Building on Jesus' warning in Matthew 24 that no one knows the day or the hour, he gives two reasons to live with joyful anticipation: it motivates holy living, and it recalibrates how we see our lives and the world around us. He then explores the Parable of the Ten Virgins, explaining the stages of a Jewish wedding and how they picture Christ's return, and teaching that it's possible to look ready without actually being ready. Next, through the Parable of the Talents, Karl offers five practical observations about stewardship before making the deeper point that the most precious thing entrusted to us is the gospel itself. One of the most avoided yet most important questions anyone can ask is whether they're truly saved. Many people identify as Christians while living in ways that contradict that claim — and in a culture where biblical truth feels increasingly negotiable, honest self-examination matters more than ever. God didn't send His Son to the cross so His children would spend their lives wondering where they stand. According to 1 John 5:13, He wants believers to know they have eternal life — not merely hope for it.Genuine salvation isn't built on church attendance, moral living, or religious activity. It's built on personal faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself warned that many who called Him Lord would be turned away, because He never knew them. True salvation produces transformation, unashamed conviction, and a life oriented around pleasing God rather than people. The story of the prodigal son reminds us that even when believers wander, the Father never revokes their identity — and John 10 and Romans 8 both confirm that nothing in all creation can separate a believer from His love or remove them from His hand.Struggling with sin after salvation isn't evidence of a lost faith — it's often evidence that the Holy Spirit is at work, bringing light into areas that were once hidden. Just like turning on a light in a dark room reveals the mess rather than creating it, Christ's presence reveals imperfection and produces a growing hunger for holiness. The goal of the Christian life was never perfection — it's faithfulness. Living for an audience of One, and pursuing the words well done from King Jesus above all else.

In Jude's closing benediction, we're given one of the most stabilizing promises in all of Scripture: God is able to keep you from stumbling (Jude 1:24). We can know that our sins are taken away and that we will be safe in the judgment, if we trust Christ in such a way that it makes us eager for his coming.

We sing about the blood of Jesus. We remember it in communion. But do you know its power? Why do New Testament greetings consistently begin with grace and then peace? What does it really mean to be “fallen away from grace”? In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef clarifies Paul's warning in Galatians 5:4—a passage often misunderstood as teaching that salvation can be lost. Dr. Youssef explains that Paul is addressing believers who are tempted to enslave themselves again to the law—trusting external rules, rituals, or church dogma as though grace needs help to get us to heaven. “Good works” are the backbone of every man-made religion—systems built on striving, earning, and self-improvement. It's part of human nature to perform—for God, for ourselves, and for others.
