he New birth is not a change of habit! Though it will produce a change of habit! It "produces" a New creature! The New man, born of the Spirit! The new creature is supernaturally known, by the revelation which is found in the Word! It's a new man, born of the Spirit. It's not a reformation of the sinner, it's the birth of a saint. It's the union of God and man, enacted by the Spirit's indwelling! It's eternal life now given, it's God's eternal word bringing forth! The New birth is not about a "pardoned" sinner, it's about a new creature, sins forgiven, righteousness imputed! God now has sons, by the fact of Christ's resurrection, sons brought into glory, when Christ was born from death to life - in the resurrection. Death has got nothing on us, because Christ being raised dieth no more, even so, because we are IN CHRIST, all of Christ's accomplishment at resurrection are now ours! We are sons - IN CHRIST Christ died - We died with HimHe was buried - We were buried with Him He was raised - We were raised with Him He is seated today and we are seated with Him! This is the new creature! The New creature is perfectly identified in the Saviour's work! Christ's accomplishment at resurrection are all ours today! He gave Him (Christ) to be head over all things to the church, which is His body! Christ's accomplishment are towards the church - the family of the New Creature, the Father's family! This revelation when fully seen will give rise to men who walk in victory, who walk in power and who walk in love! Today, you and I, having believed the gospel are IN HIS WORK! Now and always ...Blessed!
A difficult aspect of the job is the poor understanding of the public of what we do in EMS, and the poor understanding that our non-EMS friends and family have of what we doThose of us in EMS can understand each other better, we have seen the same tragedy and struggled with the same difficulties that are so hard to articulateWhat does retirement look like from a career paramedic in EMS?Casey struggles with this, it's hard to think about not caring for patients anymore. The closer he gets to retirement, the more it looks a little less clear what that looks like exactlyEddie isn't planning retirement soon so he can help provide for his kids. He does have retirement investments and fire benefitsAdvice for newbies in EMS:If you are seeing warning signs of burnout, get counseling immediately. Don't write it off or try to ignore it as normalEddie would not have tried to fight the warning signs of PTSD, he would have sought help much soonerHe did struggle with suicidal thoughts for a period of time – counseling was the solution. Sleep deprivation was a major factor in these thoughts for himHe had a breaking point where he felt ready to end his life – a counselor called him back at 2am and got him in quickly to talk and this helped him significantly. And he now feels the best he has mentally – it doesn't control him anymoreCasey talks about how few make paramedicine a career, it's a tough job and it has changed over his career, he recommends finding the fun. Learn new things. Self-reflection goes a long wayRecognize when you need to switch to a different place, organization or company as a paramedicCasey: “I feel bad, because I don't feel bad”We all feel different and respond differently to the things we see - you don't choose the things that affect youDon't be afraid to say something to your coworkers if you see something wrong, even though it's hard and confrontational – this helped me significantly when a partner called me out early in my EMT careerWe've lost people in EMS through the years, this is devastating. We share life with our partners and get to know them really wellWhen Eddie was feeling similar thoughts of suicide to our coworkers that committed suicide, it was a huge eye opener for him to see the grief of their lossBad calls can haunt you; we have all seen it in others and ourselvesSupport the showFull show notes can be found here: Episodes - Practical EMS - Content for EMTs, PAs, ParamedicsMost efficient online EKG course here: Practical EKG Interpretation - Practical EMS earn 4 CME and learn the fundamentals through advanced EKG interpretation in under 4 hours. Ps Sean today starts a new five part series looking at the Word of God. Today he examines the historical accuracy of the Bible, Old and New Testaments and gradually leads us into a realization that we cannot live without the Word of God if we are to be nourished Spiritually. Jesus was speaking in Matthew 4:4 (NIV) "It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”We know that the word of God is God, the scripture tells us this, there are two ways we get this word. Logos is the physical word. Anyone can have Logos words, they look good but are not life transforming. John 6:63 (NIV) says "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life". When God speaks we have Rhema words, God breathed, the words come alive to us. By faith, we need to trust what God is speaking to us through His Word. Sean goes on to speak of some practical steps for us starting with that fact that the Word of God is our daily bread. Then he focuses on some cardinal facts associated with us knowing and quoting scripture that relate to daily life. For every one of us..We are a child of GodWe are fully known by GodWe are fully loved by GodWe are called by HimHe has plans and purposes for usGod made us righteousWe are free from the power of sin and everything that holds usWe are a masterpieceOur bodies are a temple of the Holy SpiritWe are holy and blameless before GodWe are chosen God provides all our needsHe will guard us against the enemy and we are protectedWe are one with others in the bodyScripture calls us His children and we are in awe of GodWe are blessed, we are highly favoured, we are called by name, every one of us But without His Word, without knowing His Word, we don't know who we are!
