sinfulness - or does He have a different plan for our pasts? A plan that points right back to HIS GOODNESS? Let's chat.
We can minimize our homes and declutter our lives but there are REALLY important things a Christian woman should be "throwing out" and it's not all related to items that take up storage. We'll be flipping throughout the Word, so please have your Bibles ready. What is our primary focus as Christian women and what should we do about all the things that distract us from that purpose? Let's chat!
In this episode, we discuss the seriousness of sin in a believer. Though we are JUSTIFIED, we are continually being SANCTIFIED. Sin cannot REIGN in our bodies - continually sinning and we will talk about why, what the BIble clearly says, and the deceptions that some professing Christians would have you believe. I pray you are sharpened, as I have been by the work of the Spirit, to take ALL sin SERIOUSLY - knowing that we are NEW CREATIONS in Christ and there WILL be evidences of that by the fruit we produce. Our key passage is Romans 6.7. And the verse I couldn't remember in Hebrews was Hebrews 10:31. ;) MAY GOD OFFEND OUR FLESH DAILY WITH HIS TRUTH AND WITH THIS GRACE. Soli Deo Gloria.
Let's talk about what GOSSIP really is...Biblically of course. Who are you representing when you gossip: listening and giving it? Some key Scriptures we'll be looking at: Zechariah 3:1-7, Philippians 4, Ephesians 4,5, Romans 1, Matthew 12 and Matthew 18.
1 PETER 3 speaks to the UNFADING BEAUTY of a Gentle and Quiet Spirit. What does this really look like for a woman in Christ and what is it that he encourages us NOT to fear? Let's chat!
We camp in Philippians 4 and really discuss what we deserve and why we are so audacious to believe God owes us anything but His Holy and just wrath.... How can we be content? How can we be joyful no matter the circumstances? IS JESUS ENOUGH? Let's chat!
"For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." - Hebrews 12:11 LOTS is discussed in this episode but all under the umbrella of us, as women in Christ, being TRAINED...for what? Well...to produce righteousness and ... to die. Let's chat.
A harder episode to tackle. Please know I came into this trying to be extremely sensitive to hurt and pain, also knowing everything has to come under the submission of the Word of God and what He commands. Let's talk about FORGIVENESS.
The real question here is: Do we truly follow Christ or do we follow what our culture, our society, our world says is normal, right, and should be practiced? As for me, I am done! My prayer is that the Lord would continue to empty me completely of myself and fill me with HIM - I want to be so like Him that the world either hates me or turns to Christ.
Are you fearful to share the Gospel? Listen into my interview with Dale Partridge as he shares about "MAIL THE GOSPEL" >> a new way to evangelize. This is so exciting ladies. Tune in and check out mailthegospel.org
It sounds funny to say but I am extremely anxious about this episode and opening up my life on this topic but I am trusting the Lord through it. I have covered it in prayer and I pray that with this - God will be glorified and my sisters in Christ will be encouraged to look to Jesus in all things - specifically in the episode, with any fear, worry, or anxiety they may have. *Relistening to this back, I said it was at age 34,35 where I sought help and that's not true. This mistake was due to nerves, I think, because it was 4-5 years ago this happened and Im 36 now. So I apologize for that, I was really really nervous to record this episode and I think the nerves jumbled my brain a bit. I make it clear elsewhere in the podcast about the timeline but I just wanted to write a note about this mistake, in case someone was wondering. :)
Starting with a kind of apology, I share my heart on the conviction of my lack of Joy and where God has brought me to now....listen in.
I struggled with this episode after posting a graphic about it and then receiving some unkind feedback. I share a little about it in the episode but I want to also say that I was hoping God would give me this profound message for myself and you all - and I felt like this episode just fell flat. However, I realized afterwards that I was focusing on "being right", after receiving pushback comments about the episode's subject, more than conveying an encouraging message of being mothers having their priorities right before God. I pray you'll be encouraged though and that God will be glorified through the principle being discussed.
Is self-care Biblical? Let's talk about it.
So often you'll see women's ministries focus on "stepping into our true calling." But what is that calling? Is it pursuing our dreams: health, wealth, fame, and popularity? Or does God say something completely different than that in His Word? Who and what are we called to be when we're in Christ? Let's talk about it.
Jacob and I have been married for over 14 years. 2+ years ago, I was introduced to Reformed Theology after growing up and being committed to "the Restoration Movement" (Church of Christ). My theology was RADICALLY changed, while my husband's wasnt. How do we handle this within our marriage and honor the Lord in our disagreements? Tune in.
Our flesh is waging war with the Spirit. "She", our flesh, should be given ZERO footholds to do exactly what she wants to do....sin.
Once we are Justified in Christ, we PRACTICE Holiness until we are glorified with Him in eternity. DISCIPLINE AND SELF-CONTROL are things we must continually practice. Practice, not to be perfect in this life but to grow in Holiness as we look forward to PERFECTION in HEAVEN with Christ. When we choose to say YES to the flesh, we are waging war against the Spirit. We need to grow in self-control and in telling our flesh "NO!" Let's talk about it.
