These interview style episodes are all about the way we as people view life, the things we love and the things that cause us pain, the way we think, hope, and fear. We each hold a unique place in this world, complete with our own dreams, culture, and perspective. It is the individual stories of those I meet along my journey that shape the way I see the world. I’m excited to share these stories with you and hope they allow you to fall in love with humanity as they have for me.
The Your Fellow Human podcast is definitely one of my favorites. As a listener, I thoroughly enjoy hearing other people's stories, experiences, views, and perspectives. There is immense value in sharing our struggles and helping others connect through our shared human experiences. What sets this podcast apart is how it also highlights the differences between individuals, challenging listeners to grow and expand their understanding of others. Each episode offers something new to learn and opens up opportunities for personal growth.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the way Lianna brings people in to foster human connection. Her skill in creating a comfortable space for guests to share their thoughts and experiences is simply incredible. Through her thoughtful questions and genuine curiosity, she manages to draw out meaningful insights from her guests, leading to engaging and enlightening conversations.
Another aspect that I appreciate about The Your Fellow Human podcast is the clarity of audio production. The quality of both Lianna's voice and her guests' voices is top-notch, making it easy for listeners to fully immerse themselves in the discussions without any distractions.
I would love to see more recurring guests on the show, such as Silas who was featured in one episode. His outlook on life was refreshing, focusing on quality relationships rather than materialism or cheap thrills. Bringing back guests like Silas could allow for deeper exploration of their perspectives over time.
In conclusion, I highly recommend The Your Fellow Human podcast to anyone seeking a shift in perspective or simply wanting to hear fascinating stories from around the world. Lianna's ability to interview interesting individuals combined with her welcoming demeanor creates an inviting atmosphere that encourages personal growth and enjoyment for every listener. Give it a listen; you won't be disappointed!
Have you ever felt like life is happening to you and not for you?Today I want to introduce you to Elona, this is actually the first in person conversation I got to have with this sweet soul and I am truly grateful that life continues to bring people like this into mineElona is one that chooses to use her life, her experience, and all that has existed in her life, to hold space for others and demonstrate the value of humanityShe shares how loss at a young age, and having to face her own mortality pointed her to growing in knowing, and loving who she is inside and out. How mental peace creates clarity, how clarity allows for compassion, and how we can be afraid of something and embrace it at the same time We chat about how confidence and desperation can coexist within us, how time can heal all, but only if we do the work in that time, and how we can often allow ourselves to believe the lie that, “if we were known” we would somehow be less worthy. She shares wisdom that speaks of times in her life no one should have had to endure, of empathy and value for humanity regardless of how it differs from her own values and experiences, and the beauty that comes when we allow ourselves to exist in the silence.I've grown a fast and deep respect for the way this human chooses to show up in the world, for the way she has chosen to use her voice and her work, for how she holds space for others, and for how she holds space to be herself. I find often we forget the value in our own peace, the impact in our own understanding, and the compassion when we are loved from a place of being known; Elona is one such human that is this and more.So tune in today and meet Elona, a human that is a living example of what it is to see value, compassion, and empathy in one who does not look like us. She is someone who gently and with understanding reminds us that if we allow ourselves to see it as so, that life happens for us not to us, and how deeply that can change life itself. And to you Elona thank you, thank you for the reminder to be our own best friend, to speak to myself the way I would speak to those I love, to press into the silence of peace in meditation, and for the absolute joy of sharing time with you. Thank you for allowing me the honor of knowing more of your story and allowing others to be impacted as I have been. You are a human choosing to leave this world with an impact of love and healing, and for that you are among what makes humanity truly full of love and beauty.
So much of where we are going is impacted by where we have been, I can't say I'm one to think I have grand advice worth listening to, but these are things I wrote down at the beginning of the year and as I read back through them recently; I wanted to share them. They are things I think I want my future self to hold on to, things I want to guide my choices, and things that are true for all of us. But let me know which one resonates with you the most?