This week I met with Harry Robinson – a few of you may know himHe is a man of God and a visionary, and for awhile we worked together- he is also someone I love and respect• during our long, rambling conversation, Harry said something that woke me up• he said, “I've been finding beauty lately–everywhere”- it seems I need to be awakened to beauty• friends do this for me – though they don't always know it◦ maybe, I've been trudging through too much muck, concerned with◦ the condition of our nation and disappointed with obnoxious Christians• but since our meeting on Tuesday, I've been seeing more beautyI'll tell you why we begin with beauty todayBecause Jesus has been warning us away from behavior- we could describe as “ugly religion,”• and it has been spreading through our culture in recent years◦ it's always been here: people who enjoy heated arguments◦ who assume it's their job to pronounce judgments,◦ who will always act like they're more righteous than others• it's possible you've seen your share of ugly religion
There are questions that can only be answered with reference to Jesus. Death is one of them. Jesus makes an audacious claim today: follow Me, and you will never taste death.Either He has this STRENGTH, or we must STONE HIMEither He can REDEEM His own from death, or we must throw ROCKS at HimEither we sing HALLELUJIA that one has come to help with our death problem, or we must HURL stones at HimHe either kills death, or we kill Him. He is despised and rejected of menAcquainted with griefHe was wounded for our transgressionHe was bruised for our iniquitiesHis chastisement of our peace was upon himHe was oppressed, and he was afflictedHe was the lam to be slaughteredHe was taken from prion and from judgementHe made his grave with the wicked That is the perfect example of an everlasting love, his everlasting kindness towards us.He took our place, a form of replacement of what we had to suffered. He is our redeemer. He is the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the worldHe did not just take away the punishment of our sins, also he remembered them no more. Matthew wrote in chapter 26:28: 28 For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. The word remission means to separate our sins from us, to release us from bondage or imprisonment. Letting go of something as if it never happened. That is how God has forgiven our sins, as if it never happenedThe love of God was the reason HE died for us, His plan right from the beginning. His Love for us is the foundation of our relationship with him. He did all, so that we can rest on his promises, showing us the way of Life. Living it out for us. In knowing that our Sins has been forgiving, we see Jesus as our redeemer, for repentance is not change of behaviour, rather the change of mind. Forgiveness was offered and you can only receive it (Acts 26:18), because HE died for us. We cannot do anything for it Acts 26:18 says 18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. The Love of God can be found in the forgiveness of Christ. For it is in His sake that we have been forgiving. Thinking about the Love of God, we should narrow our mind on the death of Christ, his works, actions HE has shown us through his death. One sacrifices is enough for the whole world (Hebrew 10:1-4, 10-14). For the sacrifices was once and all (Heb. 10:10-14) Our assurance of life after death is the death of Christ. Hence, the most important question about life, which is what happened to me when I die, has already been answered. Without us doing anything for it. We find the Love of Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Once a time the sacrifices was temporal It could not purge Sin for every It has to be done year by year Worshiper still had the conscience of sins There was a remembrance of sin And not possible to clean the sins of the world But the sacrifices of Christ as writing in Hebrews 10:10-14 is. The offering of the body of Jesus Christ was once for all Just one offered was made and all sins has been covered once and for all. The sacrifice of Christ is not depended on change in behavior, or character or prayer of confession of sin We are perfected for every through His offering; hence, We are not in doubt for ever. Eternity started the day we received Christ. I am perfected for ever, and it is where we find the Love of God. For God's Love for us is not based on your actions, His Love for US is UNCONDITIONAL. Romans 8:38-39 best explained the unconditional Love of God for US. For His Love for us is in Christ Jesus. I am loved by God in Christ Jesus The surpassing Love of God is upon my Life His Love is my everyday reality I keep my mind focus on his thoughts that I am Loved I am forever saved; I haven rescued from destruction for ever Eternity is my everyday reality. No power, no principality, Nothing I have ever done and things that I will do can never separate me from the God's Love. I am sure of this Fact, each and every day of my life. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/assumpta-widak/message

