Blake Berglund, Musician and Author, takes us on a journey from the farm in Kennedy, SK., to the vibrant streets of Nashville, Tennessee, tracing the thread of lightning that connects him to his father. As he grapples with the passing of his father, he finds solace and inspiration in the stormy nights and the memories of his farm upbringing. Amidst tornado warnings in Nashville, Blake sits at the piano, channeling the energy of the farm into a heartfelt composition. The song becomes a tribute to his father, capturing the late-night moments when he would be woken up to play 'Great Balls of Fire.' Blake reflects on his father's unwavering support, mirroring the cycles of farming in the ups and downs of creative pursuits. The farm, a constant presence in their lives, becomes a sanctuary for the Berglund siblings in times of need. As the family experiences grief and heartache, amidst the pain, there's a profound sense of rebirth. Together, they embark on a lifelong journey of healing, finding love and insights that can only emerge through the process of grieving.Blake performs 'Farming Wives,' a song from his new album 'Left of the Right,' he shares thoughts on the importance of the matriarchy in the Berglund family. This episode captures the essence of love, loss, and the enduring connection to the farm that shapes the lives of the Berglund family.  Connect with Blake: The Straight & The Narrow Substack: https://blakeberglund.substack.com/Instagram: www.instagram.com/blakeberglundFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/blakejohnberglundWebsite: https://blakeberglund.com/ Aberhart Family of Companies:https://aberhartagsolutions.cahttps://aberhartfarms.comhttps://suregrowth.cahttps://www.convergencegrowth.com Connect with us on AGvisorPro: https://link-app.agvisorpro.com/aberhart-dan If you want to be part of the Growing the Future community, make sure to say hi on social at: https://linktr.ee/Growingthefuturepodcast

In this season 3 finale episode, I chatted with multi-talented Saskatchewan singer-songwriter Blake Berglund.  Blake may have emerged on my radar a short time ago however, he's been involved in the music industry in one form or the other for many years. When I think of Blake Berglund, many things come to mind. He is a singer-songwriter, performer, writer, entrepreneur…. the list goes on and on….  Blake's creative adventures represent the broad spectrum of what I think today's artist needs to be successful…. The ability to adapt to the ever changing conditions across the music landscape with numerous proverbial muscles to flex in their toolkit depending on the situation.   We discussed Blake's journey into writing and penning great songs and stories, how he navigates his creative tendencies, the chronology behind his music discography and what he is cooking up for 2023. It was an awesome way to end the season and I think you will really enjoy our chat. Please go check out Blake's music, Substack series and website at www.blakeberglund.com. As always, I hope you enjoy the episode and thanks very much for listening.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ptbasementsessions/message

After wrapping up Season 1 of The Purpose Map™️ Podcast, Casey felt called to record and share a surprise mini-series with you. Lately, we've been receiving a lot of questions about whether or not we work with men. Many men have come our shared healing space, and this theme of growth, transformation, navigating big change, and finding purpose, from the perspective of men, has just been everywhere. Our hope is that this surprise mini-series on the podcast reaches men, but it's for everyone. Every human deserves to heal. In this episode, Casey interviews her brother, Blake Berglund. They discuss concepts like grief and change, gratitude, and magic, spirituality and presence, and the spaces between it all. They talk about tension in life, and how to stumble through discomfort. These are universal concepts that impact all humans. It's our hope that hearing from men opens up other men to healing, community, growth, transformation, and living in alignment. Casey also shares some wise words that were shared by their late Uncle John, to whom this episode is dedicated, so be sure to listen to the end! **Note: If there's any other way that we can support you, we're here for it. Worthy and Well is very well connected to people and practitioners that are available for supporting healing right now. And the more healing we can do, the more we can step into our unique gifts and share them openly and expressively with the world (and the better off our planet becomes). So if you want to join us in that mission, please reach out. We would love to help connect you with the right resources for the journey you are on. Resources & Next Steps: You can reach out to Blake at blakeberglund@gmail.com. You can connect with Blake on his website, Twitter, Instagram, BandCamp, or Facebook. If you're in a space between, you're going through a transformation, or you're feeling grief or identity death, you're not alone. What a magical transformative moment you're in! If you are looking for support, please don't hesitate to reach out. Casey has a few spots open for one-on-one clients over the next 6 to 12 months, and then we'll be closing down one-on-one coaching applications for the next year. To discuss this in more detail, book a call with Casey. If you feel awakened to a deeper purpose for your life, we are here to help you get aligned with your Integrated Self and Next Level Purpose. Episode 113 is with Canadian singer-songwriter Colter Wall. Wall will release his third full-length album, Western Swing & Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs, this coming August 28. The 10-track self-produced effort finds Wall delivering a strong and sturdy ode to Western culture & rural ranch life of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Wall's Western Swing & Waltzes is a rich blend of iconic traditionals, prairie & trail songs from fellow Western songwriters, and a batch of new, fun-loving Wall originals. There's a definite loose and natural tone throughout that feels organic and genuine. Wall and company capture these perfectly imperfect moments and let them breathe and occupy the entire room. At times, Wall is raw and coarse as the feral grazing pastures, mountain overlooks, and the rolling prairies that are often the backdrops of Western Swing & Waltzes. At others, like the gorgeous sway found on the Stan Jones prairie classic "Cowpoke," Wall and company are delicate and precise on the harmonica laden and pedal swept ballad. During this conversation, Wall and I talk about the recording of the album (at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberley, TX), the rich, epic lore of Western & rural culture, creating the perfect mood and setting for classic traditional ballads and newly written originals, songwriting contemporaries such as Vincent Neil Emerson and Blake Berglund, and how we can learn from and support our local/regional rural agriculture neighbors during these trying times. Quinton Blair - Manitoba Country Music Association Roots Artist of the Year (2015) - is a self-ordained troubadour, tale-spinner and songwriter. Imagine Steve Earle jamming with Dwight Yoakam, minus the burden of fame. Influenced by the likes of Rodney Crowell and Merle Haggard, his brand of strikingly diverse roots/country music casts a wide loop, and captivates audiences with witty stories and relatable songs.   The authenticity of Quinton shines through in the many formats in which he travels. As a solo artist, he relies on his guitar, witty stories, and keen ability to capture the crowd night after night. He is often joined by good friend Bill Western Jr on pedal steel, where the chemistry and musical backbone of this combination lends to an unpredictably charming experience. Through the summer months, Blair is most often seen moving his full honky tonk band back and forth across the prairies.   The new EP, Cash Crop, released in April 2016, boasts elements of soul, heartland roots, country, and rock, and features Quinton's signature themes of agricultural, hurt and redemption. Cash Crop was produced by Murray Pulver (former founding member of Doc Walker) and features co-writes by Del Barber, Blake Berglund, and Clayton Bellamy (The Road Hammers).