An open letter to the presidentA lot has happened in the short weeks since you took office, I won't say I speak for all of the American people in this, but I believe we have a right to know how you would answer this question; what is it that defines an American to you? I do my very best to not discuss politics online as I find it detracts from what matters most in life, the chance to connect, value, and show love to another. But, so much has taken place, and I fear so much more yet to come, I want to share this letter on behalf of my fellow Americans and on behalf of those that feel fear, concern, and even a bit of hopelessness at what has and continues to transpire.I can't say I've seen a leader I was proud of lately in this country, but Mr. President, as the one who holds a powerful pen, I ask that you consider who it is that truly makes up what it is to be an American.I hope you tune in today, I hope if you find this helpful or want to talk that you will send me a message, and that you would know that my intention is as it always has been, to hold space for my fellow human to be seen and valued.Sincerely,Your fellow humanLianna

He shares about how life isn't always a deep purpose but that we get to be proud of how we show up and the people and animals we love. The kind of human that when he meets someone seeks to share his network with, bring into his world, and I believe, uniquely inspire them to pursue whatever it is they dream about.Chase is one in a million, but he's one that shares that no matter how unique each of us are, the beauty in knowing that there are so many others that connect with what we connect with, value what we value, and have even experienced parts of life the way we have; the reality that we are on a common journey. We chat about what it means to have a “third space” in our world today, how he has found so much purpose in creating one not only for himself, but for others to share in. He shares how a time in his life when life felt, not worth it, shifted by him taking a small savings and just letting it take him on an adventure. He shares how he is the sum of those around him, how his moral compass was guided by his friends, much to his success, and how steak is best served with a table to share it withChase is one that makes it easy to feel inspired around, hard to let yourself feel something is impossible around, and one that will remind you that; “if you do something long enough, you have to get better at it.”So tune in today and meet Chase, I promise you will walk away from this conversation feeling read to in his words “do the right thing, and create cool shit.”And to you Chase thank you, thank you for how you so genuinely have created and welcomed me into your space, how you have such a sincere joy for connection and creation, for your endless pursuit of doing what you love and inspiring others, and for the absolute joy it is to call you a friend.
What does it take to make you happy? Can you think of the last time you felt a sense of contentment or that you viewed your life with a sense of appreciation simply from watching the sunrise?Today I want to introduce you to Marco, Marco is just such a person. As a photographer and lover of times in nature, Marco is one that truly takes each moment for the joy it holds.I met Marco a few years ago in Mexico and on this past trip I got to do my scuba dive course with him; we got to learn from our friend and instructor Fonsi, and I got to see even more of who I already knew Marco to beMarco and I chat about how we can often as humans push or expect so much of ourselves, how taking things one action, or one decision at a time can so often lead to less anxiety and a chance to see where life will take usHe shares how taking small steps has led him to where he is and what he does, how he values being a friend and having space to still explore who and what he will do with lifeMarco is one that means what he says, one that values connection with others, one that will stay in touch with you no matter where you are in the world, and one that will do what he can to support those in his lifeMarco is a genuine soul and one I'm truly honored to get to share with you today To tune in and meet Marco, a human that wants to remind you to take life as it comes to “roll with the current” and appreciate the beauty in every single moment And to you Marco thank you, thank you for allowing me to share a part of your story with others, for being a source of sincerity and kindness in this world, and for being a fantastic scuba partner. Do you feel like art holds value in your life?Today I want to introduce you to Lexi, Lexi is an artist, and as much as I often say that we are not merely defined by “what we do” there is something in the heart of an artist, something in the way they see the world, in the way they see humanity, and they way the allow their own emotions to take form in what they create. In so many ways being an artist is a term that actually defines and does not contain a person so fully all at once I had the pleasure of working alongside Lexi in Mexico on a recent project of hers, both shooting BTS and modeling for her, she is an incredibly encouraging person to work with and one that truly inspires and motivates you to do your best, while all along knowing she is going to encourage you and be her kind self no matter whatLexi and I chat about what it is to pursue a passion project, why women in water has been her focus and what moments in her career have felt like the most success. She shares the fear she feels going into a big project knowing it needs to produce pieces she can use, that failure is both terrifying and beautiful all at once. Lexi uses the phrase “happy accidents” a lot, in a really sweet way, that the weather, the rain, the darkness, and the things we cannot control are all things that can lead to “happy accidents” in her art. I really love the way she views her work, the way she approaches those she works with when it comes to creating her work, and the way she feels pressure, but does not let it consume who she truly is.Lexi is one that thinks so much of what she is does, on the impact she has on those and what is around her, she feels deeply, connects wholly, and is one that I believe lives with a sense of desire for her work, but not one that places that above the value of who stands in front of her.So tune in today and meet Lexi, an artist, a determined soul, a heart full of beautiful things yet to be seen by the world. And to you Lexi thank you, thank you for letting me push you to have this conversation, for the honor of getting to work alongside you, model for you, and be encouraged by you as I pushed my own abilities as well. You are a truly lovely soul and I am grateful for the time with you. Looking forward to our next adventure together.