There is something so beautifully rendered in this piece of heartbreak I have always identified with.Written by husband and wife Dave Ellingson and Kim Carnes and released in March 1980, it was the first single from Rogers' album Gideon. It's a tough three plus minutes to travel for some because the poetry informs with an unbearable truth for those paying rapt attention. When Kim cries "Put Out The Light" and Kenny counters with his plea of"Just Hold On", attaching their dramatic authenticity to the words, I Can't Keep From Crying Sometimes.A profound prayer from two dreamers who could never have imagined the twist of consequence dedication and attachment can bring.I'm a sucker for songs which dispense a healthy dose of yearning and struggle. And when two gifted voices collide within a symphonic world of intense devotion real humans share , I'm Gone, Gone, Gone Like A Cool Breeze.I imagine that's why "He Stopped Loving Her Today" has been named in several surveys as the greatest country song of all time. It was released in April 1980, only a month after "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer". That Bobby Braddock / Curly Putman composed opera made 1980 quite A Good Year For The Roses."Don't fall in love with a dreamer‘Cause he'll always take you inJust when you think you've really changed himHe'll leave you againDon't fall in love with a dreamer‘Cause he'll break you every timeOh, put out the light, just hold onBefore we say goodbye".Damn Straight.-Rich Buckland

音乐:《她她她》 金池 · 魏雪漫 · 譚維維《Don't let the old man in》Toby Keith Lyrics Don't let the old man inI wanna leave this aloneCan't leave it up to himHe's knocking on my doorAnd I knew all of my lifeThat someday it would endGet up and go outsideDon't let the old man inMany moons I have livedMy body's weathered and wornAsk yourself how would you beIf you didn't know the day you were bornTry to love on your wifeAnd stay close to your friendsToast each sundown with wineDon't let the old man inMany moons I have livedMy body's weathered and wornAsk yourself how would you beIf you didn't know the day you were bornWhen he rides up on his horseAnd you feel that cold bitter windLook out your window and smileDon't let the old man inLook out your window and smileDon't let the old man in

How important is it for you to feel valued, to feel that the person before you, no matter their role, sees you as equal? What would it look like if we valued others regardless of their position, regardless of our position, regardless of what they know but rather by how they interacted with humanity?Today I want to introduce you to Sebastian, Sebastian is a man that has taken his love for nature and humanity and brought them together in how he runs his restaurant, how he pours his heart into what he shares from his kitchen, and how he is present with those in front of himHe shares with me how he and his partner value the environment they work in and the people that are a part of that family, how they heart in those people matters over the knowledge they may have, and why the key to success is to preserve humility and respect, and to treat others as equal; that no one is lower than you in life or in workWe talk about the importance in sitting with a place and its people, why its important to enjoy life in its entirety, to focus on its joys often, and to not wait for something specificHe shares how his time out of Bolivia gave him perspective and in so many ways validated what he knows, and in other ways gave him gratitude for what is present in his lifeSebastian is not unlike many others I met in Bolivia in his warmth, he is a man with a kind smile almost always about his face, eyes that seek to see and know who stands before him, and a heart focused on the ways he can give of who he is to those he loves and those in his lifeSo tune today and meet Sebastian, one that I admire for his courage to share who he is with someone he barely knows, someone who does not fear sharing his heart, someone who is willing to push himself beyond what may be easy to connect and share what life has taught him with humility and love in a way I am honored to share with youAnd to you Sebastian thank you, thank you for your willingness to be so patient with my flawed Spanish, for your graciousness in welcoming me into your home at Ancestral and the way your heart pours so beautifully into the food you shared with me. It was an honor to be welcomed and I look forward to seeing you again my friend @sebasancestral