"I am resolved to do nothing in my life that I would not do in the last hour of my life." - Jonathan Edwards. Let's talk about this.
Sloths, as much as I hate them in real life (yes, I do lol) is nothing as horrible as the sin of being slothful. As women in Christ, we are commanded to work hard unto the Lord. We have responsibilities and need to be fighting the sins of laziness. Let's talk about it.
Let's chat more about FOOD-IDOLS. How is it that unbelievers can show more discipline in these areas than those of us who have the Holy Spirit? How we can continue to grow in sanctification: saying no to the flesh in these areas and yes to glorifying Christ through our health/food choices.
In this episode we're going to talk about how drama, conflict, being "busy bodies" distracts us from our purpose as women of God.
How often do we cling to worthless idols and then when trials hit, we run back to God and seek His help? Our hearts are divided. In this episode I talk about idols, sin, and even good things that keep us from worshipping the Lord fully and solely. "GIVE US AN UNDIVIDED HEART, LORD...."
My wonderful husband Jacob joins me on the podcast to give his thoughts and perspective of our marriage restoration: after years of pain and hardships, sin and trials. We had a lot of fun making this episode. I cried, of course but there's lots of laughs. We pray it encourages you and mostly that it points you to turn to Christ in all areas of your life.
In this episode we talk about the SIMPLICITIES of being in Christ and how the world do easily can distract us with it's glitter and comforts from what REALLY matters.
This episode is specifically speaking to (WARNING) Christian women who are committing sexual sins. May the Word of God convict your heart and lead you to repentance: a turning away from your sins and into righteousness.
In this episode, we go to Genesis and then to Luke, Jesus warns us to "REMEMBER LOT'S WIFE!" Remember what? Well, let's talk about it.
Let's talk about Rebekah in the Bible. She was a Godly woman who took matters into her own hands, instead of trusting God's promise. How did this turn out for her? How does it turn out for us when we do it?
This is the audio from the youtube video that I made with Pastor Zachary Costello. We discuss ASSURANCE OF SALVATION. You can watch the video on Youtube: WITH LOVE JILLIAN.
Should a Christian be listening or watching "True Crime" (fiction/reality)??? Let's talk about it.
Should Christians be listening to Secular Music? Is all Christian music ok? Let's chat about it! Have your Bibles ready to go!
Let's go through the wisdom of being Quiet: in regular conversations, in conflict, in being corrected, and in our homes (as wives and mamas.)
We cannot be women of THE WORD if we are not women of OUR word. Let's talk about it and I pray you'll be open to receive a heartfelt apology on my behalf. - Jillian
Sweet sisters, it can be so tempting to enter into a new year and make resolutions and goals of being a better YOU! But let us throw off this worldly thinking and lean into the TRUTH.
In the season finale of season 2, I cry and laugh discussing feelings over obedience and what God actually commands of us. God-willing, season 3 will begin in 2022.
In this episode, we're going to talk about the character of the Proverbs 31 woman. She wasn't a hard working woman because she didn't have access to Target or Amazon, the way we have, and so she was forced to work hard. No - She was a wife of noble CHARACTER and we can be too - regardless of lack of convenience or with full access to riches and services. Let's dig in.
Using Joshua 7 as our main text, I go into the topic of "devoted things": things that are set-apart for only God's use and purpose, His Glory and the sins we hide (like Achan) that were devoted for destruction. This is a more fiery episode and I pray you are sharpened by God's Word.
No Little Ears Please. You asked - I answered. This episode is all about sex within the protection and righteousness of a MARRIAGE. Some questions asked were a little more graphic in nature and so please, use discernment while listening. No children allowed.
In this episode, I talk about the wisdom of rising early and how getting up at 5am (3 hours before my family) has really impacted us for the better.
In this episode, we go through the very romantic and dramatic Bible story of Leah, Rachel, and Jacob. Leah is described as the uglier sister and definitely was treated less worthy than her younger and more beautiful sister Rachel. If you were labeled "UGLY" or "UNATTRACTIVE" what would it mean for you? Ladies, our vanity is such a distraction to the real purposes of our lives : JESUS AND THE GOSPEL. Let's chat!
This episode's foundation is Matthew 5, where Jesus tells us to pluck out our eye if it cause us to sin (not literally). But He doesn't stop there...He tells us to do something with it. Let's chat about removing sin from our lives and an example of someone who didn't and literally lost his eye sight. This is "the creepy episode..." Listen to find out why.
In this episode we talk about God's very serious response to idols in our lives and how idols always have roots of PRIDE. We will go more into Vanity and how this was a huge part in the fall of satan and what we need to do with Vanity, Idols, and the sin of PRIDE as women who are born again in Jesus Christ. I also share how I didn't fit into the airplane seat when recently traveling and how this plays into my conviction over the sin of Vanity.
In this episode, I compare the evil Queen Jezebel with the Proverbs 31 woman. PRIDE AND VANITY are destructive in ourselves, our marriages, our mothering, and our entire lives. DO WE HAVE CHARACTERISTICS OF JEZEBEL? Let's talk about her and what her sins were and if we are guilty of any of them in ourselves.
