Message us here!Well, 2025 is almost over and by all accounts, it was one of the hardest for mental health across America. The past year felt like emotional sandpaper: unstable jobs, AI anxiety, and a constant stream of obligations that made even simple days feel crowded. Beneath all that noise, a quieter force did much of the damage: loneliness. In this episode, Dr. Kibby unpacks why January often hits hardest after the holidays, why being surrounded by people can still feel empty, and how one-way relationships quietly burn us out.Dr. Kibby discusses a candid look at over-giving, how being so focused on other people can lead to a sneaky sense of loneliness. She breaks loneliness into three solvable parts: 1. Building real emotional support, 2. Being seen for who we really are, and 3. Restoring reciprocity so care flows both ways. She also talks about finding community where you might not expect it. If your local circle doesn't yet hold the parts of you that crave air, that's a bridge, not a dead end. The goal isn't more social plans; it's richer resonance. By focusing on one small habit each week (one ask, one honest share, one reciprocal ritual) you can turn the quiet of January into a reset for connection.Happy new year, Little Helpers. 339 – Thank You 2025!It's been a great year in many ways, but it had its challenges as well. There have been ups and downs for sure, but from all the people I talk to and interact with online, I feel a gradual and growing momentum in the way people's hearts are reaching out for things of the Spirit. Before we launch out into a new year, it can be really helpful to appreciate all the lessons learned in 2025 and the good received and experienced. In that spirit, that's what this episode is all about. I'll share snippets from 8 of the most listened to episodes from this past year. These are the things people found most helpful. And my hope is you'll find renewed inspiration and gratitude for the blessings from 2025.Thank you for being on this spiritual journey with me in 2025 and going forward into 2026. 2026 is calling out to you to know God more intimately, walk more closely with Christ, and to be moved by the Holy Spirit beyond the limitations the world would impose on you.∞∞∞∞∞∞∞SHOW NOTES: Full transcript and Bible quotes – thebiblespeakstoyou.com/339 Best Podcast Episodes 2025284 Your Age Doesn't Matter to God's Purpose for Your Life 297 Always Remember Who You Are302 Learning to Heal Like Jesus304 Satan Has No Power over You305 The Healing Power of Being Persistent306 Let God Happen307 God Wants a Covenant Relationship with You310 Talking Face to Face with God Text me your questions or comments.Support the showIf you enjoy the podcast, please rate and leave a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify__________________James Early, the Jesus Mindset Coach, is a Bible teacher, speaker, and podcaster. Sexier Than A Squirrel: Dog Training That Gets Real Life Results
Send us a textWhat if the keys to calmer, clearer dog training are hiding in a muddy field at dawn?In this episode, we sit down with a farm-animal vet who swapped spotless theatres for open skies and on-call chaos. She walks us through the reality of rural practice - live calves at sunrise, emergency lambings, tea-stop triage, and the quiet skill of handling animals without force or fear. From those stories come the lessons every dog owner needs: • How reading body language becomes second nature • Why space is a cue and how stepping ahead or behind a shoulder can turn movement on like a switch • How pen size, positioning, and calm energy make handling safer and more effective • Why one well-trained dog can steady nervous sheep better than three people • How preparation and restraint change outcomes - whether it's a surgical success or the weight of a loss under anaesthesiaThen we connect the dots.Reluctant horses become blueprints for confidence games. Herding principles translate directly into agility handling, leash work, recall, and settling in busy environments. Working collies, kelpies, and huntaways show what clarity, timing, and resilience look like in motion and how the same principles transform everyday pet training.By the end, you'll understand why “stock sense” isn't just for farmers. It's a universal animal language - one that takes the chaos out of training and replaces it with calm, connection, and confidence. If this sparks ideas for your own training, share the episode, hit follow, and drop a quick review.Support the showIf you're loving the podcast, you'll love our NEW Sexier than a Squirrel Dog Training Challenge even more! Ep 192 w/ Melissa Rodway (Fly Travel Radio) - The People You Meet While Travelling: Melissa on Stories, Meaning & Modern TravelIn this episode of the Winging It Travel Podcast, I'm joined by fellow traveller, podcaster, and author Melissa Rodway for a deep, honest, and refreshingly real conversation about travel, purpose, and why simply “wandering” isn't always enough anymore.Melissa shares how her early travels — including growing up in Australia, moving across Canada, and later long-term adventures — shaped her outlook on life. We talk about why travel doesn't magically fix everything, how purpose can completely change the way you experience a place, and what happens when the romantic idea of endless travel meets real life, work, and money. We also dive into:Why having a reason to travel matters more as you get olderThe myth that travel automatically transforms youHow Melissa's book The People You Meet was born from long