Have you ever heard that the way to someone's heart is through their stomach? What if food was also a way to get to know the heart of a person or a country?Today I want to introduce you to Mauricio someone who does just that, Mauricio is one of the incredible head chefs at Ancestral located in La Paz, a city so full of diversity, vibrance, beauty, and life; and Mauricio does an incredible job of bringing each of those qualities into the food he creates Yet in addition to being an incredible chef, Mauricio is also a man who values and does not take lightly the impact that role has on those around himHe shares the joy he feels in cooking and working with his hands but also the deeper joy in seeing his guests enjoy what he has created for themHe shares how he's learned to care for the parts of the restaurant beyond the kitchen, the reminder that the restaurant is a business as well as a place of creativity, the importance in seeing those two areas separately and clearly, and as the important things that they are We talk about the culture within Bolivia, its ability to grow and change with the world and the way its diversity is something he is grateful for Mauricio is one that pours so much into his work, but also one I have a ton of respect for in the way he runs his “ship” there is a tangible sense of care and respect amongst the family surrounding him in the kitchen and on the floor, a sense of character and calm that is rarely present in a restaurant environment, and an attention to detail that creates space for passion to be present in every dish that leaves the kitchenSo tune in today and meet Mauricio, the man that reminded me just how possible it is to be passionate, present, and productive in what we doAnd to you Mauricio thank you, thank you for allowing me the honor of getting to know you, for the chance to hear more of who you are, what matters to you, and what has impacted how you show up in this world, thank you for your patience and presence, and of course for sharing the way food turns into art in your kitchen @mauriciolopezancestral

165 – Have you ever noticed all the ways Jesus loved his disciples? If you were going to tell someone you loved them, what would you say? How would you say it? There are so many possibilities. Just saying the words, “I love you,” doesn't always convey love does it? It's about the tone of voice, the circumstances, your facial expressions and body language, the sincerity in your heart. A lot more than just words goes into letting someone know you love them. And if you were going to show someone you loved them, what would you do? To them? For them? With them? Again, there are lots of ways to show someone you love them, sometimes without even saying a word. Actions often express much more love than words ever could.A listener recently requested I explore in a podcast episode, all the ways Jesus expressed love to his disciples. Well there's no way to talk about them all in one short episode, but this week I take an overview of many of the ways Jesus loved his disciples. And the implication is that he loves us in the very same way. Here are the ways Jesus loved his disciples mentioned in this episode:Jesus loved them first and foremost by being true to himself and his purposeHe loved them by choosing them to follow himHe taught them publicly and privatelyHe appointed them to preach and teach and empowered them to do soHe taught them not just with his words but with his exampleHe was patient with themHe answered the questionsHe rebuked themHe prepared them for when he would no longer be with themHe sent the Holy Spirit to guide them once he was goneHe trusted them to do what God called them to doWhen you look at every single word and action through the lens of how much Jesus loved his disciples, his love is so much more obvious. And remember, the love in Jesus's heart for his disciples includes you and me as well. Here's how Jesus summed up this love: "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love." John 15:9 NIVJesus loves us the way the Father loves him. Are you willing to open your heart to and accept that kind of love?To see all the Bible quotes in this week's episode: thebiblepseakstoyou.com/165Support the show_________________________James Early, the Jesus Mindset Coach, is a Bible teacher, speaker, and podcaster. Beauty, then, is not mere decoration, but rather an essential element of the liturgical action, since it is an attribute of God himself and his revelation. These considerations should make us realize the care which is needed, if the liturgical action is to reflect its innate splendour. Pope Benedict XVILast week we got descriptions of what precede and what is before the throne including the descriptions of the four living creatures and how they never stop saying the glorious Trisaigon chorus. Holy Holy Holy is the Lord god almighty, who was and is and is to come. So today we wrap up Revelation 4 with verse 9-11The PassageAnd whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying,“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”The List:The Four living creatures give God gloryThe four living creatures give God thanksHe is seated on the throneHe lives forever and everThe twenty-four elders fall down before him who's on the throneThe twenty-four elders worship himHe lives forever and everThe twenty-four elders cast their crowns before him The twenty four elders say ““Worthy are you, our Lord and God,to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”Jesus is worthy to receive GloryJesus is worthy to receive honorJesus is worthy to receive powerJesus created all thingsJesus's will caused things to exist and be createdThe Declarations:The four living creatures around your throng give you glory and thanksJesus you are seated on the throneJesus you are alive and live forever and everThe twenty-four elders around your throne fall before you in worship and adorationYou live forever and everThe twenty-four elders cast down their crowns before youThe twenty four elders cry out““Worthy are you, our Lord and God,to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”Jesus you alone are worthy to receive GloryJesus you're worthy to receive honorJesus you're worthy to receive powerJesus you created all thingsBy your will, your good pleasure Jesus, all things exist and were createdJesus's will caused things to exist and be createdSubmit feedback or content:johan@beholding.caPremium feed to support the show and get future music and bonus content sent right to your podcast player as an episode. Luke 7:11-18Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don't cry.” Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. They were all filled with awe and praised God. “A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said. “God has come to help his people.” This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country. John's disciples told him about all these things. Calling two of them,Jesus resurrected someoneThe New Testament records three of these resurrection miracles, including the raising of a widow's son, of Jairus' daughter, and of LazarusLuke the physician is the only one to record the raising of a widow's sonThe widow's son lies in an open coffin on his way to his grave when Jesus performs the miracleHis miraculous power to resurrectis not dependent upon whether a person has just died, has been dead for days, or is already decomposingThe same principle holds true regarding spiritual salvation: God and Christ can save any sinner no matter how old he is, how long he has been a sinner, or how badly he has sinned. The FamilyHe knows all the specifics of the case. His disciples see only a funeral as they pass, but He understands the circumstances of the corpse stretched out in the coffin. He knows that the deceased is a young man, the only son of his mother, and that she is a widow! He does not wait for anyone to plead with HimHe sees the widowed mother, He has "compassion on herJesus is not pretentious when He touches the coffin, but in humility He offers hopeThe MiracleThis miracle produces fear in those who witness it, but this fear turns into a deep feeling of awe for His compassion and powerHis primary purpose is to glorify God. The people glorify God when they say, "A great prophet has risen up among us" and "God has visited His people."Deuteronomy 18:15"The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Just the privilege of fellowship with God is infinitely more than any thing that God could give. When he gives himself he is giving more than anything else in the universe. With an outsider's perspective, Jason Wise, director of the SOMM movies and founder of SOMM TV, has been able to find stories in the world of wine that interest a broad audience. In order to control more of the content pipeline and how the shows are distributed, Jason founded SOMM TV. Using "Somm" as more of a curator, SOMM TV has wine at its core and covers food, travel, and other alcohol, making it appealing to a broad (and younger) audience. What does having a call on your life look like? The simple answer to this question is to follow our discussion with Tavarus Jock McRay. Jock eloquently shared the genesis of his call from God. He walked us through his life journey.Grew up in a single-parent householdMom and dad were strong disciplinarians He was raised with the knowledge of the LordHis mom always knew he had a powerful presence of the LordGoing to Worship/church and praising the LordHe had a very powerful praise experience during worshipHe is self-taught in the wordHe loved reading and writing, he read a lot of Christian based bookHe began writing poetry and rap music The enemy was after his mind because of his knowledgeHis Call in 2012 He grew up in the Baptist church and had a foundation He was bullied in school and introverted as a child He was distracted by other children in and his mother had to discipline himHe strayed off as a young child and did not guard himselfHe was placed in a mental health institutionHe had one foot in the church and one in the worldThe ministry of Father figuresHis influences were ministers in the church and Kirk FranklinJock took a bag his mother had and began to organize his lifeHe met a man who prophesied that no young woman could be with him unless she was a woman of God.He had to surrender to the Lord willinglyThe way to salvation:Hear: Romans 