Souther o Will Oldham han incorporado temas propios. It was followed by a thrice weekly series on a Mutual-Don Lee regional network in 1946, starring Jack Mather and Harry Lang, who continued to head the cast in the syndicated radio series of more than 600 episodes from 1947 to 1956.---------------------------------------------------------------------------Sherlock Holmes Radio Station Live 24/7 Click Here to Listenhttps://live365.com/station/Sherlock-Holmes-Classic-Radio--a91441----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Episode 113 is with Canadian singer-songwriter Colter Wall. Wall will release his third full-length album, Western Swing & Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs, this coming August 28. The 10-track self-produced effort finds Wall delivering a strong and sturdy ode to Western culture & rural ranch life of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Wall's Western Swing & Waltzes is a rich blend of iconic traditionals, prairie & trail songs from fellow Western songwriters, and a batch of new, fun-loving Wall originals. There's a definite loose and natural tone throughout that feels organic and genuine. Wall and company capture these perfectly imperfect moments and let them breathe and occupy the entire room. At times, Wall is raw and coarse as the feral grazing pastures, mountain overlooks, and the rolling prairies that are often the backdrops of Western Swing & Waltzes. At others, like the gorgeous sway found on the Stan Jones prairie classic "Cowpoke," Wall and company are delicate and precise on the harmonica laden and pedal swept ballad. During this conversation, Wall and I talk about the recording of the album (at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberley, TX), the rich, epic lore of Western & rural culture, creating the perfect mood and setting for classic traditional ballads and newly written originals, songwriting contemporaries such as Vincent Neil Emerson and Blake Berglund, and how we can learn from and support our local/regional rural agriculture neighbors during these trying times. Mike recently spent an afternoon in the workshop of one of Canada’s top luthiers, Linda Manzer, for a fun chat with her and one Canada’s top singer-songwriters, Stephen Fearing (Blackie & The Rodeo Kings). Together, they talk guitars (obviously), the role the instrument plays in their respective careers and personal lives, share some interesting stories, and get into the new custom Cowpoke guitar that Linda had just presented to Stephen. After the interview, Stephen gives the first-ever performance on the custom guitar. Plus, contributor Hal Rodriguez recently spoke with Wide Mouth Mason's Shaun Verreault on the band's new album,I Wanna Go with You, and the lap steel's central role in its composition. In this brief snippet, Shaun explains how he found and developed a fondness for the instrument. The Gipper turns in tremendous work here, too, fusing his character's seemingly incongruous rigidity, resourcefulness and capacity for empathy into harmonious aspects of a genuinely unique being in the "oater" canon. Your hosts also make a spirited effort to situate this ballad of "Cowpoke" and "Tennessee" within the queer film tradition; discuss the archetypal function of The Prospector; and entertain a sad and decidedly uninspiring analogy between the dysfunctional "Whig" party of the 1830s and the rudderless #resistance crowd of today. Did you know that they sold bicycles from catalogs? And di you know that they are, like, RIDICULOUSLY cheap? Neither did we. But Clyde knows. And Clyde took full advantage! With the help of his trusty dog, Dawg, Clyde gives riding a bike a try! Rachel and I already know how to ride bikes. Completely. No training wheels for us anymore. No sir. Um.... WELL EITHER WAY WE DEFINITELY KNOW HOW TO PODCAST, YES WE ARE PODCASTING NOW HOORAY!! Rachel & Sam Read a Story is about the fun of reading children's books new and old, and also about how little sense these books make when you read them 20 years later. We read the books aloud and make fun of them as we go. Enjoy! Follow Sam (@SamGasch) or follow Rachel (@Sknowite). Either way, please subscribe!

Don't Close Your Eyes: Live Radio Theatre!

Season 1, Episode 3: "The Crimson Cowpoke" The evil Hacker Brothers have run just about everyone out of town except for Miss Kitty the *ahem* "saloon keeper," Schoolmarm Pearl Hart, Ichabod the undertaker and old drunk Jesse. Prospector MacGuffin finally struck gold and the Hackers aim to take over the claim. The town's only salvation lies in dime-novel hero The Crimson Cowpoke -- who mysteriously shows up just as handsome, young Andrew West moves to town to set up a General Store! This week's episode has rip-roaring action, whips and gunfights at high noon, tying an ingenue to the train tracks, an incredibly smart horse named Bluebell and much more! Recorded live at Bozeman, Montana's Equinox Theatre, now known as the Verge Theater on July 2, 2011! What you hear is what the audience heard with no overdubs and minimal post-production to try to make it comfortable to your ears! In this first season, we had not yet made the decision to have entirely analog effects, but Sound Impresario Rob Robinson did activate each one live on stage! Written and Directed by Keith Suta Featuring: Wren Goodman as Pearl Hart; Robert Dalton as Andrew West and MacGuffin; Sadie Cassavaugh as Miss Kitty; Zebediah Gammack as Hacker; Ryan Lawrence Flynn as Walt Hacker; Christian McDaniel as Ichabod and Ed Hacker; Chris Donahue as Jesse; and Keith Suta as Mr. Announcer! Music composed and performed by Chris Donahue Sound effects by Rob Robinson