bus rides and storytellingGroup travel vs solo travel — and why both still matterWhy freedom is such a powerful (and addictive) part of travelHow travel changes your relationship with yourself, not just the worldThis is an episode for travellers who've felt restless on the road, questioned the “quit your job and go” narrative, or wondered how to keep travel meaningful long-term. As the year draws to a close, many of us feel the pull toward change - resolutions, goals, and the quiet pressure to become someone “better” next year. But what if real change begins with meeting yourself differently? In this final Mindful Monday of the year, Ashley Bentley explores why self-acceptance - not self-criticism - is the true foundation for lasting transformation. Through grounded psychology, gentle neuroscience, and the wisdom of Ram Dass, this episode invites you to step out of self-judgement and into appreciation for your full humanity. You'll hear why New Year's resolutions so often fail, how the neurodivergent nervous system responds to pressure and demand, and why acceptance is not giving up - but creating the conditions where change becomes possible. The episode closes with a deeply nourishing loving-kindness (metta) meditation, offering compassion and care to all parts of you - the seen and unseen, the strong and the tender - just as you are. This is an invitation to end the year softly, and to begin again from a place of kindness, honesty, and self-respect.❤️ Support the ShowIf this episode resonated with you:✅ Follow or Subscribe to The Neurodivergent Experience⭐ Leave a quick review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify

Dr. Knight helps us unpack why these patterns persist, how they harm individuals and fracture the idea of ummah, and what accountability, healing, and allyship can look like moving forward. 338 - It's Freedom FridayHow often to you compare yourself with others? How's that workin' for you?One of the things I've really had to work at over the years is not to compare myself with others. When I've seen someone who is more successful, is smarter, stronger, better looking than me, it's easy to feel inferior to them. I've felt guilty I didn't work as hard as they did, or maybe I tried but didn't succeed like they did and it adds to the guilt of feeling I'm not good enough. And sometimes I've compared the mistakes I've made in life and the sins I've committed to what other people have done and it usually paralyzes me from going forward with my life.Comparing yourself to others is rarely a good idea and usually prevents you from making progress in your own life. There's a simple way to stop comparing yourself to others. And that's what we're talking about on this episode of Freedom Fridays.∞∞∞∞∞∞∞SHOW NOTES: Read the full transcript of this episode at thebiblespeakstoyou.com/338Text me your questions or comments.Support the showIf you enjoy the podcast, please rate and leave a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify__________________James Early, the Jesus Mindset Coach, is a Bible teacher, speaker, and podcaster. In this Hot Topic episode of The Neurodivergent Experience, Jordan James and Simon Scott examine how age limits, apprenticeships, and “youth-focused” career pathways quietly exclude neurodivergent adults — particularly those diagnosed later in life or whose paths didn't follow a linear timeline. They explore why these systems penalise late bloomers, how autistic and ADHD people are expected to “get it right” the first time despite growing up unsupported or misunderstood, and why burnout, delayed development, and real-world capacity are so often ignored in favour of rigid age-based judgments. They discuss:Apprenticeship age limits and youth-only career schemesLate diagnosis and delayed life milestonesWhy neurodivergent development isn't linearBurnout, missed opportunities, and starting again later in lifeWhy inclusion must account for neurodivergent timelinesA grounded, validating conversation about work, access, and why it's never “too late” — even when systems pretend it is.Our Sponsors:

In this episode of The Neurodivergent Experience, Jordan James and Simon Scott unpack what it means to be a passionate neurodivergent person in a world that often mistakes intensity for arrogance, aggression, or rudeness.Drawing on stories from work, friendships, family life, advocacy, sport, pop culture, and online spaces, they explore how Autistic and ADHD traits like directness, honesty, and emotional investment are frequently misunderstood — by neurotypical people and other neurodivergent people alike. They discuss:Why neurodivergent passion is often misread as aggressionBeing “too intense,” oversharing, and stating opinions like factsMisinterpretation in texts, messages, and online spacesRejection sensitivity, alexithymia, and emotional mismatchAnger vs passion, expectations, and emotional regulationWhy being misunderstood hurts more than being disagreed withA reflective, funny, and deeply human conversation about living with passion — without apologising for it or being punished for it.Our Sponsors:

Message us here!Ever felt like your worth depends on how useful you are to other people? Turning the big 4-0 pushed me to confront a lifelong habit of people pleasing. In this episode, I talk about people pleasing: how it took root in chaos, hid behind “being nice,” and quietly drained my energy, confidence, and joy. I unpack what research says about what "people pleasing" is, how chronic pleasing links to mental health issues, and why so many of us end up orbiting charismatic "takers" who love the spotlight while we shrink to keep them happy.I dig into the "Echo- Narcissus Syndrome": the dynamic between a people-pleaser and a narcissist. I talk about my own tendency to fall into the Echo-Narcissus Syndrome and how it's destroyed my relationships in the past. Then I walk through the practical, evidence-based strategies for breaking free of this syndrome. I'm learning to receiving without guilt, choosing mutual relationships over one-way giving, and navigating holiday pressures without abandoning myself. If you also find yourself falling into toxic dynamics where you give and give and give while losing yourself, then this episode is for you. 337 – Let the light of Christmas shine brightOne of the major themes at Christmas time is the light of Christ shining into a dark world. In fact the Christmas story has all kinds of light in it. There's the star that appears to the Wisemen from the East. There's the glory of God shining on the shepherds as the angels talk to them. And most important of all is the birth of Jesus, who came as the Light of the world. But Jesus didn't come just for us to be passive recipients of his light. He wanted us to follow his example of bringing light to the darkness of fear, disease, despair, and sin. He even said we are also the light of the world. And that's what this episode is about, being the light and letting your light shine out into the darkness this Christmas, and beyond. ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞SHOW NOTES: For a full transcript and Bible quotes, go to thebiblespeakstoyou.com/337Spotify Christmas PlaylistText me your questions or comments.Support the showIf you enjoy the podcast, please rate and leave a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify__________________James Early, the Jesus Mindset Coach, is a Bible teacher, speaker, and podcaster. December has a way of pulling us back into old roles, familiar dynamics, and unspoken expectations - especially around family, work, and social obligations. For many neurodivergent people, this can quietly activate stress, self-doubt, and the urge to explain or perform. In this episode of Mindful Mondays, Ashley Bentley explores Radical Permission - the practice of doing December your way. We look at why certain relationships bypass logic and go straight to the body, how childhood conditioning and masking resurface during the holidays, and why releasing the need to justify yourself can be deeply regulating. This episode also gently touches on relational tension, emotional fatigue, and the cost of people-pleasing at this time of year, offering a compassionate reframe for staying true to yourself without abandoning connection. The episode closes with a deeply empowering guided meditation, blending poetry and presence, designed to help you inhabit your inner truth, reconnect with self-trust, and move through the season with greater ease and integrity.A grounding invitation to release expectations - and reclaim your peace.❤️ Support the ShowIf this episode resonated with you:✅ Follow or Subscribe to The Neurodivergent Experience⭐ Leave a quick review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify
In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Amina Knight for an honest and necessary conversation about racism within the Muslim community. We explore how racial bias and colorism show up in our masājid, families, institutions, and online spaces — often quietly, sometimes painfully. Dr. Knight helps us unpack why these patterns persist, how they harm individuals and fracture the idea of ummah, and what accountability, healing, and allyship can look like moving forward. This episode is an invitation to reflect, listen deeply, and begin doing the work our faith already calls us to.Text to get in touch!Support the showIf you enjoyed this episode, subscribe and share! Dominic is joined again by the inimitable Dr. Lydia Craig where they dive into Dickens' third Christmas Book, with readings from the award-winning actress Penelope RawlinsThe Cricket On The Hearth - published 180 years ago this year - explodes into life from the very start and hardly pauses for breath until the very end. Its unrelenting pace sweeps its characters along whether they be human, animal, insect or household object … Centred around that fabled victorian fireside. Where dreams and visions appear happy in the glowing light but depressed in the shadows, there sits John Peerybingle with his pipe. His occupation as a carrier brings one of the many Christmassy elements to the book, in his daily round of delivering parcels out in the raw Winter weather. His wife Dot - as in the brightest little star that ever shone - is a young, energetic woman, who races about their home.Another Christmassy element in this story is the occupation of Toy-making. Enter Caleb Plummer and his blind daughter Bertha who make Dolls for the nasty, crab-faced Tackleton. And tearing in and out is the excited dog, Boxer seen as a spec in the distance one moment, then suddenly up close with his wet nose pressed into your face …Last but not least, is the magical Cricket ...HAPPY CHRISTMAS !!!Intro Music and Additional SFX provided under license by Epidemic Sound Support the showIf you'd like to make a donation to support the costs of producing this series you can buy 'coffees' right here https://www.buymeacoffee.com/dominicgerrardThank you so much!Host: Dominic GerrardSeries Artwork: Léna GibertOriginal Music: Dominic GerrardThank you for listening!