10:17Believe: Hebrews 11:6Repent: Acts 17:30-31Confess: Matthew 10:32Be Baptized: Mark 16:15-16Be faithful unto death: Revelation 2:10Use Discount Code for J3Days Apparel: CBG10Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/CalledbyGod)J3Days Apparel This apparel company seeks to lift up Christ for He is the Savior and the Redeemer! The effect of this economic downturn has not fully realised yet, largely due to a massive government spend-up. However, in the long run, government cannot cushion the population from the inevitable.NZ Government debt is currently at 138 billion $This is $29,326 for each citizen (children included)Government debt has gone from 20% of GDP to 55%Many businesses have closed permanently, and others are failingUnemployment rates are risingA economic recession seems inevitable, and some even speak of a depressionWe are now in "faith territory" concerning God's provision for our livesThe need to walk by faith is stronger today than it was, say, last yearIn short, the economic forecast is not looking good for the foreseeable future. This is a good time to look to God and His faithfulness in a renewed way, and build up our faith on His wonderful promises.Psalm 111:4–5 (AMP)_ He has given food and provision _ _ to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; _ _ He will remember His covenant forever _ and imprint it [on His mind].God gives food & provision to those reverently and worshipfully fear HimHe remembers His covenant foreverEvidently, food and provision for God's people is a covenant issueWhen you became a Christian, God entered into a covenant with you.Matthew 26:27–28 (NLT) And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, "Each of you drink from it, _ 28 for_ _ this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. _ It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. The shed blood of Jesus Christ has ratified (confirmed) the New Covenant (New Agreement) that God has made with His peopleEveryone who has surrendered their life to Jesus Christ, and accepted Him as their Lord and Saviour is part of this New CovenantThis covenant includes:Forgiveness of sins & eternal lifeHealing of body and soul (physical & emotional healing) (1 Peter 2:24)Protection from plaques, disasters & calamities (Psalm 91Provision for our lives (Phil. 4:19)Deuteronomy 8:18 (ESV)You shall _ remember the Lord your God ,_ _ for it is he who gives you power to get wealth ,_ _ that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day._God is able to confirm (fulfil) His covenant with His people irrespective of the economy around us. God is not limited by the economy of the world.2 Corinthians 8:9 (NKJV)For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet _ for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. _Ampl. … by His poverty you might become enriched (abundantly supplied). On the cross, Jesus became absolutely poverty-stricken (sacrificially)So that we, through His sacrifice, become rich & be abundantly suppliedGod has demonstrated, again and again, His willingness and ability to provide for His people irrespective of the economy:Manna, water and quail in the wilderness for the Israelites (Ex. 16 & 17)Oil and flour for the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:14)Oil for the prophet's widow & her two sons (2 Kings 4:1-7)Philippians 4:19 (NKJV)And _ my God shall supply all your need _ according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. This is a statement of factMake this a faith declaration, and confess aloud it every dayBuild your faith in the good days so its working in the lean daysPhil. 4: 19 (Wuest NT) But my God shall satisfy _ to the full _ your every need _ in accordance with His wealth in glory in Christ Jesus. _God supplies according to His wealth in glory, not according to wealth in NZWealth on NZ is limited, but God's wealth in glory (heaven) is unlimitedKing David made bold faith declarations:Psalm 144:12–15 (NIV)… our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace. _ 13 Our barns will be filled with every kind of provision. _ Our _ sheep will increase by thousands, by tens of thousands _ in our fields; _ 14 our_ _ oxen will draw heavy loads. _ There will be no breaching of walls, no going into captivity, no cry of distress in our streets. _ 15 Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the Lord._Psalm 37:18–19, 25 (NLT) Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever. _ 19 They will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough. _ … _ 25 Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet_ _ I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread. _Prophetic Word for 2020: "2020 – a Year of Plenty"Prophetic Word from ps Terry:"God is sending people, resources, finances and healings to you, as we speak, that you could NEVER imagine. Your situation is about to change. He gave me the word UNIMAGINABLE."1 Timothy 1:18 (ESV) This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare.