What makes someone worth listening to?Today I want to introduce you to Olumide, and while I could say he's worth listening to because he's an olympian, because he's experienced grief and learned how to grow through it, or because he comes from a culture that maybe you have never heard of or one that maybe your history connects to….I could say those things make him worth listening to, but they aren't…Olumide is someone that isn't chasing, not chasing the most popular person in the room, not chasing a title, but someone who is simply, human; and in our world today this is a quality that in my opinion is what makes him worth listening toWe chat about what it was like being the youngest sibling in a Nigerian family, the rich culture and the loss part of that family at a young age. We talk about what it's like to grow up and realize it's ok to not be ok, and that those that love us need us to be human not strongHe shares what realizing his dream as an Olympian felt like, where that dream started, and how the loss of his dad marked healing in what it means to not hide from what it is to feelOlumide shares so much of what has made him who he is, he shares lessons his journey has taught him that I know will not only impact you as you hear them, but in so many ways allow you to be remained, or maybe even hear for the first time, that it's ok to be you, to be proud of you, and to accept the greatness and the good that makes up who you areSo tune in today and meet Olumide, a human, and one that I am so excited to share with youAnd to you Olumide thank you, thank you for being someone who can sit in a crowd and connect with a single individual, for sharing your journey, your culture, for the way you so genuinely value the person sitting in front of you, I'm so grateful to have met you and even more to have gained a friend
What if you met a human for the first time today? No past experience, fears, or expectations, just a blank slate on what this could be?Today I want to introduce you to Malcom, I met Malcom on the train compliments of his suitcase rolling its way over to me as the train took off. There's something about interactions like this one that I feel like we all need to be reminded to take note of…Malcom is the kind of person that will smile back when you pass him no the street, the kind of person that will pause and let conversation with a stranger happen, and the kind that values connection and others enough to ask a question and make a friend I think the world would be a better place if we all took some advice from how Malcom views life. If we let ourselves see a passerby or stranger on the train as a chance to know someone…We chat about what it means to be career driven with an overriding love for the unconditional love of family, why calling his favorite meal “the burger of France” is both accurate and a little insulting, and the sense of pride in what he does and how he gets to see it impact a studentHe shares something a past employer told with him that changed how he sees and values not just his work but who he is, how the times in life that light a fire in us are exciting, filled with change, but still require action from us to bring them to fullnessWe chat about how men are layered, how spending 3 min a day on something is an almost un attainable goal that he wishes we all hit more, and what he wishes people knew about the FrenchMalcom is one that doesn't give advice lightly, one that has a sincere respect for what it means to be who we are, one that will put the work in to understand something and teach it with passion but never make someone feel less than as they learn, and one that I believe gives some of the best advice to be shared on this podcastSo tune in today and meet Malcom, a human that I believe reminds all of us to live in the reality of what our day to day interactions are, to base our judgment of self and others on what takes place in the real world, and to remember that online isn't always the most accurate place to be And to you Malcom thank you, thank you for being someone open to connection with others, someone willing to share time, allow me to get to know you, for the gentle and joy filled way you approach life, and the reminder to value those in our lives that are nothing like us. Happy to call you a friend

He is one that lives life fully as who he is, takes care of who that person is meant to be, finds joy in absolutely everting, and treats others with kindness and care in a way that allows them to be their best selves around him I had the pleasure of meeting Crispy during my time in Australia as he came on as our skipper, a skipper for anyone who doesn't know is the one who not only sails and mans the ship, but also the one who holds responsibility for all on board. This is no small task and one that he carries out with a smile and holds your trust with integrity We chat about what it's like being an adventurer, sailing the seas, free diving, FPV flying, and what it is to be a free spirit to him. He shares the fear of being stuck physically and not being able to live or experience life as fully. He shares what it's like working in “natures TV,” how he near had a panic attack his first time flying FPV, and how he's toying between sugar daddy and broke sailor pirate. He is one that values friendship, connection, and sharing experiences that cause us to see ourselves and others in a joyous light. Crispy has worked with those that have spent their last few dollars backpacking around the world and those that call super yachts their pastime, but in something that speaks so genuinely to who he is, as he shared story after story with us, the reality that how he treats each one of those people remains the same. Crispy is one that sees someone for what they need, what they will appreciate, and in a way reads others so genuine, I believe it is a talent of