    Ivy Insights

The Dateline Originals podcast is truly a game-changer for true crime enthusiasts like myself. Finally, there is a one-stop destination where all the Dateline original podcasts are combined, making it incredibly easy to sort through episodes by season. This brilliant idea was brought to life by someone who understands the needs of avid podcast listeners, and I couldn't be more grateful.

One of the best aspects of The Dateline Originals podcast is its organization. By grouping all the episodes by season, it saves listeners from the hassle of individually subscribing to each season or searching for new releases. It's convenient to have all the episodes in one place, allowing fans to easily access old seasons while also staying updated on any case updates or new seasons that may arise. Additionally, with this consolidated approach, duplicate trailer downloads become a thing of the past, preventing any frustration caused by repetitive promotional material.

Another noteworthy aspect of The Dateline Originals podcast is the assurance that comes with Dateline's quality standards. As a long-time viewer of their television show, I appreciate their commitment to fact-checking and avoiding sensationalism in their storytelling. This dedication carries over into their podcast format as well, alleviating any concerns about accuracy or dramatization that may arise when exploring other true crime podcasts. With Dateline at the helm, listeners can trust that they are getting reliable and well-researched content.

However, no podcast is without its drawbacks. While The Dateline Originals podcast excels in many areas, one potential downside lies in its limited scope. As it exclusively features content produced by Dateline NBC, some fans may feel disappointed if they are looking for variety or different perspectives in their true crime podcasts. The lack of diverse voices and storytelling styles could potentially limit its appeal to a broader audience who enjoys exploring different nuances within the genre.

In conclusion, The Dateline Originals podcast delivers an exceptional listening experience for true crime enthusiasts. Its consolidated approach, allowing easy access to all episodes grouped by season, is a brilliant solution to the inconveniences of individual subscriptions and duplicate downloads. The podcast's adherence to Dateline's high-quality standards ensures that listeners can trust the content they are consuming. While it may not offer the same variety as other true crime podcasts, its dedication to reliability makes it a must-listen for fans of the genre.

She lives in a town in New York on the Hudson River directly across from Sing Sing, the maximum security prison where her son is incarcerated. Maria talks to Dan about JJ's childhood. And she recounts in detail her memory of January 27th, 1998, the day of Al Ward's murder.Meanwhile, Dan is still familiarizing himself with JJ's case file. There are thousands of pages of documents that sit in a box by his desk. He starts to work his way through the trial transcript. Immediately, it's clear to him that the trial was strange. As Dan unpacks what happened in the courtroom, he's left with more questions than answers. Prosecutors say five people identified JJ as the man who killed Al Ward. Dan decides to find them. This episode was originally published on February 20, 2023.

In December of 2002, NBC News Producer Dan Slepian got a letter from a New York State maximum security prison. It was detailed and meticulous, almost like it had been written by a lawyer. It was from a man serving 25 years to life for murder. And it ended with a desperate plea: look into my case.In 1998, Jon-Adrian “JJ” Velazquez was arrested for killing a retired New York City police officer. A year later, he was convicted of second degree murder. But he insisted he didn't do it. Dan was skeptical. Prosecutors said five eyewitnesses had sworn JJ was the killer. Could five people be wrong? So Dan pays JJ a visit. And at the end of it, JJ gives Dan a challenge: prove me guilty. This episode was originally published on February 20, 2023.

Hosted by CNBC Senior Washington Correspondent Eamon Javers, “The Crimes of Putin's Trader” is the secret story of a young Russian oligarch who hacked his way to an illicit $93 million fortune...and the FBI team who finally brought him to justice. For generations, insider trading on Wall Street has been a crime of the American rich: the stereotype of corporate executives passing stock tips at country clubs was not far off. But new cyberwarfare techniques, and an aggressive anti-Western Putin regime in Moscow have turned this kind of insider corruption into an attack from the outside on the American economy itself, with profound implications for all of us who have retirement accounts, investments, or work in corporate America.
