Hey there all you blood suckers! It's that time of the month for more vampire action! Of course that means my pal Scott West is here, and we've got a lot to say! Mostly good but some grievances as well. We are definitely fair in our problems with the book, as Marv chose to make some additions to this story line that are a bit questionable. But don't let that scare you off, we have our normal discussion and loads of laughs as well! MONSTER PARTY SAYS, "MAKE MINE MONSTERS!" JAMES GONIS, SHAWN SHERIDAN, LARRY STROTHE, and MATT WEINHOLD, go the source of iconic funnybook frights! Whether you're a "Dracula" or a "Frankenstein", you're bound to love this celebration of abominable antiheroes, that we're simply calling... MONSTERS IN COMICS!!! As monster kids, we all grew up deeply loving the terrifying but often misunderstood creatures that graced our movie and television screens. But when we couldn't access these screens, due to finances, school schedule, or parental guidance, comic books provided another portal of access to our monstrous friends. Whether it's classic monster heroes like THE INCREDIBLE HULK or SWAMP THING, Marvel horror titles like WEREWOLF BY NIGHT, TOMB OF DRACULA, MAN-THING (giant-sized or normal), or MONSTER OF FRANKENSTEIN, or the hellish creations from Todd MacFralane's SPAWN, these characters always delivered the ghoulish goods. And monster comics continue their beastly boom! Which leads us to our extraordinary guest! He's a 2020 RONDO HATTEN AWARD-WINNING ARTIST OF THE YEAR, and his recording-breaking run of collector cards, and comic book covers has received critical acclaim. On top of all that, his current Kickstarter comic book monster mashup, MARK SPEAR'S MONSTERS, has led to pre-orders going through the roof.  And if that were not enough, he also gave us a master class in overcoming the trials and tribulations of making it in the comic book industry. Making his MONSTER PARTY debut, please welcome (we assume you've already guessed it)... MARK SPEARS! (SPAWN, SUPERMAN, GREEN LANTERN: WAR JOURNAL, POWER RANGERS, SAM & TWITCH, MARK SPEARS' MONSTERS TRADING CARDS, SEVERIN FILMS). MOVE OVER MCU... THE MONSTERS ARE COMING!

Hey there all you bloodsuckers! Scott West is back, and it's time for more vampire action! Dracula is getting the giant size treatment, and this story is pretty bonkers, and in an untraditional fashion, the story leads right into the following one in the regular series. Dracula needs a new home in London, so he has his minions procure one for him, except it's currently occupied by a young woman named Sheila Whittier. Unknown to Dracula (at first), the castle she lives in is haunted! Yes, it's vampires vs ghosts, and if that wasn't crazy enough, we get creepy incest vibes from the ghost, familial abuse, and some backstory of Dracula and his daughter, Lilith! So, join us for this scary good times! Hey everybody, Scott and I are back with more Tomb of Drac! Ok, I admit that's kinda lame, but our coverage is not! In this episode we welcome Marvelous Marv Wolfman to the book! Plus, we get two new characters introduced in Quincy and Edith Harker! Technically, I guess, you get three as we can't leave off Saint the dog! There are some really crazy elements, especially in issue 8, that we talk about, but even with those elements, and some inconsistent inking, these two issues were a lot of fun.  As usual, you can send any feedback to the show through email at Magazinesandmonsters@gmail.com or to me on Twitter @Billyd_licious or on the FB page (just search Magazines and Monsters)! You can find Scott on Twitter @ScottWest69 and definitely check out his writing (link in bio on Twitter)! Thanks for listening!  --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/magsnmonsters/message

The spookiest of seasons is upon us, so we decide to take a look at one of Marvel's spookiest comics: Tomb of Dracula! We know this character's not very well known, so we read issues #10-15 which include the first appearance of Blade, a much more popular character. Plus we get Dracula doing all of his trademark moves like steering a boat and calling his enemies up on the phone. Then we continue our Earth-2 journey with JLA #160 which features a panel where The Atom is lying on a giant hospital bed. That's all I remember about it. And dinosaurs.