What if the thing you “protect” most is silently telling the world what you worship? We explore how Advent pressure exposes our true priorities and why the Magi's long, ordinary journey reframes generosity as a truthful act of worship—not a performance. Outsiders notice the star and move; insiders cling to familiarity; Herod hears the same news and tightens his grip. That split-screen reveals a deeper diagnosis: fear imitates worship without surrender, while trust begins with attention and moves us toward joyful obedience. We walk through Matthew 2 and slow down at a crucial detail: the Magi bow before they give. Their gifts—gold for kingship, frankincense for divinity, myrrh for suffering—are not payments to earn favor but confessions of belief. We also correct the nostalgic timeline: no manger scene here, but a home and a toddler. The wonder has cooled, the dust has settled, and still they kneel. Real worship often lives there, in patient faithfulness that persists when the spotlight fades. From there, we connect Jesus' words in Matthew 6 to everyday choices: where your treasure is, your heart will follow. Earthly security feels solid because it is visible and controllable, yet that very control makes it fragile. Heavenly treasure requires trust, which is why it endures. If holding tight feels safer, generosity will always look like risk. If God is our security, open hands become wise. We offer a practical step to reorient your life: name one place where fear is steering your finances and practice quiet, intentional generosity there—receiving before responding, letting giving reshape your heart rather than prove your devotion. If this conversation helps you notice, name, and reorder what you truly treasure, share it with a friend, subscribe for more, and leave a quick review to help others find the show. A drone flying over the Lee Correctional Institution in South Carolina was intercepted by prison staff after dropping a package of contraband that included raw steak, crab legs, Old Bay seasoning, marijuana and cigarettes. Officials seized the drone and are investigating the incident, which highlights how unmanned aerial vehicles are being used in attempts to smuggle contraband into prisons and the challenges authorities face in preventing these deliveries. This Week's Featured Hashtag#TVDinnerShowsSend a text to The Ebone Zone! 336 – What makes you want to obey God?People sometimes ask: "Is there a way to obey God from a place of love instead of from a sense of duty or fear of punishment?" And my answer is always: Absolutely, Yes! It is totally possible to obey God from a place of love instead of duty or fear. God doesn't want you to obey Him because you're afraid of Him. God wants a loving relationship with you. When you realize He always has your best interests at heart, you really do want to obey God, you love to obey God.And that's what we're talking about on this episode of Freedom Fridays.∞∞∞∞∞∞∞SHOW NOTES: Full transcript at thebiblespeakstoyou.com/336Text me your questions or comments.Support the showIf you enjoy the podcast, please rate and leave a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify__________________James Early, the Jesus Mindset Coach, is a Bible teacher, speaker, and podcaster. In this Hot Topic episode of The Neurodivergent Experience, Jordan James and Simon Scott explore why Autistic and ADHD people continue to face systemic discrimination when looking for work — even in industries that quietly depend on neurodivergent talent.Responding to recent reporting on neurodivergent employment discrimination, they share personal experiences of job interviews, disclosure, workplace bullying, infantilisation, and being punished for mistakes while their strengths are ignored. Jordan and Simon question whether disclosure is ever truly safe, and explain how fear, burnout, and past trauma — not lack of ability — keep capable people out of the workforce. They unpack the double bind many neurodivergent people face: judged for being unemployed, then discriminated against again when trying to work, and highlight the irony that creative, technical, and production industries are built on neurodivergent skills, while the people providing that labour remain undervalued and excluded. They discuss:Why do autistic and ADHD people struggle to get hired despite being capable? The risks and realities of disclosing neurodivergence at workInfantilisation, stigma, and being defined by mistakesWorkplace culture, office politics, and unspoken biasHow burnout and mistreatment create a genuine fear of employmentWhy neurodivergent-friendly workplaces should be the default“Nothing about us without us” in hiring, policy, and workplace designA raw, angry, and deeply validating conversation about work, worth, and why neurodivergent people aren't locked out of employment because they can't work — but because the system refuses to change. Our Sponsors:
In this chapter, we delves deep into the urban legend of the 'Jersey Devil'. From its roots in the Pine Barrens and the Leeds family story into the 1909 wave of sightings, when strange tracks, alleged attacks, and public fear spread across South Jersey and beyond. Message us here!A mother, a son, and a community caught between love and stigma: the new movie "Rosemead" (produced by Lucy Liu) hits like a quiet earthquake. After watching the early screening, I ugly-cried when I found out that it was based on a true story. Because the story tackles the complexities of loving someone with mental illness, I just had to talk about it here. In this episode, I sit down with "Rosemead" actor Anzi De Benedetto to unpack how a true story about schizophrenia, grief, and culture moves beyond clichés and into the messy details of real life. What does support look like when friends don't have the right language? How does a family navigate care when stigma and “face” loom over every choice?Anzi shares his path to the role of Stan, a well-intentioned friend whose lighthearted validation brings comfort, but only to a certain level. We explore the line between empathy and minimization, the moment when a “pep talk” must give way to professional help, and why understanding psychosis as an ongoing condition, not just a singular event. The conversation expands into the cultural dynamics inside Chinese American communities depicted in the film.Still reeling from the emotional impact of the movie, I had to ask Anzi about his journey with acting that brought him to "Rosemead." He offers a rare look into the acting craft as emotional science: breathwork, body cues, and set safety over mythology, mirroring the same regulation skills I also teach. If Rosemead is screening near you, go see it and tell us what you think. Fair warning- it's not for the faint of heart. Bring tissues.
