This episode originally aired on August 10, 2023.   At around 3:30 am on March 9, 2019, 25-year-old Aubrey Dameron left her mother's house near Grove, Oklahoma. She told her family that she was going to meet someone. Aubrey hasn't been seen since.   This is a case full of confusing leads. Allegations that Aubrey was kidnapped and being held for ransom, an alleged murder confession, and evidence that, in my opinion, needs another look.   For years, Aubrey's family has searched high and low, but no sign of her has been found. They are desperate for answers.   If you listen to my other podcast, Disappearances, you know that I've discussed Aubrey's case before. I did a joint episode discussing Aubrey and the disappearance of Anthonette Cayedito with a heavy focus on the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous people. It is a very informative episode that is very close to my heart. So, if you're looking for more information on this epidemic, I absolutely recommend listening to that.   Now we worked on that episode back in 2021, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about these cases, and since then, there have been some updates in Aubrey's case. So, I thought I would try to bring Aubrey back into the spotlight and draw even more attention to her case with a full-length episode on just Aubrey.   At the time of her disappearance, Aubrey, a 5 foot 9, 130-pound Cherokee woman with brown hair and eyes, was wearing a black leather jacket, black top, black skirt, black knitted hose, and black boots. She has a triquetra symbol tattoo on her back and another tattoo reading "Shorty" (her nickname) on her upper left arm.   Anyone with information about Aubrey's case is asked to call the FBI at (918) 664-3300 or the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service at (918) 207-3800.   Follow the Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/MissingAubreyDameron   Thank you to our sponsor June's Journey! Transgender people are over four times more likely to be the victim of a violent crime than their cisgender counterparts. The rates of murder, rape, and violent crime of Indigenous people are all higher than the national average. In fact, according to the CDC, indigenous females experienced the second-highest rate of homicide in 2020. Aubrey Dameron is a transgender woman of Cherokee descent. On March 9, 2019, she walked out of her mother's home in Grove, Oklahoma. Her phone stopped pinging 100 feet away, and she hasn't been seen since. Aubrey's disappearance highlights the struggles that trans people face in general, as well as the specific struggles she had within her own community and family. On this week's chapter of The Book of the dead, we tell you the story of Aubrey Dameron. On March 9th 2019, Aubrey Dameron walked out her front door after telling her mother that she was going to meet a friend. She was never seen again. Over the last 5 years, the Delaware County sheriff's office have done an abysmal job of investigating Aubrey's case, even though her aunt and cousin think that she was the victim of a hate crime. Why? Because Aubrey Dameron is an indigenous, transgender, woman. Spirited Away: The Disappearance of Aubrey Dameron Episode #4Welcome to our NEW series Spirited Away. Welcome to our new series of videos where we start a new journey into the seemingly overlooked cases of missing and murdered Indigenous men, women, and children, from around the globe. In the United States, there are 574 recognized Native American Tribes, alone. Reservations are known to be vast expanses of rugged, untamed wilderness covering thousands of miles. Jurisdictional issues and lack of manpower, often cause slow response times and issues for investigators as they try to establish the agency in charge of each case. Cases that usually never see mainstream media coverage. They are...the forgotten.Thank you for listening to this episode of the Missing Persons Mysteries podcast! Please visit our YouTube Channel to discover more content:https://www.youtube.com/c/MissingPersonsMysteriesYou can also find us on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/MissingPersonsMysterieshttps://www.facebook.com/UnsolvedNationalParkMysterieshttps://www.facebook.com/groups/Missing411CasesPlease support this Podcast by becoming a Patron!https://www.patreon.com/missingpersonsCheck out our Merch!https://teespring.com/stores/missing-persons-mysteries-2If you have a story to share or would like to contact us directly please email us at:NationalParkMysteriesYT@gmail.comMissing Persons Mysteries is quickly becoming one of the most popular content creators. On February 5, 2025, the Quapaw Nation Marshal Service announced that remains found in Picher, Oklahoma, on January 31, 2025 were positively identified as Aubrey Dameron. Picher is about 35 miles from where Aubrey was last seen in Grove, Oklahoma. We'll keep you updated as more information is announced, but in the meantime, we're re-releasing our original episode on Aubrey's case from 2023.---------Transgender people are over four times more likely to be the victim of a violent crime than their cisgender counterparts. Was Aubrey's disappearance related to her “lifestyle,” as police claim, or was it someone close to her who made Aubrey disappear?Anyone with information on the disappearance of Aubrey Dameron is asked to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or go online at https://tips.fbi.gov/.