Churches can have a reputation for judgy behaviour. Folks with a past, folks who don't have it all together, and folks who have doubts can sometimes feel like church isn't for them. Yet, the gospel passage for today tells us this isn't the case at all. In fact, Jesus welcomes those who have messed up in big ways. He isn't surprised by our weaknesses. Instead, he simply asks if we want to follow him, even if we can't follow through as we would like. In this sermon, Fr. Stephen tells us how Jesus' interaction with his disciples can give hope to everyone who struggles with being a good follower of Jesus.Scripture reference: John 21:1-19Preached by Rev. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!” 16 For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”17 And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own.Confirmed identity - knowing we’re in good standing - so we are motivated to act on it How does this fit into God’s larger purpose - how do we act on itPartnership - to establish and expand his kingdom on earthDiscipleship - to bring others into the kingdom, affirm their identity, so that they can do the same for othersPARTNERSHIP God’s purpose from the beginning - to join with him out of free will because we are motivated by love (see Rom. 8:14)How confident is God in his love that he can surrender authority to us, knowing that his purposes will still be accomplished because his love will motivate us to join himHe created all and has authority over us - but he ceded his authority because of his desire for usOriginal purpose - Adam and EveGenesis 1:26-28 - 26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”Desired for us to partner with us so much that he gave Adam and Eve his authority knowing that they would turn it over to SatanEven then he had a plan to get it back for usRev. 13:8 - “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”God knew we would need redeemed and authority returned to usHe so valued it that it was worthy giving his son, and he had already committed himself to it before Adam even failedOnce Jesus came and won that authority back, he again surrendered it to usMatthew 28:18-20 - “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”Go in HIS authority Partnership is the open secret of the kingdomPaul called it the mystery of the gospelEphesians 3:3-6 (TPT) - 3 For this wonderful mystery, which I briefly described, was given to me by divine revelation, 4 so that whenever you read it you will be able to understand my revelation and insight into the secret mystery of the Messiah. 5 There has never been a generation that has been given the detailed understanding of this glorious and divine mystery until now. He kept it a secret until this generation. God is revealing it only now to his sacred apostles and prophets by the Holy Spirit. 6 Here’s the secret: The gospel of grace has made you, non-Jewish believers, into coheirs of his promise through your union with him. And you have now become members of his body—one with the Anointed One!God restored his purpose to give us his kingdom through JesusNow what are you going to do with it9 My passion is to enlighten every person to this divine mystery. It was hidden for ages past until now, and kept a secret in the heart of God, the Creator of all. 10 The purpose of this was to unveil before every throne and rank of angelic orders in the heavenly realm God’s full and diverse wisdom revealed through the church. 11 This perfectly wise plan was destined from eternal ages and fulfilled completely in our Lord Jesus Christ, so that now 12 we have boldness through him, and free access as kings before the Father because of our complete confidence in Christ’s faithfulness. What would you do if you knew the kingdom was yours - how much bolder would you be to speak its message and try to bring people into itGod’s kingdom is unending, but it manifests on earth only to the extent we partner with him and bring it hereGod doesn’t just want to work with us, He put a system in place that requires our participation to see His work complete on earth. We have access to it as much as we explore, expand, and follow himSalvation is just the entry point - it cost Jesus to purchase it, but now it’s freeHe died once for all - we don’t have to keep going back to itIf you remain focused on whether your sin is forgiven, you’re distracted from expanding the kingdomWhen we stay stuck at salvation, it’s like being given the kingdom to explore and develop, and we just walk in the gate, celebrate for a little bit, and then set up camp next to the gate. DISCIPLESHIPAdam - be fruitful and multiplyGenesis 1:28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”Jesus - make disciplesMatthew 28:18-20 - “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”The message of the second Adam is the same as the first, it’s just spiritual instead of physical Adam multiplied physically. We are called to help God with spiritually multiplication. By bringing in adopted sons and daughters. The combination of an open heart and the Holy Spirit creates offspring. No matter how good the messages are, and how much we grow in here, we’re not fulfilling our purpose if it doesn’t make it outside these wallsYou have something to share - no matter where you areNon-believers and believers - show them Jesus even if you can’t say his nameSalvation is just the entry point - making disciples means showing them the kingdom and confirming their identitySpeaking into their lives as God sees them, and how they look in the futureRevelation 19:10 - the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. When you speak what God says about someone, you’re revealed the heart of Jesus and who He is. When you prophesy to someone the finished product of who they are, you’re both speaking from the future as how God already sees them and you’re propelling them into it by speaking it into existence. When God speaks, he creates. His word is life. He’s already spoke about who we are, and those around us. By partnering with him, and speaking that word over people, we create in themMatthew 5:43-45 TPT “Your ancestors have also been taught ‘Love your neighbors and hate the one who hates you.’ However, I say to you, love your enemy, bless the one who curses you, do something wonderful for the one who hates you, and respond to the very ones who persecute you by praying for them. For that will reveal your identity as children of your heavenly Father. He is kind to all by bringing the sunrise to warm and rainfall to refresh whether a person does what is good or evil.”Your identity as a child of God is manifested when you connect with the Spirit by speaking his heart for that person over even when they’re outward actions are most opposite to that. By doing so, you’re not just revealing your identity, but it’s pointing back to Jesus. Because only through Jesus can you take a curse and transform it into a blessing. That’s what he did on the cross, took the curse that was on all of us and turned it into the blessing of Abraham that we can all enter into. Jesus and his disciples - showed them the way to salvation, taught them about his kingdom, and told them who they were and what they’re place was in that kingdom“The people who influenced me the most aren’t the ones who told me what to do, but they told me who I was.” - Bob GoffDiscipleship- speaking into others what God says about them. Moses: i am nobody and can’t speak right - voice of a nationExodus 3:10-11 - you’ll lead your people out of EgyptGideon: a coward who was the lowliest of his tribe - mighty man of valorJudges 5:12 And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, “The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valor.”Peter: unable to stand by Jesus under pressure - a rockMatthew 16:18 - And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rockb I will build my church, and the gates of hellc shall not prevail against it. Confident in your identity, stepping into maturity, co-labor with God by speaking His identity into others so they become rooted in it, grow in maturity, and then do the same to someone else. That’s the cycle.
