What they do, or don't do, will speak volumes about their offseason plans/overall vision for the team.15:57 - Vic has a dog-related incident yesterday and he PROMISED the Queen of Chicken he wouldn't talk about it on air today. And, yet...here he is bringing it up. How did Vic clash with a good boi yesterday?Shams is reporting now that Giannis WILL be traded before the NBA Draft tomorrow. Where will he end up?29:49 - Oh, by the way...the Amateurs did well at the US Open! That's a TOUGH course there at Shinnecock. If Vic, Moser, and Brett golfed in a scramble and you only took their best scores, how low could they score on that course?Oh, by the way...Cape Verde played to another draw in the World Cup. Starting with some Jolson - Keeler banter, and punctuated by a Jolson remark, here is a greate performance of "A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody" by Al Jolson from June 15, 1936. There is more material in the complete program which, along with other Jolson radio shows, circulates on the Official Al Jolson Website at www.jolson.org.
Unlike other renditions of "Toot, Toot, Toosie," this one from a June 15, 1936, broadcast features sounds of Ruby tap dancng rather than Al whistling duing the bridge. One wonders it it's really Ruby's shoes or a sound man's device. There is more material in the complete program which, along with other Jolson radio shows, circulates on the Official Al Jolson Website at www.jolson.org.

How can interoperability, policy, and technology come together to solve some of healthcare's most stubborn challenges? On episode 108 of Astonishing Healthcare, host Justin Venneri sits down with Brendan Keeler, Interoperability Practice Lead at HTD Health and author of the popular Health API Guy Substack. Brendan shares his journey from working at Epic Systems to becoming a leading voice in healthcare interoperability, offering insights into the intersection of policy, technology, and workflows.Together, they explore the current state of interoperability in healthcare, the impact of CMS rulemaking on prior authorizations, and the challenges of modernizing entrenched systems of record. Brendan also highlights the importance of empathy in solving healthcare's complex problems and shares his thoughts on the future of digital identity and patient data access.Key TakeawaysInteroperability is about ubiquity, not just standards. While digital standards like FHIR and NCPDP are important, true interoperability requires widespread adoption across all stakeholders to ensure seamless data exchange.CMS rulemaking is driving change in prior authorizations. New regulations aim to digitize and standardize prior authorization processes, reducing manual burdens while potentially increasing overall transaction volumes.Modernizing healthcare infrastructure is a monumental challenge. Systems of record like EHRs and claims processing platforms are deeply entrenched, making change costly and complex. Leaders often opt for incremental improvements, such as layering AI on top, rather than full-scale replacements.Empathy is key to solving healthcare problems. Bridging the "empathy gap" by making complex issues like benefit design and regulation accessible to non-experts is essential for attracting talent and driving innovation.Digital identity is foundational for the future of healthcare. Strong identity verification systems unlock trust and enable secure, seamless data sharing between patients, providers, and payers, paving the way for better outcomes.Related ContentHow to obtain Rx data and what to do with itReplay - Unified Care Navigation: A Critical Component of the Future of Health Benefits DesignAH064 - Empowering Plan Sponsors: Data Access & Analysis, with Bridget MulvennaJudi Health Policy Update – It's a Tangled Web of ProgressDisclaimerThis podcast is for informational and entertainment purposes only. Jason Quigley will have been out of the ring for more than three years; Luke Keeler for 2.5. But they're ready to park their retirements and meet at the centre of the ring at Croke Park when Katie Taylor rocks up for her retirement bout in September, all going well. Every Irish fighter born from his/her mother will have their hand up for a slot on the card but these two are at the head of the queue in a Last Dance-style bout that would be the perfect way for both men to go out. They met twice in the amateurs, and as pros scrapped their way to world title contention - going down to the same champion. Today Quigley and Keeler talk about The Rocky Road to Croke Park and why they're willing to go all-in at GAA HQ. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

