Quel est le lien entre les Malgaches Dizzy Brains, le Sud-africain DJ Mujava, le label ougandais Nyege-Nyege ou encore le Nigérian Keziah Jones ? Tous ces artistes du continent africain ont été découverts au festival des Trans Musicales de Rennes dans l'ouest de la France. La semaine passée, c'était la 45e édition de cet événement. Membre fondateur du festival et programmateur des « Trans », Jean-Louis Brossard cherche depuis plus de quatre décennies des pépites sonores du monde entier, un humaniste, militant qui se bat pour que la musique se fasse entendre. Un peu de jazz, beaucoup de house music et une pointe de hip-hop : l'amapiano, c'est un cri de liberté pour l'Afrique du sud. Pour comprendre sa généalogie, il faut remonter aux années 90, lorsque le genre musical qu'est le Kwaito devient la bande son de la fin de l'apartheid. Renaud Brizard nous emmène découvrir le dernier rejeton de la house music sud-africaine : l'amapiano, né au milieu des années 2010, dans les township de Pretoria et Johannesbourg.