The old adage boldly states that you should never meet your heroes, and I guess that's said by people who've experienced meeting their heroes and being bitterly disappointed by it. I can gladly say that with Jim Adkins, that's not the case.I first saw the video for 'The Middle' on Kerrang! TV way back in 2001. I didn't have satellite or cable TV at the time because my family weren't particularly well off, and I think I came across it when I was at the house of my then girlfriend. I was 16 years old.I've carried Jimmy Eat World around with me ever since. Bleed American is an important album for me, it demonstrates a grasp of pop sensibilities that never felt like a compromise, that always felt natural and heartfelt. So meeting Jim was one of the most daunting things I have ever done. He is one of the nicest guys I've ever met and so incredibly grounded despite the huge success Jimmy Eat World have had.As we grow older a lot of the music we used to like loses its shine, your tastes change and things fall away (I think I still have a couple of Korn and Marilyn Manson albums kicking around back at my mum's house, and I think that says it all really). For my particular tastes, punk has always been the exception to that rule.Jimmy Eat World are not, of course, a punk band. Yet there's always been something about the honesty of their music which resonates with me even as I grow older. In my opinion their music has a timeless quality which goes beyond genres or trends.Jim talks about it briefly in the interview, and I think he's right when he says that if you create honest music you'll create an honest connection with people that sticks. And that, I think, just about sums up my feelings on Jimmy Eat World's music.Highlights include:Jim opened himself up to the possibility of doing anything this year and it turned out to be a solo recordThat doing it on his own is a somewhat terrifying but its good when it's doneBeing a musician and a music fan came at the same time for himHe's only recently come to the realisation that being a musician is what he doesHis drive to keep writing is the desire to keep challenging himselfHaving to keep the songwriting muscles active or you risk losing your edgeIt's okay to write something crappyYou never know where an idea is going to land, you might cannibalise it later for another thingAdversity teaches you something, self-growth is almost like inspiration but not all art has to come from painSongwriting fills a void nothing else doesNone of the band had any idea they'd last as long as they did and it just kinda turned into something successfulIf you're honest with yourself about your interests, people will get it and come along for the ride with youIf you're honest with yourself about what you find rewarding then people will have an honest connection with you that sticksMe being starstruck with JimAnd Jim being starstruck with seeing HeartJim still gets excited to see where the set goesThe single series was brought about almost as an experimentIt's a lot these days to ask people to check out an albumThe music industry has changed – some avenues are seen as exposure and others and viewed as money making schemesThe solo stuff is inspired by the 50s/60s songwriting construction – more concise songsJim's solo stuff is cracking and I urge you to check it out. It gives you a totally different insight into his musical abilities and there's something really refreshing about the way he delivers his version of 50s and 60s style pop. It's not trite or cliche, it's just honest and concise. A trait many artists would do well to recognise.I hope you enjoy this interview and I apologise for my nerves. And also the chewing gum.Featured MusicIntro: Voodoo Puppets – Electric Chair Blues (used under CC licence, you can check it out here).Jim Adkins - I Will GoJimmy Eat World - KillJim Adkins - Girls Just Wanna Have FunI make no claim to the copyright of any of the music in this episode.'I Will Go' and 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' can be found on Jim's solo EP/7" single series, which you can get on iTunes and here.'Kill' is from the album Futures which is amazing.LinksCheck out Jim on Twitter and Facebook.Jimmy Eat World can also be found on Twitter and Facebook.Thank you!My thanks are eternal to you and everyone else who has listened to the podcast and helped me get it to where it is.
