Amanda and Wade are joined by their friend and guest Erik who is a millennial with a house. Together, all three journey to post-apocalyptic New York City to dive into this early 2000's computer-animated sci fi film directed by Hironobu Sakaguchi. Erik shares his passion for this film with us as Wade struggles greatly with Alec Baldwin's voice coming out of Ben Affleck's face and Amanda makes herself cry over fictional deaths. We discuss Wade's deep, unabashed love for tea and Amanda's burgeoning career as a livestock auctioneer. Is this the greatest video game movie of all time? Listen and find out! Ok, so this isn't technically a video game adaptation. But, it's close enough for us! We're watching Final Fantasy: Spirits Within, which was supposed to be the launch of a digital actress, who would appear in multiple films. That didn't happen though because this movie lost a lot of money. It's a very strange film, but one that brought about a ton of innovation. It's kind of like the Phantom Menace for Motion capture. Which isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
Uhhhh what? Yep, we're skipping our FFIV quest in order to celebrate a year of YAFF! I'll be going over Final Fantasy: Spirits Within as well as Trials of Mana. Why "Trials of Mana"? Don't ask.

Talking all about that CG Final Fantasy Flick from the early 2000s, The Spirits Within. That at one, time was a huge deal if you were there and though still very historical, not talked about too much anymore. It really creates the look and feel of many video games and movies in the 2000s. So come on by and join us on another adventure of OMO Podcast. Fatigued by all the running and jumping from last week Jon, Jason and Mack venture into the blissful surreal world of eco-sci-fi-action in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Hopefully "the spirits" are whiskey and "within" means my stomach.
