Isaac and Caleb are back in the bar, following up on the trend of introducing a brand new series in it's own standalone special. Find out now in this episode, Introducing our Marvel Retrospective! And tune in on Monday for the first proper episode in that series, Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned!

Neither Dan or Vinny had watched this until this year and Vinny didn't know it existed at all. It's a fresh discussion on something that may be new to a lot of you out there. This is the first part of a two part set of episodes. Marvel and Toei teamed up for another movie which will be discussed in the next episode!

In a cheap gimmick, we cash in on the Halloween spirit and talk about a trash masterpiece (trashsterpiece?) from 1980, Toei's Dracula: Sovereign Of The Damned. We also talk about why Anime is bad at horror, and the concept of "so bad it's good". Regular coverage returns next week. This week on the Talk Without Rhythm Podcast I'm taking a look at two films that represent the Horror legacy of Marvel Comics! Okay...so only one of them is actually an officially licensed Marvel adaptation, but I've already covered the Blade films and I'll be damned if I'm going to watch Man-Thing again (shudder). Anyway, this week I'm discussing 1980's Tomb of Dracula (aka Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned) and 1992's Doctor Mordrid. List Breakdown and reviews of Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned and The Muthers
Keeping on that anime train we watched "Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned", but instead of based on a manga this one is based on "The Tomb of Dracula" from Marvel Comics. Be prepared for too many subplots that lead nowhere, too many characters that are unnecessary, and no real semblance of a likeable character in the whole bunch. On the plus side, it's not too long.
The Why Haven't You Seen This Film Podcast where my guest is Rilla previously from Soiled Restroom Cinema who asks me why I hadn't seen In the Mouth of Madness, one of John Carpenter's lesser known films that combines the cult status of author Stephen King with the imagery from H.P. Lovecraft. And in return, I ask her why she hadn't seen Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned, a low budget, made-for-TV anime from the 80's based on a Marvel comic version of Dracula that crams about a dozen story arcs into an hour and a half movie.