sincerity that allows someone to know how much of oneself others deserve to know while still holding them in a place of care; Crispy does this so well, and it was an honor to get to know who he truly isSo tune in today and meet Crispy, a self proclaimed Australian pirate, a man full of joy and wisdom, and someone who's stories I hope make others smile and appreciate who he is as much as they have for me.And to you Crispy thank you, thank you for joining our crew last minute, for being the life of the party and valuing life so deeply, thank you for the honor of letting us all see the best of you, and the beaming ray of light that you are. What is your reason for living?Today I want to introduce you to Michi, Michi is the kind of person that will speak to you as if who you are and what matters to you is what he desires to know most, as if there really is joy in the unplanned moments of sitting with another. There's a sophistication to the way Michi approaches a conversation, something that came so gently and humbly across, but something so intentional that says, “I now enough to value you and learn from you” We chat about the importance of rooting your value in something that cannot change or will always be there, about how deeply the birds and the sunset impact how we see life, and a what a well placed ice cream shop has to do with peaceHe shares the reality of how big changes all at once came into his life have proven to him that our ability often outweighs our fear, how time alone actually allows us to show up in a more impactful way as someone who deeply values time and connection with others, and why knowing those that are different from us is something we all need to have in our livesHe shares why offering to lead, to give the speech, or sing in a talent show is some of the best advice he can give, (and I have to agree.)There's a lot about Michi that I truly admire, a lot about how he is able to articulate his view on life, humanity, and his role as a part of it all. If you could make someone smile would you? Would you take the time to brighten someones day simply because you could?Today I want to introduce you to Adam, I met Adam briefly back in May when I was in Portugal for the first time and I was instantly sure of two things; that we become friends and that I would come back and get to know him more. Well thankfully both were true, coming back to Algarve and getting to see more of what he does here, having him quite literally, show me the ropes of kite surfing, and in what was possibly my favorite times, driving around location scouting and getting to chat in the carThere is something to be said for those that don't make another feel as though they need to “measure up,” you know the kind of person you feel ok to be yourself around, ok to not know the answer to something, and ok to be silly without worrying if you will be seen as less. Adam is such a person. We chat about what it means to be an open minded person; towards people, towards opportunities, and towards life. We talk about what it means to not worry about the opinions of others, not fearing those opinions or letting them hold us back, and why being honest is worth the workHe shares change is something he's looking forward to, to growth, to being uncomfortable in what he's learning and how he is growing, and who he might become as he gets older, be it a version of Johnny Knoxville or maybe something more reserved. He shares why he values growing up in a time when they still “fixed something” if it was broken and how maybe simply listening to each other more might allow us in some ways to get back to that.Adam is one that sincerely cares, one who will offer what he can to help another, and one who is honestly, someone you could laugh with, have deep conversation with, or sit in silence with and feel as though it was time well spent. He is one who speaks of himself with honesty and one that creates a space of ease for others to do the same. So tune in today and meet Adam, a human worth listening to, one worth learning from and being reminded by simply hearing his own story, how the importance of taking the right things serious and not taking other things too serious might allow us to see someone else with an open mindAnd to you Adam thank you, thank you for sharing time, your talent, your open heart, and your sense of humor with me. I'm truly grateful to have had these days with you and for the chance to get to know the genuine and kind human that you are even more.

Have you ever been reduced to a label someone else gave you?Today I want to introduce you to Michael, Michael and I met back in December by the pool in Tahiti, I was ending a trip and he was just beginning what would be a 6 month adventure he had planned a couple years for. We chatted briefly and stayed in touch, I got to see his adventures and as he made his way back to New York we met up again and had a chatHe shared how his experience traveling changed him, for the time traveling with someone and the time traveling alone, how laughter and contentment aren't always the same but how he witnessed and took part in them as he went from place to placeHe shared in one of the most honest and sincere ways the difference between how he feels about joy and yet what he wants more of in his life, how relationships and people are at the core of what it all comes back to, and how taking positive feedback is a thing we can learn to be ok withWe chat about one of the scariest moments on his trip as he fell sick in the worlds largest cave and how day three in the cave and making his way out became such a valuable lesson, I think for all of us in tough times Michael is one of those people that you meet and you feel as though when he asks how your day is, he means it, like when he smiles at you it is genuine, and like when you get to spend time with him he values you.
