At the age of fourteen, he recorded his first full-length gospel album and traveled locally playing revivals.Once he left for Nashville to attend Nashville State Community College, he furthered his musical experience in small jazz combos and was introduced to Michael Turner of Mothertone/Sleishman drums.While in college, Jed became a Mothertone artist and later attended Middle Tennessee State University where he was mentored by Derrek Phillips and Lalo Davila.After obtaining his BA in Jazz studies he recorded, performed, produced, and toured with artist such as: Jackson Capps, Alyssa Palmer, Carli Brill, Cosmic Collective, The Hathaways, Larry Mitchell, Ashley K, The Downton Band, JW Faria, Dara Tucker, Abby Kasch, and Hunter Loken Parcel.As a member of the Tootsies Birthday Bash backing band, Jed has performed with notable artists such as Kid Rock, Joe Nichols, Terri Clark, Dan Tyminski, and Don Goodman.He formed Jed Smith Trio in 2021 with Joel Gage (guitar/vox) and Patrick Atwater (upright bass). Hi Guys, So since I haven't put out a new mix in a while I thought it might be an idea to upload a mix I did in a rush for a party of my friends in May. Its not really the greatest mix I have done but its chock full of some wicked new school and old school anthems, all tracks I wanted to use to get the crowd going. Apologise for the sound quality, I really need some help with tweaking my set up to improve the sound quality its distorting a lot and quite, not sure what to do exactly. Perhaps as i suspect I have a faulty sound card. I tried a few things in this mix, and really REALLY rushed it out so forgive me.. PLEASE! one of the first bits i tried was a mashup of the new Bonkers track by dizze rascal and Ill to kill by The Bloody Beetroots.. I think this would have sounded much better in higher qaulity.. but let me know your thoughts. The best half of the mix is definitely the second half, especially if your not one to like listening to the same old school anthems like Eurythmics again! Anyway.. enough from me for now! I've been listening to this set while jogging and running in Central Park. It's full of energy, ups & downs, and some outstanding melodies. You will be hooked from the onset at the piano intro cause "I wouldn't stop it if I could" (track #1, Love Takes Over by David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland). My favorite track (#3) at the moment is Falling Anthem (Bad Boy Bill Extended Mix) featuring Alyssa Palmer while the best Pussycat Dolls i've heard in quite some time with I Hate This Part (Dave Aude Club Mix, track #6), a soring trance in Undo the Silence (David Forbes Remix) by Pulser (track #7) and the uplifting second fave tune in Forgiveness by Wamdue Project featuring Jonathan (track #10) (see lyrics below). I guess I like a good remake yet again and Teardrops by Diamond Cut (track #4) fill that need. Not to mention something old can be something new in a new mix of the September tune Can't Get Over by Figoboy (track #2). Also don't miss Not Alone (Deadmau5 Remix) by Gianluca Motta Featuring Molly. Deadmau5 is among my fave dj/producers and is often imitated. This particular track may be about a year old but I'm happy to finally find a place for it in one of my sets. Enjoy!
