Get ready to take a rhythmic journey back in time, as we explore the thriving music scene of Atlanta that gave birth to innovative hip hop genres. We'll be uncovering the stories behind the 20 greatest hip hop songs that rocked the city during the 2000s and 2010s, revealing why Atlanta became an epicenter of diverse musical expressions and a top choice for aspiring artists over New York. While we salute the Freakney Atlanta of the early 90s, we'll focus more on the music that stood the test of time and defined an era.Joined by a special guest, we'll be tracing the evolution of Atlanta's music scene, with a special spotlight on influential genres like Crunk, Trap, and Commercial music. We'll take you behind the scenes of pivotal moments that shaped Atlanta's music culture and celebrate the notable contributions of iconic artists like OutKast, Ludacris, and the Ying Yang Twins. You'll hear tales of how local radio shows and DJs, such as Greg Street on V103 and Hot 107.9, defied norms to promote non-radio music, bringing underground gems to the limelight. As we dissect the Atlanta music landscape, we'll also be unraveling the profound impact of artists like Andre 3000 and  DJ Greg Street on the sound of the city during the 2000s and 2010s. We'll have an enlightening conversation about their unique contributions, as well as a countdown of the 20 most defining songs of the era. So buckle up, music lovers, and join us on this rhythmic adventure through the electrifying hip hop history of Atlanta.Support the show

This is a flashback episode of the FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah (aka Ausar Ra Black Hawk) for the week of March 5, 2014 (originally broadcast on April 9, 2008) with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul music, news and commentary. That week's commentary was on some new updates on the U.S. Presidential Election process and doing an introduction for this week's interview guest, Lisa F. Jackson, the director of the HBO Documentary, "The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo" (premieres April 8, 2008 with numerous showings afterward). This documentary focuses on the war zone conflicts of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), why the war is and has been occurring throughout the years (natural resource control, affects of colonialism carryovers, etc.) and the effects it has on the women sexually abused in that region by soldiers (Congolese, UN, etc.), the soldiers themselves and others trying to help them as best they can to assist these women in these circumstances. It's an extremely good (yet very sad and harsh) documentary with a bit of hope up in there I think folks should definitely check out.