We are heading up to the beautiful coast of Maine for today's episode! Our guest is Laura Keeler Pierce, the founder and principal designer of the New England-based interior design firm Keeler & Co., and the co-founder of Rusticator, a curated home furnishings shop located in Seal Harbor, Maine. Laura sits down with Caroline, Taryn, and Liz to discuss her signature aesthetic, which masterfully blends historic New England charm with modern, updated livability. She shares how growing up moving from city to city shaped her design eye, the inspiration behind the "rusticator" lifestyle in Acadia National Park, and her approach to designing incredible commercial spaces like the reimagined Claremont Hotel. Quick Decorating Takeaways: Respect the Architecture: When working with older, historic homes, Laura believes in maintaining the architectural integrity while infusing it with modern character. Don't fight the bones of the house—embrace them, and let the history of the home inform your material and fabric choices. The "Rusticator" Lifestyle: Inspired by Mount Desert Island's iconic summer cottages, Laura recommends looking for "first-generation heirlooms." These are timeless, well-crafted, sturdy pieces that can handle everyday life (and sandy feet) but still bring a sense of tailored elegance and deep comfort to a space. Mix Classic with Contemporary: A room shouldn't feel like a museum. Laura creates warmth by layering classic, traditional patterns (like Sister Parish or William Morris & Co.) with fresh colors, vintage bamboo pieces, and contemporary art to keep the room feeling spirited, welcoming, and deeply personal. K.C. Keeler talked this week about how and when the staff might select a starting quarterback, and placekicker Carl Hardin spoke about his approach to the position as he enters his second season as the starter. Is Peter Clarke more likely to catch 50 passes than Keveun Mason is to rush for 700 yards this season? That's one of five ‘this or that?' scenarios we threw at the staff on this week's podcast, brought to you each week by Greenspan & Greenspan Injury Lawyers. Intro: 0:00 – 6:50 More on the Jaxon Smolik-Ajani Sheppard QB battle: 6:50 – 16:36 Special teams report and Carl Hardin interview: 16:36 – 24:26 A Temple football and hoops version of ‘This or that?': 24:26 – 57:18 Mailbag: 57:18 – end

Colin Thompson's football career has now taken him to the United Football League's Orlando Storm, where he will serve as the team's offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. The former Temple and NFL tight end joined us on The Scoop this week to talk about how he landed with the Storm, what he learned along the way from coaches like Joe Brady and Will Muschamp, what he saw from working this past season as an offensive assistant at Navy and why he thinks Temple is headed in the right direction under K.C. Keeler. And yes, we got to most of your mailbag questions about a Temple men's basketball team that is reeling and on a six-game losing streak heading into Thursday night's game against Tulane. In 2017, Olivia Lone Bear disappeared from the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota. Months later, her truck was discovered submerged in a reservoir, but the answers never surfaced. As the investigation stalled, the story of a missing mother and the community that searched tirelessly for her became part of a larger, devastating pattern: the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women whose cases remain unsolved, yet refuse to be forgotten. If you have any information regarding the death of Olivia Lone Bear, you are urged to contact the FBI at: 1-800-CALL-FBI, or you can submit a tip at fbi.tips.govCheck out Adventures with Purpose Connect with us on Social Media! You can find us at:Instagram: @bookofthedeadpodX: @bkofthedeadpodFacebook: The Book of the Dead PodcastTikTok: BookofthedeadpodOr visit our website at www.botdpod.comFeaturing a Promo for True Crime Connections:True Crime Connections is a survivor-led podcast where stories of abuse, trauma, and resilience are shared with raw honesty and purpose.Listen hereBody found in submerged truck believed to be missing mother of five. Leonarde Keeler, inventor of the modern polygraph, first showcased his device in a courtroom on 2nd February, 1935. The wooden box, which measured physiological responses like blood pressure and respiration, took the stand alongside him, and, while Keeler emphasized the machine wasn't infallible, he later told journalists assembled outside the venue that his invention would soon revolutionise criminal justice. Keeler's innovations built upon earlier work by others, including Scottish cardiologist James McKenzie, who created a device to detect heart arrhythmias, and Dr. William Moulton Marston, who later linked blood pressure changes to emotional responses - and, inspired by his "truth-telling" research, would go on to create Wonder Woman. But Keeler's talent for self-promotion, using dramatic applications of his polygraph, made his name, and cemented the device's reputation as a “lie detector” (a term he never actually used). In this episode, Arion, Rebecca and Olly discover how the polygraph - now discredited as evidence in US courts - once put a Death Row inmate to the electric chair; reveal how Keeler's mentors gradually drifted away from the ‘monster' they had created; and explain how the men who invented the ‘truth machines' of the 20th century had an uncanny talent for meeting their wives at work… Further Reading: • 'Will Lie Detectors Ever Get Their Day in Court Again?' Lucy Keeler's version of “a rough start to the year” is… intense. After picking up a tropical illness in Thailand, Lucy went from fully independent to unable to walk, dress herself, type, or even hold a pen thanks to brutal joint inflammation that lingered for months. Doctors couldn't confirm exactly what caused it (possible chikungunya or parvovirus), and recovery was slow, painful, and messy. But instead of waiting around for life to feel “normal” again, Lucy did what a lot of us do when we're trapped in the house and losing our minds: she needed something to aim at.An Instagram ad, a half-delusional spark of hope, and a stubborn refusal to write herself off later… Lucy signs up to run 200 miles across Tajikistan in 7 days — despite not even being able to walk properly when she first saw it.This episode is about recovery, pushing yourself (without ignoring reality), the power of goals, and why most people quit right before the turning point. Also: periods in the mountains, zero running water, and the kind of camaraderie that makes you feel human again.Timestamps00:00 — Lucy's “dare and win”: unable to walk… then 200 miles across Tajikistan01:50 — Thailand illness hits hard: fever, shaking, and “is this normal?” moments03:25 — Back home: arms seize up, can't move, can't breathe properly, A&E visit05:30 — The swelling gets serious: can't stand, can't dress herself, tropical disease hospital06:10 — Possible diagnoses + reality of recovery: months of pain, steroids, and work support08:45 — The pivot: “I need something to look forward to” (goal-setting in survival mode)10:00 — The Instagram ad that changed everything + what the Tajikistan run actually is22:30 — The hardest day: illness, no calories, endometriosis surprise, big climb, and not quittingKey TakeawaysJust because you look “fine” doesn't mean you are. Lucy talks about that weird limbo where you're functioning on the outside but in agony underneath.A goal can be a lifeline. Not a “new year, new me” goal — a give-me-a-reason-to-keep-going goal.Stubbornness is a double-edged sword. It got her through Thailand, through Gatwick, through A&E… and eventually into recovery (but she also admits she should've accepted help sooner).Fear gets loud right before you do something brave. Lucy's body starts “hurting again” right before the trip — classic panic symptoms dressing up as logic.Community changes everything. This wasn't a race — it was a shared experience built on support, breaks, check-ins, and people who refuse to let you quit alone.Hard days are part of the deal. The breakdown day wasn't a sign to stop — it was the point most people would stop… and that's why it mattered.Adventure doesn't require a new identity. Lucy loves her job, loves London, and still makes space for big challenges — you don't have to burn your life down to expand it.The dare is simple (and annoying): push the button on the thing you keep thinking about.Check out The Great Silk Run! https://bit.ly/4aoNRPwShop She Who Dares Wins: www.shewhodareswins.comJoin Dare Club: https://stan.store/shewhodareswinsYoutube Channel: youtube.com/channel/UCkCSa96nwEKh-aeAbhXI7PA/Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/cw/shewhodareswins Hosted on Acast. It looks like K.C. Keeler and his staff are zeroing in on Mason McKenzie as one of their preferred transfer portal quarterback recruiting targets, and you'll hear part of our interview with the former Saginaw Valley State star on this week's podcast. Can some get-right wins for Adam Fisher's and Diane Richardson's basketball programs get them back on track as American Conference play approaches? Perhaps, but Fisher's men's team is facing some injury challenges once again. We talked about that and answered all of your mailbag questions in our holiday episode of The Scoop, brought to you each week by Greenspan & Greenspan Injury Lawyers. It's been a tough Temple sports stretch. Bowl eligibility has evaded K.C. Keeler's football program heading into the season finale at No. 22 North Texas, and Diane Richardson's and Adam Fisher's basketball teams have weathered losses, too. We're here to help you cope with it all by reflecting on what we can be thankful for during this Thanksgiving week. At least National Signing Day is around the corner, and we'll tell you in the mailbag why we think some revenue share help could be on the way for Fisher's program. Intro: 0:00 – 4:25 No. 22 North Texas is an obstacle to Temple's bowl hopes: 4:25 – 21:34 UC San Diego runs past Adam Fisher's squad in Florida: 21:34 – 28:16 A 20-month gambling investigation comes to a close: 28:16 – 30:54 A loss to Villanova dashes women's hoops' Big 5 title repeat: 30:54 – 34:25 A quick look at our football recruiting roundup coverage: 34:25 – 36:23 Mailbag: 36:23 – end
That was the message Shannon Keeler received on Facebook from her assailant, more than 6 years after she was raped in her freshman dorm. It would still take an article in the press, and another 6 years before her rapist was finally held accountable and sentenced this week… but even the sentencing of 32-year-old Ian Cleary felt like another blow to Keeler’s fight for justice.
